Alright so let's play a custom and show me that counterplay. All the "reads" they did was you missing. The survivors have no input when it comes to slinger it's all on the killer.

All the "reads" you do vs nurse is only her missing. I already know that you don't care about current counterplay and dismiss it as "unfair guesses" so I won't bother discussing anything with you on this topic.

  • People who say he hasn't got counterplay tend to want easier counterplay that any mediocre rank 10 can pull off. I've had matches where I faced really good loopers that managed to read my shots and prolong the chase for a while, just because Deathslinger requires different mindset when outplaying him in chase doesn't mean he's got no counterplay.

If claiming that good deathslinger will never miss his shots no matter what survivors do then killers like nurse, spirit or even doctor are far superior in chase then deathslinger is. Adapting to deathslinger's chase mechanics is hard, that's why people want him nerfed to make it easier for them.

  • It was a staple on my favourite build but after it gets fixed I might just replace it with something else. It's still going to be good but it's losing the information part that was most usefull to me.

Pity really, I know it's not a nerf and just a bug fix but imao if it made the perk better then they could have just kept it. It's not like surveillance was too strong with it anyway.

  • Yeah and every survivor should have deja vu and this is not happening hard locked into their build just in case they would want to stack their meta perks too.

  • Deathslinger main so obviously Deathslinger.

Overall both are great killers, huntress is better at snowballing if the survivors play into her and deathslinger is more consistent in winning chases. Depends on the preference since both have strong sides but also weaknesses.

That was literally out of their control, not intended nor a feature. But hey, as long as that bug granted you free kills, its fine

Way to take an example. Point is, peoply cry whenever anything that benefits them gets changed so all changes, bug fixes or not are treated as buffs/nerfs.

  • Based on how much outcry was there after for example pallet vacuums or facecamping were removed and other "intended" survivor/killer features I would say yes, bug/exploit fixes are perceived as buffs/nerfs.

  • If anything other singleton maps need variations as well or an increase in appearance percentage to balance out other maps that have many variants thus get chosen more often.

  • Since best way to kill survivors is to prevent gens from getting done ? Slowdown perks are meta so any killer who wants to win will use them paired with good combo perks on their killer. The slower the gens, the better changes to kill survivors. You can never have too many good gen control perks.

  • Big killer are mostly easier to loop since you can see them over loops easier.

  • I feel like he's insanely basic. Another fast running killer into a hit. At least last few chapter were creative so something this basic isn't all that unexpected. I just wish we got something more creative then another power based around running fast and turning.

  • That's such a pity, I wish it remained.

That's not what I said you want to delete someone in the game before they can even get points. So in other words you want tunnel freely.

You dont really care about getting hit by DS when not tunneling (make it reactive when someone else Is hooked) it's the fact that you want to get someone out 2 minutes into the match. I cant feel much sympathy for you then.

Also saying just some get caught holds the same value as "git gud." Just dont get gen rushed would be the equivalent but I would get swarmed by killer mains which is understandable because thats not how that works.

20 seconds of pressure is still better than nothing you have a brea thing room that's 2 people off gens assuming you are chasing one is that not good enough for you?

If they are easy to catch yes, I'll remove them. If you think DS only protects survivors vs hard tunnelers then you're delusional. I don't see survivors getting punished for real by some killer perk for ending games in 5 min before killers gets any points.

I want to be able to punish mistakes, if survivor manages to run into me 1 min after getting unhooked I'm not tunneling him but he still gets to DS me. Same when I multi hook survivors and then one of them runs with his active DS to make a save, both survivors now have DS and I have wait or leave both beiing horrible options.

I need to really cut these off. Starting long debates over things that aren't even main focus of the discussion is so pointless.

You yourself just admitted to wanting to tunnel with no punishment. "When you could of already had someone on the hook if not for those perks." That's why this version of DS has the anti tunnel ability.

Once again like I said with bbq and leaving the hooked survivor you really wknt get to use the perk sure it can be strong in end game but as a killer you have to manage the amount of time the hook survivor has been unhooked so you dont get hit by DS.

Sure just because something doesnt happen often doesnt make it any less broken but you can completely ignore DS if you manage time.

25% of pressure is still pressure which is still better than nothing. Would you rather have no pressure since 25% isnt good enough for you?

Yes, both sides want to do their obj as fast as they can.

They can force it by working on gens etc.

You can evade mori if you and your team never get caught. Silly argument, it forces playing suboptimal, you're not evading it, you're wasting time in a different way.

25% for like 20s before them pick themselfs is very weak, they get away with wasting time or working on gens for free either way so it's a loss no matter the option you chose.

  • I love this so much, I've wanted new offerings (besides map ones) since 2016. This is so lovely.

  • @azame said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1547771#Comment_1547771

Green mori deleted someone from the game early which was a guarenteed loss. With ds/uh you can go whole games without using them by not tunneling. If you have bbq go for someone else you are now in chase with someone who doesnt have them active.

