It wouldn't nerf demo. It would actually make the greater player base of demos better because actively not using m2s except for to zone for an M1 and hit obsession (what most stbfl demos do) makes you bad at the killer. Demo literally has a medium range huntress hatchet with him as the hatchet as a power and people just don't use it when they have stbfl. Use your M2 and you'll do infinitely better and be a stronger demo. Pig is just an M1 killer. Im fine with stbfl on m1s as they are pretty weak in most cases and the little help stbfl provides is useful to them. But on M2 killers like demo, Wesker, and nemesis using stbfl cause people to use their powers less actively making them worse at the killer

Your implying that people are missing out on doing any damage at all because they don't use shred at all on 3 survivors. This is false... STBFL incentivizes doing an M1 whenever possible on those survivors, but if an M1 is not available, shred I'd still on the table. Nerfing a perk used by Demo is NOT a buff to Demo.

It's where she does the stare, looks away for a couple of seconds, then snaps her head back to stare EXTRA hard, as you say! No survivor was getting up on her watch! :D

I love the implications that Sadako's glare is lethal. It means that when she eats 4 head-ons, a DS and get flashlight blinded all match from someone T bagging every pallet... She's still chill.

  • @Marc_go_solo said:

  • I feel like you don't know how many addons you just complained about. He has several tiers of addons that do the same thing but with varying degrees. Wraith is also a stealth killer, so it's pretty understandable he would focus on surprise attacks as much as possible.

  • @Blueberry said:

When you look at it you're averaging give or take 15 seconds in locked animation of pick up, hook, and walking time.

Now multiply that by each survivor you hook.

Let's say you're at 6/12 hooks. 6x15=90 seconds. That means you lost an entire gen worth of progress in essentially locked animation time. So nothing you can improve at or fix, just sunk time. That's quite pricey.

That's why slugging can look so lucrative, as it's essentially giving you an entire other gen regression perk in saved time.

That's also just sunk time, this isn't even us going into the plethora of perks that can make this even more unlucrative for the killer or the chance of flashlight saves. This at just base.

There's also just the case of knowing your going to lose pressure. If I saw 2 survivors with Bubba for example, I can go ahead and start hooking... but chances are the first survivor I hook is gonna get unhooked as soon as I'm busy with the 2nd. For the most part I just accept that, but if it's a really close match and I need pressure... slugging is a way easier way of keeping up pressure than picking up to hook and giving a giant window of time to recover.

The use is that it hard-caps how long a chase can be, having to do four mini-games after being unhooked (heal/Plaything/mend/cleanse) is way too much and leaves the Survivor way too vulnerable to being tunneled.

Blight and Nurse both get a hefty stagger even when using their powers to traverse the map I don't see why Wesker is exempt, either that or make the first dash longer but the second one shorter so its primary use is in chase, though it would mess a lot of people up so most likely never happening this late into his release.

The reason Wesker is so popular is because his strength compared to his non-existent skillfloor is really egregious, I would like to see that gap reduced substantially so he's not the obvious pick for anyone noob at killer that wants free wins, but not at the cost of reducing his effectiveness for those who actually took the time to master him and play him well at harder skill-brackets.

Blight's dash allows him to travel across the map before going through his stagger, so it's not really comparable. As for Nurse... her map traversal is actually just slightly better than a normal 115% killer walking. She DOES have it nice for not having to find stairs for maps with multiple floors.

Honestly, yeah probably. I believe every game I've played against her has been with Iri tape, comb or some other add-on, that and people dc the moment they see her so it's just me and the bots.

I don't think I've had a single "normal" game against her so it's certainly harder to judge then I'd like.

I had 3 games against her back to back and somehow managed to not get the iri tape. I'm also not a high MMR survivor though, so the ppl I was facing probably don't have a stockpile. All and all, the games were pretty chill, even the one on an indoor map.

What would you think if the next chapter was the original Freddy Krueger and Nancy Thompson was the survivor?

I know this would 99% never happen, but it’s fun to think about.

