"ultimate weapon" from alien. killers should not be given this kind of free information without cooldown and consequence.

30 seconds is too much, + giving blindness effect, the perk is OP alone.

even "nowhere to hide" is short for same effect.

    It does have a cooldown

    killers shouldnt see survivor prestiges.

I was just wondering WHEN this happened. The way the name and background is setup now just looks like something is missing.

  • What was the reason?

  • I had 1 game load error earlier, but haven't had any problem since.

  • I hear ya... It's the reason Darkness revealed is so uncommon. Every Huntress main weeps when they have to go on a trek to reload.

  • I'm just imagining the sudden shift of overly polite in-game chats for ppl trying to game the system to get a reward. That being said... that beats the toxicity we currently have.

I think there is a lot of times when people cry tunnel when they really don't know what happened. I got told I tunneled the other day. I hooked an Ada, and then went looking and found and hooked a Zarina. Meanwhile the Dwight unhooks the Ada. After my hook, I walk back towards the gen I found Zarina at, and what do I find, Dwight healing Ada. He runs, she doesn't. Yes, I'm taking that hit. Now, she's on death hook. I chase Dwight get a hit and he runs me into Zarina healing Ada. I swing at all 3 and Ada goes down. Yes, I'm going to hook her.

Now to the Jake running gens and not doing anything else, probably looks like a tunnel. But, if the team runs me to the same person there is not much I can do.

You have those cases, and you have the cases of ppl who are ONLY looking at the hook states. Why did I hook the Kate 3 times before I hooked the Dwight once you ask? Because that Dwight was amazing at looping forcing me to leave him while the Kate kept trying to hide in the same locker next to the worked on gen.

Sometimes... people just have different skill levels.

But thats wven more dumb because killers are just plain faster that sirvivors by default. Even with MFT they still are. Lol

The run speed is faster, which is why survivors are giving faster vault speeds and such to gain distance. Killers can then vault and give distance, or walk to a nearby doorway and give distance.

  • Only thing I would change with the perk is how it wakes up sleeping survivors against Freddy. The devs said they wanted to remove perks that target specific powers, but kinda forgot about this one.

Xeno is iconic and the tail swipe is insane + forgiving. It will be the most popular killer.

I was never a huge Alien fan, but from what I've seen gameplay wise... he looks pretty damn good.

  • @MrPenguin said:

Doubtful imo as I don't think they're nearly as strong nor as simple as Wesker.

Yeah they have fan appeal but so does GF, Myers, ect. and they aren't seen to that degree.

Plus the turrets are an additional annoyance factor.

Unlike GF and Myers though, Xeno has map traversal and his power seems like it'll grant way more hits you can't do with a M1. I also don't think the turrents will be THAT much of a pain. Seems like DE pumped the brakes after Singularity got screwed by EMPs.

  • @Xendritch said:

No because Xeno isn't as easy mode as Wesker in terms of the skill floor, you actually need to take a bit of time to learn them and then even when you do they're not as strong as Wesker.

I do think Xeno will be massively popular on release and they'll probably retain a following even after the hype dies down but they'll be like other big movie killers like Myers and Ghost Face where they're somewhat common but definitely not on the level of Wesker, Blight, Huntress.

On the topic of Xeno on controller they're most fine honestly definitely not on the level of Oni or Billy or even Huntress. Basically if you can play Executioner or Nemesis on controller then you should be able to handle Xeno. Although you are as short as Hag and that probably will put some people off on it's own.

Have you tried playing Xeno with a controller?

Oh yeah, morale is definitely a factor when it gets down to two survivors left. But I'm frustrated beyond belief by how often this non-participation is going on from the beginning with all four survivors still in the match. The HUD shows them doing nothing, and then my friend or I will get downed to see the other two survivors are getting in and out of lockers or just hanging out on the second story of some building doing nothing. This was a serious problem before the event, but now it happens in at least half of our matches if not more.

This happens with aggressive killers, farming killers, and AFK killers. The survivors are the problem. I see many survivors who escape with fewer than 8k points. That shouldn't be possible.

