  • I mean if you camp, don't be surprised you get called a camper. Nobody thinks it'll change the way you play. It's just their only way to lash out at a pretty crappy thing to do. Aside from going further and being more toxic than that. "Camper" is pretty mild compared to some of the insults they could use.

  • Sometimes we do other things while waiting for a lobby.

  • My only complaint is that people stopped using it, so now I have to run it so that my teammates don't get tunneled by overzealous killers. I'd much rather run a different perk, because I have Dead Hard -- which most of the time gets me far away enough from a tunneling killer that DS would never proc even if the killer is tunneling.

  • The problem with Pig is less her traps, and more that she just doesn't have any power in chase. I mean she's got stealth, but it's way too slow. And she's got the ambush attack, but it's too easy to avoid. Except for Trickster, she's probably got the weakest chase potential in the game Then RNG can screw you over.

  • Iri Photocard is pretty strong, or at least it seemed like it when I went up against it. I mean Trickster is still awful, but Iri Photocard is pretty strong.

  • Oh, but I can tell you the DUMBEST reason I tunneled a survivor:

I thought they had OoO. But they didn't, and I had Bitter Murmur. It's a perk I almost never use, so I forgot what it did, and had no idea why I was seeing this Zarina's aura. (And only hers!) I wasn't going to let her go. They were very understanding though. If she weren't the obsession that match, she probably survives.

  • Don't know, I never ask killers why they camped me.

  • I play more survivor than killer, but I play a bit of killer. Sometimes it depends on which queue is shorter. Sometimes it's a matter of playing SWF with my cousin (not on comms, though). I'd say I'm a 60/40 player. With 60% of my games or so being Survivor, and 40% being killer.

  • Was it needed? Absolutely.

Should they have compensated us by making there be an obsession every game? They probably should have tbh.

  • I move on to the next game. Might switch sides a while if Queue times allow.

  • I was able to play it on a normal PS4. I've since moved on to PS5, which is much quieter with better framerates. Not sure if it could now, since I deleted the game from PS4 (no reason to have it on there anymore)

So i randomly found a key every single time I opened a chest without having Plunderer? You have to admit that’s odd.

Was anyone else running Plunderer's? Because Chests are the same for everyone I think, except maybe if you have Pharmacy?

Scott would probably be the breath of life this game needs if he was hired by BHVR, he actually knows what the balance of DBD should be.

He has some good ideas, but some bad ones too. I think Otz has the best sense of balance of all the streamers I've watched (which admittedly isn't many)

I also disagree that BHVR has no incentive to improve their game. Because they've been doing that. They've just been doing it really slowly. I mean they recently gave Wraith a nice buff. Last year we got all new maps. Doctor is actually playable now. Clown is a little better. They could be a little more open with us. They don't even have to give specifics. Just be like "Yeah, we're looking at Trapper. We know that he's add-on dependent, and we'd like to fix that. We can't give you a timeframe right now, but know that we're working on it." I think that'd satisfy most reasonable people.

  • NoED is a perk that rewards bad killers. It teaches them bad habits too. That 4% speed boost is absolutely stupid. NoED needs some changes, so that bad killers aren't rewarded with a free kill (or more if the team is unlucky). It's unhealthy for the game.

  • Here's how I think he should be buffed:

-Only takes 6 knives to make a survivor lose a health state.

-Laceration meter only goes down if survivors perform a mending action OR they take a hit from an M1 attack.

-Trickster moves at 4.0 m/s when throwing

    -Ricochet Blades made base kit.

    -Reduce recoil

-Main event can be activated at any time and does not decay. No cooldown for throwing knives after the event ends. Trickster moves at normal movement speed during main event.

-Death Throes Compilation changed to do normal laceration damage, and instead do DOUBLE laceration damage during main event. Increases time to activate main event.

None of the perks this chapter are any good. Even Starstruck, the best of all 6, is still less than viable.

Nurse + Distressing + Starstruck + Infectious Fright = GG.

Ehh, I'm happy with him. Level 1 with only CC and I got a 4k with a controller :D Played against him too, it was fine. They averaged a 2.8 kill. It will get better once people actually get their preferred builds on him. One poor dude even had coulrophobia cause he had nothing better. Still got a 3k. Red/purple ranks btw

I'm a red rank survivor. Only one Trickster I faced got a single kill. And that's because he camped and tunneled pretty hard. One trickster basement camped (only in end game) and still couldn't get a kill.

