As always, not one suggestion in this thread as to what else survivors are supposed to do. What are 3 survivors supposed to do when the killer is already in chase with the 4th? Killers do not want the third player hanging around for the flashlight save or sabo play correct? That’s annoying correct? So please, for once- instead of complaining about this dumbass term of “gen rushing,” give some suggestions what else survivors can do within current game mechanics so it “lasts longer” for killer. I’m waiting.
P.S Totems and Chests take mere seconds and survivors are already doing them every match. We see each other interacting with them in the HUD.

It's a boring perk that encourages more time sitting on gens before the person getting tunneled dies.
I'm not sure why anyone should ever enjoy going against it. It doesn't change interactions it just removes them.
Holy 40+ vote down, Batman.

I've been getting a lot of people giving up at the very start of the match, no matter what killer I play, what build I use, or how nice I am. It ruins the match for myself and their teammates, so in retaliation, I usually keep slugging them so they have to stay in the match.
Would you consider this a toxic thing to do? Should I instead hook them and let everyone go next quicker?

It's just punishment for throwing your team. I do the same thing to people who run right up to me and ask to be killed.

I am shocked that both Territorial Imperative & Red Herring didn’t make the list. Those are the absolute worst killer and survivor perks, respectively.

I am a Japanese DBD player.
In Japan, there is talk of a big difference in playstyle between the North American and other server environments and the Asian server environments.
(For example, it is often said that both survivors and killers on Asian servers focus on winning, while on North American servers they focus on having fun, etc.)
Also, the evaluation of killers is very different.
For example, Chucky, for example, was treated as a weak killer with a D rank at best, even before the weakening.
Please let me know your opinions.Question: do players on Asian servers have similar complaints about the game as their North American counterparts?

They're phrases people can quickly select ingame like "I'm going for the rescue" or "I'm in a chase" that people can use to notify their teammates.
Wow, we could definitely use that in the main game. Thanks.

I'm surprised by how many people are saying Kindred. I didn't think that perk had that much sway anymore.
My picks would be…
Survivor: Sprint Burst. It's unconditional, has potentially extreme impact, and only a handful of killers can hope to contest it (by which I mean lower its value, I'm not saying the perk's overpowered or anything). Something like DS or STB requires the killer to tunnel, SB doesn't care how they play.
Killer: Pain Resonance. Slowdown is among the most powerful archetype of perk to bring (tied with information), and Pain Res is very potent slowdown gained essentially for free, it only requires hooking on specific hooks - otherwise it just activates passively off normal gameplay. For the same reason, Grim Embrace is another pick you could put in top spot here.
I’m surprised as well, since the black bubble blocks out the killer who just hooked someone (never understood why this was added; for the longest I thought it was a glitch smh). You barely have time to see which direction they are heading in. If it’s a stealth killer who activates their stealth while the bubble is still up (Wraith), you won’t know which direction they are are headed. Kindred is still a good perk, don’t get me wrong- but I could name at least 3 others I would put before it (even launch Kindred).
For me it’s Windows and Lethal Pursuer.
-
I play all Survivors, but my least two favorite are Taurie (barely touch her) and Gabriel. I’m not a fan of their cosmetics or character design.
For killer it’s Twins; I do not see any appeal in their power.

@TragicSolitude said:
For me, it's along the lines of
Me: Be most active person on the team. The HUD is mostly devoid of icons as I try to do gens. The three of my teammates together get one gen done while I do the other four and take all the aggro. Because I take all the aggro, I'm destined to at some point end up on the hook. Then, the other three survivors teabag in the exit gate without even bothering to come for me. I die with more BP than they escape with.
SBMM: Well, you died, so you're bad at the game. That means your MMR is going down. Your teammates are now even worse than your previous ones.
Even if SBMM is working as intended, it practically treats survivor MMR as if we're each an island and not like our three teammates have as much if not more to do with our survival than our own skill. So it leads to awful matches whether or not it's working the way BHVR programmed it to work.
Then I'll randomly get some match where it's me and three skilled survivors against a baby killer, and that killer probably uninstalls the game after the match ends. DbD treats its players worse than anything else I've played. It doesn't just throw new or struggling players into the deep end, it throws them into the abyssal depths of an ocean filled with sharks.
Well said.
If we are to be stuck with SBMM, then at the very least make it that simply escaping is not the way to bump up your MMR. Your MMR can increase if you played extremely well but did not escape. If you played extremely well and escaped, your MMR goes even higher. If you played like trash and escaped third to last with BP and 3-4 gens left, then you MMR doesn’t even move. Hell, I would argue let it drop a little, even.

