Most people I’ve seen don’t want buffs on Killer but instead just want buffs on solo q. Essentially making it to where every experience for Killer is SWF, even in solo q. If that happens and no buffs for killer went with it, the game will become just survivors waiting for que.

Almost everyone who says "Buff solo Q" also agrees killers need buffs to compensate.

    1. Early game Pressure for Killers
    2. Camping
    3. Making perks more useful.
  • I don't have much trouble on that map. Survivor spawn points are pretty consistent, and though there's a billion pallets, there's not a whole lot else.

  • I switched from Switch to PS4. It was a pain getting everything back again. I don't think I could do it again. But I've already done it once. Starting over it was a bit easier, though it got hard quick when I ranked up and didn't have good perks.

  • I've had this happen to me today. Just a 5 minute ban, since I hadn't dc'd. But it was clearly a server issue because my internet was fine. in fact it reconnected me to DBD immediately. (Also, I was almost at the exit gate when it dc'd me for no good reason.) I've been having a bit of DBD issues, including some SERIOUS lag. (My ping is never more than 50!) I think there's something up with the servers.

Also I believe this should've only been a one hour ban. Did you reset during those 6 hours to see if the time changed? My cousin had to DC in a game because the killer held the game hostage. (Wouldn't let her open the exit gate, wouldn't let her go to the hatch. Just picked her up, then downed her again when she wiggled free) She got a one hour ban, but upon resetting her game the ban was gone.

  • Iri Handle - If you hit a survivor with a hatchet, you don't lose that hatchet. Increased reloading time.

  • People who think the game should be subscription based should have to pay a subscription, while those who don't shouldn't have to pay one.

Oh wait, you said unpopular. My bad.

  • People are comparing this to Ghostface's stalk. But Ghostface 99ing a survivor is much different than Trickster hitting 7 knives. For one, Ghostface can't stalk you up to 100%, and then suddenly you're injured. Instead, you're exposed for a period of time -- which you can outrun, and if you do -- Ghostface has to stalk you all over again. It's a pretty big difference that people seem to be missing.

There's definitely problems with Trickster not getting much reward for effort. If you hit 7 knives, and they escape -- you get nothing. And that's too punishing. But it's too punishing on the other side if you get hit by 7 knives, and you have no way of removing that.

Survivors should be able to remove knives from them. Something like 6 seconds to remove one knife, then if you continue 'mending', you remove one knife every 2 seconds (meaning removing 7 knives takes 18 seconds on the part of the survivor UNLESS they stop in the middle, in which case it could take up to 42 seconds if they remove them individually) If you have another survivor do the job, it takes 4 seconds to remove the first knife, and then 1.3 seconds per additional knife removed (Having another survivor remove 7 knives takes 11.8 seconds) That way he gets a reward for hits, even if the survivor escapes. (Which is time) Or the survivor leaves the knives in, and is easier to down.

  • No. DBD is great in part because you can't defeat the killer. You can only escape... temporarily.

  • We'll make it is good, but then you kind of have to rush for the unhook against other people. It's why I started to prefer Botany Knowledge for a healing build. Slightly less effective, but always active. ANd if the killer is hot on your heels, you can still get nice heals off.

Think of this in the same way you see Pyramid Head's judgment:

1/2/3 times a match you can send a survivor straight to the basement from wherever you are. That would be quite a buff in my eyes. Quick and simple.

Every single Trapper, Hag, Huntress and Leatherface would run this perk. every one of them.

  • I had lag in one game today, but three of us were on Playstation and I suspect one person may have been lag switching. (The survivors thought so too. I was the killer). We kept rubberbanding, even though none of us had TERRIBLE ping. I mean I've played with people with 1000 ping before. This was worse. My ping ftr is 33ish.

  • Hey, when I say NOED should be base-kit, activate when the first gen pops, and they should add 5 more totems including an invisible totem that can't be seen or cleansed and that they should give Spirit a machine gun and Freddy should be able to teleport as much as he wants and that they should give Nurse infinite blinks and Hag should have infinite traps and that Oni should have blood bags laying around you can collect so he can have as much power as needed, and that if you don't cleanse against Plague then you should just die immediately once the infection gets too bad, and that RBT's should kill the survivor if they pick the wrong box, and that Trapper's traps should count as a hook state instead of injuring the survivor, and that Wraith should be able to hit while invisible and not be seen from 2 meters, and that maps should be made half the size they are, and survivors should have to complete all 7 generators, and exit gates should take 6 minutes to open I'm just trying to make the game scarier. I'm not being biased.

