Honestly, they should just stop with secret offerings. Survivors should know if there's a Mori in the game, just as much as killers should know if there's a Key.
-
- Jason Vorhees (Friday the 13th)
- Eve (Parasite Eve)
- Nemesis (Resident Evil)
- Pinhead (Hellraiser)
- The Fisherman (I know what you did last summer)

Here's the changes I think Pig needs:
#1. Her Stealth needs an upgrade. Let's face it, its by far the weakest stealth in the game. She moves slower than Nurse! Why does she move slower than Nurse? It's ridiculous. She also has a standard terror radius, which makes her stealth even less useful. Remember survivors have spine chill to counter stealth.
Solution: Reduce her terror radius to 24 Meters. Increase her speed while crouched to 4.0 M/S. This allows her to make use of her stealth a little more.
#2. Her Ambush needs an upgrade. As far as anti-loop tools go on basekits of killers, this is probably the weakest. A good survivor will know to run away from the loop as soon as she crouches, and make distance. On Long Loops, its very easy for this ability to miss. There's very little reward to Ambush plays, though you can get some nice hits on certain levels and loops.
Solution: Reduce the cooldown on missed ambush attacks. Increase the length of time the Ambush attack lasts by about double. This allows it to work on longer loops, and is less punishing when it misses for an attack that's not that strong to begin with.
#3. Her RBT's need stabilization. Right now they're incredibly swingy. Survivors can get them off at the first Box, and they do nothing. Or they can get them off on the 4th box, and it provide a lot of room for snowballing. You cannot rely on this power, because #1. You only have four. #2. They only work before the last generator is completed #3. They rely heavily on RNG. and #4. You have to get a down to even use them, and I believe Pig is the ONLY killer in the game to have that requirement for what is their primary power. That's a lot of downsides to what is supposed to be her 'main' power.
Solution: Add 1 box at default. Survivors now must find TWO keys instead of one. This means survivors will always have to search at least 2 boxes to get their traps off. Then add 20 seconds to the timer. Maybe 30. This slight change makes them a little less swingy.
#4. Her Add-ons are terrible. The ones that affect skillchecks? Useless. The ones that give status effects? Unless you want to tunnel them (and you don't!) they're ... you guessed it, Useless! Her add-ons need to be fixed.
Solution: Make skill checks on boxes affected by perks. Things like Huntress Lullaby and Unnerving Presence. i see no reason why they shouldn't. Aside from that here's how I'd change her addons:
Addon: Utility Blades
- Old Effect: Survivors caught in a Reverse Bear Trap suffer from the Haemorrhage status effect .
- New Effect: Slightly increases duration of the Ambush attack
Addon: Slow Release Toxin
- Old Effect:
-
It gives the survivors a huge heads up. And if you're playing Freddy good luck mindgaming ANYONE.
-
I've seen survivors do gens with traps on their head. And then go to the first box they find and get it off. At which point I feel like screaming.
-
I agree that camping (and even tunneling) need to make things harder for the killer. At the same time, NOT doing those things should make things easier for killer. There has to be compensation on both sides. Killers need to be rewarded for leaving the hook. And at this point, they really aren't.
I think the answer lies somewhere in making Gen Times longer if the killer is in chase, and shorter if a survivor is on the hook. (Gen times are normal if the killer isn't in chase, and nobody is on the hook). Then give survivors some ability to get away from the hook (Don't make BT base, but I'd say give them the haste status, and then maybe a repair penalty for one minute after being unhooked.) It's not a perfect solution by any means, but I think that's the general area I'd recommend starting with.
-
Killers I want to see:
-Jason Vorhees (Friday the 13th)
-Eve (Parasite Eve)
-The Fisherman (I Know What You Did Last Summer)
-Pinhead (Hellraiser)
-Candyman (Candyman)
-Nemesis (Resident Evil)
-A Werewolf
-A Vampire
-Samara (The Ring)
-
I think I could almost not suck as Clown... if I could figure out how to aim his dang bottles.

