Funny how these White Knights tried to defend BHVR with "wait until the graphic overhaul for better performance"
Another Graphical Overhauled Map, another performance downgrade. New McM maps are running much worse now on my PC and acording to my PS4 fellas for them aswell. Previously, 60 FPS was the norm. Now Im around 41 FPS. If ANYTHING happens (Hit, gen pop, Steam message) the FPS drops below 30 FPS.
Excuse me, but why is performance getting worse and worse.
Edit: Asked a few of my friends with much stronger PCs how its for them. They are encountering freezes and FPS drops aswell

These stats are only regarding ACTIVE CHALLENGES - please don't try to read more into them than that
what does that mean ACTIVE CHALLENGES? Everyone is doing challenges. Its just a collection of games, whats wrong with these stats?
-
@Crypticghoul said:
It's been confirmed that these stats only come from archive challenges. Even then, there's way too many variables to draw any kind of conclusion from this.
wdym "only archive challenges"? Everyone was doing the achive, normal stats in my eyes

Yeah, now we only need a bug that makes swf fair.
Idc about SWF, I play solo or Duo as survivor and as Killer I can stomp 99% of SWF groups with 3+ kills. That 1% stressfuls and unwinnable games against a 4 men legacy sweat team on voice coms and over 20k hours total team hours is nothing Im worried about. I can gladly take a L once every 100 matches and then move on to continue winning another 99 matches in a row.

Aura reading is now the same across all Tiers, this is probably why the changes have been made - prior to this, T1 was better than T3...now it's not.
96m is already a huge range, I don't think that this is going to be a problem with the perk and I definitely don't think you can say the perk has been nerfed.
sooo, why introducing this limit in the first place if it doesnt make a difference according to you?
-
overall, it solved the issue of D1 being better than D3. However, the range limit is just so unneccessary and just feels like BHVR spitting on us saying "huh, u want Discordanced 1 and 3 be fixed? Here, we changed it. Now shut up and eat it".
-
no official answer? Im not even sure of its intended to be that low honestly
-
whats the benefit of doing that?
-
to me its a sign to use the escape button and enjoy the time out and do something else

His low FOV is intentional. It's the downside he has to overcome in exchange for having the best mobility in the game.
Every killer has a weakness. Some move slower, some have long cooldowns. Blight's weakness is that his camera is at ant level.
Embrace it. Who cares how tall you are when you can boink-boink-smack?
my eyes care.

Kudos to you. That is how me and mine play too. We tried SWF out at first talking about the game and immediately saw how broken it became. We agreed it was cheating and now play together but talk about movies, fantasy football, politics, etc. We have a strict rule about no out of game communications. That is how it SHOULD be. However, your group and mine are the exceptions, not the rule. The vast majority of SWF play with the 5th Perk (Comms) and that is WHY we have Blight's Perks today. If you want to be mad at anyone, be mad at those SWF who do make use of that competitive advantage.
The Genie is out of the bottle, and will never go back inside it. The only way to solve this issue is to break up the Ques. The patchwork approach we are currently using will never solve the issue, because even if it manages to balance the 5th Perk (Comms) it is going to strangle Solos and those few SWF who play like Solos.
it just sucks...
One idea tho: How about increasing the base Tier meassurement? With that I mean: Why not taking current SWF on coms as standard and buff every aspect of the game to match them? This means buffing Killers (indiviudally, but also overall with more gen time for example) but also give Solo Q more tools into their hands to get close (obviously never like real coms, but better closer than nothing) to SWF? That would be some work for the devs but seems to be the cleanest solution in the long run to me

Yes, I have. I've lost to them, and I've won some too. My feeling is that Solo and SWF should be in two different Ques, so the DEV can require an extra Generator to power the gates, and unlock a 5th Perk for the Killer for the SWF/Team Que. This is the only solution that can balance the 5th Perk (Comms) without also strangling the poor Solo Que.
And yes, high mobility killers that have an easier time patrolling Generators do benefit more from these Perks than the Killers who ACTUALLY need them. That is a fact, and I'll happily cede the point. I play Myers as my Killer and I need those Perks far more than a Nurse or a Blight. But, I don't believe their existence makes it impossible to play said Killers. I think the fact that some Killers are so mobile doesn't reflect badly on the new Perks as much as it does the Killers who might needs some tweaks. I'm sure those tweaks will come.
and what about people who play SWF but dont use coms? I personally play a lot with 1-2 friends but we never use voice coms (we are all introverts) and just play the game as if it was Solo q but enjoying each others company and dont have to fear getting potatoes. we would be in a disadvantage for no reason