  • Throw on a midwich offering. It's a good map for Trickster.

@Yords I tried giving a shiny new flashlight to a teammate recently, and they just stood there, like, 'What do you want me to do with this?'

    #Feelsbadsometimes

Don't give me a flashlight. I can't blind the killer for the life of me. I've been playing this game a year, and all I can ever get are pallet blinds once in a while. If I find a flashlight in a chest, I'll see if a teammate wants it.

  • I wish my mistakes were entertaining! They're just bad. Running loops bad. Not breaking pallets when I should. Lack of awareness of generators. Swinging way too early. Bumping into stuff. Losing survivors (then lucking into finding them by mistake).

  • I'd be too embarrassed to even post my gameplay. Even my good matches I do dumb things.

  • Killers (except me apparently) can't get stunned atm. The stun is ignored if they lunge I think.

  • Aya Brea and Mitochodnria Eve.

    Darth Vader as Killer.

    Buffing Pig.

Love it, very well thought out with a lot of utility, and I agree that exhaustion perks on everyone is ideal. No smash hit over balanced landing though? I feel like smash hit has a bit more value and opportunities to be used

I feel that by the time the scout gets chased, a lot of pallets will have been used. I also don't think it's terribly reliable. Hard to say atm since it's bugged.

  • As Survivor:

Not counting the time I played for 2 minutes and spent a minute in a locker against a Huntress....

My first match was on Lery's. It was against a Spirit. This was old Lerys, not new Lerys by the way. I was Dwight, and I think the perk I brought with me was Prove Thyself. Or maybe I didn't have a perk at all. I got half a gen done, and was proud of myself. I spent most of the match completely lost, having no idea where I was going. I got to the exit gate and didn't realize there was a second one. The gate didn't get opened, and I died on my first hook.

    As Killer:

I played Spirit on Red Forest and had no idea what I was doing. I spent the entire match trying to phase through a wall. I don't think I got a single hit.

  • Maybe something like this:

Survivor #1: The Runner / Gen Jockey

Perks: Dead Hard, Iron Will, Decisive Strike, Soul Guard

    Item: Med-Kit

Survivor #2: The Scout / Totem Cleanser / Gen Jockey

Perks: Object of Obsession, Balanced Landing, Prove Thyself, Detectives Hunch

    Item: Map

    Survivor #3: The Medic

Perks: We're Gonna Live Forever, Borrowed Time, Lithe, Deliverance

    Item: Flashlight

    Survivor #4: The Second Runner

Perks: Sprint Burst, Adrenaline, Unbreakable, Camaraderie

    Item: Toolbox

(Keys should not be allowed in a tournament tbh)

Really hard to say, though. I mean it depends a lot on the players on your team. What perks they are comfortable with, used to. Each should have an Exhaustion Perk. Primary Runner gets Dead Hard, secondary gets Sprint Burst so they can focus more on gens. The Medic gets Lithe, which is a little less reliable. Ideally the Scout is never in chase, so they end up with the 3rd exhaustion perk. WGLF and Soul Guard and Unbreakable help prevent slugging all around.

  • What Pig needs is simple -- help in chase. Her stealth is too slow, and her dash is too unreliable. Fix those, and she moves up a couple of tiers.

  • Maybe if you don't prestige characters and don't get every perk. But it's a pretty big hassle. I think they could/should reduce it.

  • I've seen it happen a few times. Had a Meg stay behind when I had a miserable game as Spirit. I just went in the basement and stared at the wall phasing. Meg came down, and I hit her to get her to leave, but she just stayed.

It's pretty rare, though. I've offered myself to be hooked when killers have had a miserable game. They usually refuse though. (Or they leave me slugged, which isn't fun btw. At least hook me.) I find it's less likely for survivors to show mercy because only solos would probably do that, and solos are rarely in position to give mercy because they're at the mercy of their teammates who are self-caring in a corner with sloppy butcher.

  • Sounds a bit too complicated IMO. The risk/reward is a neat idea, but nobody would use it because the risk is too high, even more so if 2 people are running it. (It'd be super miserable in solo queue on console.)

I respect that but there are killers that tunnel when there are 4 or 5 genes left and that's what makes me mad

Sure, I get that. Just remember: They may have just had a very rough match. While they shouldn't take it out on someone unrelated, and I don't think it's healthy to do that, they probably just don't want to experience that again. So they figure if they take someone out of the game early: Hey, they stand a better chance at dealing with the generators. Personally, I try my best not to tunnel. In some cases, your teammates can do a better job of getting the killer's attention. I'll GLADLY go for the rescuer over the rescuee. But I have to see them.

