smart but then i'd probably feel bad for tricking them after lol

Helps if your playing a killer with memeable mechanics. Tbag around as Ghostface, do Clown's bottle refill dance, Spam Pig's Roar, Hit the Bell as Wraith, ect. They come out to boop the Pig's snoot...and you ATTACK!!!

  • Do you think it would be an acceptable change to just thicken the smoke on the survivor side so it still limits vision without the motion sickness? This kinda reminds me of old flashlight blinds. The screen would go really bright as if it's trying to blind the PLAYER too.

  • @Alice_pbg said:

no you see... you can't put tapes on vcrs that have no power.

on a more serious note, it's really not hard to find a tv. on most maps

The problem ppl are having is finding one turned on. If Sadako is spamming her teleport every 10 seconds, she's constantly keeping the majority of the TVs on the map off. This leaves 2 or 3 TVs for you and your teammates to find and compete over.

  • @Hex_Llama said:

It's tough, because I think the old TVs were too easy to manage, but the new TVs are too hard. Maybe it should be that, when you get within a certain distance of a TV, you can see the aura, and the distance increases the more condemned you have.

I feel like that's fair, although maybe not let it work mid chase so it doesn't give away Sadako's next teleport if she's trying to utilize it mid chase. Start the aura reading like 5 seconds after chase drops.

  • To put simply, your allowed to spare whoever you want. As long as the other survivor is not helping you kill their teammate by purposefully blocking pallets or giving away their position, it's not working with the killer.

  • Would be funny if BHVR changes the D/C penalty to a SM match. Anytime you DC, your next match is against a SM.

  • At least you have Inner Healing, which is a general perk. Personally, I usually just bring bond as my "healing perk" so I can find a teammate to heal me up or to see if they are running the killer near me.

I looked forward to that game but old gen has no crossplay so I won't play it for now.

I was actually contemplating getting a PS5 soon, so... might be a game I pick up. I didn't bother with the evil dead game or Friday the 13th, but this might be a pretty chill party game to fall back on when DBD gets me stressed.

  • @humanbeing1704 said:

I also feel like solo queue killer in that game will be borderline unplayable

Doesn't it have voice chat though?

  • @Shaped said:

Sometimes if survs tbag at the gates for no reason but theres no egc on console so ...

Also I rarely see kindness from killers so not sure why should I care anymore. I embraced us vs them since there is no other way these days.

I actually embraced that mentality for everything.

I don't play on PC anymore, but I use to. I had the mindset of the game is over when the last survivor dies/leaves. No reason to keep treating ppl as the enemy in EGC. Generally I'd just say GG or if it was a really stressful game and I don't wanna blow up on someone...I'd just leave. I actually use to screenshot especially juicy EGC saltiness and post it on here. If you look at my old threads, you can find em pretty easy.

My PC died and I've just been playing on my switch abit now so...no more chat.

  • @Xernoton said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3503359#Comment_3503359

That is definitely possible. Strength in numbers can go a long way.

However, I'd argue that playing killer is more stressful. And when you are stressed, you are more likely to act or react irrational and blow up as a consequence.

It doesn't really matter who does it more though. What matters is that we all try to stay positive.

I wasn't necessarily saying it's killer vs survivor. It's not exactly uncommon for SWFs to terrorize their solo Q teammates.

  • @Xernoton said:

I know what you mean. The amount of times I've rescued someone in end game and regretted it as soon as they reached the gate isn't exactly low.

Last year I encountered a Hillbilly in a game and it was obvious that this guy was struggling and didn't have a lot of experience with the killer. They tried their best and got someone (I think it was a Meg) down in end game and hooked them but didn't resort to camping. I came for the rescue (because I find it kind of dick-ish to not even try, if you get a chance) and when we reached the exit gates, the Meg started spamming her macros at the killer. That felt awful to watch and I wished I could put her right back on that hook. The end game chat wasn't much better. A lot of "ez"s and random insults.

