Yeah, sureeee. My poor killer fellows would stop tunnel if we nerf CoH...

Oh wait, they said same thing for Dead Hard too. They exactly said same words for old DS too. But i never saw anyone stopped tunnelling.

61% killrate and killers are still asking for more nerfs. CoH is unfair!!!!

What about camper Bubba? What about CoB + Overcharge combo? What about Plaything + Pentimento combo? What about Nurse? What about Blight with his busted addons?

Nahhhh, they are just alright. They are killer stuffs, they don't need nerfs. Just nerf survivors more, so we can get our 99% killrate.

    BROOOOOOOO YES 61% KILL RATE.

tbf killers are op. Considering nurse has the lowest kill rate we should nerf the high kill rate killers like pig and buff nurse so the game can become the perfect 50% kill rate everyone wants it to be.

First change i suggest is giving pig 2 traps and giving nurse 1 more blink, just to balance the kill rates a bit.

Eh. I think we are at the point where games without Circle of Healing are better for the Survivors. At least for the majority, because Survivors waste so much time setting up Boon-Totems instead of just doing Generators.

It takes barely no time at all, and because CoH benefits from being as far away from the killer as possible there's little risk of it being snuffed, and if it is snuffed then thats a ton of free gen progress. Even if it did take time, the time saved from having infinite fast self heals makes up for it 100 fold.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

People still complain about Circle of Healing? Oh my...

Yes because it hands out free wins against hit n run killers and deletes a major way killers make pressure. So killers start tunnelling whenever they hear the boon sound.

  • @dspaceman20 said:

No this is a bad idea

Circle of healing is fine as it. I guess you can make it not work with medkits or healing perks but other then that it should be left alone.

Or just rework some things about boons that could also work

Coh is not fine, deleting a killer playstyle and handing free wins against killers like sadako and wraith is not fine at all.

  • @Mtom912 said:

just remember self care got nerfed, and COH untouched :D

"Infinite self heals is very strong, so we're nerfing self care" *ignores the fact that circle of healing is one perk slot and gives the entire team fast self heals infinitely

COH has been nerfed multiple times at this point. It does not need more nerfs. If healing is an issue for you use sloppy.

? did you not read the part where i said i run it on most of my killers.

Also a perk that deletes an entire killers playstyle and pretty much hands you free wins against killers like sadako and wraith is not balanced.

I could write a 5 page SA on why this perk is absolutely horrible if you would want that.

  • @Marigoria said:

No self heal would make it worse for solo q.

It's gonna be weaker, that's why I want it nerfed cos its overpowered. I just want a rework that still makes it appealing for soloq players.

  • @sizzlingmario4 said:

Well that certainly wouldn’t be as unbalanced and broken as what we have now. I don’t think that would actually be very good though.

It would be good for solo Q, every time I've asked a CoH user why they use it, their response is either "It's broken asf" or "I want consistent heals in solo q".

This would help soloq, while not making the perk a free win against hit and run killers. Still worth the perk slot IMO.

Plus, as it's not like other boons where it gets better when the killer is nearby, it needs to be slightly weaker than the others.

  • Technically aren't the prime skins also time limited? I want my artist outfits but idk if they're ever gonna come to the store :(

To be open and honest this community has an issue with keeping their enthusiasm to themselves sometimes. With such nicknames involving 'Daddy Mikey' and 'Vommy Mommy' we know exactly where a lot of people's heads are at. We've all run into people unashamedly using usernames such as 'Ghosties Boyfriend' and 'Rin's wife' that serve to scream to the wider world what they so desperately need.

The entire genre of American horror is honestly embroiled in the concept of desire, with the classical trope of the 'final girl' being one who is able to keep herself, to herself.

I lurk these forums and the reddit, not to mention make some general pre-game and post game chat, and I've noticed a severe lack of love and lust for Wesker. That's not to say he isn't popular, but I've noticed his popularity ranges from 'like a friend' to 'good killer mechanically.' I know he's licensed and had a solid 30 ish years to attract a fanbase. But I notice that even before DBD his role in memes were purely for memes and quotations. It just feels like a strange absence or blind spot in the romance side of this community.

