By any chance do you want an FOV slider?

I'd say two things about this:
- Firstly you don't need map of the realm, many players play without it. Map makes landing you guards easier and and allow you to cover multiple options but smart decision making and tracking while placing can also achieve this. To avoid sounding rude you don't need map of the realm, you need to get better which is hard to see if you're use to using the addon as it's one that changes the way you learn the killer if you learn him with it as it does hold your hand a bit.
- Secondly, if you do think the addon is needed I'd say you'd change consideration on a few factors. You'd consider the killer as having one addon slot not two, if the addon is super transformative, like tombstone, you may want to disregard it as you're basically talking about a different killer and if the addon is brown/yellow it's reasonable that someone could bring them every match but higher they will have to play matches without that addon which should counted against them. I also personally value diversity in builds as it forces survivors to play around more options which makes them play safe or take risks playing into the addons you have and allows you to run more unexpected options to catch people off guard or fit your playstyle better. If you think map of the realm is need I'd dock a few points, you can bring it every match and knight can have a lot of build diversity with just one other addon slot and perks, although I think it holds your hand it doesn't massively change how you play the killer even if it does value some playstyles over others so I wouldn't call it transformative.
I disagree that he doesn't need it. He literally cannot land a guard without it assuming you
Assuming you land the guard on the exact spot of the survivor:
Spawn time: 1.5s, so the survivor has ran 6m
Vision expansion: 1s, so the survivor has ran 10m by the time the vision has expanded fully.
This isn't even taking into account the fact that guards move on the path, making the expansion slower depending on the angle survivors are running at.
He mathematically cannot use his power unless you only zone (which is very situational for knight) or verse people with the reaction speeds of a 60 year old snail.
-
To put it harshly, recently it dont feel like feedback is listened to.
Only so many ways you can say "Sadako could do with some buffs" and "twins need QOL changes" before you get sick of it. I understand not doing debated changes but sadako has been out almost a year now and 99.9% of the community agrees she's too weak.
Same can be said with twins QOL, same with Billy QOL, same with wraiths random nerfs, etc etc.
-
@The_Krapper said:
I disagree, I don't think he's the best killer by any means but I feel like knight has a very situational power for example if the survivor is around mid map and it's a open map then he's at a disadvantage with his power but at the same time on any map if you have them in a corner area of the map or anywhere near edge map its pretty much a free down if the knight player doesn't mess up and they're injured already, I feel like he's about a high c tier killer or depending on the map b tier but he's not the worst
With map yea, but without map its mathematically impossible to get a guard to chase a survivor if they run away and don't be dumb, and if they either stick to the centre of the map or utilise chained loops he basically has zero chase power like skull merchant. You would have to be on an insanely situational map like the corner of lerys in order to get an 8m range guard to chase someone (jailor my beloved).
So he has mediocre gen defence (esp without Call to arms) and a chase ability that only helps you in 1/50 situations or camping. At least onryo has a short height and flickers this man has zero way to secure a down in a 3 gen without map.

@Emoba said:
I don't think I understand your question. Are you asking if a killer's strength should be gauged while taking addons in account? Then the answer is obviously yes. What kind of question is that?
Sort of.
But where does someone draw the line at which add ons should be considered?
If we were considering all add ons, spirit would be better than nurse as she has MDR and amulet. Same with blight and C33.
Billy would be A tier as we'd be able to consider both Doom and lopro which combined pretty much quadruple his base kit strength.

