No what they said was it appears like that but the have no way to collect accurate data..and it's obviously false as well

    No, they didn't. :)

  • The title of this thread is very misleading, since you start your post right away with rejecting all of the known and practical ways the deal with DS currently and insist a perk be added to ensure people can't use it against you. Sounds like you like to tunnel and should perhaps just get better at the game. ๐Ÿคท

  • SWF arent the majority. BHVR has stated SWF and random team success rates arent that different.

Also, this sounds like console problems. Come over to the PC dark side and you won't have that issue. ;)

I usually agree with you but this is a bit much, if you've ever played killer you'd know that some survivors dc for the stupidest reasons

I play Killer occasionally and cannot remember the last time I got DC'd on. Same as I cannot remember the last time I got DS/BT. Or the last time I had anyone particularly rude in my post game chat.

I don't disagree...I've played survivor and had people DC before anything even happened because they apparently didnt like the map or the killer or both...oh well. The Killer gets DC pts. Thats all they deserve. They didnt earn 3 hooks. They dont deserve 3 hooks worth of pts. The likelihood of them giving the survivors any alleviation is extremely slim. And for every one time that happens, I can show you 20 where the killer is being a complete and utter douche. So no, under absolutely no circumstances does anything additional need to added to the game to make the most ######### behavior possible MORE rewarding.

Should it really be fair that there's no risk? I'm not asking to be able to tunnel, I'm asking that the rescuer have any risk of getting hit instead of having a meatshield.

The idea that their is no risk is your perception. There is obvious risk.

  • Killers asked for smaller maps. 7 generators and 5 totems have to go somewhere.

There will always be a totem within a certain proximity to a gen...because maps aren't that big and totems, like gens, need to be spread out, otherwise you'd complain about that too. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Also, totem hiding places have gotten EXPONENTIALLY better than they used to be.

Swear to god, you can serve this game to killers on a silver platter and they will complain the platter has a smudge.

I CANT tell a better way to play as a killer, that doesn't mean I DONT know the other ways to play as a killer, OK?

I do need to improve my skills, but not sad, cuz I always get 4k with tunnel and you cant do anything.

Thank you for proving my point why it's sad.

"I always get a 4k with a tunnel and you can't do anything"

That's pathetic. The only way you can 4k (aka 'win' the game in the eyes of most killers) is to use one of the cheapest tactics in the game that presents you absolutely no challenge as a player because your opponent has little to no recourse. And then on top of that, your post is actually suggesting the devs do something to make this EVEN EASIER for you. Why do you even bother to load into DBD, you clearly aren't interested in actually playing.

  • Yeah, when you teleport right back to the hook for a hook trade and a hard tunnel, it really should be easier. So true. ๐Ÿ™„

  • @andyollolloll said:

There still remains a signficant penalty for the killer when a survivor.

DC's usually occur when about to be hooked so should count towards a hooking.

BP isn't rewarded and loses any advantage of a perk like PGTW.

The only penality goes towards a short time out which most players have worked out how often they can DC before they go to bed or stop playing.

    Definitely not.

A lot of times people DC because the killer's behavior is insufferable. Under no circumstance should toxic people be unjustly rewarded for making other people's games miserable, which is all this change would promote.

You don't want people to DC, don't play like an #########.

  • So you did camp the person in the basement...and they were mad about it. Sounds like a legit response.

I thought you were going to say they accused you of "gen camping"...which is the most ridiculous thing I may have heard of a survivor saying to a Killer. But that just sounds like a typical proxy camp. For which they have a right to be annoyed. ๐Ÿคท

Good job though. Its currently a lot easier on some maps to gen yourself as survivor with the map changes. You really gotta clock where all the gens are and plan accordingly. Harder to do as a solo though. You can't really control if your scardy-cat teammate focuses down 'easier' gens that end up ######### the team in the end.

  • Dead hard.

I have watched it fail time and time and time again for so many people. I dont see why they continue to run it. LOL

Well, I cant tell a better way to play well as a killer if you say that. I mean if you cant sacrifice the survivor as quick as possible, the situation will be hard to control. The more survivors remain on game, the gens get done faster.

You can't tell me a better way to play killer than to tunnel someone out of the game? Then you need to improve your skills as Killer. That's sad.

i keep listening and reading about Killer mains saying Survivors have to many second chance perks, that everyone use only meta perks. but i also read and listen to them saying "nerf this and that perk" example Mettle of Man.

