  • People just want easy wins, so instead of learning to play against perks, they call for nerfs.

    Next up:

Dead Hard (Gives the survivor a longer chase, SO UNFAIR!)

Sprint Burst (Survivor can escape chases before they start. SO UNFAIR!)

Iron Will (Survivor totally counters killer's hearing. SO UNFAIR)

Adrenaline (Survivor on hook comes off totally healed. SO UNFAIR)

Unbreakable (Survivor can pick themselves up without help once. SO UNFAIR)

Borrowed Time (Survivor can safely unhook. SO UNFAIR)

Spine Chill (Survivor can tell when the killer is coming without a terror radius. SO UNFAIR)

Lithe (Survivor can gain more distance at a vault. SO UNFAIR)

    then on the killer's side:

BBQ+Chili (Killer sees auras of survivors. SO UNFAIR)

NoED (Killer gets to insta-down everyone. SO UNFAIR)

Corrupt Intervention (Survivors can't do gens they spawn next to immediately. SO UNFAIR)

Pop Goes the Weasel (Killers get to remove a ton of progress from a generator. SO UNFAIR)

Infectious Fright (Promotes slugging. SO UNFAIR!)

Save the Best for Last (Shortens chases for killers. SO UNFAIR)

Whispers (Killer can find last survivor at the exit gate. SO UNFAIR)

Monitor and Abuse (Deathslinger has a 5 meter terror radius. SO UNFAIR)

But even then people won't be satisfied. We'll keep nerfing perks on both sides until there's nothing fun to use, and then you might as well just play perkless. Which I think is what people seem to prefer at this point. Though they only want the other side to play perkless. Nothing that gives them any sort of advantage. That's SO UNFAIR. Almost like that's the point... of perks or something. To give you a leg up.

  • Green Key + No Mither + Object of Obsession = Hard Mode.

  • Changes I'd make to Wraith:

    • While Cloaked, Wraith now moves at 5.61 M/S.
    • Yellow Windstorm now buffs movement speed to 5.8 m/s
    • Green Windstorm now buffs movement speed to 5.98 m/s
    • Purple Windstorm now buffs movement speed to 6.16 m/s
    • Post Cloak Boost now lasts 2 seconds (up from 1.25)
    • "Shadow Dance" White, and "Shadow Dance Blood" now remain in effect for 10 seconds after uncloaking.

  • The pip bug is terrible.

I took a break from the game last month because the undying nerf was coming, and I was ready for it. So I deranked pretty far. Now, I'm in the Green Ranks, and matches go one of five ways:

#1: The Match never even starts, and I lose a pip because the game decided I should lose a pip for the match not loading. That's fun.

#2: I run the killer for 2+ minutes and get camped and/or tunneled because the killer is mad at me for lasting in a chase.

#3: I run the killer for 2+ minutes and my teammates just don't bother to save me. Or worse: They save me with the killer right next to me. Without Borrowed Time. Yep....

#4: I run the killer for 2+ minutes and my teammates don't last 10 seconds in chase against a Huntress who can't hit the broadside of a barn. Then get killed because I can't do 5 gens on my own or while being chased by the killer or unhooking my teammates (who all get downed in short time of each other)

#5: I actually escape because I finally get teammates that, like me, are in a rank they probably don't belong and actually can last in a chase and know how to save. But it's ultimately either an easy game against a low rank killer, or a higher rank killer that we do well against and is actually a fun match.

I get terrible teammates because I didn't play last month, and now can't rank up because matches either don't load and derank me, or I get no survival points because I can't escape while being camped or the killer slugs for the 4K after pretty much wiping the floor with the rest of my team.

  • If you finish a gen in someone's face, it shows you don't fear them. At that point, the only way to put the FEAR OF THE KILLER in them is to tunnel them and make sure they're on death hook so the next time they see you coming they RUN FOR THEIR LIVES.

    Dumbest 'rules' are:

Survivor: Yeah, "You can't go back to a hook after someone's been unhooked."

Killer: "Don't DS me if I didn't tunnel you."

  • Nope, I have a "Kill a survivor by your own hand with the Doctor" active.

  • Devs are a bit too cautious with perks. There's a LOT of perks that could be buffed that wouldn't break the game.

  • People keep saying it's a bit late, but is it really?

Blight's Teaser came out on August 14th, 2020

The Midchapter patch came out on July 28th, 2020

    Time between: 17 days

The most recent Midchapter patch came out February 9th

    Time since? 10 days.

  • Actually I think it's:

    1st attempt: 16%

    2nd attempt: 20%

    3rd attempt: 25%

    4th attempt: 33%

    5th attempt: 50%

    6th attempt: 100%

  • Are we really complaining about Franklin's here? Franklin's is a perfectly fair item counter. Stop asking to nerf/get rid of perks you don't enjoy playing against.

  • Calling someone a 'baby' isn't meant as an insult in this context. "Aww, it's a Baby Dwight." As in, "Aww, an adorable newbie who hides in lockers and has no idea what they're doing."

As long as something more or less equal is added to killer's basekit, since you're basically giving survivors 5th perk for free.

