Just try and not get yourself into fights on these forums, I was banned because of that, and my mental health was severely damaged from some of the arguments I had here.

Thank YOU for being civil Komodo :D

I know I got banned for calling someone ignorant

Yes. I'm very much still learning.

So why do at least half my matches at rank 13-14 look like this?

If it's easy to beat a 3 man team who clearly had someone smurf their rank down to roflstomp over newbies like me...well, I'd like to see you do it.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/KR37SR2HSX07/smurf-premade.png

Yeah sotry but I gave 1000 hours that is childs play to me. But yeah survivors like this aren't the majority and some just like to play with friends and like my gf just started and I like to play with her so thats how this match goes but im not trying to Smurf. Its not all black and white

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1685363#Comment_1685363

Yup. It's a circle. But it's one being kept in motion by survivors, not killers. Although, to be fair, the devs are to blame - by removing killer matchmaking and protections to stop smurfcomps...yeah. Killers didn't start this.

When I'm trying to climb the ranks and all I get is 3-4 man smurfcomps that are insanely BM, nigh uncatchable and all running crazy stuff, damn straight I'm going to have to adjust my playstyle. And it may not be in a manner that is enjoyable for the other side.

For instance - this game, from last night. Players 1, 3 and 4 are all queued together, clearly on voicecoms. Note the ranks of #3 and #4. If I hadn't chased and camped #1, I would have ended the match with 0 kills. And then I go into match 2 with a hate-boner and anticipating the same thing.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/W8PTIAVMP2S2/smurf-premade-2-wat.png

Umm first those ranks are easy as heck to beat. I assume youre not that good(no offense) so I don't blame You but its not just survivors because killers are capable of choosing not to take their anger out. Same with survivors. Also multiple people have been tunneled instantly no matter the gens just because there wasnt a DS which means that those survivors will put DS on because a killer seen the opportunity for an easy match and played like that. Its not just survivors and thinking like that makes you part of the issue believe it or not

  • @MusicNerd_TC said:

Well this thread went downhill quick...

Yeah he says that if you hit a survivor with bt cuz they ran towards you and even if you take a bt hit then he will target them the rest of the game until they die and that because they took that hit its no longer tunneling. Even though you cant change definitions. Also thanks for being civil

  • @Ace_Ventura said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1685464#Comment_1685464

If you're body blocking, and the killer goes after you, in ANY circumstance, BT or not, you are not being tunneled. When you decided to body block, you lost the right to complain about tunneling. Period.

You don't have the right to complain but its still tunneling. If I told someone I would beat them up for talking crap and then they do it again and I beat them up is it not beating them up anymore? That is your logic applies to the real world and lets just say that argument wouldn't stand to anyone

  • @Ace_Ventura said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1685370#Comment_1685370

You: "I ran toward the killer intentionally after I got unhooked".

    Also you: That's tunneling.

    Textbook entitlement.

No that's not how I said it. I said taking a hit for someone with BT. That is not tunneling unless you actually hook them or chase them only. Its not that hard to just hit the bt person and go. All you're doing is calling me entitled for saying its tunneling to FORCE A PLAYER OUT OF THE GAME AND ONLY THEM because you hit then when they had BT. THATS called tunneling no matter what they did tunneling has a meaning and you cant change it over the reason you did it

  • @MadLordJack said:

Toxicity is actively going out of your way to hurt someone else. Everything else is gameplay flaws. Exploitable gameplay flaws, to be sure, but still gameplay flaws.

Yes and that's why I say the intent is what matters

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I'd rather I be rescued on second stage than immediately farmed off of the hook and going to second stage a good 30 seconds earlier than normal; BT or not.

You're not entitled to being hooked three times. If you can't grow up and accept the fact that not every match is going to go the way you want it to go and are going to ruin everyone's else's time because you want to be petty, then you should seek out a different game, imo.