Neither side should try to make their opponent feel bad but because there are 4 survivors and 1 killer in each game it seems like it comes from the survivor side more often. Though, statistically it's probably about the same, so take that with a grain of salt.

It just makes me kind of sad to see that we can't accept when someone plays good or maybe even better than ourselves. I am not free of fault by any means (sometimes you just get salty) but I don't go as far as writing death threats or try to make someone feel bad about themself.

I feel like often times people will attack the killer more because they have people behind them. Some stuff people do, they WOULDNT do if they were alone.

  • @ratcoffee said:

as a survivor i hate it when my teammates taunt like that. the only acceptable exceptions are if the killer has clearly been playing super-toxic (example: the killer was trying to bleed out a 4 slug but an unbreakable play turned it into a 4 out), or if it's super clear that it's sarcastic (example: the hatch randomly spawns on the last slug after the killer gets a 3k with 5 gens left)

I would do those sarcastic "taunts" alot, mostly if I just escaped out of pity. Killer carries me to hate at 5 gens... They KNOW I'm just playing with a GGEZ

The fact you say that tells me a lot about you as a player of dbd. This combo does not require slugging for it to work. A lot of us have had this combo used right after we down someone and are in the cooldown from hitting someone. If it was for slugging or tunneling then I would be all for it but it isn't. It punishes killers for just playing the game and that's not a good design imo.

It's basically a return of old syringes, except it can be used multiple times.

Well I have a feeling anything that picks you up off the floor the developers would consider the same category. The devs would be the ones categorizing so I'm sure there would be some questionable choices.

Could also assign point values to perks. This would justify some perks being stronger than others. You could make a load out with 3 Meta perks that use all your allotted points, or pick weaker perks allowing your load out to have more of them.

  • @Nazzzak said:

I'm pretty sure they're all programmed to be different in the same way players are all different, so some are better than others and it's just luck of the draw. I had two bots against a Nurse yesterday. One was useless and couldn't last seconds in chase so was out asap. The other one was cracked and kept running the killer until she'd give up chase. I'd heal her up and she'd be back to running the killer. She outlasted me and the other player, zero hook states, and I'm pretty sure she made a hatch play because she didn't save me off hook 🤣

I'm just imagining a toxic bot T bagging you afew times and doing afew fake unhook attempts before leaving you on hook. Next update will have them type in endgame chat "GGEZ, my teammates sucked".

You mean like if I use Unbreakable I can't also use Plot Twist and what not correct? As both of those perks sort of cover the same area.

I would actually consider plot twist more of a healing perk, similar to Inner healing.

  • Unrelenting doesn't speed up successful attack cooldown... that would legit do nothing.

  • @indieeden7 said:

The only thing I would change about it is make it so it doesn't take effect within X metres of a hooked survivor, I feel as though this restriction should also linger in the same area for a second or two after the survivor is unhooked.

Don't see why the people who are claiming it's a chase perk are seemingly against any sort of change to make it so the killer can't just camp for free.

I guess it really depends on how generous your making that X. 4 meters isn't gonna affect anyone who's chase leafs to the general area of a hook while 16 most definitely will.

  • @Ayodam said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3503194#Comment_3503194

It still technically requires a slug to work. And the devs need to move away from the habit of deactivating survivor perks during endgame. Endgame shouldn’t by itself give the killer unearned advantages.

It doesn't need a slug to work though. Anytime a killer downs anyone, it can come into play before the killer is finished wiping their weapon. A killer can have every intention of immediately hooking and this will still act the same way. This isn't an anti-slug, but rather an anti-down.

  • I'd be ok with this as long as the slots could only be used for certain perk types. This would prevent stacking effects from breaking the game and result instead in people having more balanced builds.

That's true. Neither one of us was willing to accept the loss. I fully admit that/ However as someone who plays both sides, I would be the killer letting the survivor open the door.