That challenge requires Ace's 3 unique perks.
You get 4 perks. I got it with Spine Chill as my 4th. Thought I got the other Ace challenge, but forgot to unhook a second survivor. (And my team left me behind to escape with a key after I finished the last gen)

Most of us miss old Freddy, for balance and fun and unique gameplay purposes. Name any other killer with anywhere near this number of powers in one kit/add-ons:
- Teleporting to any incomplete gen, being able to fake the power for only a small cost of it
- Traps that cannot be avoided by crouching over them, disarming, etc., and immediately trigger if standing upon them while falling asleep; as well as no casting penalty/cooldown
- A power that passively works against survivors, along with actively applying it with a successful attack
- Constant oblivious status affect on survivors, except for the few minutes they're able to be awake during the match (negating the ability to safe hook rescue with Borrowed Time)
- Fake pallets that penalize the survivor for removing them, except for the common variant (aura revealed; any other killer with add-ons that reveal auras are rare or higher quality as well, whereas Freddy has an uncommon variant)
- Permanent slowdown add-ons of relatively low rarity (compare to Hillbilly's old slowdown add-ons/Huntress's Begrimed Head)
Here are some proposed fixes for each point:
- Force Freddy to commit to teleporting to gens, not attach it to a very rare add-on
- Allow survivors to avoid puddles by crouch walking over them, and not trigger by simply falling asleep passively; and, slow Freddy down while casting puddles
- Remove the passive falling asleep, and allow survivors to go to more than one alarm clock on the map to wake up
- Remove Oblivious from Freddy's basekit, or fix Borrowed Time to trigger based on a killer's proximity to the hook
- Don't let fake pallet tokens regenerate if the fake pallet is dropped by a survivor, or remove the aura reading affect from the add-ons
- Increase the rarity of the slowdown add-ons
- No. This is a terrible idea and is a massive nerf. Faking your teleport is a perfectly fine application of his power.
- Hard disagree. Puddles should not be avoidable. And Freddy shouldn't be slowed down while casting them. They just aren't powerful enough to warrant it. Especially since they only affect asleep survivors.
- Passive Falling asleep is necessary. You don't even need an alarm clock to wake up. Missing a skill check will do the trick, as will having another survivor do it for you.
- I'd be fine with BT working with survivors who are asleep. That's the only reasonable nerf I think.
- No way. Fake Pallets are pathetically weak as it is. They don't need to be nerfed further.
- Nah, they're pretty weak as is. Maybe if you buffed them, I could get behind this. But they barely add any time to generators.
-
Solo experience is terrible.
"Oh my teammate got in a locker after all the gens are done? Guess I'll point him out even though he's the obsession and the killer might have Rancor."
"Oh my teammate is on his second hook, and just finished the last generator? Better leave through the hatch instead of trying to save him."
It's not the killer that's the problem. It's other survivors. Some of them are really bad teammates.

Yeah but I didn't see tampered timer there.
Look at Amanda's letter. Now imagine what it would do it combined with Tampered Timer.

Tampered timer is 30 seconds...
Did you read the OP?

Amanda's letter should be a Purple Add-on and have no downside tbh. Wraith has it as a Purple, and Blight has it as green.

The point if it being a TAMPERED TIMER is that it ticks down faster. And is just the timer.
I'm also not a fan of having the RBT's apply status effects, and while these changes are nice, I still don't like effects like Exhausted or Mangled on the RBT's.
Shotgun Collars and Death Masks also seem a bit off to me. One note of contention that I have is "What if BOTH add-ons are equipped at the same time?
Tampered Timer needs changed. It's a bad add-on. Way too swingy, and ridiculous for survivors to deal with IF RNG hits them the wrong way. If you make it instead a Tampered Box, where Survivors have to search 4 boxes (5 with add-ons) but the timer is increased, it'd be a lot less swingy, and wouldn't be designed specifically to get head pops (which as Pig, you don't want. They're not rewarding in any way)
-
@OtakuFreak said:
I feel like one of her add-ons, perhaps ultra rare, should make it so survivors MUST search 2+ boxes in order to get a trap off, so it doesn't come off with the first box and gives the pig more stalling time with her power (reducing RNG for her).
Probably won't be fun for the survivor, but the pig is pretty bad right now.
That'd be pretty weak for an Ultra Rare.
I think they should make Tampered Timer an Ultra Rare.
Tampered Timer increases the time by 30 seconds (instead of decreasing it)
But then the survivor must search ALL four boxes to find the key.
-
Amanda's letter is way too nasty. Especially if you pair it with Tampered Timer. Two gens pop at once, and that's a minute off the timer. I think more of her add-ons should affect stealth and her ambush attack rather than RBT's (which need some help. It really sucks for Killers when survivors get their trap off on their first try. (Which happens way too often). She's way too RNG based which she should NOT be. Especially since she's limited to 4 traps (6 with add-ons) and can't use them after the last gen pops.
-
I have crossplay on.
I've run into hacker survivors. Never killer, so far. At least not that I'm aware of.
-
- Buff killers
- Buff Perks
- Reduce Bloodpoint cost of everything by 1000 points. Roughly cutting the grind by 25%.
-
Yeah, I've seen that happen.
One called me 'useless' despite the fact that he went down in chase after 10 seconds against a Pig, and I had to unhook him and his buddy twice. Why no, I didn't get any gens done while I was busy trying to save everyone on the other side of the map for 90% of the match.
I've seen some nicer ones, though. Those are the ones I tend to give a follow to. They also tend to have more followers.