It is a bit awkward that your body blocks the aim point in most cases due to third person perspective but it's a bit more intuitive that it's the center of your screen
I glady sacrifce intuition over usefullness

@Gravewalker200 said:
Erm...I still have to try out the update this weekend, but from the patch notes, just relearn the aim.
Its not just like that. Your Body is basically blocking the aim. So you dont know exactly where you aim unless you start using it but then u have to readjust. Also sometimes it doesnt work at all.
Furthermore, why changing something when everyone was happy how it was? Its so annoying

As much as I feel sorry for PC right now who's suffering, I'm kinda glad for those that always ignore our issues. Now you can see just how bad we have it somedays! But honestly, I do hope it's fixed for PC soon!
PC had it bad too. Low to mid end was always suffering with problems. Dont get fooled by watching PC streamers with their High end 2000+ $ NASA PCs having no issue with DbD and assuming DbD is flawless on PC. Hell no. Everyone who cant afford a NASA PC (and this is the majority) was dealing with FPS just like consoles

This update changes things from all over the game (lots of things were updated with new, higher quality versions). Going back to the super simple explanation above, you end up changing a lot of those packages so the update gets bigger.
@Gcarrara said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1605613#Comment_1605613
Ehi! Do consider that this update includes graphic remakes for some animations, assets and some maps too. So it is normal for it to be bigger than the usual. You can see in the patch notes what has been remade/improved graphically speaking! 👍️
Is this a one time thing or will every DLC update be this big in the future?
-
@SnakeSound222 said:
Exactly! There is no real reason for this aside from Survivor bias.
The perk didn't break anything or create new situations where it was OP. It could stand on its own before. Now it needs another perk to help it out.
Survivor bias? I dont even think the most biased survivors were complaining about it. It was so rare and always welcomed to see over other perks like NOED.
-
What video? it seems to be deleted, reuploud pls
-
Its a movement bug. Jumping into a locker in and out (fast) fixes it. Idk if BHVR knows about this bug, its been a few months now since the bug exists.
-
@Peanits said:
It has to do with the way updates are handled on different platforms. To keep it simple, files are combined into packages and those packages are downloaded and swapped out when you update part of them. Some platforms have bigger packages than others due to the way they handle updates.
We do what we can to keep the size down, but when we update a lot of assets like this, it's not unusual for the size of the updates to be larger. With a larger update, the difference in sizes between the different platforms becomes a little more noticeable.
Im curious, why is the update so large this time in general? Previous DLCs had like 2-4 GB size but this one is over 8 GB on steam. Realy huge

Nope,just weird latency.
I definetely saw survivors getting unhooked,immediatly hit by the killer but didn't receive any damage although they were able to move.
Latency was fine, the hits previously were consistent and seemed to be low ping. He was same country like me too

Survivors have to be ON the generator for it to explode while Ruin is active. If I am remembering correctly, Surge is undamaged generators only, and Ruin auto-damages.
the more I learn and play about this perk the more underwhelming it becomes to me. What a F tier perk.
-
@Nobsyde said:
as far as I know, you don't get the notification bubble if you are in a range where you can actually hear the generator exploding. You get the notification bubble only when you are far enough from them.
That wasnt the case before? And surge is already only 32m limited, like tf? Why making it even weaker? the notifcatino bubble and sound effect of an explosion should ALWAYS appear no matter how close you are.
-
I feel like being in a circus with clowns around me. BHVR is still silent about it? What a joke

They shouldn't and they aren't. Not unless survivors chase, injure, down, and hook themselves.
are u actually denying that Moris are easy mode? Wow, impressive.