Yes, bro- although Aura perks add variety- there are too many. They have a big impact on the way the game is played, and contribute to a lot of player frustrations.
I believe within the next year, the DBD community is going to be sick of all the aura reading and start to voice more grievances with them.
-
Bad:
- Wake Up Nerf
- Stealth Change to make it easier to pull survivors off gens (window was increased even after a second survivor lets go- even with great ping on every player in lobby)
- Adding more Aura perks (on both sides) to the game
Good:
- Quality of cosmetics are getting back to the quality we are accustomed to (some even exceeding)
- Music continues to be top notch
- More frequent blood hunts/feasts
- Bringing older rift cosmetics to the store for purchase
-
Getting a refund is not an option.
-
Lightborn under no circumstances should be touched. It's in a perfect place. An entire perk slot is being used for it, so killers need to get full value from the perk. It's not even Meta.
-
I’m not having fun like I used to between 2018 and 2020. I should not be going into a two hour gaming session, expecting to lose 90% of my matches and just hoping for the best.
For me it’s SBMM in combination of making game balances that critically nerf us solos and merely inconveniences SWF’s. However, it’s mostly SBMM killing the fun. It’s not fun going against killers that are way more skilled and experienced at the game than I am, with 3 other teammates that are not as skilled or experienced as me. I don’t need my teammates to be great loopers. I just need them to have the experience and game sense to not make unnecessary bad plays, and most importantly- not to ragequit. How are intermediate players such as myself are supposed to have fun when the game requires you to escape to raise your MMR? We rarely escape when given teammates who are novices against seasoned veteran killers. That’s not fair. Change the win conditions back to pipping, which was a better indicator of how well you played the match. Let that be the factor that raises your MMR. People who ragequit a lot, go afk, or make constant bad plays will remain at the bottom until their behavior and skills improve.
Also- the MMR range is too wide, and MM prioritizing que times over quality matches just compounds on making the matches less fun.
-
A Foxy skin for Blight would be fitting.

I don't have any in game phobias but Nemesis' needle use is way too loud, and the screams caused by scene partner are very irritating. I'm convinced players are purposely putting it on Steve to be the most annoying, because I see him with it the most.

Swarm is IMO the best controller survivor when it comes to vaulting. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/6DOa3567D3I
Sometimes the key is when you press the vault button, requiring it to be done at near the very last possible moment. If you can, take a run at a tricky window a few times without vaulting, and look for that brief moment when the prompt text at the middle bottom of the screen changes to 'fast vault' or whatever it says. It might only flash up briefly, but that's your window to do it.
Sometimes you have to grind along the opposite wall as you're running and then turn last second to give yourself enough spacing and momentum to hit the fast vaults :)
Thank you.

That sounds like a bug that should be fixed, right? Getting a fast vault from a parallel object sounds like bypassing game mechanics.
Oh, no- not a bug. You don't get the fast vault from the object itself; the object (or wall) is positioned fairly close to the window, creating somewhat of a skill expression for the player to execute a fast vault while in chase (because of tight spacing between window & chair/wall/etc.).
I tried to find an example online to screenshot and paste here, but no luck. It would be better to screenshot in game.

It's one of those i can show u better than i can tell you things. The vast majority of windows can be fast vaulted from any angle regardless of platform. I mainly play on ps5 but can also fast vault most windows on switch. If u legit wanna learn how we can run custom matches.

I think Chucky is good now, except for Scamper who is still useless. The Skull Merchant is dead. But what does this have to do with what I said? I meant that just because something was buffed or nerfed doesn't mean it's fair, that was my point.Just because Erye and Badham have already been nerfed doesn't mean they're fair now, it's still a map that favors survivors.
I understood what you meant; but by that same logic that several nerfs sometimes can’t be enough, the same can be said for sometimes several nerfs can be overdone and make something unpopular and unhealthy for the game.
As for Chucky, the general consensus in the community is that he’s no longer competitive and not worth the energy to make him work (unless you’re a Chucky main ofc). He should be reverted back to launch.

