I mean people are gonna stop Dc’ing.

They're just gonna kill themselves on hook now. You can’t really stop someone from leaving a DBD game.

But they can be stopped to kill themselfs too early. If hook stages are reworked as I suggested it'll look like normal player trying to survive so that killer will stay on guard and camping killers will lose games harder.

Also any change to discourage this behaviour is welcomed. Every other multiplayer game has a system to punish DCing so why DBD should be single game in existence where people who don't have "fun" should be allowed to ruin fun of 4 other players.

The real question is, do we call him Oni-Chan or Oni-Sama?

    Always Oni-Sama.

  • Finally original killer once again. I hope all perks to be good.

  • I'd love to have Hades. Give me Hades pretty please. I'd scorch survivors and send my useless minions to chatch them for me while plotting diabolical schemes in the basement.

  • You really want to keep something exclusive to yourself don't you ? It's just skins, what's the big deal. People had their exclusivity for a while and now they don't, game's still buggy unbalanced mess so why care about skins so much.

I like how you didn't read the whole thing and still responded ;)

What are you reffering to ? Call me dumb but how is giving out code exclusives the same thing as giving out Legacy which was said to be never given ? Or is it something else that I missed from your post ?

  • I don't remember devs to ever say that cosmetics that were given out by codes will stay exclusive forever. If you have any clip or devs post where they said so please share it. They even made almost the same looking cosmetics for lot of them just so that people don't feel left out (Chuckles and Iron Chuckles for example). So no promises broken here.

Unlike Legacy which devs specifically said many times will stay exclusive forever. Once it's given out for free to everyone nobody will ever wear it again since there are far far prettier cosmetics and it actually makes it super easy to spot you as survivor and killer which is bad.

Tbh I wouldn't really mind if they did give legacy to everyone ( I have 1 piece myself) but devs promised to never do it and they would be kinda breaking their word if they did it which would make them look bad.

  • Spirit is about to get second carnage of her life.

  • Just wait for the full release of servers so that we can FINALLY get harsher punishments for quitters.

  • Unfortunately Emblem system heavily encourages farming and not winning as efficiently as you can. Just my opinion but Survival and Sacrafice emblems should be the main emblems that have twice as much impact on ranking then other 3 emblems since they are the main focus of each side.

  • I like the feeling of self sufficiency since sometimes I play with such potatoes that I can't rely on anyone but myself. Also it's not a bad perk as many would like everyone to believe but rather it requires game knowledge to know when to use it and when to not use it.

Although it can't be truly meta since SWF really doesn't need it. But for solos it's pretty amazing.

  • Using Judith's tombstone + Fragrant turf of hair very often. Then moonwalking towards my victims after I reach T3.

    It already does.

I just wish they removed the aura downside.

Dunno about that. I think that DBD's definition of "protection" is pretty bad. Some actions like bodyblocking hits doesn't reward a stack like 80% of the time at least from my experience. They need serious fixing since the rules for getting a protection hit are really messy.

  • Even better idea, make protection hits actually register protection worthy actions.

  • "Shouldn't the ranking system be fixed so it can accurately measure and rank skill?"

That just might be impossible. How to create system that can always determine skillful gameplay. How do you measure and differentiate mindgames, luck, pressure, decision making on both sides (like when it's right choice to camp as killer or just focus gens as survivor) and so much more.

Current system tries to do that but it's more of how well can you farm for certain categories. You can't win too fast as either side since that isn't skillful or devs seem to think so, you have to either be equals or toy with the side you're crushing. Tbh I don't think devs devised ranking system to encourage skillful gameplay but rather "fun" gameplay.

Anyway as devs recently said balancing isn't based on kill rate but rather on how fun/fair certain mechaincs are. Take nurse for example, people disliked that she can rapidly snowball and fast blink all the time so they added cooldown to give more wiggle time to lose LOS. Same changes await Doc, I bet his passive sceam mechanic is going away when they change him since it's not "fun" for survivors to be revealed so easily.