Learn Hag. She's free on PS4 as well I think. It's not hard to be a nasty hag, and she has Ruin.
-
Issues I see:
-You'd be required to cleanse against Plague, cutting out an entire counter-play against her.
-You'd be forced to heal against Legion, who will just re-injure you in 20 seconds anyway cutting out a lot of counterplay against him. (He/she needs buffs, though)
-Would be a huge nerf to resilience.
-Would probably push survivors into gen-rushing more. Get the gens done and out the door before you go into the dying state.
-
So if me and my friends want to all run diversion we can't?

You need 9 hooks, 1 hook on each survivor and a 4k.
I've gotten a 3K and managed Iri before. But I think it's cause one guy DC'd and was on the hook when he DC'd.

Added: Parasite Eve. Mitochondira Eve / Aya Brea Killer/Survivor pairing.
Not added: Yeah, FNAF. Don't really care for that one. So if I had to keep something out, that'd probably be it. It'd probably be the one DLC I wouldn't buy unless they did something really out of left field.
-
The issue isn't gen speeds at all, it's that killers start with zero pressure. Just look at Hexy's tournament. Otzdarva had a game where he spent two minutes without a chase. Two minutes. Otzdarva. A killer main who plays this game for a living had trouble finding survivors. That should pretty much never happened.
At the beginning of the game, survivors feel too safe to complete gens. So all the pressure is on the killer to start their first chase, and finish it. And that is the problem. In the early game, killers lack any pressure. Some killers are better at applying that early pressure than others. It's why Ghostface, who can mark a single survivor and get an insta-down right out the gate, is higher tier than Myers who can make everyone exposed for a period of time but takes a lot longer to do it.
Once you start building pressure, the game shifts back toward the killer. Gens slow down naturally.
What killers really need is help finding survivors early on, and a little early-game pressure.
I do agree, however, that generator regression just isn't rewarding enough. I think kicking a gen should instantly regress the generator by 5%. You'd have to buff surge (Pop would probably stay about the same) and definitely buff Overcharge (it needs it even if regression isn't buffed). But it wouldn't really solve the problems killers often face.
-
I'm cool with that. I'll take linked-cosmetic sets if it means we get stuff like Silent Hill.
-
They fixed a lot of killer issues, including how dark it is on the new maps in the Dream World. (Which definitely affected Killers). They simply couldn't fix it in time, and if they rushed it they'd probably have brand new bugs. Maybe the next one would've caused the killer to hook themselves instead of the survivor if they'd rushed it.
-
Cut Coin is another. I want survivors to search chests! That's time they're spent not doing something else lol.
-
Any map offerings are bound to screw me by chance.
Thicken the mist offerings on most killers, cause I can't spot survivors for anything anyway. Why do I want to make it WORSE?!
Shroud of Separation. Why would i use this again? And why isn't there a Shroud of Binding for Killers? That'd make a little more sense. Especially if you have discordance.
Luck Offerings always seem to make people try to Kobe and don't really do much for you. They should totally affect chests.

Honestly glad you meant healing, because I absolutly suck as Nurse. I'm worse than a potato with her. I usually run Kindred and a healing perk but I'll try that combo. I just want to get these challenges done for the rift so I may have to throw a few games for it, so if anyone get's matched with me, I apologise in advance for it!
Just pray you don't get matched up with a Plague like I just did. They're terrible for getting Benevolent points. (And I always seem to get teammates who cleanse every time they get sick)

I can't even get past the first challengs of either side. Can't get Devout because I keep getting super Altruistic survivors, and can't get survivors because killers are going crazy tunnel-vision on everyone. Fun times lie ahead!
Tip: Empathy + We'll Make It + Kindred. Go for unhooks, take protection hits, and play Nurse (Nurse as in healing, not as in the killer, though blinking would be useful)
-
If it's a Gen, then it's my job to stop them from doing a generator.
If it's a totem, I usually ignore them though. That way it encourages them to do totems and spend time on a side objective. Not that they notice...