I'd be okay with trading BT as basekit for BBQ+Chili as basekit. Survivors get safer unhooks. Killers get an idea of where they should go next, and bonus BP.

  • New Perk: "Take One For The Team". When being unhooked, if you take a hit that would put you in the dying state, the damage is ignored and applied to the person who unhooked you instead."

"Dammit Claudette. The killer is right behind you. LEAD HIM AWAY FROM ME INSTEAD OF UNHOOKING ME."

Since you haven't been playing killer, you may not have realized this, but killer isn't any easier. The hits that we get look perfectly normal on our screen, and we still have to be the same distance away.

It's easier. You just don't notice it. The difference isn't huge, though. But it's definitely there.

  • What if we increased the required number of tokens for Devour Hope, since Devour Hope can be paired with Undying now.

...What? You don't like that idea? You don't want your perks nerfed? What's fair for the goose is fair for the gander.

  • I'm guessing we'll get it around March 5th or 12th ish.

Umm isn't it physically impossible to do a gen in 27 seconds 😂 even with 4 people on it ctfu. Only way you had this happen, is if you had a hacker. We has a Dwight hacker where he had speed hacks and could finish gens by just touching them. He would fly across the map, tap a gen and it would complete. That's hilarious 😂 😂 I kind of wish you had the footage so we could see.

Yep, had this happen as a survivor once. As soon as I loaded into the match, I saw lights come on. I didn't understand what happened, but noticed that a gen was done. Killer came up to me. Hit me, another gen popped. I ran right back to the doctor and was like "WTH" and he was like "WTH" and then he quit and I honestly don't blame him.

  • They're buffing a whole bunch of perks to make them actually worth using.

  • Rank isn't really meaningless. I'm back to Rank 17 as killer, and now can actually complete the Nurse challenge. No way I could do that against a Red Rank team. I'm an AWFUL nurse (though I'm marginally getting better. It's hard on console)

  • Giving Survivor items can be smart, but a lot of survivors won't notice. I've left a med-kit for a survivor to heal up because the killer was coming and I was going to take the hit, and run for it and couldn't heal them in the meantime. Went back later, and there was my medkit still there.

As for Sabo'ing... it's really difficult if you're not on comms. A good sabo build for solo players though is Sabotage, Empathy, and Breakout. (Breakout isn't necessary, but it can make the difference).

NoED is a powerful perk. That isn’t in question . . . . But how does it relate to this discussion?

Both are perks sides can benefit form without actually running it.

  • It's funny. I mean that's probably why a lot of people do it.

  • They just need to buff some perks to make them more useful tbh. Too many perks are just way too niche to use.

What a ridiculous comparison. If 1 single survivor takes that perk then the other 3 benefit from it and the killer won't know which have it.

How about we notify killers about which survivors have DH too? so they can lunge freely without having to play it safe and wait just incase? you can take this far and it gets ridiculous.

It's a perfectly fair comparison. Survivors have to cleanse 5 totems in case of NoED. If they don't "Oops, should've anticipated that!" If the killer doesn't have the perk, they waste all that time cleansing those totems. Killers should have to expect DS in every game, regardless of if survivors are running it or not. Both encourage healthier gameplay.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

No, I can't stand survivors like this it just screams entitlement. You want the benefits of DS without sacrificing the perk slot. I always take DS, if the killer tries to tunnel me out fast I get a second chance to buy the team some time. Other survivors "leeches" as I call them don't take it assuming someone else will have it and the killer won't tunnel but some killers don't care. They know it's worth the gamble, and when they take that chance they see oh look the survivor doesn't have it and then tunnel them out very fast.

If you want the benefits of DS then bring it as a perk it's that simple.

So do you think Survivors should be notified of NOED if the killer has it? Or do killers only get the benefit of a perk they might not be running?

  • I run into it more than I'd like. Especially now that we've hit rank reset. Had a Legion just camp/tunnel me hard. It wasn't even in his best interest to do it. Our first chase lasted a good while. OUr second chase lasted even longer, and only ended because I couldn't vault for some reason. (A teammate was behind me, so I guess we were both trying to vault at the same time.) Then nobody came for me (including the survivor who unhooked me with BT the first time). I guess I should just be grateful my team did the gens instead of doing nothing so the killer was at least punished that way. (3-man escape. Camping and tunneling did him no good, and would've been a 4-man escape if my team bothered trying to save me) Hopefully he learns that it's not the best strategy, but he'll probably just figure the game is super survivor sided and blame game balance instead of his own choices for his loss.

DS is easily the most powerful survivor perk. Not just in what it does, but how it effects killer gameplay. It gives killer a choice, and often a bad choice. BT is probably the next strongest perk in terms of effecting a killer’s behavior . I don’t really think you are suggesting that these perks are not used in most games.

I completely understand why survivors run these perks, but I don’t think it is reasonable for survivors to expect to have the benefit in change in killer gameplay without actually having to run the perks.

    You mean like NoED?