@Godot said:
This is actually a nice and harmless idea. Doubt people can say "no" to extra BP, lmao.
Just wait, there is already the entitled Killer main around the corner crying that this is unfair and more BP for survivor is OP because they can buy more purple FLs muuuuuhhh
-
Nice, its unneeded anyway

@ohheyitsbobcat said:
Say what you want but I'd rather have these type of easy but grindy challenges then kill every survivor in the basement style ones.
I do agree they could come up with something a tad more interesting though.
Oh yeah for sure, thats better than these crazy challenges like 4 men basement and stuff... But maaan... cant BHVR find the middle spot. Its ALWAYS either one extreme or the other extreme. Not a single aspect in this game is actually balanced lol

Kick 15 generators, repair 12 generators, make survivors scream 45 times. 🤷♂️
This level of the tome is lazy in its grindy design.
yeah, I really have no fun doing them. Its like it doesnt exist and I get some free BP here and there. WHats the point of it?

Yeah, sorry if I made it seem the problem is only on console. The reality is that the game is just too bad optimized for something that has PS2 graphics at best.
exactly, its a problem which never was taken serious.
Also, I have to tell u something as a 2016 DbD player. I used to have MORE FPS in 2016 than now. Same Laptop. It got worse and worse after each update and engine upgrade. back then I could have easy 60+ FPS on 100% resolution fullscreen. Now I have to play on a smaller screen and 0% resolution (low quality) and I hover around 40 FPS. Its frustrating
-
@[Deleted User] said:
At this point I have already give up having more than 40 FPS on my matches. They could at least delete indoor maps from consoles, because they are utterly disgusting to play right now. Playing as Oni on Hawkin's with 15 FPS against PC survivors who probably have 60 FPS has been one of the most infuriating experiences I've ever had with this game.
There is a thread asking for optimization that probably has more than 500 comments right now and it has stayed on the first page of this forum for weeks, but all the devs can say is that "they are looking into it" without giving a damn date. They promised it more than a year ago, but if anything the game gets WORSE after every update.
Just to throw in: WE PC players suffer with the same performance issues. Its not like DBD PC is better optimised than DBD CONSOLE, no no. They run both terrible. The difference: PC players with a lot money can upgrade to NASA PCs. But thats the minority. Most are have to live with mid to low end PCs which is pretty equivelant to Console Power.

@Angelicus23 said:
new graphics are coming in just 2 weeks you can't wait for those first?
Better graphics = better performance??? What logic is that? Better graphics brings worse performance.
-
5 minutes per DC should be enough. There is no reason to make it escelate because who usually DC all the time because of Salt will just suicide instead. And well, a suicide brings the team into the same 3v1 disadvantage like a DC. Even worse when the Killer has hook perks like pop and BBQ
-
@Heartbound said:
You're fine dude. This game works in mysterious ways. You can @ the mods/devs btw.
I hope Im fine, would be a shame to be banned for a bug I had no control over
@Peanits can you help me out here?
-
So I started using it a bid and the cooldown is waaay to long. The cooldown alone was already restricting to much. I could use it 2-3 times average per match. thats 8+8+8= 24% regress. Less than ONE SINGLE POP KICK!!! And POP doesnt even have a cooldown, I can spam it as long a gen isnt regressing!
Hello devs, dont u see how underwhelming this perk is?
-
@Massquwatt said:
A long time ago infectious freight only used to work with basic attacks and it was garbage until they got rid of the requirement. Having surge activate on any attack wouldn't be too overpowered or anything since the perk heavily requires multiple generators within 32m to be actually affected which is very few scenarios to begin with since most maps have their generators spaced out a lot and most survivors will attempt to run you away from generators too.
and its only 8% regress
-
@wisdomwielder said:
Their argument that the perk could become too strong if they lift the basic attack requirement is bullshit. Know how I know? Nurse. Spirit. Hag.
Everytime I see a great perk limited by a basic attack requirement i roll my eyes so hard they get stuck in the back of my skull because these killers exist and can utilize the perk perfectly fine. But guess what? They don't run it because the perk is still way too niche and limiting, and half the time it doesn't even work. It also needs a range increase to account for the variability in map sizes.
I hate basic attack requirements too, because all it does is shut off a bunch of perks from killers who rely on their special abilities to down people while AT THE SAME TIME, the best killers in the game don't have this requirement. You know who needs a perk like surge? Pyramid Head. But I can't justify taking it because of the stupid basic attack requirement. Which ######### killer is gonna be OP now because they can utilize SURGE???
Ikr? makes ZERO sense!