When mettle of man came out for the first time it was Broken af but after the first nerf it was pretty good but somehow killer mains still complained about how broken it still was when you needed 3 unhooks to get that perk activated.

now i listen to people saying the upcomming perk is to strong for the new survivor what will give you the BT effect and they again ask for a nerf. now the real question is.. are you really sick of people using only DS,Adren,BT or do you just want them to use these perk? if you really want them to use something different why you want everything to get nerfed? that is not how it works. you cant ask all the time for a nerf and then complain about "every survivor use the same build" well maybe because of that reason?

Anyways i took a look ingame to the perks of survivors and i saw exactly 20 useful perks you could use in rank1 against rank 1 killers.

then i went to killer perks to see how many useful perks killers have and i count 36 + all different killers you can play + synergy of some builds.

for survivors you dont have the choice if you wanna win. means no meme builds. with the +50survivor perks you can maybe do 3-4 synergized perk builds what will help you to win.

now here are the perks if you're intersted on my list.

    Survivor

Now the question here is do you really want people to use perks like Streetwise, Vigil, Autoditact (what is never working because of RNG) or lightweight? or do you really want to ask all the time for a nerf for a good perk so survivors are forced to use the Meta to have a chance or fun in a game?

Killer mains need to stop with thinking every game is against a SWF. you maybe wont belive it but there also people like me who play solo, or duo. so do everyone a favor and stop asking for a nerf and maybe ask for a buff for the bad survivor perks and maybe people start using them? i guess that is enough ranting against the MAIN player.

maybe change your mind and try the opposite side? you'll get more understanding about everything.

    Yup, this.

As you see, the enduring had 2 different recovery rates for the different kinds of stuns(ver 1.2.1), but now the devs just allow the killer using this perk to deal with pallet stun.

THERE ARE TWO PERKS CAN STUN THE KILLER, THE PERK "HEAD ON" CAN STUN THE KILLER FOR 3 SECS, AND THE DS FOR 5 SECS.

I think the current game is fast, if the killer players want to play well in high rank, they may need to concentrate on one survivor, then hook that survivor 3 times to sacrifice him as quick as possible. But that means you need to take the risk of getting stunned by DS, if you get stunned by DS unfortunately, you may need to pay 20 or more secs to slug your obsession again. That is too awful. And it is also annoying when you face with the swf equipped with "head on", but you just cant prevent it all the time.So I really miss the past version of the enduring. Maybe the recovery time of stuns caused by Perks can be reduced by 20 % if the enduring is equipped, that will not be too OP.

"...if the killer players want to play well in high rank, they may need to concentrate on one survivor, then hook that survivor 3 times to sacrifice him as quick as possible."

As a survivor, this is the LEAST fun way to have to play this game against someone. You are basically saying Devs should revert back to making it even easier than it already is for Killers to ruin the game of at least one person every match...which dramatically effects their whole team and the whole vibe of the game. Absolutely not. Not when Killers have already gotten a bevy of environment and quality of life adjustments to aid with the speed of the game. No.

  • LOL I wish we could have old DBD back for a weekend. I would love for newer killers to experience was OG DBD was all about before complaining about its current state. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • @Blueberry Except that changed to DS would change the ACTUAL intent of the perk, which is for survivors to make more bold play choices than typical. So no, that's not how it should work at all. Also, it's not 60 seconds of immunity. It's a 5 second stun. Nothing about using DS is abuse. It works exactly as it was intended.

  • Opening a locker another survivor is in. Like, "peek-a-boo!" ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • Idk why people say he is so weak. Legions don't tend to struggle in my random matches, especially post-patch. The last Killer daily I did was a Legion. Even as a crappy rank with sub-optimal perks and a red/purple survivors in my lobby, everyone was death hook by the third generator. I just started slugging instead of hooking them and let their full team escape through the hatch after the last gen. Was a fantastic match for everyone. But could have easily killed them all. ๐Ÿคท

  • DS in its current state is fine.

  • @Volfawott

    I disagree.