  • In all fairness, hitting with a knife is much easier than getting a hit with a hatchet. But I think there's too much effort required for him to get a down with them. Maybe reduce the necessary hits to 6 instead of 8. Then require survivors to perform a mend-type action to remove laceration. I'd like to see Ricochet as Basekit too. (I'd keep his knives at 60, because 60 sometimes just doesn't feel like enough with how easy it is to miss due to recoil)

Like, I can't hit with Huntress's hatchets for the life of me. But I got like 3 downs with Trickster's knives.

  • I like him too. That's why I'd like to see him buffed.

  • I think they should revert the uncloaking speed, but I wouldn't say he's worse now. He's definitely better than he was before.

Using dead hard for distance (the part I keep mentioning that you seem to conveniently omit) is literally just pressing a button. And it has no counter.

Hitting a survivor is literally just pushing a button too. Guess there's no way to outplay anyone in this game!

It has a couple of counters, actually. There's even a perk for it: Blood Echo. Not to mention the exposed status effect, killers with one-shot abilities, etc. Exhaustion add-ons too.

And if you're using it for distance, you won't get much distance unless you're either: A. In a strong area (which you led the chase to), B. In a weak area, and it does nothing for you, or C. Near a pallet/window, which if you time it late then you get hit, and if you time it early you just make the pallet earlier than you would've anyway. And if you're in a weak area, you wait out the dead hard, which is another counter for it.

You're aware that to get to the dead zone, you had to go there yourself. Meaning, the killer either zoned you to that spot, or you just ran there yourself.

You're aware that using dead hard is more than just pushing a button. You have to use it at the right time if you want to get much use out of it. You don't just push E and then suddenly get teleported away from the killer. You have to time your dead hard properly. If you're too late, you don't make the pallet/window. And if you use it too early, you were making the pallet/window anyway.

Wait wait wait - so what you're saying is, if I as a killer outplay a survivor, and they should go down, they have dead hard, so they're just better? Because they have dead hard? You're saying I should accept it as a loss because they pressed a button?

If a survivor SHOULDN'T make it to a pallet or a vault, but they dead hard for distance (which has no counter even if you know it's coming), which can extend a chase for X amount of time depending on where they get distance toward, I should just "accept" that loss because they had dead hard and were just better than me for pressing a button?

When's the last time you saw a survivor accept a loss to NOED?

In what world is it "fair" to outplay a person just to have them press a button, and activate an ability that was literally handed to them for failure, aka being hit.

So if a killer downs me in a dead zone where there's nothing to play, and they down me, they're just better? Because they found me in a dead zone? You're saying I should accept it as a loss because of RNG?

What perk are we complaining about next after Dead Hard Nerf?

Sprint Burst, Spine Chill or Iron Will probably.

  • He's the weakest. Twins are the worst, though. Terrible design on their part.

  • I mean then you just turn him into an M1 Killer that has no reason to ever use his knives. I think his power needs to be more powerful. Ricochet base kit would be a good start, followed by reducing the amount of knives it takes. Maybe make survivors perform an action to actually recover from knife wounds.

  • I'd use other perks, but they're too hard to get any value from. Why bother using perks you can't get value out of?

  • You've really underestimated Huntress, Deathslinger, Clown, Ghostface, Legion, Leatherface and Plague. And you've overestimated Doctor and Pig.

Can the clown throw bottles after the gates pop. Does any other killer lose their power why does Fred.

    *Makes sad oinking sounds*

Also, Freddy still literally has blood pools after the exit gates are powered. So this argument doesn't even hold water. Freddy could never teleport to the exit gates. So he didn't lose any ability. Not sure why I'm engaging though, when it's clear you're not having this discussion in good faith.

  • If we get anything from Square-Enix, I'd rather it be Parasite Eve. But I'd have to admit OWA as a chase theme would be lit.

  • Also worth mentioning that being exposed would be meaningless if you're injured. So you could use this perk at any time to just give the killer absolutely nothing.