It’s funny you say this because every time I play with cross play on my ping is the lowest in the lobby while everyone else is sitting on 100+ ( ps4) I find everyone else that isn’t ps4 or 5 is just lagggyyyy

    My ping is 35.

I never see pings that low on other players. Like ever.

  • I've had weird lag spikes today too. Just one match, though. My ping is 35 btw. Like better than most people's. Usually I see people with pings in the 60's.

  • I only tunnel when I absolutely have to. Like if 4 gens get done on a big map like Ormond by the time I get my first down, what am I supposed to do?

  • It'd be a very dark world. I'd certainly play a lot less DBD if I couldn't play with my friends. It'd be a pretty bad concept for an online multiplayer game. Would probably move on to Among Us or something.

  • @Seoul said:

Hmm it runs fine for me on PS5 🤔

Ditto. Runs really well for me. Lovin' it.

  • It tells you that survivor queue times have been really fast lately.

  • They had a key, so no. There's nothing you could do.

I had an INCREDIBLE three gen yesterday. Got two people killed, still had my Ruin up (and trapped!), and they happened to find a key in a chest and the last two escaped. It's stupid. A 3-man escape through a key is one of the dumbest things imo and could be changed if the hatch just spawned ONE generator later. (Sadly it wouldn't change MY outcome yesterday. But making Keys less common in chests would help there)

  • Survivors should have to perform an action to remove laceration. Kind of like mending, only not required.

  • She made the trickster pay pretty well. He has to hit 8 knives to INJURE a survivor. So who's really got the last laugh?

  • Pig isn't so much a stealth killer as she is an M1 Killer with a stealth mechanic.

    General Tips:

    • Getting your first down is more important with Pig than it is with any other killers, because that's when she can actually use her power.
    • Don't spend too much time crouched. She moves slower than Nurse while crouched, which -- if you've ever played Nurse -- should tell you why that's a bad idea.
    • Practice the Ambush attack and get a good feel for it. I'd recommend watching Scorpionz to get an idea of what you can do with it. But usually you're just going to crouch at a pallet, fake one way, then go the other to catch the survivor off guard. Or commit to your first direction. Survivors CAN counter this by leaving the loop, but you can also use this to just get those survivors to leave a loop.
    • Video Tape and Combat Straps are probably her most reliable add-ons. They're yellow and brown respectively, so they aren't hard to come by. Tampered Timer is very good, but a little less reliable. Any of the add-ons that add time to searching boxes, or add RBT's or Boxes are good (and are better when combined) but they're also not reliable (Except Bag and Crate of Gears, which are fairly reliable). Pig's traps don't work like any other trap in the game. The box that will unlock the Survivor's head is determined at the start of the game. Many of the skill check add-ons are a detriment to her.
    • Keep in mind that skill check perks and blindness perks do NOT affect Pig's boxes.
    • You can mostly safely ignore survivors with Traps on their heads. If you catch them on a box, you can chase them off. But don't commit to a medium length chase with them, because that's a waste of a trap. If you can down them fast--great! Go for it. But if you can't, then I wouldn't recommend it because time could be better spent. Punish them if they decide to stay at the box, or don't run away.
    • I'd recommend using your traps ASAP. You don't want to end up in a chase with 1 gen left, and have 1 trap--then the last gen pops before you can put it on. At that point it's useless.
    • Save the Best for Last is amazing on her, because her ambush attack does not count as a basic attack. Of course, that means you also can't use it for an insta-down.
    • Hex Perks are pretty good on her, because she creates a secondary objective unlike any other killer. Of course, they're still just as vulnerable as other hex perks for other killers with limited mobility, but Devour Hope can be amazing on her if it's hidden fairly well. By the time you get your third stack and they're made aware of it, only one or two of them will even be able to search for it because the others will be busy getting their traps off their heads.
    • If it's down to one survivor, they may want to Boop your Snoot. Some Pigs let them go. Others murder them. It's up to you which Pig you want to be.
  • If survivors rush Gens, they don't get many BP's either. In fact that's why AFK killers are so annoying. You miss out an opportunity for an entire category of points. I'll never understand players who's goal is to win as fast as possible so they can get back to the lobby. It's why I never bring BNP's or Toolboxes unless I've got a rift challenge (in which case I bring a brown toolbox and use it up immediately)

  • I've only run into one obvious hacker in my time in DBD fortunately. (There are fringe cases, I think might have been hacking. But it's hard to be sure and I don't want to accuse anyone without being sure.) It was another survivor though, and they popped a gen maybe 5 seconds into the match. (Talk about Gen Rush!)