And I'd be the survivor crawling to hook rather than complaining about bleeding out. Somehow your time wasn't THAT important to you in the moment though.

If I had told his name, it would be different (even if it wasn't against the forum rules to do so) but you are making assuptions about my intent being to "shame' him. This is a discussion about certain types of gameplay being unfun. Forcing me to just sit there for four whole minutes staring at my screen, unable to do ANYTHING. Again, and again, I have said that survivors and killers are allowed to play however they want as long as they are not breaking any rules, but that doesn't mean others have to like it.

Take this recent video by SkyFaction. I've started doing this, it's super funny. Most survivors I've gone against that were not console have been like 'gg" or laughing with me... but I also had one that got very angry and called me trash. He didn't find it funny, so I apologized that he did not, and wished him luck on his next games. Also note how most of the streamers SkyFaction went against are laughing with him. The one that's not? That's okay, as his negative comments are valid, just as my screenshot above is valid.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anladTkB2DA

You bleeding out on the ground WAS also caused by your own actions. I might agree with you if you had crawled away from that spot, which IS an action you could have done. You COULD have crawled to a hook so YOU can give up rather than expect the killer to. You could have started crawling to the open exit gate, or look around for the hatch. You chose to do none of that. If this pic was you laying next to a hook, you'd have a point. This is instead similar to old hatch standoffs with 2 people calling each other sweaty, only in this case... the killer knows he'll win in afew minutes.

There is no 'race'. Killers are naturally faster than survivors. Wraith is faster than some killers when cloaked. It's not even blocking window Vaults it's literally running with/into you no matter where you try and go, and sometimes even forcing you into walls/holding you at gens where you can't move etc as he unloaks to hit you. It's a busted mechanic and the one thing that makes him such a bore to play against because it feels cheap.

It's utilizing his power in such a way to get hits, same as every other killer in the game. If you got bodyblocked into a gen, I would recommend picking a side of the gen away from a wall. How is this anymore "cheap" than other killers using THEIR abilities in chase to score hits? You make it sound like Wraith's power is stronger in chase than other killers powers.

  • @Xernoton said:

Have him start in tier 2. Completely rework tier 1 to be more of a ressource than a downside. Have stalk replenish over time. Probably some mobility as well.

Like, have you ever seen Michael Myers just casually walking around the streets in one of the Halloween movies? No. Because he is just kind of there and then he disappears. There are a lot hints that Myers seems to manifest himself from darkness throughout the different movies.

Resistance to stuns and Brutal Strength base kit in tier 3. Not like Sadako but more of a reduced stun time. Lastly, some new addons. No more Tombstone Piece.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3502358#Comment_3502358

Myers already has a 16 metres TR in tier 2.

You talking about doing something similar to Jason being able to teleport around the map in the F13 game?

  • @ARTRA said:

T1 to T2 should be instant, just enought for a first jumpscare and start a chase.

A button to activate T3 like Onis rage, instead of 99% you reach 100% and press thst button. Is mostly the same , mostly a QoL.

Juice from survivors dont end OR recharge over time.

Smaller terror radious in T2 (28 merers?).

Something new that helps mayers not be basic M1.

    Addon pass.

28 meter TR in T2 would be LARGER, not smaller

Thats just me, bro. You do you. I’d rather let someone escape versus bleed out. There are times as survivor I don’t wiggle out either because I know it’s just the back and forth and I’d rather just let them have the kill. Not everyone plays that way.

I understand that. Sometimes I go for the 4k, sometimes I chuck the Meg who was being a cutie all match down the hatch. What I DONT do though is post screenshots whenever my opponents don't let me win and shame them for it. This comes across as very hypocritical like I said.

Had a match recently where I got slugged and my teammate hooked, resulting in me crawling around looking for hatch. I FOUND hatch and was about 2 meters away from getting it... when the killer got there just in time to close it. I didn't run to the forums to rant about the killer not just letting me escape, but rather inwardly griped about being SO close...and moved on.