9 down votes? Sheesh. Some people don’t have a sense of humor.
@CountOfTheFog you went against a SWF of Smurfs with thousands of hours in the game. They do not need perks or items at your level to pull of big plays and succeed.
I am not a fan of smurfing in videogames; I wish people wouldn’t do it.
-
When did you guys start playing? Both Badham and Eyrie have already been nerfed. Both were shrunken in size and Eyrie was nerfed at least twice already with the god pallet removed in main, and the newer 50/50 tiles added.
If every map gets the Wrecker’s Yard treatment, playing Solo Que survivor at lower to mid levels will be brutal.
-
Totem spawns used to be worse, and not changed very often. When they were changed in older builds of the game, I could adopt fairly quickly and remember the new spawn patterns. Now, I find it more challenging to locate them- even with the knowledge that they are within close proximity to 5 of the 7 gens on the map. Before I could tell when the spawns changed with new chapters. Now that I have challenges locating and remembering their spawns for the past 3 chapters- I can’t tell if they are being changed more frequently, and/or their current spawns are more creative. A lot of times I say to myself “interesting place to have this here.”
I know it takes up an extra perk slot, but launch Undying was very good and I wish it was not nerfed. I understand that lower levels struggled with both it and launch Ruin, but it was nice to have and play against variety. Yea that combo were gen slow-down perks, but at least they were a different type of slow-down, as opposed to today’s Pain Res, Surge, Pop, Grim Embrace every day Meta.
-
Please give examples; some of us have never played or seen videos of mobile.

While not common there is a key add on, wedding ring that can also reduce your chances of it but am not sure by how much%. I once tried ooo with said key add on and my friend was the obsession instead of even though they were not running any obsession perk.
For the people and blood pack reduces chances as well so am thinking say running one of those+wedding ring which reduce chances will counter the increase chances and vica versa.
This.
I was about to ask if he had a key equipped with wedding ring. I'm not the Obsession when I usually equip this combo to Laurie with DS. If no key was equipped, did you carefully read each perk both you and survivors had? There are some perks I thought I knew well, but have side effects I either did not realize or forgot about. For example, I did not realize "For the People" makes you the Obsession when used.

Cope (insightful live commentary & knows his stuff), Quietkills (hilarious & refreshing), FLEXCAM (hasn't uploaded in a while, but very skilled at top MMR), and lonestar CC (runs or used to run with FLEXCAM and also highly skilled at top MMR).
All mentioned above are entertaining and/or informative in their own right.

Yeah, mine too. "If you go to save against Trapper in basement you'll die too," I tell them. Later… "Aw, what?! Toxic Trapper camping basement, getting an extra free kill!" And I'd love to see a random message us about not coming to save them, when they hid and barely touched gens all match. Those same ones won't get go for free save in endgame, or don't understand how. But sometimes at the end, especially if you've got a dying streak going or you're in MMR hell, you should just play for you and leave.
If a teammate gets hooked in basement during endgame by Trapper, Billy, Bubba, or Huntress- the best case scenario is a trade. Someone is going to get sacraficed at some point, but most likely you'll just give those killers another one or two bodies.

