That's not how the matchmaking works anymore. It's based off the highest ranking survivor in the lobby. I play as a rank 1 killer and I will get SWFs with 1 red rank survivor and 2-3 purple/green/brown ranks and it's typically a massacre. You are probably only getting them because there is a lack of experienced killer players who know how to pressure red ranked survivors, and the matchmaking will just give whoever to a survivor lobby if it's taking too long I assume.
Pyramid head's basekit and perks are strong enough to get you to at least purple ranks. Even purple/red rank survivors are typically very inexperienced. It's somewhat rare to play against a 4 man red rank death squad, which is really the only time you even need a full meta build.
I hope you realize that stopped right? I always get red or purple and as SOON as I play with my brown rank girlfriend I get yellow rank if not green rank killers. Yeah it tries to balance the ranks, but I am better than all the low rank killers I come across so the fact I can get those ranks is absolute b.s.

I’ve played doc since I started the game he was my first killer and he will always be my No.1. Whenever I play him tho I get mixed responses from survivors. Some call me trash cause I use his shock tactically for the down others tell me good job for playing a “”lower tier””” character at higher ranks. So I’m wondering what are your opinions on the doctor.
He is pretty easy to play, but if you use shocks all the time you will fail. He requires strategy and when you have it, he is oppressive and has alot of get hit or get hit. I mainly hate the tier 3 part and if I get a bad doc I'm fine. Good docs are annoying so its me just trying to stay alive. So in my mind doc is annoyong, but I don't hate him like I say when I go against him. My best play with doc was to shock a girl after she dropped shack and I vaulted in and she couldn't vault out in time, if I had stbfl I would have two hit her

We all know how killer games go. Find your first survivor, he runs in circles for 3 minutes, all the gens get done and they escape with Adrenaline/BT/DS/DH. This has become so bad that there are only 2 killers (Sally and Rin) that can consistently perform well in Red Ranks if they want to double pip and retain their Rank 1. Even worse - Rin was broken last update so unless you were Nurse your pip was a heavily weighted coin toss. Some killers such as Caleb and Triangle Daddy can sometimes beat a strong Red Rank SWF, but can't compete if they use the Genrush Strategy.
This is why I think the game should try and cut down on this stupid running in circles strategy to win every game without thinking. Instead, we should focus on the Stealth aspect of the game. I think most survivors (who aren't pathetic bullies) can agree that the suspense of a killer almost finding you in a hiding spot is far more thrilling than running around a pallet 10 times rinse repeat. The fact that there are 10+ pallets which can each last from 30 seconds to a few minutes (Bloodlust takes way too long to kick in) pushes the "chase killer only" meta that has plagued so many players into only playing Rin Sally and sometimes Caleb.
We want to play Amanda and sneak up on survivors.
We want to play Anna and line up a sweet hatchet on a Zarina who didn't quite hide well enough.
We want to play Lisa and scare survivors with our Phantasms.
But we can't - because the meta right now is looping, and any killer that doesn't excel there isn't viable.
You just called Me and a majority of other survivors pathetic. Looping requires the most skill and gives the killers a better chance than stealth. I have gone against stealthy players and it is worse than not being able to land a hit. I like the idea of changing up the gameplay meta, but I disagree that im a bully just because I am better than the killer who chooses to lost the game. And frankly with how you worded it you are directly insulting a big majority of the players and I believe that goes against the rules so you might wanna edit that

Yeah absolutely, I took last week off from DBD jus to rest my mind a bit. It was refreshing.
Over the past several months, I’ve been inspired by uplifting messages I’ve read here in the forums to keep up the good fight against the negativity and maintain a positive outlook.
That’s why I view this community as more of a family. When players do vent their concerns and frustrations, the positivity they are met with from the members who truly care outshine all the negative vibes (wether intentional or unintentional) that find their way into the discussion.
I believe that those who are here venting can see and understand this, then are enabled to take away more good from the posts and from those who are empathetic, as opposed to any negativity that is posted could ever take away from them.
This cannot be a place of negativity when people are coming here seeking help.
We all find ways to keep everyone feeling good, having fun gaming DBD and interacting healthily together. ‘Cause deep down inside, no one wants to be miserable.
Well spoken, very well spoken indeed.

