Why nobody talk about Fast Track?

100% meta perk.

5 hooks = 1BNP.

And you can get even more token than that.

Imagine 4 player all bring this perk+BNP

WOW

I 100% going to buy this DLC for that

  • It's not really that good.

We already have better perks to choose

  • It is a decent perk but probably not meta.

It's hard to tell as it's a gen perk, those are never bad but not necessarily meta. If it gets stacked with other gen perks it could make pretty crazy builds (espcially in SWF) but alone probably not.

    Why?

It is even more powerful than BNP in my opinion.

    And it is even not a 1 time-use add-on

  • I could see it being really good in solo.

  • 5 hooks = 15 stacks of fast track

    15 stacks = 15% bonus progression

    bnp = 25% bonus progression

not the same but also that means you are playing with 3 perks for a large portion of the match and skipping a bunch of skillckecks progression / not working on gens for 5 hooks of teamates which means you are pretty close to a game losing situation

A BNP only takes up one add-on slot and is likely to save you more seconds over a match than this perk. This takes up a perk slot and is likely to save you fewer seconds over a match than this perk. The BNP is also more flexible because it doesn't depend on getting and hitting a great skill check. You can use it on command.

5 hooks is only the same as a BNP if you can't hit skill checks. Those skill checks should really be hit, so you need a minimum of 9 hooks to happen before all gens are completed for this perk to be stronger than a BNP. I say "minimum" because there's no guarantee that you'll be able to use all of the tokens you accrue.

    Really? BNP is more flexible?

    hummm

Because skill check is too hard to hit?

    hummm

    InTeReStInG

    To be seriously

Even you miss the great check you still save the token.

=>you can use it for the next great check.

    =>5 hooks = 1BNP

And BNP need to finish in one time so it could be wasted if you not hit the BNP skill check or being chase by killer during fixing with BNP.

So i think fast track is more flexible than BNP

    BNP is not 15%?

    My bad.

    But still very strong.

  • Yes, and no

BNP gives 15% gen progression guaranteed over the 5 seconds it takes to "install" it

During those 5 seconds you face 2 skillchecks each of which grant 5% bonus progression of succeeded or no bonus progression on a failed skillcheck but also no penalty

    Optimal BNP is 25%

    Sub-Optimal BNP is 20%

    Poorly done BNP is 15%

you don't need to "skipping a bunch of skillckecks progression / not working on gens for 5 hooks of teamates which means you are pretty close to a game losing situation".

You can use it anytime you want.

Of course you can save it by not hit the great hit to make a lot of program in a short time if you want.

    But not necessary.

  • I like it as well. Though it’s not much of bonus, I think it’ll definitely come in clutch.

  • 5 hooks = Two teammates on death hook. Or one dead teammate.

  • Unless you're going for a very specialized build fully dedicated to gen repair, it's not really worth it.

Meta perks are meta for a reason: they allow you to do something invaluable that you cannot otherwise. You can't pick yourself up without Unbreakable (No mither is a meme, Soul guard is unreliable), you can't stun a killer in his grasp without DS, you can't iframe without Dead Hard, etc.

Fast Track can come in clutch in some moments and it is a good perk, but I doubt that in the eyes of the community it will be meta.

    If DS still a thing.

killer need to perfect tunnel 2 people to get 1 kill.

So survivors are still alive at 5 hooks most of time.

  • Fast Track is like Soul Survivor. You only benefit if you're team is getting destroyed, which means you'll probably lose the match if you get good value from your perk

Remember how fast 2BNP match could be.

Now we have 3-4 BNP at 5 hooks and it is a perk not add-on.

I really can't see the reason why this perk would not be meta.

  • No one is talking about it because it isn't good. Just like no one was talking about most of the survivor perks which a minority of people freaked out about being meta.

Meta's gonna be the same just like the last 18 other chapters.

    I have to say no.

5 hooks is not a big number.

This perk will benefit you in most of match.

And for others match you are winning anyway.

4 perk syndrome. To be meta a perk needs to debunk one of the top-performing perks. Fast Track will see play for organized gen rush SWF, just like Prove Thyself does. But it will never be as popular as one of the aforementioned perks bc it doesn't do something invaluable.

Suppose you DS a killer and extend a chase for 30 seconds (not unrealistic) before going down, the best-case scenario you got 3 teammates working on gens for 30 seconds, a net benefit of 90 seconds for the team. It is also not uncommon when bringing a full gen repair build (Prove Thyself, Resilience, etc) to be tunneled by the killer and get no values of your perks.