Honestly, you're trying to make people who, with how messed up matchmaking can be; could be completely inexperienced at the game -- out as "bad people", when you're the one committing one of the worst sins a survivor can do: intentionally throwing the match to spite everyone. All because of entitlement and the game didn't go the way you wanted it to. That's some serious childish behaviour.

if you have kindred and it is not dangerous to be saved im fairly sure you should get saved

  • @DaKnight said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1685233#Comment_1685233

Why don't you tell that to all the people playing spirit/nurse/hag/oni/freddy/pyramid head with mori's at the higher ranks? Absolutely braindead killers that anyone can pick up and do well with.

It's pretty miserable for survivors, but effective for the killer. So I don't blame survivors for adapting. It's just playing to win. Nothing more.

    YOU CALL NURSE BRAIN DEAD?!

  • @MusicNerd_TC said:

There are no strategies that I consider toxic, that's right, tunneling, gen rushing, mori on first hook, stacking slowsdowns, slugging, using BNP, using DS and unbreakable, using OoO, camping etc aren't toxic, because they are real gameplay strategies.

I would consider cheating, talking ######### in the end game chat, and literally waiting out the entire bleedout timer while standing over a survivor toxic, because it wastes time.

If you consider basic gameplay strats that you don't like toxic, then I don't know what to say, just change your mindset.

Thats a valid point. I believe they are toxic when it comes with intent. Some people really believe they have to do it or maybe they just want an easy game. Which is either being weak minded or ignorant and none of that is toxic. When you are like oh look that guy beat me before and now ill make sure to make his game miserable, thats toxic.

  • @Ace_Ventura said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1685134#Comment_1685134

No, that's not tunneling. That's giving them literally what they asked for when they ran to me to take a hit. I'm just obliging them. If they didn't want to be chased off hook, they shouldn't have tried to be chased off hook. Lose the entitlement, bud.

It ain't entitlement. Its a fact the well known definition of tunneling in this game is when you ONLY chase one person hook or not. And thats not fun for either side. Also bodyblocking doesn't warrant a tunnel I know damn well youd body block a survivor with Wraith or chainsaw killers if you could. Its annoying for both sides but what's the point in being scummy? Hell if it irks you that much should you really be playing killer? You will purposely lose a game to spite someone for doing the SMART THING. I went up against a clown who had me in basement and he camped the stairs as I got saved and so I took a bt hit and ds him and escape. He could have EASILY killed my savior but chose me and. Its extra points to take hits. You make it sound like some toxic play where they want to get hooked again and that they want to ruin your experience. The only thing im entitled to is the right to have fun since I spent money on this game I dont think I deserve to not win or to win or to not get tunneled. Its a game not a real life situation

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1684448#Comment_1684448

    It's not just petty.

There is a tactical benefit to eliminating, say, someone with meta perks, a tricked out toolbox or a key ASAP. If I can get them hooked where I can also patrol 3 gens, damn straight I'm never letting them get away.

Yes toolboxes the thing that only the best toolbox can help finish a gen in half the time. Or a key something that they cant use if you can apply enough pressure. I never tunnel over items that's just dumb and unnecessary except against a key. And meta perks is a good reason too? Wow so original lets just gen rush since killers have ruin or pop and then make them unhappy. Do you guys realize that thid is a circle? The meta is ran because of killers and survivors beating the other down. When killers tunnel they say oh just do gens and when Wendi we are assaulted with how we got carried by our perks and how we are toxic gen rushers and all survivors want is a fair game and some time to play and I dont know I find people like you funny. Or at least that mindset the only part I agree on is the key

  • @Ace_Ventura said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1684448#Comment_1684448

I didn't say I was mad. If you have BT and you run toward me with it (we're not talking about blocking an injured survivor), you're asking for a first class ticket to the post-game screen, and you don't get to complain about being tunneled. Period.

And no - I don't go out of my way to tunnel. I run BBQ and blood point offerings. Why would I tunnel? (Going after the person who ran at you with BT isn't tunneling, by the way). I bet you'll say "yes it is".