Most people DC because their teammates or opponent are playing in a way that makes the game unenjoyable. What is the point of playing a game that isn't fun? There isn't one. So you DC and find a match that is. That's a valid reason in itself. Sure, some people DC for petty reasons, but thats really their prerogative. Lots of games have a penalty free means for people to forfeit and move on when the match is going no where. This game seems to be one of the few I've played that actually penalizes people for getting away from those who play for the purpose of ensuring others have a bad time. Disconnecting is a completely legitimate reaction in the behavior in this game. As is its cousin, hook suicide.

  • You would not have liked older versions of DBD, where the direction you chose to swing was the only direction your hit went. Killers can now hit 360s way easier because they too can swing in a circle. You need to learn how to step back and calculate your swing better if this is a real issue for you. Or play PC...less controller players...less effective 360s.

  • @johnmwarner except even in that scenario, the likelihood of finishing all 5 gens with 3 people and escaping by the time the 1st survivor died is pretty low, unless they had a spectacular first chase. Especially in a random match. Thats if a face camper doesn't bring NOED, because you dont have time to do 5 totems and 5 gens with 3 people. Which is why this isnt a particularly valid argument. It may be the best possible strategy currently available. It doesn't mean changes don't need to be made because this is a bullshit aspect of the game that should be less desirable.

  • I wouldn't care if I was put with survivors who have DC penalties. I leave games when survivor teammates act like my enemy or killers insist on ruining the match for everyone else. I don't play with people who aren't enjoyable to play with. So A) players triggered by that same behavior probably don't perpetuate it B) I'm fine with DCing in solidarity with a teammate if the Killer is an ######### - they don't deserve a full match if they can't play well with others.

Bring on the DC lobbies. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • @Ferr0r said:

We just had a doctor which puts one on the hook and facecamped the whole game. As a good team we did everything to get the guy from the hook. But because of the facecamp he could easily get another survivor on the hook.

Eventually we escaped with three survivors.

But still this facecamping killer has 21k points. I mean, devs, i know facecamping is a choice but cant you at least punish them with low bloodpoints and derank? Why shouldnt you facecamp if the reward is so high ? Besides facecamp is freakin boring to do...

There must be some kind of way that killers dont get points if they stand still , no ?

    Agreed.

People here like to claim camping doesn't reward the Killer, but it really does. True face camping is the least rewarding against a team that knows not to feed the Killer. But even then the Killer still gets decent BP, even if they depip. And what do they care if they depip - it just puts them with lower ranked survivors who don't know the best way to deal with a face camper...which will allow them to bounce back.

Proxy camping is extremely rewarding because it allows the survivors an opportunity to off-hook but almost guarantees a hook trade - and if there is no BT - it can guarantee 2 hooks for the price of one when you combine it with tunneling. Lather, rinse, repeat for easy BP/PIP.

The frustrating part is that these two play styles require absolutely no skill. They can be done on any Killer at any rank. As long as you can catch at least one person, which with all the changes made to the game combined with killer speed/blood lust/hit priority, it would be really hard not to - you can execute these with moderate to even great success depending on who you go against. There is almost no downside...especially if you're the 'type' to derive your enjoyment of the game out of ruining other people's experience - like so many are.

  • @csandman1977 said:

My thoughts are yes. Not just for the effect it has when you manage to use it, but for the effect it has on most killers through the game.

Similar to NOED, the 'fear' of DS being in play when there is an obsession, changes how killers must approach the game. However, as most survivors opt to not do totems, i would argue the fear of DS is greater than NOED.

Furthermore, when used at certain points in the game, there is zero counter.

The perk itself promotes slugging, an 'unfun' tactic, but absolutely mandatory should the killer not be in a position to eat the DS stun.

The developers have stated DS is not an anti-tunnel perk in responce to players stating they were getting hit by the perk eventhough they were not tunneling.

Basically, i feel like DS is an overall blanket perk that promotes hyper aggressive survivor gameplay, and also punishes killers who perform too well.

Im not saying nerf it. Just saying its pretty strong with way more impact than any other perk. Possibly even old Ruin.

    Thoughts?

DS is MEANT to provide survivors a means to make bolder decisions with their game play for 60 seconds after an off-hook, or until they're picked up by the Killer. It is written into the perk itself. The term "hyper aggressive" is an odd choice, since the survivor isn't an aggressor, still.