It's kinda difficult to translate the impact of chase perks to team efficiency, but they do create an invaluable impact on the game.

    IDK

But use 1 perk slot to get a BNP.

It sounds really really good for me even if playing solo.

DS+DH+fast track+BT/arua perk is a really great build for me.

The build sounds amazing. I usually keep 2/3 perks off-meta in my builds for variability. I suggest you combo it with Resilience and/or Stakeout too :D

  • Oh...there will be a lot of talking once swf will start using it

Not really. 5 hooks isn't a big number UNLESS you realize that its 5 teammate hooks and you yourself don't count.

Your teammates only have 9 hooks between them. In a best case scenario, 5 hooks means two teammates are death hook and one has only been hooked once. But most Killers will have someone dead by so scenarios like one teammate dead (three hooks), one teammate death hook (two hooks) and one teammate completely ignored (zero hooks) are more common at high ranks.

And thats not even taking into account that a lot of the unhooks in a game come late game after the gens are done (games that finish early usually involved slugging and killing everyone before they've been three hooked). And late game stacks of Fast Track are useless because there aren't any more gens

  • @[Deleted User] said:

yeah you can use it any time you want.

and then you'e forced off your gen and the killer has ruin or pop.

    It is up to you.

This will happan even you are not using this perk.

  • Prove Thyself will come in handy more often.

The point of fast track was to help survivors push through games that aren't going so well. If they're getting a lot of hooks, and nobody's working on generators, the game grinds to a halt. Fast track hopes to break that stalemate by letting survivors work on generators. It's a nice little safety buoy to help you stay afloat when the ship crashes.

That being said, it doesn't do a very good job at it. Sure, a potential of 54% shaved off of a generator (44-ish seconds) sounds great, but in order to get there, your friends are all dead. I really think that it should be 4 tokens per hook, or give tokens when you are hooked as well.

In the normal game, with 2 dead survivors and the 2 other survivors have been hooked once or twice (we'll assume 1.5), that means (2x3x3)+(1.5x2x3)=24 tokens, 48% saved per fast track, saving you 38 seconds on a gen, if they've all been hooked before the last generator pops, and if the killer doesn't regress the generator. If you could save that 38 seconds in a quick burst, it would be great, but unfortunately it's spread between how often you get great skillchecks. That's assuming they make it so that getting hooked yourself grants tokens too.

If it was 4 tokens per hook, you would get 36 tokens, many of which you aren't going to spend, but granting you a potential 72% or 56 seconds on a gen. Wowee, that's amazing, until you realize that all of your teammates are dead.

So the buff to this is obviously to increase the great skillcheck zone and significantly increase the odds of getting a skillcheck when fast track has tokens. Cut down on the potential gains and translate them into actual gains.

    What?

    No

once you hit the Great check you will use all your tokens in one time.

So you don't need to hit 24 great skill check

  • Oh, survivors are getting yet another perk labelled meta and too strong by killer mains?

Let's not forget survivors haven't had a meta perk since David King, 4 years ago, yet almost every dlc has had a perk that has been deemed "op" by killer mains.

Killer Mains: Ugh SWF are too good and unbeatable

Also Killer Mains: Those unbeatable players are definitely going to bring a perk reliant on hooks to do a couple more percentage on gens instead of just bringing a BNP or toolbox

As long as camping exists, DS will be there IMO. It's the kind of insurance perk that you equip not wanting to use unless you combo it with Deliverance or something.

Yes it will still obviously be played for its actual reason im just saying people won't get 60 seconds off a gen for free anymore which will "hurt its viability at the high ranks" (good).

If this was really going to happen survivors would already always bring BNPs, this trash perk isn't going to encourage anyone to bring bnps lol

  • It's meant to sensibly achieve what the original iteration of Left Behind did. You're very much overestimating the amount of survivors that reliably hit greats. You might as well play the lottery if you hit a great skill check on a next gen console with HDR enabled.

  • I love using Stake Out so I'm loving the idea of this perk so every so often I can get a 4% every so often.

  • It's unironically the perk I'm most excited for in this patch. I'm REALLY excited to try it out with Stake Out.

EDIT: Wait what the ######### I just read the perk description again and HOLY it's actually way more powerful than it looks.