You just said they will die first. If they are on first hook and you hook them over and over out of your annoyance at bt that is tunneling. Also bt gives them 2 health states basically so yeah it kinda is tunneling. Its just a matter if whether its their own fault

If you had thoroughly read my post you would have both seen that I am not saying that looping is as bad as camping but merely asking if you thought that way. If you can't be bothered to properly read before you post or you can't respect other peoples' opinions then you are not contributing anything to the dbd community.

Hey the only part that was unnecessary was the end. He compared the 2 and put his thoughts on it. The way he spoke answered your post and can help others decide if they choose to read. What he did was well within bounds of the argument. The only worthless contribution was his insult at the end. And just so you wont call me out for not answering no looping is not as bad as camping it's annoying. But not as bad

Well doctor is a unique case, he always was a great killer for totem builds. I can't argue about that. There are even more gross builds like using huntress lullaby with unnerving and distressing..

Well thats impossible skill check my build with ruin and undying that I made up off the top of my head would probably be ultimate gen regression

  • @Irisora said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1684639#Comment_1684639

Yep he didn't choose the best killer to post that image xD. But still totem spawn is and always was a problem. That's why i don't play with hex totems. And it's not like undying did something amazing here like some people think. It works.. sometimes, maybe instead of 2 out of 10 now its 3 out of 10 matches that ruin or whatever hex, don't get destroyed early. But still not worth it. I prefer to play with more active perks and not play a "test my luck build".

Hey put ruin and undying on the game as doctor with overcharge and unnerving presence. Not only will they lose progress to your constant info they wont be able to cleanse your totems nor work on gems while T3 and then you dont have to worry about totem spawns

Ugh thats gonna take a while but yeah I will try that. Could you explain how? Also would you be willing to give your pointers

  • Ok ok. Maybe it was REALLY annoying but it helped me get better at great skill checks and idk I liked the challenge

People complaining "yOuR bUilD tho" when he probably lost Ruin 30 seconds in the match due to this stupid totem. Btw, I didn't know there was rule that everyone who runs strong builds should be shamed. Imagine if every survivor post had someone commenting "Omg, DS and UB gamer, now your complaint is invalidated"

You mean the thing MOST people would be doing?

  • No ruin and pop are dumb. Pop may or may not ever be used. And ruin is trash as a survivor main mostly I prefer old ruin

I think survivors start getting good at looping when they understand how to chain tiles.

They are very good if they can get consistent reads.

Yea I chain loops but I do it after using the pallet so ive been trying to avoid that. Rancid abbotoir is the best for that because by killer shack it always has tiles to chain. And I need to work on chaining on everymap. But would you br willing to do a 1v1 with me to tell me how well I do and give me pointer?

  • @MusicNerd_TC said:

Who in the cinnamon toast ######### cares what build he's using? Are we seriously perk shaming now? This thread isn't about ruin and pop.

I agree with you. I stopped dead hard and spine chill and resilience because everyone shaming it. But overall I hate relying on those perks for greed. I just put on dead hard recently and mever even used it for pallets because I was so used to good looping

  • @Ace_Ventura said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1683023#Comment_1683023

But damn it - we've gotta nerf undying, the only thing that makes Hex perks somewhat viable (and even then, Undying ends up being the first one cleansed 90% of the time).

Yet again we disagree I think undying is cool. Until its devour hope which I sadly encountered

  • This is basically the second chance of survivors. And also if we are being real survivors complain less about perks than killers do. I have ZERO issue with that build. BBQ is a semi decent perk with too many easy counters. Sloppy is whatever you don't NEED to be healed all the time. And ruin means no pop so dont cleanse ruin its not even that good anymore unless you are a good killer or defend one gen but at that point you lose the game if you focus on one

  • @Tactless_Ninja said:

Best policy is monkey see, monkey do. Observe what the other side does and emulate them.

Recently I watched some survivor-side streamers, my feeling is that, they always treat killers as fools. No matter how skilled or bad the killers are, these survivors always laugh at killers, just like playing killers is a fault. That reminds me of manythings.

All the killers have different things to learn. When players start a new killer, 3-escape or 4-escape is so common. In this case, most of the survivors would laugh at killers, in contrast to the fact that playing killers have so many technics to learn, while the survivors only need to hide well, and play gen-rush.

