Okay, I don't think MMR is on. After last night. Usually when I play Pig, I get pretty tough players. But then I got some very clear newbies (and not just some guys who deranked to have an easier time) because one of them hid in a locker like most of the match. There was one red rank among them, and they got a single gen done. I only used one RBT because I felt bad for them. Would've let them all go after two hooking them, if I hadn't been doing an old rift challenge that required me to use unnerving presence. I think Matchmaking at this point is just really bad, and we get confirmation bias. I've had games in the past where it's my first time playing a killer, and I do much better than I'd expect.
-
It'd encourage tunneling if anything.
-
Plague. I never get teammates who refuse to cleanse so I wind up broken for 99% of the trial, against infinite machine gun huntress.
-
It feels like it's on. Most of the time I face competent/good survivors (though I'm about a slightly below average killer), but when I played Nurse, they were all newbies. And I'm a baby nurse. At least it helped get the archive challenges for nurse.
-
Slugging for the 4k is fine if you have an idea of where the last survivor is. Like you saw the hatch, and know they'll be waiting there to get it. Or you literally just saw them.
Slugging for the 4k and then going on a 4 minute search + chase isn't really fun for the guy on the ground, though.
Oddly had a killer once slug me to give me the hatch instead of the other guy.
-
Assuming Fair Play? All of them. I respect anyone who plays fair.
-
Helpful Tips:
#1. Watch other survivors. See what works for them, and what doesn't. You can spectate after losing, watch streamers, or even just play killer. I remember starting out, I preferred playing Killer because you don't get camped/tunneled out of the game. It's good practice.
#2. Play with a more experienced friend. For me, when I started out -- playing by myself was a miserable experience. It started out a little fun, but then became 'Eh, I've got better things to play.' Then my cousin started playing (She had a lot more experience than I did), and she'd run perks like Borrowed Time. Eventually my game lasted longer, and now I'm a pretty good player.
#3. Run Decisive Strike. Halloween Chapter is definitely worth the price. This was the first DLC I bought. You might also find it in the shrine from time to time. But DS will make you last a little longer.
#4. Run an Exhaustion Perk. Sprint Burst, Dead Hard or Lithe. Maybe Balanced Landing, but that's a bit harder to get to proc just right. These perks will make your chases last longer. Though I'd say quit running them once you get the hang of the game, because I think you get a lot better if you spend enough time running without them once you don't need to rely on them.
#5. Keep an eye on the killer when you're on the hook. Go in the direction AWAY from him when you come off the hook. Breakdown is a good perk that can assure you that you won't run into the killer, because it shows you the aura.

Pretty sure the Devs have left an open invitation for him, so as soon as the lawsuits get settled in 2035 we'll be good to go! Dead By Daylight Chapter 74: Camp Crystal Lake. I hear they're also finally letting Trapper carry two traps at once at base!
-
I think they just need to fix her emblems tbh.
-
I like most of them. Hoping we get Blackwater and Coldwind next. Then I guess that'd just leave haddonfield and Red Forest.
-
They should at least say "__ Player gave you props". That way those of us on console could at least be like "Hey, good game!" to those on other consoles/pc.
-
Do it as killer. Throw the game to get the glyph if you have to. I got lucky once to spawn 10 meters from a glyph.

It does.
If old Ruin was nerfed due to its popularity, it's inconsistent nature, it's passive pressure and it's punishment of new players then DH should be nerfed.
It is in almost every Red Rank game.
Most Killers will passively respect DH even if you don't have it, just because of the threat of it existing.
It sometimes doesn't work, other times it extends chases for another minute.
It's practically a "I win" button against new Killers.
Old Ruin was nerfed because it rewarded the killer for just being on the map. Dead Hard doesn't reward survivors merely for being on the map. And even then new Ruin is actually stronger if you're actually pressuring generators.
-
Deja Vu is a good solo perk. It needs a slight buff, but Deja Vu will make it harder to get three gen'd. Would be nice if it showed the aura of the gens to your teammates too. That way they'd kind of know what you're doing.
-
I'm tired of original male killers. Of the last 11 killers, only one has been purely female (Legion and twins are split) -- Plague. The female killers tend to be the better killers, too.
-
I think it's fine as long as they leave Dead Hard alone. If you nerf Dead Hard, then I think Devour should be nerfed. It's more fair than NoED though.
-
If I don't have BT, I won't go for the save if it's not safe. That's the difference.