I can sorta understand on indoor maps, because finding gens can be a pain... but I've seen it happen on every map. Personally... I've been bringing Deja vu lately so I'm not the unproductive teammate.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

A lot of my teammates make it really easy on the killer by not playing. They UE around the edges of the map, they get birds in lockers, and they absolutely avoid gens. Annoyingly even the bots are playing the same way. The AI loves to sandbag just like the jerks it's replacing.

Unless you chain killers to the ground so they can't move, there's no way to balance for that garbage. Trying to play the current event with my friend is miserable. Our teammates are hiding while we take all the aggro. If the killer sees them, they sandbag us on our nearly finished gen, pop it to steal the bonus BP, and then go back into hiding. How can the killer not win in these matches?

I feel like morale is also a factor. The amount of times it'll be 2 survivors left and my random teammate does NOTHING is infuriating. 1 gen left, I'm leading the killer on a long chase while keeping an eye on the HUD to see nothing at all. We both DEFINITELY could've escaped, but now it's gonna be a hatch game.

So your issue is with the motivation of the players rather than the mechanic itself.

The PTB tests the latter, that's its purpose.

My problem is it obscures data. It's hard to determine how effective the killer is performing when you have ppl spamming a speed glitch. How are you suppose to determine how the ACTUAL new mechanics are performing? The survivors facing this just see a train barreling them down. That's likely to make its way to the feedback section on how the killer ends chases too quickly.

  • This is a nice "biggest problem" to have. I wish EVERY killer's biggest problems were their addons. Unfortunately many of them have bigger problems.

  • Nurse has gotten nerfed several times. Asking for a nerf in the blanket term rather than something specific doesn't really help the conversation. As long as the killer is USABLE, you're gonna have people who excel with her.

Agreed as someone who rarely uses add ons(legit keep forgetting to put them on) I would rather have meh green add ons and a decent basekit which is why I'm glad basekit xenomorph looks fun and is decently powerful

Well yeah that's what the PTB is for.

This one thing happened once is not an effective enough reason for change during testing.

This repeatable problem is leveraged easily and often, its a bug that needs change.

That's how the PTB works, no sense in calling for the PTB to not be used as intended which is to showcase and test the viability of mechanics.

At what point is it not "testing" anymore? I'm seeing YouTube videos of people just DECIMATING teams. I'm pretty just they got their testing out of the way BEFORE they did the intro. The PTB is also meant to test balance. Cheating is only going to give a bad idea on where the character needs changes before it hits live. I would hate for inappropriate nerfs to come down as a result of people abusing an exploit.

    Sidenote...

The last video I saw had the guy going "I don't know if this is a glitch or intended..." over and over. Like who are you fooling?

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/387215/do-you-think-tunnelling-is-fair

Lets clear up the misconception here.

"Tunneling" only happens when a killer returns back to hook and ignores the rescuer to double tap the rescued.

If you get rescued and use basekit BT to bodyblock, you've essentially agreed to another chase, this is not tunneling.

If you get rescued and get organically found again before anyone else, thats not tunneling.

If the other survivor goes for a risky rescue in the killers TR, and you get downed + hooked again, thats not tunneling thats your teammate's mistake being punished.

    etc etc.

    ---------

I can guarantee you, 99% of "tunneling" claims are due to a rescuer using basekit BT to bodyblock and getting punished, a risky rescue getting punished (for example, going down for a basement rescue when the killer didn't even make it past 5 feet out of shack). Or just being generally unlucky and being on the gen the killer checked.

First analyze what happened then you can understand what went wrong. if your teammate goes for a risky rescue and causes you to be downed and hooked again, thats on your teammate, not the killer.

Mistakes should be punished, not rewarded or erased.

    --------

Camping? it takes 120 seconds for someone to go from 1st hook to death. your 3 teammates can pop 3 gens and put the other 2 on half progress in 120 seconds.