I don't, but when I do it's a rare occasion. I wouldn't mind it If I didn't lose an item for having a long chase

I kno you feel the same way, tho
It’s kinda upsetting seeing so many players opting to leave. We’re all experiencing the same challenges and frustrations, so it’s easy to empathize with each other.
Yeah if you keep up to date with my posts, its obvious I care. However, I totally understand everyone and I feel for them, I have considered quitting so many times. Hell, even azame says he has never got back to back bad matches like me. I have a third his time! I digress, so many people here are just sarcastic or belligerent and it gets nowhere. So people can't come to this forum to have a venting without things being made worse, ruining the idea of a "community."

The killer having Franklin's isn't a reason to quit then leave your teammates in the dust. It's not that hard to get a new item.
Its not if they have Franklin's. Idc about that, but when they suck and I wreck them meaning I lose my item thats dumb. And I havent had it happen to me except for a ######### item, this is just my thoughts in general from the standpoint of I have been stocking up

Solo Ranks are basically the lottery. Once in a while you win a little bit of money but usually all you've done is pissed money down the drain for nothing.
Sometimes you get some really good teammates as a solo (or more likely, A good teammate with two other potatoes). Sometimes you get three potatoes. Once in a Blue Moon, you get a team of people who actually know what the hell they're doing :D
I don't need three John Rambo's game! I just want three quasi-competent teammates. Is that too much to ask for?!?!? D:

since the beta i had a lot of experiences in this game but that was the first time i had a experience like that.
Well.. we played against a legion and all 3 random survivor had Self care.. so everytime they got hit they started mending and after the mending they started self caring, well every single survivor self cared probably 10 times in that one match while i stood injured and pressured the gen or looped. the legion gave up all the time on me and started to stab them again and repeat the progress. Thanksfully the 3 survivors also 3 gened us and like in every game i was trying to save the game and pressured the gens and everytime the legion pressured me my teammates waste the time self caring while i got chased. the legion wasnt dumb.. and knew im the only who is actually pressuring so he repeated this progress over and over again and stabbed them.
1 gen left 4 survivors alive and just 1 survivor pressuring the objective.
well after 15 minutes i gave up and just waited under a hook so i can finally end this suffering, i died and spectated the rest of the match, i was just curious what will happen.
everyone died.
but guess what also happend... the survivors blamed me for giving up.
after this match.. i wont play soloQ again, its over. but we need to appreciate that the devs done that, made the ranking easy, the rank reset easier to reach red ranks etc
oh yeah.. ofc all the survivors were red ranks, im not suprised anymore.
Thanks devs to make this game so borring, so unfair, so frustrating.
im just done with SoloQ. from now one i will start to play SWF again with the best people possible to have fun again. SWF OP btw, yeah blame the devs for making soloQ such a garbage experience. see ya
understandable I am.not the best but at red rank I expect all survivors to know how to loop and do gens. Its at the point I have to avoid the killer just to get objective points because the killer only juggles 2 people and I dont hide so im an easy find but I can't rank up if I always get chased and my teammates are trash. Solo was better before mmr

As a Killer Main, I've been having some fun running this perk on Freddy and other killers NOT named Bubba. It seems like no one expects it and I'm getting some interesting and, imo, fun game play out of it. When I'm on survivor, however, I'm not seeing it too often (again, on anyone not named Bubba) so I can't really relate to what I'm seeing as a killer.
Recently, I have played a number of matches where Franklin's played a huge role in me getting a 3 or 4k. The most poignant example was this poor Yui who just HAD to have that lunchbox. She abandoned trying to get away from me in order to go back and make a play for it after the first hit, so getting that second hit and a hook was super easy. I found someone else and was just plopping them on the hook when she got rescued. I went down there (we were on The Game) to see about finding her savior when, lo and behold, there was Yui trying to get to her lunch box. She points at me, tea bags, and points again before picking up her lunch box, which she promptly loses when I hit her again. Long story short, she gets hooked again, I chase someone who was down there, hook them, and get a notification of the Yui being saved. I figure, there's no way she goes back for the med kit but decided, hey, why not check any way? Sure enough, there she is, making a run for it again. Easy sacrifice.
In other matches, I've literally seen things like a Dwight immediately doubling back in the middle of a chase to try for the flashlight he just dropped. Or the Meg who stunned me with a pallet, took a hit and dropped her Key, then proceeded to climb back over the pallet in order to try to snatch the key. Slap, down, hook. Less dramatic are the cases where people hesitate and look for a second before continuing to run away and more toxic are the 14 players so far who either suicide on hooks or DC because of Franklin's and message me about it. Here's a quote: "Franklin? Really? You are trash, your family is trash, plz uninstall."
What do you guys think? Where does the community stand on this perk?
I've been enjoying creating a little bit of a wrinkle in certain games that changes up how some of the chases go once people realize I am running it. I also like seeing those maps, keys, and flashlights hit the turf. Are any other killers out there running it? As a survivor, how do you feel about the perk?
Its annoying. Especially when I have to get myself KILLED JUST TO GRAB A STUPID ITEM. I don't spend millions of bp to loop a trash killer who is scared of toolboxes and flashlights so long my item disappears. But now I run dead hard in my build for bp so if I ever have a white ward ill pick it up and dead hard to a locker and then kill myself on hook. Screw new Franklin's its just a screw you perk like head on.