The idea that DS strikes fear into the hearts of killers...so much so that they won't pick anyone up...is sad. It's a 5 second stun. And the people who refuse to pick people up and eat a potential stun because they are 'afraid' are the same people who then come here and complain about how OP DS is in end-game because they want to tunnel to secure their last kill...when if they had dealt with it early, it wouldn't be an issue.

The only way DS could be considered a "punishment" to Killers is if it WAS only intended to be an anti-tunnel perk and it worked outside of that scope. As it is, it's just a perk that performs as it was intended. It doesn't 'punish' the Killer any more than Killer perks 'punish' survivors.

Also, as frustrating as it can be in end game, in early to mid-game it is fairly inconsequential. Especially with map changes. If you down someone because they got into one of the many new dead zones and they DS you...reacquiring your target takes mere seconds. I have seen countless people tunneled off a hook, just to DS and get downed a few seconds later. The impact is not nearly as significant as people make it out to be outside of end-game hooks.

DS is definitely a strong perk. Yes. But I wouldn't say it is disproportionately strong in comparison to other meta perks. As much as it can effect a game...a killer can also render your perk slot wasted just the same.

  • Lol why won't the devs give killers more ways to nullify key survivor perks? Probably because they want survivors to keep playing this game and killers don't need it.

  • Yep.

This is the current state of the game.

Run your meta build. Most Killers give zero ######### about anyone's enjoyment of the game but thier own. You do you. ๐Ÿ‘

  • Oh would I like that.

I often ask killers who do nothing but camp/tunnel people to death if they think it would be fun if all the survivors could incapacitate them at the very beginning of a match and kill them so they never get to play...they just finish their objectives and leave. Surprisingly, none of them seem to think that would fun or fair. Crazy.

  • This doesn't particularly look like karma. It looks like you are sweating on a 3 person team with 4 gens left. ๐Ÿ˜‚ But ok.

  • No.

...besides, it already provides a ban penalty.

  • ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

I am pretty tired of people saying sabo changes were a buff.

No survivor asked for those changes.

They're not faster when you consider that people who would sabo would take the time to 99 hooks and then could drop them in a split second.

It was a nerf. Right along with toolboxes. That's the reality.

  • The first idea is basekit tinkerer. No.

  • Yeah, looking forward to a fixed system as well. Teammates can be the worst.

  • So you intentionally ruined their match and taunted them about it in post game chat and it really pissed someone off. Mmmmk.

  • Yeah, I do one of two things if people use hate speech in my pre-game lobby:

    1. Leave - I dont play with people like that
    2. Stay, refuse to save them so they die, and report them in post-game lobby

That behavior should be zero tolerance, for sure.

It's fair that "50%" of the pallets aren't extra useful because survivors have more than just pallets as an advantage against the killer. As I said, the whole game is designed around giving survivors all the advantages except in a chase, where the killer is supposed to be... well, a bloodthirsty murderer. But the establishment of looping as a core mechanic removed most of the killer chase advantages whereas most of the other survivor advantages stayed intact. That led to the current state of the game, where it's far more stressful to be a killer than one of the survivors.

That's why I like maps where a bunch of the pallets aren't safe. It forces me to open the survivor game up and use killer location, map geography, line of sight, audio cues, and the like in ways I don't normally have to pay attention to on other maps.

I am 100% a killer main, and the reason is because most maps are boring to play as survivor because you are so incredibly safe. It doesn't mean that I'm guaranteed an escape or that I'm some sort of survivor god - I'm not. I don't have any interest in learning the deeper intricacies of the "mind game" (lol) of looping, which is only a mind game in the sense that your mind is what makes guesses. But even a potato survivor like me can loop well enough to make things stupid hard on the killer and win or lose I know it wasn't fair. And that's boring.

I'd love to be a survivor player or even a survivor main. But looping is godawful boring and dumb. So I'll keep playing killer until you get your way and survivors are virtually invincible as a team (if not individually) and then I'll quit - and your survivor queue times will keep getting longer.

No, it's not fair that half of the palette resources survivors have aren't ACTUALLY useful at all. If anything the killer had only worked 50% of the time or less, they would riot in these forums. Survivors have palettes and windows. That's it. Now maps have more and larger dead space zones - often flanking an area where the only resource is a palette, which is unsafe. When that one resource fails to function as it's supposed to, that's a problem. You weren't out played by a killer, because of latency and hit priority, in an area where your only resource was an unsafe palette that dictates you're going to take a hit even when you make the correct play.