If you see a camping killer, just do your gens instead of staring at the killer while furiously pointing at the survivor rulebook for killers page #265 line #23 "Killers shall not be within 50 meters of a hook for more than 5 seconds after hooking someone"

That's quite a book, but overall I agree. People tend to use that basekit BT to bodyblock, and then killers are left with the same thought they had BEFORE basekit BT. "Why should I chase the healthy survivor who is now even FURTHER away from me rather than the injured survivor." People also have a tendency of going out of their way to FIND the killer to get value out of their perks like OTR.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/387329/why-do-ppl-exploit-bugs-in-the-ptb

Is it bugged because theres some killers that act similar? (Plague twins and knight?) But i guess since it directly does a certain thing. Makes sense. Glad i havent run into it on the survivor end. On the killer end i havent used it.

I'm guessing the tail attack isn't coded correctly. I know when they reworked Nurse so blink attacks no longer counted as basic attacks, they had the same problem. They accidentally made a 3rd type of attack rather than it being a "special attack".

Honestly, they aren't good, really at all, imo.

The Iri is wild though. After coming out of a tunnel, if a Survivor stuns you during a 10 second period, they take damage. If they are already damaged, they get Deep Wounds.

Honestly, considering how strong the base power is... I wasn't really expecting anything crazy. I'd rather have a strong base power and meh addons than having a meh base power and strong addons. This way, I can toss on some cheap stuff and not feel like I'm missing out.

  • I remember the topic of removing the hitbox to stop people from BMing was brought up before. Killers had no problem giving up a tool of BMing in exchange for removing a survivor's riot shield, lol. yes that was another buff to the add-on. the global aura reading is good because you can teleport to a wrong portal, see someone on another gen then teleport to that portal. portals are so much more rewarding to use. sucks that changes makes demo portals less fun to use.

Sure, I was just commenting to correct your statement that it is now in a worse state than before its buff. CLEARLY it's not.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3509328#Comment_3509328

its in worse state then before it was buffed. the add-on used to work only when injured but they decided to buff it because demo player were not using his portals at all. in fact many player still do not use his portals because the reward is so bad for using them that this is only add-on that makes it rewarding to use portals. by weakening it, you remove reward for using his kit.

I feel like you don't remember the original version if your saying this. The original version ONLY had the aura reading during travel and only for injured survivors. There was no 3 seconds of aura reading after.

First smart opinion I've heard about this nerf lol. Lot of people on this thread clearly havent come up against an iri demo.

I main demo and I agree with this nerf, the 3 second mapwide aura read was insane, particularly combined with the undetectable boost after portalling. It was always my fallback build if I'd had a few frustrating killer games, run iri demo and I was guarenteed a win. In the last 6 months i had a single 2k game with that build, the rest were all 3/4ks.

Aura reading is the strongest type of tracking, and this addon has it map wide... One could make a very good argument that it's the best tracking tool in the game. I feel like the reason more ppl don't use it is due to not knowing it was changed and getting use to using the same brown and yellow addons every game.

  • @radiantHero23 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3509054#Comment_3509054

Why nerf the addon at all?

It's a strong aura reading addon for a killer with subpar chase potential. It's good when they go for more chases. It's not even that good when compared to Plagues black incense or dredges lavelier microphone. Even on Demo there are better addons. Case and point : black heart and barbs glasses.

I dont get why this addon has to be nerfed at all.

The Plague addon requires survivors to be sick. The Demo addon instead was just a map wide aura read on demand. This nerf is leaving the addon in a good state, but now it has SOME requirement. You still get a map wide aura reading during the travel phase.

It's a good start, but the 4th survivor should probably be slugged...

Playing with your Food is in the game, and people can use it to hide a cheat too

Or maybe, people who cheat will cheat regardless of perks they are using

Not that I'm saying there's no killer hackers, but typically if someone is using PWYF... it's obvious due to how they play. They're going to be dropping and restarting chases with the obsession, OR having an obsession changing perk. If someone is fast WITHOUT doing that, it's suspicious.

Playing with MFT on the other hand doesn't have any "tells". It would be easier for hackers to subtly cheat because people will assume they're using MFT to be faster and arnt likely to remember to check THEIR perks specifically after the game to notice they weren't using it at all.

because it's a hag perk, and her "design" is that all her perks are hexes, so ruin should remain hex perk

Hag might have introduced hex perks, but her design has nothing to do with any specific perk, same as every other killer.