  • @DavidHypnos said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3502729#Comment_3502729

Guess I don’t care that much to do that. Would rather try to get the hook and if it fails it fails.

I'm guessing that's HOW they knew it was a hook deadzone. I've been in this situation before where it was impossible to get a survivor to a hook who just kept running back to the starting line. I find it kinda its hypocritical for the same person saying "the killer should've just let me escape" couldn't just LET the killer get the hook either. That ALSO wouldve prevented a waste of time. When you decide to bleed out in a hook deadzone rather than crawl to a hook, it shows the time needed to bleedout WASNT what got them upset, but rather that they lost

  • @DavidHypnos said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3502305#Comment_3502305

I mean… the Ghost Face could’ve just let you wiggle free and escape? When I play killer I would much rather do that then let you bleed out for 2 minutes… I guess the 4k isn’t that important to me to want to do something that low.

Isn’t it also a bit unfair for someone to say GF was justified in slugging because there weren’t any hooks available? I’ve had many people complain about using perks like Boil Over, Blast Mine, etc. but they’re in place to give the survivor an advantage. Is it not an advantage to just slug someone because you can’t make it to the next hook?

This wasn't even a 4k. The other gate is open and someone already escaped. Killer just preferred a 3k over a 2k after finding and downing someone.

  • @mustdogen said:

Please make him can't run out his ability.

If making survivors can't run out their juice is really that crazy, can they at least make survivor slowy restore their juice with time?

I feel like this right here is the way to go SPECIFICALLY so 1 AFK/completely oblivious survivor doesn't feed ALL of the stalk needed for an infinite T3 or something, lol.

  • I would make it so the juice from survivors slowly recharges over time so he's not just left without a power by the end of the game. I'd be completely ok with sacrificing Tombstone piece into the fires of Mt Doom for this.

  • @AbsolutGrndZer0 said:

I could say the same thing about killers. This was my first match tonight. This Ghost Face could not accept me escaping. He'd already used all the hooks around the door, so I would wiggle out no matter what he did. I wasn't even running Boil Over.

Thing is, as annoying as this is, I let it slide because in the end it's just a game. It took me the full 2 minutes to bleed out because while a survivor is slugged, the EGC slows.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/0OJMR3A4P47B/20230802204332-1.jpg

So for the record, your saying the only reason why he slugged you was because he couldn't get you to a hook? That sounds like a completely acceptable reason to slug.

  • Survive with Feng

  • Would be nice to have at least kb/m support for consoles. I don't understand how that's such a big ask. I can plug a controller into a PC and play, but any keyboard I plug into a console can only be used to type with.

So during that chase, that the killer did to get the survivor on the hook to camp them, your entire team didn't do anything?

I just wanna point out hook trading is an option. STBFL is a non-factor against killers who arnt going through chases and thus arnt building stacks. Since hook grabs are removed, it's pretty easy to do a hook trade and have the survivor on hook get away with the built in endurance. That being said, you should still utilize as much time on each hook as you can to crank out gens. Do it right and the killer won't even get a 1k.

  • @not_Queef said:

Because they hope to be spared when Skynet takes over.

I'm just picturing Arnold slaughtering everyone, then finds a guy cowering in the corner... leans in and whispers..."Gg", before walking away.

  • That's 1 post... It's also not even a situation where STBFL comes into play. In order to have STBFL work, you have to build stacks. If your camping the first person, you'd have at most 2 stacks.

I'm in a love-hate relationship with facing Wesker. On the one hand, I really like it cause he is a really engaging killer to face with so many ways things can go and skill on both sides being rewarded. - But I hate starfishing in thin air and get really mad about apparently having collision with empty space. I know it's necessary mechanically but oh man, how I hate that the visuals don't reflect how the mechanic works. ---- Plus, after the fifth or so Wesker in a row I've had about enough of him 😶[[Fun fact: the vast majority of Weskers may be rather sweaty - but they're also goofballs at heart and there have been so many funny interactions :3]]

Other than Wesker... there aren't really many other killers that hit that kind of sweet spot. Bubba is funny because it's Bubba. I also always like the looming threat of Tombstone Myers whenever it's a Myers. Blight without the busted add-ons is also fun, same goes for Pinhead. Oni and Demo are also usually pretty interesting matches. I've seen about a hundred too many sloppy silent bell Wraiths and proxy camping huntresses to look forward to matches against those two.