I think I play kind enough, when one survivor DC, I would play nice, when I got 3-kill against unskilled survivors, I always let the last one escape, if the opponent plays well, I will not hesitate my praise. But, at last, I got nothing. When I start to play nurse and spirit, when I lose badly, what I got is "You are really a joke". When I try interesting perks, I got "You should't take those perks, so you are bad". Even recently, in red rank, I always meet teams that want to bully me and treat me as fool.

Is playing survivor inherently superior to playing killer?

Trust me man its because playing strong killers and being bad means the douches will make fun of you. Trust me man its not always like that, its just some people have no respectable personalities

  • Loops are fun its not that they WANT to bully you. That is an assumption that will skew your mindset. Also you did good leaving him or her. But if you want I can teach you a few tricks if you want. I know a good amount of looping amd how to counteract it. In not THE BEST but I am good enough that I can help. If you want.

  • @MigrantTheGreat said:

For starter's I'm a killer main! I spent all of September playing survivor! I understand rank means nothing but I went from survivor rank 12 to 5!

How do you remotely find survivor fun and/or skillful?

I sit on a gen for 20+ seconds and I'm already bored and start thinking about what I'm going to eat soon! Looping is brain dead boring to me unless the killer is Nurse, Spirit, Clown, Pyramid Head due to the fact that these killer's either can't be looped or me resort to different looping tactics!

Like how do you guys have fun or find survivor skillful that doesn't involve being toxic or depending on a certain killer?

Because as a solo player I can't rely on my teammate. My looping is what I do to keep me alive, stealth is too easy. Flashlight saves are fun too. But in the end looping makes me salty when I get window hits. And plus I could turn this question around I dont understand how people enjoy killer for so long. But in the end its just opinions and don't say a certain role is no skill

Thank you for being considerate even in a competitive game. It means the world to me when I'm doing poorly as killer and have a player stare at me as they get taken by the EGC, or when killers who, even when they lose, still say 'gg' or something nice like that. We don't always have to play fair, and I think everyone falls into that mentality of 'well they can't win if we abuse this,' but whatever, it's a game lol. It's just super cool to meet players that respect each other even when things aren't going well for them. Sorry if this post is dumb, I just wanted to get this off my chest haha :)!

Yeah I try and let myself die if i can guarantee a pip but I take the game seriously so sometimes I don't be as merciful as I like, but unless get extremely stressed from a match I let the bad one live it feng min. Feng gang is only gang. But I also hate tunneling or camping and gen rushing

  • @yadielrodriguez said:

Look a person who say gen rush is not a thing it sound like it never happen to you and is like people say DS is not bad to use well it is but I guess you are a DS player who use the same build as everyone does so you think it fine but when the day come that DS get nerf will be the day people don't wanna play dbd for good which is good so the fun can begin again and no more frustration and sweaty games anymore.

Wow personal assumptions. Just stop, DS is not bad to use and you think tunneling is ok. So there for DS is used for killers like you. And lets not forget I played at rank 1 killer when I was enjoying it and now its boring but all my thousand hours gen rush has NEVER been prevalent at the majority. Once you get your first hook, gens go slower due to pressure if you get rushed its because you couldn't end that first chase fast enough or they split up and had good toolboxes, but thats optimal gameplay not everyone does. Gen rushing is real but not in the way you think. You wanna see REAL gen rush look at ine of tru3 videos he won chases in 10-30 seconds and in 3 minutes and a half EVERY generator was finished. My shortest game that involved no dc was like 5-10 minutes and the gens weren't finished

See - condescending responses like that only work if the two situations are directly comparable.

@Rex3's posts purpose was to indicate that what people CALL tunneling, and what tunneling actually IS are two different things completely.

    Went right over your head.

