But killers tunnle camp and slug because of bt dh and ds and they slug to avoid the ds it’s a loop once survivors stop using the same perks killers will change

lol when there's no obsession many killers will immediately tunnel you off the hook. I say that as someone who doesn't run DS.

  • What killer do you play? What perks do you run? These are probably more important than they should be.

  • If you're not good, what does that make them exactly for losing to you? I've always found it weird people who rag on their opponents skill level. If you win, and call them trash, so what? That just means you didn't accomplish anything because you only beat 'trash'. If you lose, and call them trash, then you have to be super trash or something. It's poor sportsmanship and kind of dumb imo.

  • Yeah, the Hag trap before you know you're facing a Hag. Afterwards it's like "oh" but that first one?

  • Most annoying? Victor. No chase points from being chased. Can barely see him. Good ones will leave you on the ground for four minutes. Bad ones will camp the basement.

Imagine trying to have fun with MOM but dbd said "Deathslinger".

I feel like that's how MOST games of DBD go. Somehow they know what you're trying to do, and will make it hard as possible.

Me, playing a normal game: "Here's some Rank 20 survivors!"

Me, trying to get Adept Legion: "Here's some high rank survivors!"

Me, trying to use 4 med kits: "Oh, did you say you wanted to play against PLAGUE"

  • If they do an RE chapter, Jill better be the survivor.

  • Trapper - Just let him carry two traps at base. Simple fix.

Wraith - Increase his movement speed while uncloaking to 1.8 m/s. Somewhere in between where it was, and where it is now. I think he'd be fine with that.

Hillbilly - Slightly increase his turn rate.

    Nurse - Fix the Bugs.

Myers - 110% movement speed in Tier 1, and breaks pallets faster and is stunned for less time. Making Tier 1 a resource instead of a hinderance.

Hag - When a survivor is unhooked, all traps within 8 meters of the hook get disabled.

Doctor - Is fine as is.

Huntress - Iri Head now requires shots to be 15 meters or more.

Leatherface - Is fine as is.

Freddy - Can't deny BT simply by hitting a survivor and making them fall asleep.

Pig - Increase crouched movement speed to 100%

Clown - Survivors hit by Tonic are 'drunk' until they sober up. Survivors must spend 9 seconds sobering up, or their gen repair speed will be reduced by 25%

Spirit - Grass rustles/moves when she's phase walking. Just something an observant survivor can pay attention to for counterplay.

Legion - Feral Frenzy Fatigue decreases by .25 seconds per successful hit up to a maximum 1.5 seconds

    Plague - Fine as is.

Ghostface - Reduce his power cooldown from 30 seconds to 25 seconds. Reduce Chewed Pen's effect to 6 seconds instead of 8.

Demogorgon - Rat Tail and Rat Liver are base kit.

Oni - Perfect the way he is.

Deathslinger - No Clue if I'm being honest.

Pyramid Head - I think he's fine the way he is.

Blight - Increase his turn rate on console.

Twins - Shorten the time to switch between Victor and Charlotte.

Trickster - Knives take fewer hits to damage.

  • I got the Legion Adept last night. So they appear to still be working. You didn't run any other perks, right? Did you double pip?

  • I got my Legion adept, though I got decent survivors even though I'm not a good Legion. (I also got the challenge where you have to use those three perks and leave no more than 1 survivor alive 60k bp!) Meanwhile when I played Trapper and Doctor (who I'm better at) I got survivors that barely knew what they were doing. (I wasn't going for my adept in those cases.)

  • People really don't think their ideas through. These are all bad ideas. BT works the way it does, because otherwise it doesn't work at all.

"Protection HIt = It doesn't count!" - So it doesn't work against Plague at all then. Or Legion in many cases. (It already barely works against Leatherface).

"Survivor Loses Collision!" - So now killers can hit the unhooked person with impunity, meaning that Borrowed Time OR DS are required perks.