The same janky environment hitboxes that has Wesker slamming people into air has been irritating Huntress players for years. Seeing a hatchet disappear because it got too close to a twig sucks.

You underestimate how many contrarians lurk around these parts.

People will literally jump to the defense of anything as long as its part of their team. The same people defending hit and run will defend anything, and they also defended the Eruption/Gen-Kick meta.

They'll lazily use the subjectivity/hivemind argument which completely shuts down any discussion, so there's no real use arguing.

Hit and Run is a tactic that is encouraged in that it works well with various perks as well as various killers. The devs wouldnt introduce things like thanaphobia or nurses calling if they were against the play style. This isn't even a playstyle unique to stealth killers. Hag for example hits anyone who triggers a trap while Oni only gets blood orbs from injured survivors or putting survivors from healthy to injured.

Not every killer is designed to go on 2 hit chases, and most chase centered killers have been hit with a nerf bat after complaints that they can bypass things a trapless trapper cant. It's really puzzling at this point what killers survivors DO want to face.

this community is whiny yes, but how is hit and run not widely considered boring though? Everyone agrees chases are the most fun part right?

i don’t think a single person wants a hit and run meta to exist. Otherwise we‘ll get an even worse 3 gen meta with everyone just healing for half the match (although considering how long COH existed, I’m not surprised people will be okay with that).

i don’t even hate that many killers. There’s only like 5 killers I even partly dislike and spirit is the only killer I think needs to just be eradicated from existence (because why the ######### would they make such an accessibility nightmare).

People's likes and dislikes vary. That includes people who like longer chases and people who prefer hit and run tactics. That's also why we have a variety when it comes to killers. People playing Trapper or Hag for example obviously don't care to run jungle gyms and such. Ghostface's most popular addons on release were his cooldown addons for the sake of hit and run. People LIKED pairing it together with perks like Nurses calling.

  • @jajay119 said:

The only thing I don't like about him is how he can, and most do, body block you. He shouldn't have collision when cloaked.

In general, Nurse, Dredge, Spirit, Cenobite and skull merchant are all way more unpleasant.

That's basically the best (and only) thing his power can do for chases though. Taking that away removes the 1 thing for chases that separates him from a trapless trapper.

  • @Seraphor said:

I used it outside of a chase once. I screamed, killer made a beeline for me, hooked and camped me.

Killers should not be hitting faster than the unhook animation. Which is 2.0 seconds. Compared to old versions or not, it’s cheese in the game.

My prescription would be to lower the effectiveness of STBFL or increase the unhook timer.

And the cheeseheads in this thread whomst think killers have a right to camp hooks, and tell survivors to just not save: That is killer entitlement in its purest and I believe the developers have made it clear they are doing away with that level of camping. Clutch your pearls.

This game needs to encourage the chase interactions and not strategies that supersede it.

You say we should focus on chase interactions on a thread focusing on nerfing a chase perk... because it can be equipped on someone who camps. Also, I'm not seeing a bunch of posts saying "killers have the right to camp" on this thread.

  • @I_CAME said:

Disable it in the end game. The entire argument for DS and OTR not working in the end game is that it has no counterplay in certain situations. What is a solo team supposed to do against a killer who is facecamping with max stacks of save? It's a no win scenario. The only real choice you have is to leave and let the person on the hook die.

Drain the stacks using the obsession. If the killer refuses to leave the hook to down the obsession, you can heal them and get them to drain MORE stacks.