You can say all you want, but in the end you have a skewed view. Like the last post it was talking about MAKING killers miss(jukes) and you brought up whiffingnlike like youre being chased and if you didn't you didnt do a very Good job at making your point clear. And if you read his other comments or read his ORIGINAL COMMENT ALL THE WAY you'd see him defend tunneling and his later comments defend tunneling by saying "its the killers objective to kill" "ill do anything to kill except facecamp" and his original comment said quit complaining about tunneling because its either your teams fault for farming or because you're not good enough. THAT isn't the type of talk that means "oh quit calling this tunneling because I hooked someone else" he never even said what you said he meant and his words paint a WAY different picture than what you are saying and the two ARE comparable. What's the way killers react when survivors are upset about tunneling and camping? Do gens. What do killers complain about? Gens. And survivors say to apply pressure. So if you are gonna comment at least know what you are talking about

  • @Rex3 said:

Survivors need to stop complaining about tunneling. It is either your fault for walking in front of the killer or it is your teams fault for rescuing you in front of the killer and giving them an easy target.

Killers need to stop complaining about generators. It is either your fault for not applying pressure, or you tunneled.

    "Ha, that's funny."

Well if you didn't talk about jukes you have no reason to be saying what you did. This post was about actively MAKING the killer miss. Not because they were dumb or misjudged distance or auto aim cucked them

  • @Ace_Ventura said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/198259/if-killers-miss

This is the most entitled post I've read here in a while.

They do have a cool down if they miss. There's perks to negate some of it, but there is a cool down, and a slowdown. Asking for it to be any more would break the game. If you can't get enough distance after they miss a swing to get to a pallet, either there's no pallets left on the map or you're just not that good.

HA! THATS FUNNY. You really think that a normal human has the reaction time to 360 instantly see the missnand stop their spin instantly and right their course and make distance? Thats not true the only time I made it to a pallet after a 360 when I was close other than that I either spun too much and ran the wrong way or I lost time due to finishing of the spin. The side to side juke is the one that gives you actual distance and even then the cool down is enough to where the distance isn't that much Because you were swerving. The post idea seems cool but you are right about the game breaking. I am in no way agreeing with the implementation of this mechanic

  • @JacobD said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/197895/hexy-tournament-pyramid-head-and-spirit

Its a paradox in a sense because the only way to counter each other is to play in the ways that the other hates the most. How do you counter gen rushing, you bring strong killers that are good in chase as well as having high map pressure. How do you counter those killers you bring second chance perks to extend each chase and waste as much of the killers time while your team powers through gens. Then at the end of the day each side is complaining about the others playstyles and loadouts, yet both were just playing the thing to give them the better chance of victory. You can say "oh well I dont always bring a full meta load out I only bring 2 meta perks and the other are just funzies perks" well the killer also only brought one size fits all load out and yellow add ons but theyre playing Freddy or hag or something. Nobody to very few people enjoy losing, everyone wants to win while also having fun but the most effective strategy for each side is very unfun for the other side. That's the dichotomy of this game.

That is so true and i was thinking about it and people also say oh well survivors had limits to items but dont talk about the add on limits for killers

  • @TAG said:

TLDR(however you put it): its dumb to talk about how justified spirit and PH bad mechanics are over a tournament with some of the best players who finish gens in 3 to 5 minutes when the public matches can't replicate that

I mean, that applies to the vast majority of games with tournament scenes, but somehow that doesn't deter those games from seeing mechanics, balance, etc. from the perspective of tournament play.

But tournament play shouldnt carry over and also this is about how people use the tournament style to say that the no interaction parts of these killers are ok. That is all im trying to get at and if I didnt make that obvious enough i have no clue how else to put it.

If the last survivor finds it before the killer? Yes, it absolutely is. Hell, if the last few survivors happen to find a key and the hatch, it's also a free escape.

You know how many times hatch is spawned and how easy it is to look for it? Simple just slug the last survivor or keep an eye out or just don't care. Killers have hatch priority so its not that hard to prevent the free escape.

  • @Eorpwald said:

I'm so bored of all these people calling for balance or nerf this killer buff that killer.

Like any game with classes some classes are more viable than others in certain situations and on different kill levels.