Artist absolutely does not need Festering Carrion basekit, considering it is her strongest addon. I'm a p60+ Artist with more games on her than I care to count, being able to run Matias Shoes+Severed Hands/Thick Tar/any of her other addons with Festering Carrion basekit would be busted as hell. She's extremely powerful as is.
Dredge doesn't need basekit to counter one of his few counters, nor does he need open locker priority, as that's one of his counterplays.
Sadako could use a little love but is in a very good place currently. I made a thread about this a while back, but she's not in as dire changes as Nurse, Twins, or even Freddy.
Festering carrion being base would help add on variety, as people would feel less forced to run it. It's the same logic as making toy sword base kit for twins - literally every twins runs it so making it base is only beneficial to their add on variety. I would not mind a matias shoes nerf/rework, however every other add on is either fine or weak, so basekit carrion would not be an issue.
The only time dredge without calendar is even remotely feasable is if you run a 3 gen and get specific locks out of the way at the start of the match, which massively limits his playstyles and makes aggressive plays near impossible. Plus his mobility doesn't need a counter (locks) in the first place since locker spawns are RNG and exhaustion perks exist.
I disagree completely, not having open locker priority is a completely braindead mechanic.
also Idk what game you're playing if you think sadako is in a good place when her only remotely decent playstyle requires an iri and a snoozefest strategy, any other playstyle and she's bottom of the barrel for viability and gets predropped into oblivion.

Not every killer is released underpowered or overpowered. Since everyone is a critic, what changes would you make for those killers? Artist is one of my mains, along with Sadako and Dredge.
Artist should get festering carrion base kit, alongside add on changes (mainly buffs).
Dredge needs some form of haddies calendar base kit, faster ms when holding remnant, and unlocked locker priority for locker groups.
Sadako needs so many buffs I'm too tired to list them all.

At no point did we say that it is the only survivor sided map, we simply confirmed what others have been saying and outlined the work we've done to address this one. By no means is it the only one. You can make a case for just about any map favouring one side or the other.
As for the Killer changes, The Nurse has easily been the single most discussed Killer lately and warranted changes over any other Killer. The Knight was only recently released and as usual, we make changes to the most recent Killer in the following updates to try and fine tune their balance. They were definitely not chosen at random. Other Killers have changed planned, but there's only so much bandwidth for changes in each update.
"and as usual" Im confused. There were no changes to sadako, dredge, artist, or wesker (if i remember correctly) after their release.
Why were these killers excluded from the usual killer balancing but not knight?

I don't think any Prime content is exclusive, juding by the Plague's outfit that was in it and it's in the game store too
Them artist skins could only be accessed through amazon prime. If a new player started after the codes were gone, there is not a single way to access them legitimately. Which is exclusivity to the time period the skins were available.

He’ll be like trickster. Buffed slightly but not enough for people to bother playing him
In terms of cosmetics he’ll be like slinger. A small selection of outfits that barely fit the characters theme
Im scared he'll end up like haddie. No green rarity cosmetics - only a linked set that changes his model.
Everything else he has is default and tbh doesnt match very well. Massive missed opportunity for different types of knight armour.

No.
Maybe it could just block the gen for 10 seconds and have a 15% regression penalty.
10 seconds isn't enough time to heal fully and 15% regression is significant.
That would be too much IMO. 15% is pain resonance on every gen you kick which (when comboed with other perks) could become problematic on heavy defence killers.
Id say 12%, and make everyone within 16m of an effected gen scream. So it becomes more of a tracking and pressure perk instead of just pure pressure.
-
Usually BHVR is good with selling items, so to see them double down on the "seasonal" limited cosmetics is a little saddening.
Oh well. At least it isn't overwatch charging 26 quid for a skin.
-
I honestly dont like it. I think 3 seconds is fine but locker DS can stay as is, if someones being tunnelled you should either wait it out or eat it. Plus 5 seconds is too oppressive for M1 killers with no mobility.
DS is still godly against every killer aside from spirit and nurse. I think its fine as is.

Of course the Hindered makes a difference, but only a little bit. Are pink add-ons not supposed to be strong? When are we getting rid of Brand New Part and Styptic Agent then?
Yeah, just not "absolutely brain dead with no counterplay" strong.
Tbh, wouldn't mind an insta heal or BNP nerf either.

What's the difference between that and Leatherface instantly breaking pallets?
The fact that bubba has to catch up to you as a 115% killer but blight can start his rush instantly plus you're hindered.
Forums full of spicy takes but I didn't expect "c33 has counterplay" to come up.
-
@danielmaster87 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3243301#Comment_3243301
How do they change his counterplay.
You mean C33 and vial?
Counter to blight is using strong windows in conjunction with predropping. Predropping does nothing because he breaks the pallet instantly, gets his rushes back instantly, and you're hindered.
This means you're forced to use windows all match, which isn't a viable option as there won't be god windows around 24/7, you're hindered so these windows are harder to reach anyways, and the amount of benefits that vial gives you makes even some of the strongest windows unsafe.
So basically, you die. You have a better chance against a range nurse.