  • Because he teleports to generators, not exit gates. He can't teleport to powered generators, why should he be able to teleport to a powered exit gate?

  • Your perk icon looks cool.

But this perk would be OP. You could use this 40 meters from the killer, and as long as you can last 15 seconds in chase, the killer would be denied any pressure. Even with a 180 second cooldown, it simply wouldn't work. 25 seconds is too long for the endurance status effect (why is it longer than the exposed status?) The downside isn't nearly strong enough.

When thinking about perks, consider how other perks are designed. For example, mettle of man has an 'endurance' type effect, but requires a LOT to proc. Borrowed Time grants the endurance effect but only inside the killer's terror radius and only for 15 seconds. On the other hand, Soul Guard lasts 8 seconds, but works only when being picked up from the ground.

  • I'll never get the "Press button on their keyboard" argument. Isn't that all anyone ever does when they play either side? "Oh you hit me? All you had to do is hit a button. I was out in the open in a dead zone. So totally outplayed. You're literally faster than me." That's how people sound when they complain about "Pressing a button on a keyboard". Like... how else is anyone going to get outplayed? Taking your hands off your keyboard/controller?

the thread i made about it was officially requested. i doubt there was enough time to make any changes, if the argument was even considered, so i'm pretty much slotted to take a break from dbd for awhile unless a miracle happens.

Unfortunately I think two weeks (when you posted the thread. Good thread btw) is too little time for the Devs to fix anything in that regard. If we're lucky maybe we'll see something in the 5th anniversary update.

  • Felix's outfit is pretty cool.

Hipster Dwight doesn't look quite given his personality. I just can't imagine Dwight wearing that.

Nice to see Adam finally getting more outfits, even if I never play him.

I hate Feng's outfit. I may have to tunnel anyone wearing that outfit, because their life decisions clearly need reexamining.

  • I think Devour Hope's fate should be tied to Dead Hard's fate.

If you nerf one, the other should get nerfed as well. If you keep one the same, you keep them both the same. Personally, I'd rather have both sides having strong perk with major effects on the game. But if we start removing them from one side, we should start removing them from the other as well.

  • Dead Hard isn't a problem. If it is then there's a few killer perks that should be targeted, including their own DH.

  • Spirit. Most killers I haven't played for a while.

  • @Mooks said:

Extra week was due to other reasons. Main changes tomorrow will be those that were already revealed.

i also think he will turn out stronger than anticipated by the community (not necessarily S or A tier though), just like Deathslinger who was also predicted to be oh so bad specially compared to Huntress.

I think what really hurts Trickster is the recovery rate, and having to get 8 hits. It's probably easier to get hits as Trickster than Huntress, but not 8x easier.

  • 5 hooks = Two teammates on death hook. Or one dead teammate.

  • my-image (6).png

    • Nurse ignores all of a survivor's defense, except line of sight. Pallets? Nurse mains don't know what they are, and they don't get why people complain about The Game map.
    • Hag, much like Nurse, plays her own game. Hag can be a struggle if you're not good with her, but she's very strong.
    • Spirit is very fast, her power takes no time to come back at all, and has little to no counter at loops.
    • Blight is also extremely fast, and now will have his POV fixed. Very strong killer that can turn a match into a stomp relatively quickly.
    • Pyramid Head can ignore a bunch of survivor perks including Decisive, and can hit through walls.
    • Oni's early game is pretty bad, but if he can get that first hit he's golden. Well balanced killer that can snowball extremely well.
    • Huntress can hit from long distances, and ignore a lot of loops.
    • Freddy has slowdown addons that are unnecessary, and a couple of strong powers including teleportation.
    • Deathslinger doesn't have the range Huntress does, but is still very slow. His 110 speed is justified, mind you, but he's just not as strong.
    • Bubba has a strong one shot, and is better than Billy.
    • Plague can infect survivors, and has minor tracking, plus she can injure survivors without touching them.
    • Billy has an insta-down, but there's not much reason to choose him over Bubba these days. Goes to show Map Mobility isn't everything.
    • Doctor has good slowdown, the best tracking in the game, and a decent anti-loop ability.
    • Ghostface can be a tad inconsistent, but he can stalk survivors to expose them, but his stealth is pretty good on its own.
    • Wraith, post-buff, will be fairly strong I think. It's hard to say without playing him. But he might be fixed?!
    • Twins have some weaknesses, and some easy counters. If you run anti-slug perks against her, she will suffer. Victor is pretty strong, but Charlotte can be left powerless at times. She does force survivors to heal. But if they do, she won't have an easy time.
    • Clown still needs some help, but the yellow bottles and faster reload speed move him up from D Tier
    • Demogorgon needs some help, but his portals are pretty strong. His shred is also nice, but could use a slight buff.
    • Legion can get free first hits, but then he's basically an M1 killer who loses his power for downing people.
    • Myers starts at a massive disadvantage, and is basically an M1 Killer with faster vaults and a small terror radius OR Insta-downs and even faster vaults. Tier 1 is just frustrating, though.
    • Trapper has to retrieve his power, but at least he has add-ons that address his weaknesses. (Some of which should be made base kit...)
    • Pig's boxes are VERY strong. But if you can deny her that first down, you can deny her the strongest power she has. And in the end game, she's almost powerless. Her boxes are also very reliant on RNG, and none of her add-ons are particularly consistent. Some of her addons make it easier on survivors. She CAN kill survivors without downing them a second time, but she still has to get that first down to do it. And she has very little in her kit to help her get there.
    • Trickster just seems very weak. Not sure how he'll be on release tomorrow, but 8 hits from a 110 killer (that go away after a short period!) just seems unjustified no matter how fast he throws.