Borrowed Time is fine the way it is. It gives survivors a way of getting away from the hook, during which time they are most vulnerable. Yes, they can body block. That's what a good teammate does. And after 15 seconds of endurance, they have to mend for 12 seconds. It's a tradeoff that works just fine.

  • Yes. Always. See no reason to turn it off.

  • It's hard for me to say if it's working or not.

I'm a terrible Huntress, so when I got brown rank survivors who hid in lockers I wasn't surprised.

I'm decent with Trapper and Doctor, though, and I didn't get any better survivors in those games. Survivors who missed skill checks.

I'm not good with Legion on the other hand, and barely play him/her, but ended up getting higher ranking survivors who were much better. (Though maybe it's hard to judge, since I was only using his teachable perks and they're not that great and have no slowdown)

Matchmaking all around seems to take longer too. I know Dowsey had a killer queue that lasted over an hour.

  • Clowns bottles are stronger than Freddy's snares by a good bit. Freddy is simply better because he has Map Mobility.

  • I actually wish they'd do more live tests. Like maybe one day they do a test where add-ons are disabled (both for Survivor and Killer) just to see how that changes things for killers, since most people play with add-ons.

  • I've been getting mostly Brown Ranks as killer. Played a Huntress game, and it was expected cause I'm a garbage Huntress. PLayed a Doctor game, and it wasn't expected because I'm a semi-decent Doctor. I mean the survivors probably ended up with a decent game, cause one guy DC'd and I just farmed with them. Maybe I'm just really bad with Killer. Or maybe my mercy has lowered my MMR too much.

  • I'm a Console Killer.

How are they being toxic exactly? I mean their goal is to win, and if they don't go at it their hardest, they probably end up getting teabagged at the end at the exit gates. Killers have to play a little ruthlessly because survivors definitely will.

Also, I'm pretty nice as a killer. I often give hatch when I think it's deserved. And I'll try to give survivors a chance to come back and extend the game unless they're being toxic.

Exactly, i remember that one lobby with 3 p3 claudettes accusing me of tunneling, like #########.

I always change outfits if someone else has the same outfit as me, unless it's to be funny.

  • No, this one's fine. I managed to get it on second try. Just drop a pallet, reset it, get the killer to come to you, stun them. Bam. Did it twice in one trial, even. Helps if you're facing a Blight. Easiest killer to stun IMO.

  • Honestly this was much easier than I was expecting it to be. I thought they'd have to land on their feet. Saboing definitely works (though it WILL make the killer very mad)

  • Apparently having the killer drop them works too, because I just got it by saboing the hook. (The killer was NOT happy, and he camped me with NOED in the end) but I got the challenge done. The killer dropped the survivor after I sabo'd.

  • If your ban is currently at 24 hours, I'd say wait about 10 days before trying again. That should reset your timer.

I had this problem last year. I'd play several games just fine -- then my internet would go out for no apparent reason. I had crappy internet, and it made it very difficult to play the game (though I enjoyed it immensely.) Had a streak of bad luck, which included 2 DC's caused by the server. So I quit playing DBD for a little bit, and instead played something else. (This was back when I played on Switch, which had MAJOR issues when it came to crashes) During that time I learned that after a while, it takes longer for the penalties to decay. Luckily for me, I got much better internet services, and no longer have to play on my phone's internet. If you DC once or twice in a day, you should probably take a break for a day or two before resuming play. (Or play on your second account)