The only way you'll get 'balance' is if every killer is identicle and a copy paste of the next. That is boring.

You either get good as a killer or find a killer you're good at. Don't expect the world to revolve around you and your wishes.

Everyone one knows nurse and spirit are strong killers but that doesn't mean every killer should behave like nurse or spirit.

Theres an English Proverb: 'Variety is the spice of life' and that goes for dbd killers too.

I'm bored of reading comments that assume what I want. I never said I wanted any thing I just said some logic was dumb and explained why that's all I made it for.

Okay so people using tournaments as a justification for nerfing survivor, what do you actually want? Every time I see this topic there is never anything actually constructive.

Oh no I dont know if my point didn't get across to you but its just to say that these specific reasons people brought up aren't very good defenses. And as for survivor nerf I think the biggest one they can do is nerf gens it do your early game start mechanic. Which I one hundred percent advocate for. The tournament showes how strong survivors are and how BS gens are and I think its a good showcase but as to how PH and spirit abilities work I frankly don't think this tournament should even be part of the argument because rushing gens is boring and its tilting for killers. Do you get what im saying? Also I never WANTED anything out of this topic, its mainly to adress some faulty reasoning I seen. Also I love your videos Scott you look at things logically which is a thing I luke about you.

I meant the gens being fine towards anyone not specifically you. The rest of the post is geared towards you as well as some other general thoughts.

No gens are abysmal. My only point was people said oh look pyramid head isn't that bad all because of a tournament where gens got finished in 2 to 4 minutes and same with spirit. This post is supposed to point out how this tournament isn't a good indicator about whether the killers are too strong or not

If you think that it's ok to finish a gen in 25 seconds then there is no conversation to be had.

Sounds more like you are complaining about the ranking system than anything. A Rank 1 shouldn't complain about the things other survivors do and those be the exact same things a Rank 10 can complain about. You shouldn't be able to rank up by doing 1 gen 1 rescue 1 heal. Do those 3 every game and you are basically guaranteed a pip. Also maybe you just aren't as good as you think you are. A lot of tooting your own horn usually means it's a bunch of BS coming out.

There are 21 killers and only 2 are competitive at the top and of the 2 nurse takes a lot of practice. I've only used her 4 times and I have sucked all the suck 3 of those 4 times.

Unless you have all the meta perks unlocked on a killer or at least the next best in their place then you aren't able to beat a swf group with their best perks regardless of which killer you use provided the swf is of equal skill.

I didnt even read that because you said I think gens are fine. Read all my responses and quit making assumptions. Id like to have a nice civil talk with no assumptions

I don't know if you watched that PH match but those survivors were downright terrible. They weren't even looking behind them in a chase. Same with the Wraith team. The second he tried to play a non meta killer against a good team he got decimated (no disrespect to Otz as he's one of the best non-nurse players out there). I do respect that he actually tried to stray from the meta though. I knew he was probably doomed but it was nice to see him try something other than Spirit/Nurse.

Yeah I didnt see the Wraith but I seen PH and some teams were bad but otz also makes good teand look bad as well if we are being honest. Its probably would have won if his team was better but they played rumbly against finger guns, albeit he is a REALLY good billy

To be fair, the tournament only showed the game played under those tournament rules. Does anyone remember a point compilation and the end of the match based on hooks, kills, gens completed, etc?

Also, it was primarily survivor mains vs survivor mains. Some were skilled killers, for sure. But most killer builds were really weak. Even for someone like Otz when he used PH, he used his cage too soon and without purpose. Very very few killers actually ran builds at stopping gen progression. It was hit, tunnel, hit, hook, tunnel, hit, eat DS, tunnel, hit, proxy camp lose gens, rinse and repeat.

that’s not to say every killer is on the same level as nurse and spirit, but I can think of a few killers who weren’t showcased who’d do a lot better with a lot worse

I mean otz played plague with a nasty build and won and tried again but jt didn't pan out. He won with PH one match and lost another I believe and he also won with Wraith I think. I mean it's was arguably the best killer there.