You could find survivors who would be willing to let you get it. Just be non aggressive at the beginning and they may let you
Woo! Finally got the hits as Nurse. Got put against a bunch of newbies. It was a struggle, but I managed to get more than 2 hits on chain blinks. (Though I keep blinking when I only have one charge, which screwed me up a lot)

Survivor: Spine Chill. My eyes miss things way too often. Spine Chill is a life saver.
Killer: Depends on the killer, but most M1 Killers it's Save the Best for Last. The Cooldown on hits is just SO BAD. On M2 Killers, it's probably Whispers. Like I said, my eyes miss things way too often. Whispers is a life taker.
-
I swear this game bases matchmaking on player behavior and making it impossible to complete the challenge.
-Heal 10 survivor health States
Game: Have an AFK wraith! Also a Huntress who can't hit anyone.
-Pick up 2 survivors from dying
Game: Here are some killers who NEVER SLUG IN THEIR LIFE EVEN WITH DS
-Vault a Window 5 times in chase as Yui
Game: Here's Infinite Tier 3 Myers, followed by Tombstone Myers who won't even chase you until he's ready to kill you.
-Pick up a Pallet within a certain range of the killer
Game: Here's a killer that will break pallets immediately, even the unsafe ones.
-Cleanse 15 totems
Game: Here's some teammates who'll actually cleanse totems instead of doing gens.
-
I just want a Parasite Eve Chapter. Mainly because setting things on fire would be awesome. And Aya Brea would make a great survivor. Also, a Lollipop Chainsaw Chapter would be great, with Juliet as the survivor and Swan as the killer (with his ability being able to summon Zombies, and eventually Killabilly, a giant Zombie who can one hit survivors) (The Zombies could maybe move faster than your average killer, but could be taken out by survivors kind of like Victor)
-
Too OP. Nobody wants to kill old ladies.
-
I feel like Fast Track should give more tokens after a survivor has been death hooked. That'd be sort of a comeback mechanic.
Self Preservation... yeah no reason to use it at this point. I like that idea mostly. Maybe not hide blood, but keep 10 seconds.
-
Yeah, I think they need to make a few slight changes. Ricochet Basekit. Maybe not let survivors automatically heal from the stab wounds. And maybe reduce the number of daggers required to injure/down a survivor.

Alternatively, just substitute Windows of Opportunity for knowledge of map layout.
"Oh, no! this guy's running Windows of Opportunity!" - No Killer, ever.
-
Pig is definitely among the weakest killers. This isn't confirmation bias. The statistics only tell us that, on average, killers are pretty good in chase. That's why killers like Pig and Freddy (who's powers are easy to use) are near the top, while Nurse (who isn't a regular looper) is at the bottom. Pig is only as high in the stats as she is, because her power is slowdown. Put Pig against 4 good loopers, and she doesn't fare as well as other Killers because she doesn't have a good Chase Power. She's basically just an M1 Killer with a very strong power that only affects people she's actually downed (and only before the gens are done)
Stats don't tell the whole story. Yes, not every OoO escapes. That doesn't make it more fun to play against. If you're playing Trapper, OoO basically kills your power. And if someone with OoO is on comms, on Midwich... which, even if it doesn't happen often, is basically hell. It'd be like if survivors were exposed for the entire match against Legion, and Legion had an add-on that made Feral Frenzy count as a basic attack.
-
BBQ is perfectly fine, and is meant to draw the killer away from the hook. 40 meters is roughly 9 seconds to get yourself into a good position if the killer is headed your way. Run Kindred, and you can see which of your teammates the killer is heading for next. Or run Spine Chill to see if they're headed your way.
-
Nerf Dead Hard, and everyone will just run Sprint Burst and run away at the first sight of the killer. So next I'm sure killers will be calling to nerf Sprint Burst if Dead Hard gets nerfed. As much as killers complain about survivors demanding nerfs all the time, killers seem to be demanding the same nerfs.
-
Dead Hard is fine. And it's much more skill based than people will admit. A good dead hard can buy you decent time in a chase. A bad dead hard can buy you 3 seconds.
-
I uninstalled on PS4 once I got it on PS5 so I don't know. On Switch it was really bad. Might be a FPS issue.
-
Just stop teabagging at the exit gates, especially if I gave you a fair game. Maybe it's not meant to be taunting, but it definitely feels like it. Especially when you dead hard to avoid giving me one last hit.
-
NoED should either be reworked so that:
A. It's power is dependent on the number of totems left. Meaning that a survivor team that cleanses 4 totems but can't find that last one aren't punished as bad as the team that ignored them.
B. It's power is something other than an insta-down, but still very strong.
or
C. The killer earns their insta-downs, meaning that only survivors who were hooked at least once are 'exposed'
NoED isn't OP. It's just not fun to play against, much like OoO (which also wasn't OP, but was incredibly not fun to play against)
-
Doesn't happen for me. Do you have your system placed horizontally or vertically?
-
Survivor Perks
Scream for Me
After 30/20/15 seconds in the killer's terror radius while not in chase, Scream For Me will activate. You can scream, notifying the killer of your location.
DANCE BATTLE
While on the hook, if a killer is within 15 meters of you for more than 60 seconds, this perk will activate. The killer will then begin a DANCE BATTLE and start dancing uncontrollably. For 5/10/15 seconds, the killer will lose control and just DANCE and be unable to attack during that time.
body rolls
While not injured, press the active button as the killer hits you to avoid the hit, making the killer miss. Causes exhaustion for 60/50/45 seconds.
KILLER PERKS
HEX: Breakdance
After hitting a survivor with a basic attack, all breakable walls within a 10 meter radius will be broken. Has a 90/80/70 second cooldown.
HEX: hidden talent
Causes all hex totems to appear as regular totems. After being broken, receive the haste status for 40/50/60 seconds.
Fire & Desire
After hitting a survivor with a basic attack 4 times, all vaults within a 20 meter radius will be blocked for 10/20/30 seconds.
-
Deathslinger. He probably wouldn't kill me, and he's Irish.
-
I think the best thing to do would be to add a new status effect: Drunkeness. While drunk, survivors are unable to work on generators. They have to SOBER UP. It takes 8 seconds to sober up, or 4 seconds for another survivor to Sober you up. Each afterpiece tonic would cause you to become a little more drunk, until you were totally drunk. Not sure what the balance would be fore how many tonics should make you 'drunk', because I'm not really a Clown player. But that's my idea.
-
Unless you can make me good at Nurse, I don't think you can help much with Chain Combo. Nurse is really tough to use on Console.
For anyone who hasn't done Item of Interest yet, I strongly suggest bringing a Firecracker. They count as a Very Rare or better item. I did not know this, and was disappointing when I found a firecracker instead of a purple item or better. I escaped with it, only to find that it counted.