    • 1 - Otzdarva - He's a pretty chill guy most of the time (at least when he's not trying to 50 streak Clown) and plays a variety of killers and even plays some Survivor. He's usually pretty fair about everything and is just overall pretty likable most of the time. His viewers really need to chill though when he loses.
    • 2 - Dowsey - He's pretty underrated IMO. Seems like a very chill guy. I've enjoyed a bit of his content. His hardcore survivor series is interesting. I've learned a bit from watching him.
    • 3 - Scott Jund - He has some pretty good insight, and usually tries thinking things through both sides.
    • 4 - Tru3Ta1ent - He's basically the Streamer Equivalent of the Forum Player. Very quick to assume that Survivors are Toxic. Complains a bit too much for my taste, though he seems like a pretty nice guy otherwise.
    • 5 - The King - Never really watched him outside of I think one of the DBD Streamers
    • 6 - Paulie Esther - Never watched him at all. So I can't really rank him, but I'd feel bad if I put someone I watched below someone I've never watched.
  • He's not a worse Huntress at all. He can hit through gaps Huntress couldn't dream of. He has no Lullaby which warns Survivors that he's in the area. Put Monitor and Abuse on him, and you'll almost never hear him coming. He can also get more use out of NoED than Huntress, and can pull survivors back from the exit gates.

  • I don't think they should be base kit. Just reduce the BP costs of everything by 2000. 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, and 5000 BP for items. That'd roughly have the same effect

  • When you get used to something, it's not scary anymore. It's why living in an actual haunted house wouldn't actually be scary. First few nights? Absolutely terrifying. But eventually you'd get used to the ghosts, no matter how evil they were, as long as they weren't actively trying to murder you.

One night, you hear a noise down in the basement. Ooh! Spooky ghost with bloody clothes and everything. He's banging on those pipes, and you feel a chill run down your spine. You can't touch him, and he can't touch you. All he does is bang on those dang pipes and scream. By night 27 you're yelling at Frank to keep it down while you're playing Dead by Daylight, cause you're playing Spirit and need to hear the survivors. "Dammit, Frank. I told you. I'm not playing Legion. He's C tier at best."

  • I think the answer is to make survivors who get unhooked temporarily gain a speed boost, but then receive a penalty for working on generators.

So like... 50% gen penalty for 60 seconds, 7% movement speed bonus for the same duration. Then speed up generators slightly for every dead survivor. I'm not sure what the numbers should be for that, but it'd decrease the reward for getting one survivor out of the game while at the same time rewarding the killer for hooking a survivor and not camping the hook.

  • my-image (4).png

Doc, Pig and Freddy are easy for me. I'll have rough games, mind you. But usually I can put up a decent fight.

Hag is a mixed bag. I'll have good games and bad ones. Legion I'll have a rough game once in a while. Trapper I've gotten much better with. And Myers is weak, but easy to use.

Demogorgon I cannot shred for anything. Ghostface is hard to stalk with. Can't get the hang of Leatherfaces chainsaw. Oni's Demon Dash is difficult for me, but I can get the one hits now and then. Plague I have no aim. Spirit I'm not used to and always swing too early because I can't figure out her range. Wraith I'm not sure how to use properly. Pyramid head would move up a tier if I played him a little more I think.

Clown - I don't know how to aim bottles at all. Billy - His chainsaw is even harder than Bubba's. Huntress - Can't aim Hatchets either. Nurse - If I get one or two hooks, I'm doing well as Nurse. For me anyway. Deathslinger - Can't aim. Blight - His controls is hard on console. Twins - Have only played them like twice, and couldn't figure out how to aim victor. Aiming is DEFINITELY a problem for me.

  • I'm still curious as to how they can even determine 'skill' in a game like DBD.

Is a Survivor in a SWF who bring in four BNP's, who throws every pallet immediately and escapes every game better than the survivor who lasts 3 minutes in a chase, throwing only one unsafe pallet but who dies because they get camped by the killer with NoED?

Is a killer with 8 hooks (but 0 deaths) and no perks, no add-ons, and playing a low tier killer (Like Pig or Trapper) on a map like Red Forest worse than a killer with 4 hooks, 4 kills, NoED, Save The Best For Last, Stridor, and Pop Goes The Weasel on Spirit with the best add-ons on Shelter Woods where no pallets spawned on half the map?

  • @MadLordJack said:

Snip snap, the trapper's back! And now your whole team's six feet under!

Seriously though, unless the trapper is carrying 3 traps at the time of the hooking, it's pretty safe to go for the rescue. I'm fairly certain that each basement needs at least 3 traps to lock down. One open pathway is all it takes to make every bit of effort worthless.