On one hand I’d be put off… having two versions of the same character as separate characters has always been something I didn’t like in video games. On the other, NoES is my favorite slasher film. He’s my favorite horror icon and I was so disappointed when the remake version was brought into the game instead.

I think it would be cool if they got the OG license and reworked the character while simply making the OG Freddy a new legendary skin and bringing in Nancy as a separate survivor or a legendary for Quentin.

    just an idea…

Would be great if we got voicelines playing during matches like Nick Cage's. If I remember right, OG Freddy said something in particular ALOT....

So does Jeff. Ace does not.

There is a reason for the joke of survivor moans being on a scale of Ace to Jeff.

Also, you have Claire. I am a Claire main, and I know a streamer that used to joke with me and another streamer that was a Claire fan that we were going to get him banned from Twitch by playing her in his streamed games. So, we played in a match with him with both of us playing Claire and running No Mither, just to troll him.

It might actually be things like moans and screams that they made the rule for, but not due to volume. Alot of times, people can recognize a character based off the unique sounds alone. If someone jumps out of a locker while I have iron maiden for example... I can ID which person is exposed based off the scream to know who to hit. If a character is new though... ppl may not be able to recognize them as easily.

It seems like this is talked about a lot in other communities after giving it a google to see what the textbook definition was.

Anyway, I think examples are the best way to show how I personally view the word since people seem to use it very differently. I do think OP goes hand in hand with it but is itself different.

For me overturned is something that is a bit too much in the number/mechanic department but not necessarily strong. While OP is something that is too strong because of a number or mechanic.

As an example, let's take Wraith's blind warrior add-on that inflicts blindness for 60 seconds. Let's buff it to 10 minutes and now it would be way way overtuned but not OP. The number is simply way too high and would need to be toned down.

Now we have something like Tombstone Piece on Myers. This add-on is rather OP as it let's you kill someone for little cost. If you were to increase the stalk cost the add-on would never become overtuned, it would simply cease being OP at a certain point. You could also say the same of old Iri head.

Then we have something like 3-gen Merchant. She's not OP as it's very much a beatable strategy but is instead overtuned as it shouldn't take 30+ minutes to win for either side. You could however say her ability to make people DC is in fact OP.

New Sadoko is an example of something I would consider both overtuned and OP. Her ability to kill you for so little investment is rather OP while her teleport is overtuned since you can use it often and it gives stacks to the entire team.

Just a few examples I came up with off the top of my head and is very much opinion based.

I feel like Sadako players might be strongly skewing ppls perception simply because alot of them are spamming her iri addon. USUALLY while holding a tape. You're shown the auras of every TV. You can make a mental note of them for future use, while also keeping an eye on the closest ones to know when Sadako is using them.

The Iri tape isn't just making you run far, but also robbing you of very helpful info. Without that addon, I can basically keep track of everywhere she teleports to.

-Infection Cleansed when put on hook

-Reduced Stagger when being thrown into objects

-Bigger recoil when missing dashes, though not by much

They can buff him elsewhere, but these are the changes I'd like to see to reduce his tunnel abilities and to raise his skill-floor. They already put in the grabbing over vaults/pallets which was another change I wanted, so we're off to a good start.

I feel like some of those changes have glaring flaws. If infection is cleansed off hook for example, the infection has very little use. You would have to infect someone, then leave them to give them any reason to look for the spray.

The stagger after missing would basically prevent Wesker from using his dash for map traversal. That's basically the reason ppl don't use Demogorgon's shred to get around. Demo has portals though, where Wesker is just using the dash.

  • @Sharby said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3499789#Comment_3499789

I would say OP means a full nerf with 0 readjustment or compensation. But in Wesker's case a slight nerf with some compensation elsewhere would do.

That's just my definition though, I'm sure it changes from person to person.

What do you think should be nerfed on Wesker? Usually when ppl suggest a Wesker nerf, they don't really say anything in particular and alot of the ppl suggesting are just hoping he gets less popular because they don't want to face him so much. Do you think his dash goes too far? Recharges too fast? Does his increased TR offer him too much of a bonus, even though it was meant as a drawback?