  • It's not deync. It's something entirely new with pallets.

  • If a survivor DC's everyone should just get a safety pip and max BP (unless you're part of an SWF with a survivor who DC's). Same goes for if a killer DC's.

  • She's a problem. Without her, I think the game could be made a lot more balanced for pretty much every other killer. She ignores pretty much all of a survivor's tools in a way no other killer can. Which makes balancing the game a lot more difficult. A great nurse takes a LOT of skill, so it's not like she's a free and easy win like say... Freddy. Not just anyone can pick her up and do well with her. It takes a lot of practice. Which is why I'd be hesitant to say she's a problem we should do something about. But at the same time, the damage she does to game balance is just... kinda sad really. Nurse is the one killer I feel holding some perks from being buffed because with her in the game they can't be made stronger without being OP. Starstruck will probably end up getting nerfed because of her, even though on most killers it's not nearly as strong.

  • Survivor as Killer: Ash (CHAINSAW ARM. What Now?)

Killer as Survivor: Spirit, Pig or Trickster.

  • Once you reach Green Ranks, you can match up against pretty much anyone. When you face off against SWF like that, you have to set yourself a goal other than "Get a Kill". Learn from a chase. Try to figure out your mistakes. If you just give up, you're missing out on experience. Does it suck? Yeah, it kinda does. But it's just matchmaking for you. It's all a matter of who's available to play in a match in a given region. Otherwise you'd have players with ridiculous ping. (I had a match the other night with someone with 1000 ping! They were teleporting all over the place. They weren't lag switching, because I downed them super easy)

Best thing you can do is honestly lower your expectations. Players with more experience and advantages like comms are going to naturally do better than you.

  • my-image (8).png

    My tier list.

  • I played a really good Trickster today. At least I think he was good. Dude was hitting shots like crazy when he had an open area. Even with the Iri Add-on that reduces your first hit to 50%, he could down me in INSANE time with borrowed time. Downed me and the person who unhooked me. Despite being really good, I still ran him for 3 gens and we got a 3-man escape. If that guy was playing Huntress, I feel like it'd have been a 4K easily.

  • When I play Freddy, I try to restore his image. I usually let the last person go, and if there's a DC I'll farm with the rest.

When I play against Freddy, I sometimes see why he's so hated to play against. Especially when they use slow-down add-ons and Ruin, Undying, and Thanataphobia, and just everything to make gens go very slow and impossible to complete.

  • Trickster should be left a 110 killer. He's a medium range killer like Deathslinger. His only problem is the amount of work necessary for such little reward. He can't get any hits that any other killer wouldn't be able to get in most circumstances. There's nothing about him that's 'special'.

    Here's the changes I'd make:

    • Trickster now has 3 Kinds of Blades. They are switched between similar to Clown's bottles. His blade count is shared among all three types. Type 1: Ricochet Blades, which bounce off of things. Type 2: Exploding Blades. Like the addon that makes them explode. And Type 3: Piercing Blades, which go through multiple survivors (similar to another add-on)
    • Reduce the number of blades to damage from 8 to 6.
    • Laceration doesn't decrease unless a survivor PATCHES UP. PATCHING UP takes 10 seconds for one knife, +3 seconds for each additional level of laceration. (So at 5 laceration, it takes 22 seconds). OR it can be done by another survivor, which takes 6 seconds, then +2 seconds for each additional level of laceration (up to 14 seconds)
    • Hitting with M1 will reset the laceration meter still
    • Main Event no longer has a cooldown where you can't throw any knives.
    • Main Event, once the meter is filled, the meter stays filled until you activate it.
    • No slowdown while throwing knives.
    • Reduce recoil
    • Trickster has a NEW ABILITY: SETTING THE STAGE. Trickster can place down "Stages" on the map. Up to 3 at a time. Then when pressing the alternate ability button, The Trickster will throw down a smoke bomb, and appear at one of his stages (He can choose which). Survivors can destroy stages, and it takes them 14 seconds to destroy one. He then gets them back to place at his choosing.

  • Game isn't dying at all. There's still plenty of players. And no competition so far has been able to dethrone it. For all of its flaws, DBD has something any upcoming games will never have: A 5 year advance of time and money commitment from a dedicated player base.