For Extinction of Hope any expose + kill counts as long as you have DH equipped whether the hex gets broken or not.
Just play Ghostface or Meyers - get 5 hooks, and Green Mori one person. Done in one match
Could also go the fun path of Hex: DH, Hex: Haunted Grounds, Hex: Thrill of the Hunt, Hex: Retribution... but that's up to you
Yeah, I know any expose counts. But that's assuming you have Devour Hope on Myers or Ghostface.
-
I've run into hackers maybe a couple times. One was a survivor who did two gens in like 20 seconds. The killer DC'd (I don't blame him).
-
It can be bought in the shrine for Iri Shards when it comes up. As long as there's an obsession in the trial though, most killers will assume you have it and that does the job.
-
You don't have to be. But if you aren't, don't come complaining when the other side makes the game unfun for you. You're a killer who likes to camp and tunnel? That's fine. But don't come moaning about how survivors brought 4 BNP's, 4 DS's, 3 Unbreakables, and Object of Obsession. You're a survivor who likes to run OoO and make killers DC? Don't complain when they camp and tunnel you.

No problem! This game's grind is almost disheartening sometimes.
I've only been playing for 8 months, feels like I've barely scratched the surface with survivors and perks.
I've been playing a little longer than that (since last Christmas). I unlocked all the perks once on Nintendo Switch (Largely thanks to the 1.5x BP event they had for a couple weeks) but then switched over to PS4 and now have to do it again. Finally go the survivors done, now I just need to finish up my killers. Which I have half done. (Yeah, I play way too much DBD lately). Just have Trapper, Wraith, Billy, Huntress, Spirit, Legion, Demogorgon, Oni, Deathslinger, and Blight left.
The grind is a real pain. I'd love to see them reduce it even just a little. Reducing prices by 1000 bp would cut the grind by a quarter!
Best way to do it is to play mostly killer with BBQ + Chili, and then hope people throw up cakes/streamers. Survivors just don't earn much BP, sadly. Though they're a lot less reliant on add-ons like killers are.
-
Awesome! Always appreciate when people spread news like this. Especially since I'm still working on unlocking all the perks. Just 10 million 800 thousand more BP to go...
-
Extinction of Hope is Yikes.
Obsessive will take around 10 games to complete unless you have an obsession changing perk.
Can we get a Wraith challenge that isn't "Hit from uncloaking x# times in one trial!" please?
Devout Iri emblems are pretty rough to get. Prepare to face some killers ready to slug for the 4K.
On the survivor side...
Stun the killer 10 times... what is it with stunning the killer that the devs are obsessed with? I kind of wish they'd come up with some new challenges.
Avoid 5 basic attacks isn't too bad, you just have to get the killer to whiff.
I feel the devs have lost all creativity when it comes to challenges. Most of these are been there, done that, got the t-shirt. Others are slight modifications of old challenges.