  • @Sharby said:

Wesker is overtuned, Blight and Nurse are OP.

    Hope this helps.

So like Op means needs rework while overtuned means number tweaks will do?

That's what some others were saying, which now I'm thinking these particular killers.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/385753/what-does-overtuned-mean

You can use them interchangeably to a degree since anything overpowered is by its very definition overtuned. Though generally when someone says something is overtuned they usually mean that specific feature has more strength/efficiency/functionality than it needs, but isn't necessarily extremely difficult to beat or game breaking.

Proving something is overturned is a lot more difficult and subjective than proving something is overpowered. Overpowered things tend to have very obvious outsized effects on the game that. Overtuned things are strong, but not so strong that they feel out of place in scope and affect. For exampled an overtuned perk would likely be the current version of Buckle Up while an overpowered perk would be the first version of Hex Ruin.

Hex Ruin had an extremely negative effect on the game that was hard to miss and that effect could experienced no matter who used it. The only thing that contained it in any degree was that it was a hex perk and og hex spawns were turbo dog water. The current Buckle Up could be said to be overtuned due to it's combo potential.

Someone in a thread labeled STBFL as overtuned, which is what got me thinking. It's a perk only used on some low or mid tier killers, so it really feels like the term is just... something to say.

  • @GannTM said:

Overtuned is when basic numbers are too high while OP is that the effect itself is too strong.

I'm pretty sure I heard "overtuned" alot when ppl were talking about Billy and defending the overheat thing. So these people actually meant OP since they weren't suggesting a longer charge time or slower sprint?

  • @Pulsar said:

It's not to the point of it being overpowered, just that it's better than comparable perks, items or Killers.

Overtuned just means it needs some adjustments eventually

So something that can wait, as opposed to something that causes people to freak on the forums and claim it'll kill the game?

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Nah. OP is stronger than overtuned. Overtuned is basically "a bit too strong" while OP is "way too strong".

So they are like tiers of saying "too powerful, needs nerfs"?

  • @sizzlingmario4 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3499413#Comment_3499413

Whether STBFL is nerfed or not, the reason it’s not as impactful on some of the stronger killers is not because of their strength but simply because of the nature of their power and relying more on special attacks (and in the case of Nurse, being almost completely dependent on them). Trickster for example isn’t a very strong killer in most situations but STBFL isn’t a good pick on him since he primarily deals damage with knives.

As for the potential loss of stacks from outside events like Plot Twist and bear traps, I don’t think it’s a big deal and don’t think it would be common enough to significantly weaken the perk overall. There are also other perks that benefit from these outside events, eg. Blood Favor can activate and Remember Me can gain tokens from survivors losing health states to traps or even from FTP or Plot Twist. This isn’t any different really. If I turn out to be wrong and this becomes too common, it could be changed to losing tokens on basic attacks or any special attack coming directly from the killer (and not outside events), like how Third Seal currently works.

Bringing up Trickster is kind of odd. Like you said, he's not a good candidate for the perk. We should probably talk about perks actually USED by certain killers rather than bring up killers who never use them. The perk is not making strong killers stronger, but rather giving low and mid tier killers help. These are the only killers being affected by a STBFL nerf. Why is it so important to nerf Pig, lol?

  • @Ayodam said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3499460#Comment_3499460

I don’t think those oblivious add-ons are good because you can still hear his lullaby. Tbf though oblivious doesn’t seem to block any killer’s lullaby.

You miss read. I said blindness, not oblivious. Sheep block for example causes blindness, which blocks survivor aura reading. This would allow Freddy to counter perks like WOO after a survivor walks through his snares.

  • @Ayodam said:

I’d be fine with him having both of dream pallets weren’t affected by Windows, By Any Means Necessary or Smash Hit. Like if they didn’t create an aura for those perks sure why not.

Feel like Freddy's blindness addons would see some use

I assume most brand new people have no idea what the Bloodwebs even do and therefore wouldn't level anything hence them being brand new to the game. Is that a joke btw? :P I ask because I fail to see how him having Dream Pallets by default would nerf him in any way.