Yes, I have. I can turn my camera at the same standard rate as a PC.
The issue is that a mouse can flick and analog sticks cannot.
The sensitivity is the same, but the ability of the input device is not.
And even so, if what you say is true then the capabilities of a huntress on console are still limited

Oh look they created an infinite with a breakable wall. WHO COULD HAVE GUESSED.
Unless this is removed from the map by the time it goes live I will not play this map.
I don't care if the penaltiy goes to 4 hours 12 hours 24 hours or a full week. I refuse to play on a map where the designers are this (insert word I shouldn't say here) to realize that creating infinites with the justification that there is a breakable wall is **Bad Map Design** .
Anyway, hope the new killer is good otherwise this is looking to be even more of a disapointment than the Halloween "event" cough cash grab cough .
Its a TWO SECOND ANIMATION. Really?! Survivors are entitled for wanting to bot be tunneled or camped but oh lordy lordy I have to break a wall to break a strong loop and every other loops that arent in main building are the same. I swear I dont understand people complaining about walls they are fine, but should be placed in more strategic ways

"also the fps does not decide how much accuracy "
You brought up the discussion of FPS not affecting accuracy, not me.
The sensitivity on Console is the same as PC as of a few patches ago. The only thing we don't have is the ability to flick. Not super useful on Huntress, just makes for cool clips, but it's vital on Killer's like Oni.
No we dont have the same sensitivity. Have you seen how killers spin vs console
-
@Pulsar said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1735084#Comment_1735084
So, you'll have the same accuracy at 5 FPS as 120?
Thats not an accurate comparison. And if I have a smooth framerate it doedoeSnt matter because ANALOGS DONT HAVE THE SAME PRECISION!!! Do you understand yet? I am ONLY talking about huntress right now. Who needs good frames to get kills I do fine as a console player, and frames never screwed me over as huntress. Although my limited sensitivity and control of aim has.
-
@Pulsar said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1734933#Comment_1734933
DBD also has a form of aim assist.
If the FPS was equal, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between PC and Console Huntress players.
That's wrong though, aim assist is in m1 not aiming with ranged weapons. And also the fps does not decide how much accuracy a analog

As a Deathslinger main on PS4, I completely disagree. I’ve noticed that PC survivors can spin around faster, but once I know how they’re playing, it’s easy to bait out. I agree completely. The framerate is the issue on consoles 100% because I did a rank 20-1 challenge (and made it to rank 4 before getting bored lol) and I think got to rank 5 using a ps4 controller, and even used my switch joy-cons for a bit too. Controller isn't really that bad ever since they doubled the sensitivity on it.
But as huntress it is. You guys have a point but the aim in dbd is not as fine tuned for everyone as cod
-
@Pulsar said:
Disagree.
The problem is not the controller's, but rather the FPS.
People have ZERO problem being amazing at CoD or Battlefield on Console. The issue is that they are simply given less time to react to new information.
When my game literally freezes when someone uses Dead Hard, even if I predict the Dead Hard, I cannot capitalize on what was a good read because the game is poorly optimized on Console.
I am sympathetic to the Devs plight, many things to do and not enough time to do them, but it is really discouraging and disheartening to see that Console's haven't really gotten that much love, even though it was promised years ago.
Cod and battlefield have had years of adding slight aim assist and fine tuning to aiming so its not clunky. And is NOT near that. Huntress on console is hard, not because frames but because I cant have a whole wrist flick of movement that I can control but I have to flick my analog which lacks precision. This has been proven time and time again which is why analog extenders exist

You acknowledge that this is why you die, and that the problem lies in you and not the game, yet you refuse to change. Deplorable.
Except hiding is boring so I refuse to play like that. People who are not good at the game hide. Its always the ones that try and loop that gain the skills, but in doing so they are the first to be targeted. So yes you are right, but ita not deplorable because I refuse to play in a way that angers both sides.