  • When I got downed quickly by a Huntress with an Iri Hatchet and an Ebony Mori. (Keep in mind, this was before Mori's were changed. So I was dying anyway). Though I did this once, and... managed to escape. (Only to die shortly after). Actually have escaped against one before, though. Iri Hatchet + Ebony Mori, but I didn't know they had an iri hatchet until the end because they weren't good at huntress at all. I didn't realize they had iri hatchet until they hit me at the exit gate. I still got out though, as did my team.

  • Melissa Pearce

    Samara

    Killabilly

    Pinhead

  • You have three options:

    #1. Turn off messaging.

    #2. Ignore them

#3. Troll them. "You suck in chase!" "Thanks! I ran the killer for like 5 minutes." "No u didnt'." "Haha. You're right. I'm a god at this game. I should go pro."

  • Dead Hard is fine as it is. Killers should stop complaining about it just like survivor should stop complaining about BBQ. Is it a strong perk? Yes. Should survivors and killers have strong perks? Absolutely! If anything we need to buff other perks to make them more viable, not nerf perks to make them less useful.

  • Learn to live with them. Don't expect to escape every game. Use every experience to get better.

  • They really just need to add information to the HUD. Show the survivors (only the survivors, for obvious reasons) what the other survivors are doing. In chase with a killer? Their Icon Lights up. Working on a generator? A little generator Icon appears next to them. Working on a totem? Little totem icon appears next to them. Opening an exit gate? EXIT lights up next to them. Is the killer within 10M of the hook? Give an indicator for that too.

Then, buff killers as necessary. This would bring Solo more in line with SWF without adding Voice Chat, and would create a more pleasant experience for everyone. Including the killer, who'd receive necessary buffs to deal with SWF/the new info.

  • The Selfless Build:

    Babysitter

    Borrowed Time

    For the People

    Breakout

  • It's a bug. Yeah, it sucks. I depipped cause the killer rage quit after Ruin got broken (they had Blood Warden and NoED and were playing Nurse) after we finished a generator. Got 0 BP too for some reason. Hopefully there'll be an emblem hot fix sometime.

  • NoED should be nerfed to where only survivors who've been hooked at least once are exposed. If you've never been hooked, you don't get exposed. That way the killer can't just camp one survivor, and then clean up with NoED.

  • Killers need to stop assuming other killers play like them. There are plenty of killers who wait around the hook, making it impossible to get away.

  • Yeah, that seems to be happening. I thought it was weird I didn't get even bronze, but then thought "Eh, maybe I just didn't last long enough."

  • Goodbye Twins. They're designed terribly, and their perks aren't that good.

  • The only change he needs is BT should work against him.

  • I can't think a step ahead of survivors. I'm always reacting rather than acting. Game doesn't really teach you to do that, and I played killer a long time before discovering streamers.

  • Mettle of Man is annoying on the rare occasion it activates. You just never expect it, and then WHAM someone that should've went down doesn't.

No Mither is annoying because I always feel guilty killing them. What if they're just doing a rift challenge? If they're David, what if they're just trying to get their adept? Gah.

  • You can detect a killer by looking at them, so it doesn't make sense that undetectable killers aren't completely invisible.

  • Stereotypes:

Freddy - On average running 3.5 slowdown perks, and at least one slowdown addon.

Leatherface - Thinks Facecamping is funny. Probably running insidious. Will only use M1 if they keep bumping into stuff.

Pig - A good one knows Booping the Snoot is funny, and appreciates it. The toxic ones will tunnel anyone with a trap on their head.

Plague - Probably running infectious Fright. Will almost NEVER use their M1 to injure survivors, even when they're half a meter in front of them.

Deathslinger - Most likely running A Nurse's Calling and Monitor and Abuse. Most likely won't go too far from the hook.

Demogorgon - Will either be godlike with their teleports, or be run around like a cartoon cat chasing a cartoon mouse.

Spirit - Probably running Stridor. Rarely wears the default outfit unless they're new.

  • @bepis said:

I'm fine with teabagging, i'm fine with clicking, whatever, if you wanna be a toxic survivor then so be it.

But why is it that every time the exit gates are open and i'm just letting the remaining survs go, there's always one motherf cker who has to blind me with the flashlight before leaving? And for what, 200BP ?

If you're a surv who does this can you tell me why you do this? I promise i won't get mad

Archives. Most killers know how to avoid flashlights, and we haven't completed those archive challenges yet.

  • Had someone complain that I wasn't using tier 3 perks. Made me want to bang my head against the wall.

  • I ran into a Nurse once having one of those nights. My teammates were a jerk to him. I thought he played well, and we got lucky especially with cleansing Devour Hope instead of Haunted Grounds. Afterwards he messaged me to ask why Adam teabagged him at the exit gate, and I told him he was probably just being a douche. I told him his blinks were good, and we got lucky that we cleansed DH. A lot of killers have one of those nights. (For me, those nights are every night.)

  • Off the Record is just a weaker version of Iron Will. How often does the killer really even see your aura? Unless they have add-ons, I guess. OTR could use a bit of a buff tbh.

  • Stun duration can't be reduced because of Nurse.

  • I think with these changes, it'd make sense to pause the timer while in chase. I think that'd be fair, since now if you do anything to progress the game, it deactivates.