Survivor:
"You're a bad teammate because you didn't come to save us!"
(Keep in mind that I had Kindred, Freddy was camping the basement, and he had ALL three of my teammates down there. Even if I had borrowed time, how was I supposed to save them? So I just did gens to complete my archive challenge and hope Freddy eventually left so I could go down for them, but he never did.)
Killer:
"Dirty Tunneler. (Followed by Racial Slurs, Death Wishes, and More)
(Keep in mind I never hooked the same person twice in a row. They all had DS and I never got hit by it once. The game was VERY rough at the start because I finished a short chase, and two gens popped, then a third gen popped by the time I downed another survivor (then the other survivor got unhooked. Luckily I was playing Freddy and had PGTW, and they practically 3 gend themselves.)
Sometimes get called a tunneler even when I go out of my way to not tunnel. Often to my own detriment. (I now just tell them "I face a lot of people. For you this was personal, for me this was (Insert day of the week)."
From a Killer:
Saying that Ruin/Undying needs to be nerfed, and saying the match was kind of unfair cause my team kept cleansing. (I think I cleansed once all game, and only at the end. I figured he slugged me for the 4K, but he really wanted the guy who kept cleansing and gave me the hatch)
-
Really hope this means our killer has fire powers. I JUST WANT TO SET THE WORLD ON FIRE IS THAT SO WRONG BHVR?

Kind of bad examples. I’ve actually cleansed 4 totems all by myself on many occasions. Grabbing more than one survivor out of a locker does seem a bit more like stars need to be in the proper alignment sort of thing. For every challenge there is usually at least one perk that will increase your odds of success substantially. You just need to figure what it is.
I said Hex Totems, not regular totems.
-
@CountVampyr said:
It isn’t much of a challenge if it’s easy, is it?
It's not about being easy. It's totally out of your control.
It'd be like if there were a challenge that said: "Cleanse 4 hex totems. Complete this in one Trial."
or "Grab a survivor out of a locker twice in one match." (This was an actual challenge IIRC)
It's not really skill based. It's totally in the control of your opponents. If a Killer picks up a survivor instantly, you can't pick them up from being downed no matter how skilled you are.

It's necessary when trying to do the damn Heroic Cause challenge. 😭
Best way to avoid all slugging in a game: Have this challenge activated.