Who are you suggesting is better other than Nurse?
Spirit, artist, and maybe pyramid with add ons is better than base kit blight.
He reminds me of old billy, most of old billys viability came from charge + doom. Because he got no charge add ons in the rework he became much worse than he was before (ignoring lopro obv).
Also, another argument can be made for spirit as well. Spirit is quite add on reliant so i would love to see a charge add on base kit and all of her other add ons (speed specifically) nuked to oblivion.
-
@Krazzik said:
Why does the second strongest kliller in the game need anything added to his basekit?
Because he's only the second strongest killer because speed exists.
-
@Laluzi said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3244394#Comment_3244394
What do you mean, there's no downsides to making it basekit? It means people will run 3 addons on Blight instead of 2. Even if you're getting rid of alch ring and c33, that's pretty strong. Blight is too strong with addons =! Blight should get one of his best addons basekit.
And I beg to differ about basekit Blight. He's still way better than basekit most of the roster.
Emphasis on "given add on nerfs".
If his add ons were actually balanced, making 5% speed base wouldnt be a problem. I'm suggesting a fat nerf to add ons (speed included) and base 5% speed build up to make him less crow reliant.
-
FUNNY HOCKEY MAN IS GONE NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
-
@Laluzi said:
Why? Blight's basekit is great. He doesn't need buffs. The whole issue with his addons is that they're very good addons on top of a very good killer and put together, it's too much.
Most killers will struggle against good players on bad maps. That's why you bring addons in the first place.
Nah his basekit is just meh. Nothing special. Struggles on large maps and anti blight maps like garden and eyrie.
Making a 5% base kit speed add on alongside add on nerfs makes him more fun to play, the same to verse cos everyone already runs crow, and stronger. There's literally no downside to it.
-
@danielmaster87 said:
Him and his add-ons are fine. Get good.

Bruh I'm literally trying to get his basekit buffed because it's not that great without at least one speed add on.

I see your point -5% movement speed cumulative per rush. Just a small reduction to basekit. Blighted Rat and Crow remain the same.
I raise you -5% basekit but crow goes 11% and rat stays the same.
-
@Steel_Eyed said:
No basekit changes. Crow reduced to 3%. Rat reduced to 2%. Fair? All in favor say aye.
No.
5% base kit, crow 2%, rat 1%
Or base kit 6%, no speed add ons.

@Pulsar said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3242852#Comment_3242852
Basekit 5% but it can only stack up to 15%.
Let's him traverse large maps and play loops faster, but no more of the un-reactable hugtechs
Assuming a world where adren vial and other add ons get nuked, and hug techs dont exist, I think it should have no cap to help him even more on large, clustered maps.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
The best I will happily concede to is Rat basekit, but even then I'd hate it. Blight has a very good base kit with a few very overtuned addons, so ideally his base kit is left completely alone and his addons all get absolutely decimated, nerfed into the ground and buried so far under that even poor Demo will struggle to find them.
Okay maybe middle ground then?
Crow gives 6, rat gives 4, what about 5?
Base kit 5%, then nerf crow and rat to 3% and 2% respectively.
-
@egg_ said:
Blight's basekit is already good enough, we don't need to make one of his best add-ons basekit at all
No add on blight struggles against good players and on some of his worst maps. A significant amount of blights strength comes from speed.

You guys don't realize that people can hide their cheats even when streaming. That's why we see people getting banned live on twitch.
Against 4 good players who know the game it's not possible to get away with speedhacks or something like that, so some people usually use wallhacks as the only way to know if they do have it is by seeing their gameplay. I don't know any cheats that can be hidden even by sharing your entire monitor screen.
Also, where are people getting banned? I've seen more hackers stream themselves cheating for hours on end than I have seen them get banned live.
-
In fact, people bring up a good point.
If you're planning on playing a killer whos counter is lack of tracking (spirit, nurse, plague, pyramid, etc) then you'd have to provide some sort of gameplay to prove that you're legitimate. Whether it be screensharing on discord or recording gameplay.
-
I wanna bite so hard. I wanna but I just know its a troll and wont actually go through with it.