  • @Xernoton said:

I think hex perks could use an overhaul in general. Most of them are quite unpopular and some of them you can't even buff without making them extremely disgusting or you buff them and don't really achieve much like they did with Crowd Control. Would you run it more often now? I wouldn't and the effect isn't even bad.

I don't know what exactly I'd do with them but I very much like how they handled Face The Darkness. A perk that turns on and off and has a useful effect. It's not super easy to cleanse, so you won't be left with only 3 perks at the start of the game as often and its effect is decently strong but not super oppressive for that. Maybe they could have Ruin and other hexes to work somehow similar.

Why not come up with a different non-hex effect then? This thread was intended for rework ideas, but ppl apparently are very unoriginal.

Last game I played around with BBQ, ad I hadn't it equipped in a while and after hooking some survivor on DeadcDogs right in front of the saloon, I saw a Claudette healing in the backyards. I was puzzled, as I remembered her using a toolbox, so I moved all the way over there, and lo and behold, I found here there by her moaning, still healing. Uff.

I am a big fan of people who deny everytime that the stats they see might be correct but go "NuRsE HaS ThE LoWeSt kIlLrAtE In tHe gAmE"...

Yes, she has the lowest Killrate in the game. She is also one of the few Killers which is free to pick. And also her learning curve is quite steep. But once you learn her (which is really not THAT difficult), you will win most of your games.

You'd think her killrate would be higher then if after afew games of figuring it out, your just stomping everyone. Heck, you'd think her killrate for the top 5% MMR would be higher. Why do you suppose is the reason why people who have figured her out are getting a lower killrate than people at the same MMR playing Plague and Dredge?

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3503449#Comment_3503449

You cannot nerf Nurse. She can only be reworked. Because if you nerf her, she will either stay overpowered (as we see currently, she got nerfed recently and nothing has changed) OR you nerf her so hard that she really becomes useless and the weakest Killer.

And both ways (nerfing not enough or nerfing way too much) are not really the way to go.

Doesn't she have the worst killrate in the game? Wouldn't that mean your more likely to get a Nurse who accidentally teleports to basement than one who seemingly reads your mind and counters everything you can think of?

  • @Xernoton said:

Yeah. I wish there was some game mode in DBD with multiple killers and more than 4 survivors too. Something chaotic, utterly unbalanced and fun that let's you play DBD as the party game it once was.

How cool would it be, if you ran away from Ghostface only to be greeted by a Myers? Or sneak up on a gen expecting to find Feng, only to be greeted by 7 Fengs and a Bill staring at you? Actually, scratch that. This wouldn't be funny but pretty terrifying.

This just leads to 7 Fengs chasing Ghostface as he tries to loop them and vault windows to get away.

It's a very common phenomena that lower ranks in games (the majority of any player base) people don't use comms very well or at all. I don't know if there's any MMR system in TCM but regardless I wouldn't expect it to buck the trend regardless.

I remember that was true back in my Overwatch days. Callouts in that game make a huge difference and low rank lobbys had alot of either complete silence or completely useless talking.

Exactly, herd mentality play a major role in the toxicity in this game. The masses feeling stronger and individually safer blaming the individual.

Already made a thread about it, but this is one thing I kinda envy about the new TCM game. Neither side is alone, so I don't think anyone is really gonna feel "bullied", and it can instead be a chill party game for BOTH sides.

"Killers hate the hiding survivors, survivors hate getting slugged and bled out while a killer runs around looking for the others, I wish they would fix both at the same time."

If there are only two remaining survivors and one of them is downed, the Entity opens a hole in the ground and that survivor falls onto the nearest hook (all hook/unhook perks apply). Now the hatch race (which is already in the killer's favor) can start sooner. The killer slugging is what's dragging the match out.

Can that hook portal work for the last survivor too, lol. I get ppl who prefer bleeding out in a hook deadzone.

1 … 58 59 60 61 62 … 185