BHVR got gaslit into thinking Map Offerings are all about advantage. Clearly they don't consider things from an unbiased view. This is the result. Clearly a vast majority...not all... can't be arsed to use the tools BHVR provides (Sac Ward) so BHVR just needs to do the next thing. 🤡🤡🤡
Map offerings are an advantage. It’s not a coincidence when certain maps get reworked/balanced or nerfed, survivors stop bringing them. There is a reason why killers burn indoor maps (Midwich the most)- especially with Doctor, Pig, Myers, Wraith, Ghostface, or anyone with Hex/Totem builds (Harder to find because of multi-level).
BHVR should release the kill/survival rates on maps with every Chapter.
-
I don't dislike any maps as killer- not even Badham or Eyrie. Eyrie has been nerfed three times and main is crap- especially upstairs. I don't get the hate for it; it's overrated.
As far as a map that I hate that is not part of the usual suspects? Wrecker's Yard. Screw that map. Sucks to play it as survivor. May the DBD gods be with you if you get to vs. Nurse or Blight on that thing; GG.
-
F13 was my favorite game from last gen. I had a lot of fun with that one. Damn shame the lawsuit ruined it. I don’t understand why the creator waited over 40 plus years to decide to file a lawsuit; terrible timing. Does anyone know if it was because of the success of the game?
-
It could be worse: Nurse, Nurse, Nurse, Nurse.
I enjoy vs. Blight for the most part. The only Blights I do not have fun against are the PC curving Blights that land hits on what seems to be 98% of their swings. It’s very oppressive and not a fun experience.
-
Give it time, you’ll get used to it.
Play more killer, you’ll appreciate it.
-
Let’s see how the changes work first; the first iteration won’t be the end all be all. Surely the devs will fine tune if needed. They are giving the community what we asked for, so let’s be positive.
-
I use it only on Taurie and it's not a good perk, like many others have said above. It almost gives Red Herring a run for worst Survivor perk.
-
If you want to play nice and avoid the BMing from survivors, it’s best to make the decision before the match starts. I’ll go add-on less and perk less, and play the game going for hooks. Anyone who BM’s will be sacrificed if I down them on death hook, and the others I will down in end game if I catch them. I’ll swipe at the air to signal their friends to pick them up and walk away. Kind of hard to talk smack to someone who obviously went easy on your team. And for those who BMed and died, i imagine them being salty losing to a perkless and add-on less Trapper who didn’t camp, tunnel, or slug. Plus they’ll know the teabagging got them killed while their buddies who were just trying to play the game got to enjoy the chases while gens were still up and escaped.
-
- Territorial Imperative is the worst perk in the game
- SWF’s need to be removed from the main game and limited to KWF
- Aura perks for both killer and survivors should be removed (they’re no different than cheating with wall hacks and both feel cheap to play against: no skill required)
- Wraith getting buffed with a speed boost didn’t make sense; felt like a band-aid fix and it’s cheap to play against. Better buff would have been silent foot steps when cloaked, brutal strength basekit when cloaked, and the add-on for the bell to sound like it is anywhere as basekit
- Chucky needs to be reverted back to launch Chucky
- NOED needs to be reverted back to launch
- Pain Res reverted back
- Dark Sense reverted back
- Wake Up Reverted Back
- Distortion Reverted
- Lucky Break reverted
- Ruin reverted
- Nemesis whip reverted
- Freddy transferring to completed gens removed
- Skull merchant getting stealth and speed buffs walking in drone areas removed
- Drones reverted back to launch with two way detection
- Sadako reverted back to launch
- Nurse nerfed
- Wraith, Nurse, and Hag Trap burn with flashlights restored
- Trapper can carry 3 traps basekit
- Map offerings either removed or reversed to the map you do NOT want to play on
- Undying reverted back to launch
- Gen kick limit removed
- Reassurance reverted to PTB
- BP added back to perks like barbecue & we’re gonna live forever
- SBMM/MMR removed and red ranks returned
- A lot of children (middle school and younger) play this game, and there will be a serious influx of them when FNAF hits
-
What region do you play in? There’s a ton of us on the North American servers and it’s rare for me to run into high ping killers. The NA servers are pretty stable.
Connection is not why I ask myself this very question; it’s the constant imbalance of the game making solo que and playing killer (I don’t slug, camp, or tunnel) more and more miserable. It’s also SBMM.
Why do I accept those two? Because I’m chasing a high from DBD in 2019 that I will most likely never get back.
-
I feel your pain.
-
“At this points it's almost all of them. Mostly all Killers/Perks/Maps heavily destroy SoloQ in the vain of trying to balance the game around SWF. Last 5 matches I just played, no gameplay for any of us. Just Killers with all the same builds, same characters, doing the same things. Blight with Lethal who's downing Survs 2 seconds into the match and then slugging everyone else. Or nurse with Lethal doing the same. Then even if gens do start to get done, it's the same gen regression/lockout perks so gens are blocked for minutes.
The game is atrocious rn for SoloQ.”
@Roco45 Well said. I agree wholeheartedly.
-
I would say Nurse, but not even the best players can deal with/counter her. That’s the reason why she’s banned from comp.
It used to be Plague, Legion, and Pinhead- but the DBD community has become a lot better of not cleansing, not healing, and doing the lament box.
As of now, I say Sadako. Players are still not doing TV’s. You have to suppress her power. I’m seeing an increase of players dying to condemn at one or no hook stages. If everyone in solo queue does their part of doing TV’s, then she wouldn’t wreck the team at 3 and 4 gens. They’ll still lose, but at least they won’t get destroyed.
-
Although he can be very annoying to deal with at times, he is fine as is.
I’ll take Wesker’s bloated kit over a slugging Nurse with four aura perks, any day.
-
@solidhex said:
Complete opposite for me. I'm playing against Freddy every third game and it's an insta lose because people give up immediately and they made him the typical solo q noob stomper that he already was years ago, easy to play and comparatively oppressive. I wouldn't be surprised if he is No. 1 on the next killer-killrate list.
This. My sentiments exactly. He reminded me of old oppressive Freddy that made you feel like you did not have a chance in hell of having fun, let alone escaping. He can camp and dream snare combo you while you save a hooked survivor. It’s a guaranteed trade if you don’t dodge it. If you’re injured going for the save, the snare will interrupt you and he will follow up with a hit before you can complete the unhook. So now that player is still on hook and you’re left on the floor. Feels cheap.

The DC penalty should put players who DC a lot (for whatever reason) in lobbies with other players who DC a lot. Then they can all see how their behavior/“bad internet” affects other people. No lock out of the game, just lobbies and lobbies full of other players with bad internet connections and ragequits.