@Phasmamain said:
I’m just trying to figure out what the major issue with his add ons were to warrant complete removal. Huntress kept her cooldown and charge time through her pass so why shouldn’t billy have his?
I mean, one benefit is that it made people realise billy was only near top 5 because of charge add ons paired with engravings. Without them he was just meh.
He received no compensation, considering you were forced to run doom against good players, so he got the worst of both worlds. No clue why.
Would love to see either doom engravings made base without the charge penalty, or for him to get unstackable charge add ons.

Just gonna say - if you actually think that devs being bad at a killer would justify buffs then how about if those same devs are struggling as survivors?
it’s not the devs job to be good with the game features they develope. It obviously helps if they know what they are doing - but I am pretty sure they are keeping up with the community anyways.
controller needs plenty of QoL in general. Doesn’t matter if a dev can play trickster well on controller - it’s not impossible to play him well enough especially against casual survivors
Trickster does need buffs because he's weak, not because he's bad on controller.
The point of the post was to try to show devs how inaccessible he is on controller. I get a killer being hard, but there comes a point where you're fighting game mechanics which is exactly what trickster is. He needs to be made easier for controller.
In a perfect world, he would get both buffs and controller changes in the same patch.

Eh. Trickster isn’t even the only one though and it’s not that bad either.
pretty sure it was tested and just not given the needed attention as it’s kinda on par with the general controller experience.
EDIT: I don't think you fully understand just how bad and inaccessible he is. He is awful.

Playing killer on controller with this game should be illegal. It's more mouse and keyboard friendly than controller, which of course sucks for controller friendos.
I would say most killers are fine on controller, however some do suffer more than others.
Trickster and Oni have it the absolute worst by a long margin.
Plague is pretty forgiving, but is much harder to use on cont.
Pyramid head is worse cos you can't flick.
Nurse requires much more prediction than on PC cos you can't turn post-blink quickly.
Blight is 1000x harder, especially when hitting shoulder hits.
Twins on last gen is absolutely AWFUL.
Nemesis is saved by strafe tech.
Pinhead is much harder.
Other than that, everyone else is pretty much the same as they are on PC.

Yes let me just use self care instead and make it a 3v1, I’m sure as a killer main you’d appreciate it.
It takes around 23s to self care in CoH, which is barely any time at all considering its a self heal (only 1 survivor is busy).
If the self heal time was something like 32s or current self care at 45s then I'd probably agree.

There are other ways to nerf the perk without your suggestions making it completely useless
Other than completely reworking the perk there really isn't, as CoH doesn't have the same counterplay method as other boons which is snuffing, as it benefits from being as far away from the generators as possible - the opposite of every other boon.
Either it needs a complete rework to only work when the killer is nearby, or to be much weaker than the other boons.

You see a post complaining about a survivor issue and say stuff like "survivor don't need nerfs cos X exists" and just automatically assume the OP of the thread doesn't also think X is an issue.
It's like someone saying "I like pancakes" and then you going "so you hate waffles?"
Do I think stuff like C33, range and starstruck is an issue? Yes. Is Circle of healing also an issue? Yes.
Is sadako/wraith/twins being almost guaranteed losses against CoH an issue worth complaining about? Absolutely.
Quite frankly, if I bumped into C33 or ring or detonation delay doc as much as CoH my entire forum account would be complaining about killer.

I would benefit more if that muppet who keeps setting up their Boon would actually do a Gen. Especially against those "I play 4 Slowdown-Perks so that the game takes ages so that even I can win"-Killers who are very common these days. You need every second on a Gen against those and if I see that the guy who set up a Boon at the beginning of the match is setting up their boon again while nobody is injured or anything, something is dying inside me.
You literally save so much time healing in CoH that even if someone is constantly setting them up you still deny the killer an absurd amount of pressue, maybe excluding nurse.
Plus, the boon shouldnt be snuffed if its placed in a good location away from gens or in a main building.