Your ideas are simply too radical, and punish survivors for playing with their friends. Remember that not every SWF is a Swat Team ready to stomp killers into oblivion. Some are just friends who play casually together. Sometimes without comms, even. Heck, I've played in SWFs where I've never even spoken to the other players.
- SWF Groups shown in Lobby
- Problem: Killers would lobby dodge, making lobby times longer for survivors who want to play with their friends.
- 10% movement speed increase
- Problem: Killers would be almost as fast as Legion in Frenzy. And with one stack of PWYF they'd be just as fast. With three stacks, they'd be as fast as a cloaked Wraith with Yellow Windstorm Addon. It's simply too fast.
- 25% boost to recovery speed
- Problem: This is instantly 5 stacks of Save the Best for Last. Combine with STBFL and you'd get 65% boost to recovery speed. So basically 13 stacks of STBFL. Combine this with the 10% movement speed increase, and survivors would go down almost instantly after taking a hit.
- 25% boost to BP
- This isn't a bad idea, actually. It doesn't punish anyone, just rewards the killer.
Instead of how to punish players for playing with their friends, we should be focusing on closing the gap between SWF and Solo, then buffing Killers as necessary. This means more information for Survivors in the HUD. Information that SWF typically have if they're on comms. Including what perks your fellow survivors have.
-
Camping
- The Exit Gates are open or an exit gate is 99'd. The killer's only objective is to kill. No point chasing survivors toward the exit if you have a guy on the hook. You secure that kill and/or hope to take down another survivor who comes for the save.
- You know a survivor is in the area, waiting to unhook immediately.
- You can get someone to their second stage on the first hook because the survivors screwed up
Tunneling
- One survivor is on death hook, one survivor has been hooked once, and the other two haven't been hooked at all. Getting one survivor out of the game is a smarter move than going for someone on their second or first hook. (This is why it's important to sometimes take a hookstate for survivors, instead of staying unhooked all game)
- The guy who came for the unhook 10 seconds after you left is hiding and you can only find the survivor who just got unhooked.
- Everyone is healthy, the EGC is going or the Exit Gates are 99'd, and you can't instantly down anyone else.
Slugging
- You need to create pressure, and the opportunity arises to chase another survivor
- DS
- You have 2 dead, third guy is on death hook and you down him, and the 4th guy is waiting by the hatch
-
I've had this happen to me on the survivor side of things. Heck, me and two other guys got a GENERATOR DONE and then the game was like "Last guy didn't load in. GUESS YOU DEPIP!"
-
How about instead we buff survivors who are solo. Solo Survivors are 10% faster, they heal 10% faster, and do generators 10% faster. They also get 4 hook states.
No, wait. That's just a terrible idea and not fun for anyone. Just like your idea. My bad.
-
Give survivors +10,000 BP per Thumbs Up they receive (Not eligible for players you're in an SWF with)
Give Killers +15,000 BP per thumbs up they receive
-
If you want to save the 4th perk for something else, it's probably Botany Knowledge + We'll Make It + Either Emapthy (to find hurt survivors) OR Desperate Measures. If you want to throw on a 4th perk then I think Empathy AND Desperate Measures would be a good strong build. Really fast heals, especially after an unhook.
-
Depends on the killer.
Spirit? Nurse? Hag? Huntress? - Yeah, and they'd probably win with some regularity.
Pyramid Head? Freddy? Oni? Plague? - They'd win occasionally. Perfect Survivors never cleanse against plague, but with the right addons, Plague can be quite nasty.
Deathslinger? Blight? Doctor? - They'd sometimes win. But no guarantees.
Ghostface? Twins? Leatherface? Billy? Wraith? - They might win once in a while. With the right add-ons, they can be quite nasty. Wraith is probably there solely due to all-seeing eye.
Clown? Demogorgon? Legion? - Not impossible, but unlikely. A great Clown can close loops, but lacks strength the doctor does. Demo is pretty good, but he's too loud. And Legion's power just won't down people.
Trapper? Myers? Pig? - Very unlikely. Trapper needs too much time to set up his power, even with his best add-ons. Myers needs too much setup as well. And Pig doesn't have much of a chase power, meaning she won't be able to end chases very fast. Not impossible, but you'd pretty much need really good RNG and possibly a Tampered Timer.
-
I play this game way too much, cause I've almost got everyone to Level 50, and have only been playing on my current platform for 6 months. (Playing the game as a whole for a little over a year)