I admit, as much as I love Wesker I don't love him like some fans love Pyramid for example.

Have you guys run into Wesker fanboys and fangirls? They've gotta be out there, or maybe he's just not made of the same stuff as Clown and Huntress are?

I'm shocked, because there is easily a ton of wesker simps.

Still have yet to see those mythical maps that don't favor the survivors.

SAME people say that maps like coal tower and ironworks can favour killers sometimes yet I've never seen an ironworks be killer favoured and only once have i seen coal tower be actively killer favoured.

I don't get why people say shelter is killer favoured when it's one of the largest maps in the game and splitting gens on that map requires zero brain power.

    Maybe hag/nurse midwich.

  • Disco dance

  • I feel like this is one of the first posts about changing the entire game that I don't entirely disagree with. A lot of these changes are pretty good, with the only change I actively dislike being breakdown.

As one of the 4 artist enjoyers I gotta comment on her. :)

Birds can already go up sloped given they're on the flight path (when not colliding and when within 8m). Birds going down drops sounds like it could pull off some funny plays, but it would make her more map dependant as hitting elevated gens from another elevated position would be impossible. Such as hitting main gen from hangman on dead dawg.

Repelling not cancelling and increasing the repel time is bad for both sides IMHO. Firstly it buffs her pressure by like, a lot, and considering there's lots of map size reductions and call of brine (arguably one of her best perks) base kit this would make her far too annoying. Plus it removes part of her skill cap knowing when it's okay to use 2 birds due to repel being reset.

A buff to her repel isn't really needed, I would've personally went down the route of making festering carrion basekit (0.5s reduced cooldown) or reworking carrion and doing a flat 1s cooldown reduction on all times. Carrion is her "why would I use any other add on" add on similar to toy sword so something should be done to stop that.

The reduced burn time isn't a gamechanger but I wouldn't say its needed. The self burn is interesting and I wouldn't mind it tbh as long as you couldn't do it while running.

Also you can already burn crows off of other people, unless I'm dumb and just read it wrong.

Overall really good post. Love the accessibility changes.

Well that's kinda lame. I'm not saying I want to see birds get sliced and diced, but there should be some reaction.

Artist should appear and start chasing you down for trying to harm a crow.

  • I know a lot of other people have pointed out sadako but I really don't see how.

Compare her with the people around her.

Twins has an insane ability to contest gens, very good chase given people stay injured (even okay when healed). Victor doesn't care about W keying. Toy sword exists. Doesn't care too much about predroppers.

Huntress has an ability that shines in deadzones, and at the same time creates them. Great 3 gen defence at range and one of the best camping abilities in the game. This pretty much describes bubba as well just without the good defence.

What does sadako have? Well if she wants to force predrops then she has to use old newspaper. Which at the end of the day creates deadzones with a power that doesn't benefit from them as she'll get easily W keyed. Map traversal on a horrific cooldown of 100s so iri tape against good players is a borderline must have. Condemned does not provide enough pressure to consider it a game changing mechanic.

End of the day it doesn't matter how much pressure a killer can have if they can't down people in time then they aren't that good. Dredge and sadako are living proof of that.

  • Killer: Self care

    Survivor: Circle of healing

  • Artist didn't get one either. Thank god because they probably would've nerfed her into the ground like slinger.

I feel like our first genuinely small midchapter since they started making big swings with those is a fair price to pay for continued work on the biggest changes to ever hit the game, personally.

They don't all have to be new and shiny, they can just have some nice quality of life changes when we know it's because bigger things are in development.

nah but like is changing the number 100 to a 30 and a number 5 to a 3 that much of an ask.

We do. They’re called Developer Updates and they do release them early.

Either they’re holding back, which is not their usual course of action/why this thread exists, or they literally have nothing for us to test tomorrow beyond last weeks Update. Which is also odd cause they announced that last weeks Update would not make 6.3.0 but that there would be a 6.3.0.