@Almo said:
None of them. The Killers are delayable, but not stoppable.
Especially because in this realm they have the power to lift 200 pound men on their shoulder in one hand and break heavy pallets with 2 kicks. Not to mention with 2 slashes they can knock someone down and a regular knife slash lacks that power.

Green ranks is the best, they do more gens than red ranks. And because the difference in skill is noticeable I can relax and not do gens and work on my chases or flash saves. I find it unfair to try and win at lower ranks.

@Zagrid said:
Already the map is too big, runs poorly, almost every tile connects together to make the whole map one huge loop, and it is extremely hard to see auras and scratches.
Will this visual update fix any of this?
I can say with virtually 100% confidence that it won't. And in fact, I think the map will be even worse
No changes to tile spawning, no changes to the map size, even worse performance probably causing the map to be disabled again (which would be the best part of the rework), even harder to see auras and scratches.
On top of all of that they will add breakable walls and will 100% create infinites that the killer needs to waste time to get rid of just like MacMillan. And even with the backlash that map got they didn't change those breakable walls.
So after this patch with these changes, and they increase the spawn rate of those maps 1 of 2 thing will happen. Lots of killers will take a break from DbD, or they will swap to survivor and make the queues even worse.
I can only see this update being a Lose lose lose.
Lose for survivor from queues
Lose for killer with garbage maps
Lose for BHVR because more backlash and less people to buy their overpriced skins. (Even though they look amazing)
If they do basically the opposite of what I think is gonna happen then yay! Now they just have to go back to the other maps they reworked and updated and fix it there.
Unpopular opinion: breakable walls aren't that time consuming

AND the fact that the ability is so generous and cam be launched at any angle guarantees hits. Plus I ran THROUGH SHACK and he waited for dead hard and as soon as I had another window I was dead and if I baited its a t wall so I would die regardless if I tried dropping shack after he would area attack and if I ran back when he released he would put it back in and most likely get me and even if that would have been the best play its not repeatable and forces you to waste pallets. I mean im fine with strong killers but after analyzing that... Yeah I was dead the moment I got hit the first time

Meanwhile I can analyze a whole game and explain why it's not a big deal until a whole coordinated team uses it or has a few people use it. And when you look at things with logic you can find the facts, but people flip out because they are ran by the fear of survivors having any way to negate a killers power

I like posting idea's and when it comes to arguments i find that the two most common reasons players disagree is either the lack of being able to imagine how that idea works in practice so they draw weird or unlikely conclusions or they are biased. edit: of course some ideas are also just bad or biased themselves.
wraith idea: make it so wraith is completely invisible outside 16-24 meters of a survivors
argument: Makes wraith too easy he is a good killer, makes him get hits too easily??? (reality wraith is weak in any outdoor setting and this helps him in that while not affecting interactions when you don't have a long line of sight like in a jungle gym, in a building, or indoor map. he also wouldn't get free hits too much unless you go against some really oblivious survivors.)
OoO: perk is too strong and needs a rework, most arguments to any rework idea is this
argument:OoO is only problematic in swf so they need to nerf it to include that (never will happen), 2# the perk is fine and actually a hindrance to the one using it or its strength is exaggerated and good killers can deal with it (true in solo not swf because the user doesn't mind dying to let the team win also the strength of the perk in a swf is completely related to the users ability to give info), new OoO rework is too weak to the current OoO (literally the point because OoO is OP).
any meta perk idea
argument: mostly complete biased arguments same goes for whatever change was presented to the perk which either doesn't affect it or nerfs it too much so it no longer does what its supposed to do. there are always some good or decent ideas but biased players will still argue because they don't want the perk changed.
What I noticed is survivors usually agree with killers even when they are constantly insulted