  • I guess he was rank 1 right since survivors love to run into facecamping killers thus encouraging them to camp more. Or even better suicide instantly since it's not fun to give your teammates a chance to win.

And then they whine why killers camp when it's them who made it work so well.

  • Imagine if people started to ask for other broken killers like old Legion. Even if old freddy wasn't too hard to play aginst I hated him since he was the most anti stealth looping encouraging killer in the game.

  • Then the problem is in the matchmaking not in the dailies themselfs. Also their partiall purpose is to encourage players to try the other side sometimes.

  • Even when I strongly disagree with suiciding/quitting against any killer/survivor with any build I at least am glad that you at least try to help your teammates by getting chased.

Still better then those good for nothing survivors that just quit first second of the match when they either don't like the killer or get downed early or whatever. Urgh how I hate them.

  • Thanks for the advice. I didn't know that you can get protection hit while beiing next to a dying survivor.

  • Rainbow GF mask when ?

  • It is very good feeling but damm I wish devs just finally fixed/reworked protection hits. I like to run it from time to time but whenever I tank a hit for a survivor that's getting chased it almost never procs the stack for MoM.

Only reliable way that I found is through protection hits while killer is carrying someone which can be easily avoided by killer which sucks.

  • Their main purpose is doing just fine and that is to blind the killer to allow you to lose the chase. They aren't supposed to be only used for flashlight saves that have incredible impact on the outcome of the match.

Flashlight saves are supposed to be rare and hard to pull off since they are basically repeatable DS strike through item and we all know how impactful even 1 DS can be.

  • Yes, you now have to WIN pallets on new maps insted of getting 6 loops for free and a pallet stun as a bonus. Good survivors still have no problem on these maps since they know their and killer's limits. Who knew skillful gameplay was bad design that endangeres DBD's future.

  • STBFL is amazing and doesn't need any buffs imo and unrelenting can always get buffed in some creative way to make it good.

  • Not hitboxes my friend, it's called latency. Same goes for all unnatural hits that killers get and/or when they are taken from them. It goes both ways.

  • Survivor since their team cooperation skill cap is far higher and has far bigger potencial then any individual killer can have.

If hypothetically speaking both sides played perfectly survivors would still have the upper hand since numbers are on their side.

  • Instabuy, literally all of them if they were this good.

  • Maybe don't play until all offerings and addons/items get removed so you can have your "fun" games without any interruptions.

  • Great opportunity to improve juking skills. Whenever I get a lot of tunneling killer (even when it sucks to be tunneled) I start using juking builds.

Remember as long as you're the one tunneled, all pallets on the map are there only for you. Use them as much as you want to get any chance to lose LOS for long enough to drop the chase or do some fancy juke that will allow you to lose the killer. It's hard but when you pull it off it's extremely satisfying.

  • Agreed, people like that should be punished. They abuse DCing to avoid things they dislike such as strong killers or going down early.

Is the serum really available for 70 days? That's pretty dope if so. I thought it would be in the rift for like a week or something then be gone after

I think devs said so but Peanits would have to confirm to be 100% sure. But I'm quite certain that's how it's gonna work.

  • To not be tied to an event so that people with work can also earn the serum. This way you can earn your serum for whole 70 days.

  • Struggling should be the main concern. Imo dev's opinion on that struggling should feel uncomfortable is plain ignorant. I'd be so happy if they just removed it and let us hang on the hook in peace.

  • First they need to stabilize servers and after that is done they'll be implementing new features like The husk system.

  • Educate yourself and see that devs constantly balance the game for BOTH sides. Old NOED was nerfed, unrelenting+STBFL combo was also nerfed and many others as well.

    https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Patch

Yes it would be nice if devs finally adressed how brokenly strong SWF is and gave them some drawback while also buffing aspects of solo survivors but such changes will takes years to implement as is a tradition with DBD.