A good trapper going for basement has the basement trapped before they ever hook anyone there, or trap after someone goes for the save (When they think it's safe coming back).

  • I ran into a team of Dwelfs once. At first, I was like "OH GOD THIS IS GOING TO BE MISERABLE" because I spent the first two minutes patrolling generators. Found nobody. Eventually they made some noise, and we went into the basement, where they let me take turns hooking them. One of them even wanted a party hat, and was definitely in a party mood, even though I wanted him to make it. Nice fella's.

  • I think a new perk should be Old Ruin, but it only lasts the first 40/50/60 seconds of the trial. Slows gens down for the early game, but then does nothing the rest of the trial. Giving Killers a little more time to build pressure early.

  • I'll try for a basement save unless the killer is sticking around the area too close. Had a couple teammates RAGE at me for being the worst teammate ever for not going for a basement unhook against a Freddy who was camping the basement. (By which I mean he was staying in the basement on the stairs). It's their own fault for all 3 of them getting into the basement to begin with TBH. It's pretty clear he was going for basement plays too.

  • Also survivors can use Repressed Alliance to counter Pop. Wait a couple seconds after the hook, then block the generator so the killer can't kick it. Boom. Countered.

  • You realize BBQ only shows generators that are at least 40 meters away from the hook, right? That means they go away from the hook, allowing survivors to unhook. Would you rather they just proxy camp to create pressure? This promote healthy gameplay. Gen tapping isn't 'playing well' either. Nor is your teammates getting hooked. If anything Pop + BBQ rewards good play by the killer. They get to see where survivors are for downing a survivor.

Thrilling + Pop is another good combo, and it works on nearby gens, which means you aren't risking the gen popping before you get there, and can defend the hook.

  • There just needs to be a perk that blinds killers if they're in a certain radius of a hooked survivor for about 4 seconds. (Blind, not stun). It'd be activatable and with some kind of cooldown.

Though I will say there's something satisfying about coordinating an unhook with another teammate in solo queue, and both getting two unhooks.

The problem is that we don't know what they are planning. Almost ever.

How will the new MMR work? What is the goal for game balance? What is being done to address balance issues? Why are perks that are useless or nearly useless not being improved, and perks that are considered problematic being targeted or not targeted? What killers are on the docket for a re-work/add-on pass? What do they consider when re-working a map? Are new mechanics in the pipeline? What QoL fixes are on the horizon?

Apparently the answer is you'll find out when we put them in the game, or you don't need to know. That's not how you interact with your community. We know they're doing work, we can see changes coming out - but they need to tell the community what the goals are, what is upcoming, and why they are making changes. The vague answers or just saying yes and no to things on Q&A streams don't help.

They don't share things with us because as soon as they decide something different, everyone will inevitably complain. Take the planned OoO change. If it's ANYTHING different than that, you can bet the community will be like "The devs said..." and leave out that they explicitly said "This may not be the final version."

  • Rewind sounds like it wouldn't be very useful. As long as survivors pay attention to the status bar, they just quit working on those gens for 14 seconds. Basically Thrilling Tremors.

Try to Find me sounds very unfun for killers. Especially with only a 60 second cooldown.

Interesting ideas, but just not sure they'd work.

  • I mean imagine you're streaming and you're playing killer and the survivor is told by their friends "Hey, you're in ____'s lobby!" and they use the stream to avoid you. It's like free OoO.

  • Asymmetrical Games are much harder to change than Symmetrical games. People keep saying "Oh, BHVR has no competition so they don't need to fix the game!" Yet, in the past year we've received MAJOR graphical updates to maps at absolutely no cost to us. The Devs have a plan. Maybe they don't share it with us as much as we'd like. But they do have one. They make small changes here and there, which gives us time to adapt to smaller changes rather than a bunch of changes all at once. I know I'm excited for what they'll have for us for the 5th anniversary. Last year they started Map Changes. Now those are almost finished. Who knows what's coming next?