    @IlliterateGenocide said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3499427#Comment_3499427

I don't see how having both powers at once would ever be considered a nerf? Sure dream pallets aren't great but if you could use both at the same time they would see more use

I feel like maybe I misunderstood something. Your asking for BOTH abilities? I assumed you meant to just switch which ability was the addon, hence me calling it a nerf.

  • I feel like most people would see this as a nerf, lol. Also, dream pallets require pretty easy to obtain addons. Any newbie playing Freddy for the first time is going to see the dream pallet addons, unless they decided to play him without lvling his bloodweb AT ALL, or reading his in-game skill description, or doing basically any out of game reading...besides that description you referenced.

So... I feel like the only thing that should be changed is maybe the description you saw.

  • @sizzlingmario4 said:

It’s been overtuned since 6.1.0 imo and it’s also too effective for camping when it should be a chase perk.

I think tokens should be lost anytime the obsession loses a health state (not just m1s) and it should be reduced to 4% per token for a maximum reduction of 32% to basically offset the base cooldown reduction and return it to be more like how it was before because the perk definitely did not need the indirect buff.

As for concerns such as “this hurts weak killers like Pig”, they need changes regardless. If STBFL is helping them that much, that issue should be exposed so those weaker killers can get proper buffs.

This perk is almost entirely run by those weaker killers though. Stronger killers like Nurse can't get stacks without doing a normal M1. The strongest killer you'd be hitting with a nerf to this perk is would be Deathslinger, who can PARTIALLY offset the downside. I would understand it if this was a great perk for more high tiered killers, but it's not and your change is ONLY going to affect handful of low or mid tier killers.

Sidenote... your idea would also unintentionally cause stacks to be lost all over the place. Survivors lose health states from stepping in trappers traps for example. Should the killer lose stacks for a blind survivor on the other end of the map? Or the Pig addon that injures survivors if they miss a skillcheck on boxes. Should Pig lose stacks? Or... anytime plot twist is used at all.

    https://youtu.be/FeHGtcmHua0

Here's a video of a pair farming autodidact tokens using plot twist. Should the killer be hemorrhaging their STBFL stacks?

  • You realize simply having that toggle exist would further split the playerbase and cause your waittimes to be even longer, right?

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3499354#Comment_3499354

Because it works like 10 stacks after killer base-kit buffed. And some killers can keep stacks because their power allows to do this. Why m1 killers can't?

Most of M2 killers your talking about don't bother with this perk since they need M1 hits to gain stacks to begin with. Typically their M2 hits are just better. Why bother getting STBFL stacks on Billy when I can just chainsaw everyone? This would only end up affecting a limited number of killers like Pig and Demo. Those killers are not problematic.

  • It's fine as it is. Why is it an "issue" that some killers who arnt even high tier synergize with it? Why we trying to nerf Pig and Demogorgan?

if a survivor has endurance wesker just smacks them with his power, it doesnt pick them up

They're talking about BEFORE that. You can't use FTP on someone being carried, and Wesker can skip putting someone in the dying state and go straight to carrying.

  • @LobbyDodgerLeonidas said:

It's fine. There's counterplay just wait out the 10 seconds of endurance. It's good for killer because it means at least 2 people off gens

While it's true that a survivor got off gens to assist a teammate, if the killer isn't allowed to keep any down they get, it really doesn't matter. You still have survivors doing gens and the killer is unable to maintain any pressure. The only way to actually stop this is to ensure EVERY survivor around is injured before downing anyone.

    You can't round RNG.

The 4% of 3 chances is 4% that you try 3 times.

If you have a 10% drop chance of an item killing an NPC,that doesn't mean you get an item at the 10th try.

    RNG isn't calculations,it's RNG...

You can still calculate probability. For your example of a 10% chance 10 times for example...

65.13215599% is the probability. You don't multiply 10 times 10 to get 100%

You have 4% chance to unhook yourself, and 3 tries.

He rounded... The probability of at least 1 success after 3 attempts at 4% per attempt is 11.5265%

    1 - (1 - 0.04)^3 = 0.115264