  • I guess you forgot about "fun" things killers used to have. Remember OG nurse with 3 blinks baseline with OG mori that instakilled without any previous interaction or good old NOED that lasted forever without any counterplay and a lot more. Also facecamping was like 10x more spread then it is today as well as tunneling since old DS was super bugged for a long time(and could have been dribbled) and killers had free reign when/if they finally caught someone.

I still don't understand what's so fun about old flashlights or BNPs. Like who's having fun in 2 min game or using flashlight that takes 0,1s to blind the killer, it was so braindead easy that only survivors who wanted to bully the killer could enjoy them.

Old DBD was horribly balanced and despite it having it's "fun" moments, it was extremely frustrating to play and today we are much better off.

  • People can just read the tutorial if they want to know.

  • In DBD fright always turns into annoyance. No matter how you design a killer or how strong you make them survivors will always get used to it. Best way is to make killers strong so they have a presence and giving them some amount of counterplay.

  • Tottaly agree, there is nothing that breaks my game experince so bad as quitters do. I wish we could get timeouts for people like that or at least a system in which people who DC are matched with other DCers.

  • @SpaceCoconut said:

This'd be another opportunity to ease up the grind by hooking us up with rift fragments in the dailies :)

That would actually be really awesome.

  • I personally loved last year's halloween event but people complained that side objective via the flowers caused the games to be far too focused on them (people not playing like they normally do) and thus ruined DBD for them until the event ended.

So now at least nobody has a reason to complain that people suicide/farm to rush the vials. DBD never does too much for the events so this is still pretty decent I would say.

Also the rift gives us 70 days to get the vials so that's actually amazing since nobody has to be dependant on the lengh of the event itself.

  • Helping your teammates is great and all sure but gens are far more important. Remember that if everybody plays like teammates are more important then all 3 solo survivors will immediately run to save the hooked person and stop doing gens which is a really bad idea. If nobody does gens, everybody dies in the end. Sometimes it's better to just do a gen and let your teammate hit struggle phase as long as you get a gen out of that trade.

But overall it's really based on situation. Sometimes you're far away so it's better to do a gen and sometimes you're close so it's better to go unhook. Good players can tell when it's better to go save or make a sacrafice so that more survivors escape in the end.

What else should they do? Selfcare? That's even more M1 holding. They take the way which contains the least M1 holding, and it's doing gens instead of selfcaring in a corner of the map.

Oh really, so you hold M1 purely on gens so that you can go into another game to do the same. Sorry that I don't see the point of taking the way that constaints least M1 holding since your next game will be completely the same old holding M1 if you refuse to do anythyng else. Maybe if survivors in high ranks put slightly less focus on holding M1 on gens (at least when they face M1 killers) then those killers wouldn't run full genslowdown builds.

If survivors are bored of holding M1 (even when that what 70% of survivor gameplay is about) then go start a chase injured or learn how to do proper stealth or play meme builds. There are many things you can do insted of holding M1 on gens but unfortunately best way to make any killers game miserable (while also beiing winning strategy for survivors) is to make a game last 5 minutes by purely holding M1 on gens without a care for anything else.

Best solution would be to either create new objective or make current M1 actions somehow more appealing.

  • It's funny, survivors complain that holding M1 is sooo boring but then when they play they refuse to heal or do totems or anything just so that they can do gens faster to go to another game and repeat the process. Maybe that's why killers use gen slowdown builds in the first place.

  • There isn't much horror mood to ruin left to begin with.

  • Yeah sure, killers are so strong and it's so unfair that 1 survivor isn't 100% self sufficient god that can easily solo 1v1 the killer. All you've pointed out is just crying for uncalled killer nerfs and brroken survivor buffs. Maybe you should realise that this is asymmetrical game and killer is supposed to be stronger then 1 survivor and that you just need to

  • Since I'm planning on buying more cosmetics in the future I will gladly buy the battlepass and get those AC back. Strategically speaking I'll be buying it after I reach the max level so that I can be sure I'll unlock everything.

  • Not that Nurses addons have been treated when will Billy/Leatherface get their addon changes and in LF's case buffs/changes ?