So yeah. Where’s the Dev Update for 6.3.0?

Devs did 6.1.0 and said "aight we can skip one update".

  • @Mandy said:

Patch notes come out for the PTB on the same day as the PTB itself - they're never released early.

Isn't there usually a dev update or something before it drops talking about general changes (like balance, etc)?

Surely there's other changes than just the mori system.

  • @OrangeBear said:

That's not what quality of life is. Those add-ons are buffs.

Quality of life are things like the new sound effect for distortion. It's a change that makes using the perk more pleasant, but it doesn't increase the potential power of the perk.

Technically, true. By QoL I tend to classify add ons that make playing a killer much more fun. Haddies calendar for example isn't extremely significant but it's fun asf cos you wont be chewing through locks half the match.

  • @OrangeBear said:

100 saw two p100's in the same lobby as killer today. I lobby dodged that lol.

Question. Was it an Ace and a Nea?

  • It's more that basekit UB is a terrible way to bring in the mori change because you could easily change what makes slugging easier (alc ring, starstruck, etc).

Killers honestly need corrupt base ASAP then I wouldn't mind other balance changes being made.

Devs are gonna be real shocked when corrupts pickrate barely decreased from the patch because they didn't do anything to the "3 gens done with 1 hook" scenario which happens consistently without it.

  • @LittleBigSunset said:

I feel like people are underestimating how long 45 seconds is.

In the present your scenario means that the slugged survivor is a 1 tap heal (because they've had long enough to recover) under that pallet. Meaning that the person distracting you can either throw the pallet and heal them on the other side or someone else comes in to get the heal. Either way that person on the floor is getting up when you are against competent survivors who are trying for pallet saves. All this PTB change does is make it so the survivor can get up themselves after a long time, but even then, what's stopping you from smacking them back down again? Or you could chase the other survivors off and injure them to make a pallet save much riskier, and you're given the time to do this with the 45 second timer. And in that case, you've got basically the whole team surrounding a pallet, which is brilliant pressure for the killer.

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it plays out much worse in the actual game than it does on paper. But I think people are overreacting.

Except that's not how it goes. That survivor is guaranteed gonna be injured if they get around the pallet, or if they weren't around when he first got downed then the killer could pick, plus worse case scenario you get pressure from people getting off of gens.

"after a long time" it's 45 seconds. 22.5 with UB. Plus no other survivor is gonna pick up the slug anymore because why would they when everyone has permanent UB? So no more pressure from a slug.

"Just smack them back down 4Head" no. The pallet will get predropped and soul guard exists. Plus exhaustion perks would have recovered by then.

Doesn't matter if they become injured, as they only need to stay near the pallet instead of trying to drop on the right side current update. Try to commit to him? the cycle repeats (another thing pushing people to play nurse blight etc). A good team will always have 1 on a gen when doing this strat.

The reason this change tilts me so much is that instead of nerfing the reason slugging was easy for some killers (exposed nurse, ring blight etc) they decide to make survivors 3rd best perk basekit, screwing over every other killer while barely touching the viability of the previously mentioned #########.

  • @Nazzzak said:

It's necessary because of the Finishing Mori. 4 slugged survivors automatically ends the game, so slugging would become the preferred option to hooking for alot of killers.

Then why TF did they not just reduce the slugging capability on them killers (like alc ring on blight) instead of hard nerfing literally every other killer in the game by giving survivors their 3rd best perk base kit?

  • @SuzuKR said:

    You could turn crossplay on.

We've all see a recent bandwagon of these streamers protesting DBD for a supposed cheater epidemic.

I'm sorry, but this isn't affecting the community as a whole. A recent poll on Reddit showed that a overwhelming majority have not seen an increase in cheaters and most people have only seen 1 or 2 cheaters in thousands of hours of gameplay.

You all have been making some great improvements in the last few years, please keep going and don't get distracted by the few who are abusing their influence for their own personal gain. Please do what benefits the entire community, not the 1%.