Killers have plenty of in-chase advantage - especially right now. Infinite loops have been significantly reduced. There are some pretty stupendous dead zones on legacy maps now. Even before that, patches had already address window/palette combinations and reduced their spawn. There's now a lot more unsafe palettes - which we have already covered why these are killer-centric. This is before you take into consideration that killers are faster than survivors baseline and gain bloodlust the longer a chase ensues.

Outside of chases all killers have access to resources that allow them plenty of advantage at other objectives. BBQ Chilli, Nurses, Whispers, Discordance, Surveillance, in addition to killer base kit powers like stalks which will tell you if a survivor you can't see is in an area.

I am so tired of hearing that survivor is boring and easy and that's why people play Killer. This is just a blatant bias because you are a Killer main - and I say that because I have the exact same bias. I find Killer to be the far less stressful role. I don't find it to be fun or challenging. I have absolutely no issue 4king when I play Killer and doing so doesn't make me feel particularly good. So much so that when I play Killer I don't kill anyone just to see if I can do so and still PIP - and I usually do. That's not enjoyable for me, which is why I don't main Killer. And like you, I am not a "god level killer". I just don't find it difficult and I am not nearly as stressed about it because it's not my main.

You may find survivor boring, and that's fine, but there is nothing easy about being a survivor just like I can acknowledge that there's nothing other people find too easy about being Killer. And while you, as a self proclaimed killer main, might enjoy the fact that unsafe palettes are really a broken feature of the game right now - for a survivor main having nonfunctional resources take the place of functional ones when so many elements of your environment were already changed in favor of your opponent is just plain stupid and not particularly fun in any way.

Chases are what make this game so much fun and so exciting. How fun/exciting is it to have a chase end early - not because you were out played by someone - but because someone who is already baseline faster than you gets priority due to latency across resources that are already inherently riskier to use. That's not fun, it's broken.

This game has gotten exponentially more killer-friendly over the last 2 years. If you quit the game because they fix latency and hit priority - I guess that's on you. My queue as survivor is about 60 seconds, so feel free to do what you gotta do, bruh.

  • On the contrary, I think there should be a survivor item that allows you to string something across the doorway and trip the killer. Far more fun for me. ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ

  • Perks like DS/BT/Unbreakable are meta because play styles like camping/tunneling/slugging are "meta". As long as those play styles persist as the go-to, those perks will continue to be top utilized regardless of how fun or cool other perks are.

    Yeah, Ghostface op, right dude?

Come on, at lease save that shite for when it's a spirit complaining. Ghostface does indeed have a borderline broken instadown, because half the time it doesn't work properly and hands out free reveals, refuses to stalk, regresses upon 99, or let's the Ghostface stalk in a staring contest. That last one is the only problem survivors ever seem to complain about, but it is the least common of all of these. No "borderline" about it, ghostie needs a patch so he can work properly.

You mean half the time reveal doesn't work within the completely appropriate range or he stalks people through solid objects? Yes, I know.

  • In my PTB experience, Pyramid Head did just fine in terms of kill rate. More often than not, the killer got to the cage for a tunnel at the same rate the saving survivor got there, which is honestly how most ppl will probably play him because that's what happens when you give Killers a way to avoid DS/BT. Prediction for his ranged ability was not hard in areas where the survivor is funneled through a specific doorway/hallway, which occurs often at some point in most chases, most matches. The map looks dope - whether you appreciate it or not. A ######### ton of people will buy this DLC. If you don't want to - don't. Or wait and purchase with shards. ๐Ÿคท

Don't you think he feels justified bringing a deck like that though when that was the team he was going up against? Though, sometimes you just want to have Killer games with the start of the offering screen to look like this:

Oh absolutely. I don't begrudge him his load out by any means. You should bring your strongest build...why wouldn't you? But that's the point. "How are builds like this allowed?" was the question he posed...the same could be said for his own while he stomps an uncoordinated random team on a spoopy map. Highly skilled, well optimized teams ARE hard to beat. They are also not something you face every match. Just like highly skilled, well optimized killers are extremely hard to beat....but you also don't get them every match.

  • Coming from the dude rocking BBQ, Nurses, NOED, and Corrupt with an iri addon, on a killer with an arguably broken insta-down ability basekit. Your build isn't any more enjoyable.