  • Ruin/Undying was an oppressive combo tbh. The new undying is nice, because it also protects token-based totems (like Devour Hope and Huntress Lullaby).

  • I saw a Claudette in one game self-caring with Sloppy Butcher. I offered to heal her, but she wouldn't stop self-caring. I had Botany Knowledge, and me and Feng healed Ace, and then myself in the time that it took her to heal.

Though in the last game I wasn't super efficient. I had a med-kit and Botany Knowledge, and could've healed myself faster but let an Adam heal me up. But I figured I'd let him do it anyway. I already did my 3-skill check rift challenge for Claudette.

  • For someone with 6000 hours in the game, you'd think he'd know the game better than that. Like yeah, just running is sometimes the survivors best option. There are dead zones in the game, and it's up to the killer to try to cut you off. He's literally just taking the same pathing as the survivor, and that's something you shouldn't do as killer. And most of the M1 killers have things to mitigate it. Pig's the only one who doesn't, but she has a slowdown power unlike any other.

  • I'd like to see Nea as a Survivor instead of Killer.

    But in all seriousness:

New Killer: Ash Williams. Machete and a Chainsaw. Plus it'd be pretty awesome.

New Survivor: Rin Yamaoka. C'mon. You know you want it. I'd also accept Amanda Young. Then you could safely boop the snoot.

  • I don't think it's that the Devs don't listen. It's just that they're very slow to make changes. Hopefully this isn't the final version of Trickster, but I honestly don't think it will be. He may get another buff in a week or two after people start playing around with him in normal matches. (Honestly the PTB's biggest flaw is probably that you almost never have regular matches.)

  • Disagree on Hag, she's way better than A Tier. A great Hag can destroy teams pretty hard. I'd put her in S tier.

I don't think Demogorgon is B tier. He needs some slight buffs that make some of his add-ons basekit.

I think Leatherface is just straight up better than Billy now.

Legion isn't bottom tier, though they're not far from it either. Nobody's better at getting everyone injured. Healing against Legion is usually useless.

I think Pig is bottom tier. She's probably the second weakest killer in the game, next to Trickster. I think most people just play against Pig all wrong. Extending the chase against her to prevent going down can be devastating to a Pig, because her power relies on the gens NOT being done. And she's not hard to extend chase against. Her Ambush attack is just so easy to dodge most of the time. She doesn't have much of a chase power at all, and her stealth is slower than Nurse. She, Trapper, and Trickster are alone in that bottom tier. (I have no idea why the Devs haven't just let Trapper carry two traps at base yet. Like.. that can't be hard to do, since there's already an add-on that does just that. Same goes for Demo's needed buffs. Just a few number tweaks that'd make them SO much more playable)

  • The problem is that it could be used to sandbag survivors. Like imagine you have DS, and you're crawling out the exit gate and the game's almost over. A survivor picks you up, carries you too far to crawl the rest of the way, teabags, and leaves just before time expires.

  • If it can tank a chainsaw, it can tank a hex effect.

  • Aya Brea/Eve

    Jill Valentine

    Rachel / Samara

    Juliet Starling / Swan

    Monika

    Jason Vorhees obviously

    A Succubus

    A Vampire

    A Werewolf

  • Nah, it should be a hex since the counter play there would just be to hide in the end game.

I think it should instead only expose those who've been hooked at least once. That way it doesn't reward bad play, but rewards good play instead.

  • @MysticalMagic92 said:

How often do you face a high-level Nurse though? Of course, you're going to get destroyed every once in a while. Sometimes there's nothing you can do. However, good Nurses are quite rare, so it shouldn't happen often. If you encounter good nurses often, then yes, that's just unfortunate matchmaking.

I faced two in a row one night. We had a Rank 17 with us. You can imagine that was fun. Not much you can do against a Nurse who's mastered it. But man does it suck running into two in a row.

1 … 17 18 19 20 21 … 54