I tunneled someone tonight for 'tunneling' a generator. They finished it right in my face after I hit them. So when they got unhooked, I downed them again, ate their DS, downed them a third time, and put them on the hook again. After that, I left them alone for a bit. I hooked at least three people, maybe even four, before hooking them for a third time. Got a 'Nice tunnel' message from them after the game. I thanked them for the compliment, and told them that their tunneling of the generator was nice too. I don't think it was a dirty play, though some may disagree. I didn't tunnel them out of the game -- even though I could have. And they ended with some decent amount of BP (20k) and probably at the very least safety pipped.
Sometimes, tunneling is a little necessary. You need to create pressure, and a good way to do that is putting someone on their death hook. But for the most part, I try to avoid tunneling someone straight out of the game to turn it into a 3v1. I don't want anyone to leave with less than 8000 BP if I can help it. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, though it can be very not-fun for survivors.
-
They made it so you don't need a flashlight to play Freddy on Badham and Yamaoka.
-
Being on console, I have a very bad time if I don't have Plaid Flannel. I can ALMOST beat rank 20's if I use it though!
-
Survivor: Kindred. It's great information, including where the killer is and what your teammates are doing. Instead of having two people go for the unhook, only one has to. Less useful in an SWF, though you still can see where the killer is headed next. Dead Hard is good, but unreliable. Sprint Burst is pretty close, but there's a lot of times it just won't get used. DS is powerful, but if you don't get hooked or the killer doesn't tunnel you, you don't get any use out of it. Yeah, Kindred doesn't give information if nobody gets hooked, but if nobody gets hooked, did you really need a perk slot for it?
Killer: Save the Best for Last. Better on some killers than others, but this is one that will generally shorten your chases. Instead of taking forever to clean your weapon, you clean it much faster and continue the chase. This gets you downs quicker. Pop is good, but can be a waste of time. BBQ is excellent as well, but unless you're a mobile killer you won't get quite as much use out of it. Plus survivors just hop in lockers to avoid it. Which can be useful time waster I guess, but most survivors assume BBQ no matter where you're headed. Corrupt Intervention is good, but a lot of survivors will wait it out. But unless you have a VERY bad game, you'll probably get some use out of STBFL. Less on some killers, like Huntress if you're a crack shot. But it definitely comes in handy saving you time on the M1. BBQ's rewards though are fantastic. But in terms of in-game value STBFL is IMO the best Killer perk.
-
The problem with Pig is that while she has three powers, they're all very underwhelming. I'm sure she gets a decent number of kills, partly because survivors don't face her that often and don't know how to deal with her. I'll often find survivors working on generators with a trap on their head. That makes them easy to down later. But if you look at how long it takes her to get her first down, you'll see why she's underpowered.
Her first power is her stealth. The upside is that she has no terror radius (similar to Ghostface, Wraith, Tier 1 Myers, and Deathslinger). But her natural terror radius is 32 Meters, and she moves slower than Nurse when crouched. Like most stealth, hers is countered hard by Spine Chill, but Pig can't as easily avoid spine chill like Wraith can. She has some of the weakest stealth in the game because her terror radius is a normal 32 meter terror radius, and she's just too slow while in stealth.
Her second power is her ambush attack. This is her looping power, and as far as Anti-Loop goes, its among the weakest in the game. Against a good survivor, it won't do much if anything. The only real positive thing about her ambush attack is that it doesn't count as a STBFL attack, allowing her to conserve stacks against the Obsession. The cooldown on a missed attack is pretty rough, too.
Then her final, and arguably primary, power is the Reverse Bear Trap. This is a slowdown ability. There's three things bad about this power though: #1. You have to down someone before you can even use it, and Pig doesn't have much to help her get downs other than being a basic M1 Killer. Her stealth can help a little, but not a lot. #2. It stops working entirely once all the gens are done. Meaning if you struggle to get any downs before the last gen pops, Pig is limited to her two powers (much like Freddy). Now, it definitely has the potential to be as strong as Freddy's teleport. But that ties into Problem #3 which is... it's heavily RNG reliant. That makes it very swingy. Some games you'll do well, and it'll waste a lot of the survivors time. And in other games they'll get their traps off at the first or second box. It's the least reliable power in the game.
Overall, she's an amazingly fun character to play as, but her powers are a bit too weak. Then you have her add-ons, which just don't make sense and you get a character who's pretty much bottom tier in terms of going against good survivors. She's just not reliable. Her power could buy you 150 seconds per survivor, or it can only buy you 20 seconds. And in order to even use that power, she has to down people, which she has little help as far as her power goes. Her power just requires way more work, and can potentially do a lot less than other powers. I think all of her powers need some buffs to make her what she can be. (Not necessarily a full re-work, but some nice buffs like Leatherface got)
-
No, I'd say maybe reduce the stun by a second though. So instead of a 5 second stun, its a 4 second stun. Enough time to get away, but doesn't make the killer feel like they lost 3 gens in the stun time.
-
Am I the only one who was very confused by it at first? I was like "Where's that truck?"
-
Blight is a lot harder to control, whereas Legion controls like normal. A much faster Legion who could use his power every 10 seconds with a short stun would be a bit too strong. Legion definitely needs some buffs, but I don't think looking at Blight is the right answer. Legion's stun needs to be reduced, and probably let him actually have a way to down people with his power.