I've had a solid 4 subtle cheaters and 2 blatant cheaters in the past 2 weeks, and I don't make content on the game. You're selfish asf for not wanting compensation for streamers who get targeted.

I can't stress this enough: You should not make any conclusions from the stats we shared today. They're purely for the sake of transparency so you can get an idea of how things are going so far. Things take time to settle, and just about all of the numbers we shared (perks and otherwise) change daily. Once popular perks are continuing to fall in usage rate, less popular perks are slowly being used more.

We also have to keep in mind that there is currently a Tome challenge that requires Self-Care, so the usage rate will be higher than normal.

I'm still confused on why self care got a nerf in the first place, the med kit efficiency was a tad bit too strong but the speed was not an issue. The only reason that I can think of is that it was picked too much and it would be too strong when paired with reactive healing.

  • They're probably fine with it because as you move to higher skill levels killers get much less kills than normal. That combined with the fact that there is an unbelievable amount of newer/inexperienced players means it should defos be in the 60-65 range.

Why are you able to stack 4 regression perks on top of each other to get value by doing nothing but your objective? To progress the game. Those skillchecks aren't easy to hit without other perks helping it and that means you don't have other perks to help you in chases. Choose your battles. Tell me why is it balanced to tunnel someone out of a match with 5 gens still up? I could play the same, tell me why, game. I told you why. Now tell me why its fair to stack 4 regression perks on top of each other while also tunneling like your life depends on it? Each progresses the game the same way. One makes it go up, another makes it go down until one side either escapes or dies. STOP trying to NERF survivors' ITEMS AND PERKS. Also, don't bother saying, "tunneling because gens too fast", argument. That's a load of bull and everyone knows it. People were tunneling when this game first was introduced before people knew how to even loop. If they took everything out for a survivor to use, most killers would STILL tunnel people out or face camp them to death. Final note: Don't use a streamer who has won 100 straight games on each killer for advice on how to nerf survivors for even EASIER matches. I guess 100 3k-4k's isn't enough to show that most survivors aren't gods.

"Those skillchecks aren't easy to hit without other perks helping it and that means you don't have other perks to help you in chases"

    • The games gonna be over in 5 minutes if you have a full build dedicated to it and/or other people doing it as well. You won't need help in chase if you never get chased because the game will be over.
    • It requires a toolbox and TWO (2) perks, hyperfocus and stake out, in order to work. Meaning your other 2 can be perks like SB and OTR

You still haven't convinced me that being able to cut over 30 seconds off of a solo generator is balanced.

  • @AVoiceOfReason said:

I've read a lot from people and what I've gathered, almost anything a survivor has to do their objective or even HEAL themselves isn't fair and needs nerfed but all the killer gen regression perks that people LOVE to stack are fine and tunneling plus camping is also fine as long as the killers are winning. I guarantee that barely any of these people play survivor without being able to heal or do gens. It's obnoxious. Toolboxes, medkits and perks are fine. You know most of the time it's 100% Bloodpoints for Survivors? No one wants to deal with that role any more. Finally, I'm getting sick of people using the streamers as valid reasons to nerf things. Dude has done 100 win streaks with almost every killer at "high mmr" but gets rolled once and makes a video on how to nerf a perk xD

Okay that's cool and all but explain to me how soloing a gen in 45 seconds is balanced?

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

Asking more nerfs for survivors :d How about we start survivors on dying statu? Would you feel happy after that?

You are talking about some stuffs are issue but you are not adding video for prove your words. Oh, silly me. You and your boyfriend tested it! So we need to trust your words!

There is like a solid 5 videos each by content creators showing themselves getting a gen done in under 60 seconds solo with hyperfocus and stake out.

I cannot take anyone seriously who thinks a perk combo that takes at a minimum 30 seconds off of a gen is balanced.

  • @TMCalypso said:

Do you look at what perks they brought after the match is done? They could just be chosing to not waste time with COH vs Nurse and opt to do gens as quickly as possible.