No one would. It sucks being in that situation. But I would always try and stay in the game as long as possible to get the most points I can

To be fair, if you're on the hook you aren't earning any more points if there's no chance you're going to be saved. Sucks for the Nea. Claudette is to blame, but survivors will probably blame you because it's hard to see things from the other side's point of view.

Starting tomorrow though, you'll be able to let Claudette get that save, then down her and hook her for playing dumb because she won't have DS anymore after unhooking.

No I have to be on a side unless your one of my friends that I play with on the weekends I'm merkin you if I can no more letting people go cause I feel bad they did it to themselves. have 30 Iri hatches saved up on playstation.Probaly more on xbox.My Gen destruction build For who ever Pop,brutal strength Oppression Survillance or discordance. Have fun.

That's your choice. Enjoy trying to make other people miserable because of one group of people were rude to you. Don't complain when the survivors you run into start running BNP's, DS, Unbreakable, and everything else in the game they can.

  • Spawn next to the killer.

  • Only time I ever got invited to party chat as killer, it was from this team I let go. They were very nice and friendly and thanked me. (I had them all two hooked by the time they had one gen done). But they were new players (I was new on PS4, so I was starting over at Rank 20).

I've received nasty messages from survivors before, but I've got a few really nice ones too. Some from people I've let go. Even a couple from some people I straight up camped.

Much like with killers, survivors are all individuals. Some of them toxic, some of them not. I wouldn't judge players on one side solely based on the actions of a few.

  • I've had mixed experiences with streamers. One bagged on me for not having tier 3 perks. (Like... why?) Another thought I was crazy (in a good way) for coming back to save them after the killer had one guy slugged, and him on the hook and the killer wouldn't leave the area (The two of us got out. The third guy wasn't so lucky, even though he evaded the killer pretty well after I picked him up. He just couldn't find the exit gates I think). I've had ones that just trash talk the whole game, and others who are just playing for fun. Had a streamer killer give me the hatch, while another complained about playing against a highly coordinated team (we were solos) -- though to be fair to that last guy, he wasn't toxic about it in the least. He just assumed we were playing in an SWF.

But let's be real here for a moment: Streamers are no different than other players. There's probably some toxic players out there who complain about how you play, and you just don't see it/hear it because they aren't streaming (or if they are, they don't advertise it). Some you do hear, because they'll send you a message. Unless it's some big name streamer, they're probably getting like 6 viewers max and not really making any money off of you. And most of the ones who DO make money off of it usually tend to be the nicer streamers with some exceptions.

My advice: Feel free to check out their streams. But you don't have to. If you do, and they're rude, just leave the stream. No need to watch what they think about your play. They didn't have your Point of View, so they don't really have room to judge how you played. All they can see is what they see. It's like getting a nasty message after a game. You can ignore it.