You gain slug pressure because someone is off gens. Like I said that fact is ignored for some odd reason. You dont need to babysit them and once their ub is gone slug em again more free pressure.

Them not getting used is guaranteeing suboptimal plays from killer, even switching targets is a waste of time when you could have already had someone on hook if not for those perks. That in itself can be stronger then getting their effects to activate, especially since you don't even have to have them equiped yourself to get part of their effects. I can easily say that I've had many games where I faced ebony mories that didn't get used because survivors looped and did gens faster then killer could use his mori. Just because something doesn't get used doesn't make it fine.

You are getting pressure of only 25% of the team which is hardly enough if you realise that you need to switch targets and that you aren't getting anything permanent from catching them in the first place. Overall it'll be more time lost them gained.

I'll stop derailing now, I've said my peace.

They are one time used. Also whataboutism. Against ds and unbreakable slug them. If you find another survivor force them back to the slugged person and now they cant pop unbreakable. Or just let them waste it once it's gone it's gone. Regardless of unbreakable you gain slug pressure which people seem to forget about.

Not to intrude since it's off topic but something beiing 1 time use doesn't justify it beiing oppressively strong. Green mori used to be 1 time use instakill without conditions and it beiing 1 time use didn't somehow justify it's existence.

Also how do you get slug pressure from someone who has unbreakable and can pick themselfs up when slug pressure come from forcing someone else off gens to pick them up. You'd need to babysit them for a whole minute to prevent the unbreakable which is game losing decision, you need to leave them and you won't be getting pressure from them since they'll pick themselfs up for free.

  • DBD would be so much worse if it went free. I can't imagine the insane surge in hacking and abusing everything since if you get banned you'll just download it again for free. It would be hell, enough to make me stop playing probably forever if it escalated too high.

We have more then enough players to sustain DBD so there's not a single good reason to go free without worsening what we already have.

  • I don't mind vsing good SWF if I'm playing strong killer that has fair chance to deal with them. If not then it's very frustrating since they'll play safe and rush gens with little imput from my side.

I've always supported the idea of giving solos more ways of communication or means to coordinate better and then buff all killers accordingly to deal with coordinated teams. It's probably the only way to balance SWF without penalizing it which would make it less desirable to use thus possibly makeing players leave.

  • These are probably some of my favourite outfits from skins I own of all time. Especialyl the wraith one is so cool imao.

    fav outfits.png

  • Huh, first guess would be werewolf but as I know devs, that would be too simple. I bet it's made like that to be misleeding.

In other words, it's a flying killer 100% you heard it here first.

  • Due to nurse's bugs and her newly added CDs, not many people bother playing her anymore. She's still extremely strong, it's just that she became far less fun to play so she's a rare one to face.

Pity, I loved to face good nurses, most entertaining games I've ever played were against nurse.

  • Even when reworks are nice and all, I'd rather get something different this time.

I just hope for large perk updates patch. Lucky break buff to make it permanent is long overdue.

  • That'd be the easiest way to fix Iri heads. Just force it to trump addons that increase hatchet count. 1 iri hatchet may still be a bit annoying to vs but it's definetly not brokenly strong so imao that would be fine fix. Better then reworking them into something useless.

  • It would depend where they're having duel. If it was foresty area that anna knows well she would have upper hand since she could get a suprise attack on him.

Any other place that would give caleb good vantage points where he couldn't be easily ambushed, he would probably win since if he spots her before she manages to make a stealth attack, a single shot from his redeemer to the head and she's dead.

  • Teams like this are near impossible to win with low-mid tier killers unless they do some horrible misplays. They'll just insta throw pallets and sit on gens, then leave. Chasing power is pretty much needed to outplay these safe pallet throws.

Yeah Tru3 could have played better but that doesn't change the fact that their gameplay revolved completely around safe pallet throws and extremely fast gens so they don't have face consequences of wasting pallets. Very interactive gameplay indeed.

I would be fine with such playstyles if people didn't complain about killers like nurse, spirit, deathslinher, PH etc "don't have counterplay" and need severe nerfs to be fair towards bad players who are unable to play on high level like these can.

  • @Artick said:

    1.Hooks are everywhere.

2.Survivors have to be smart and avoid a 3 gen situation which is very hard in solos. Killers also have to be smart and avoid creating deadzones with no hooks. But somehow that's too much for them. Sure, if you make it so randoms can't get in a 3gen you can have all your hooks respawn.

Hook are everywhere since they are main way to complete killer's objective. Problem is when you get maps with hills, floors, walls etc that mess with hook generation since it doesn't take into account the bonus distance created by the obstacles.

I don't have much of a problem with it, I'll just slug everyone and force them to bleed out if I can't hook them due to poor RNG. Problem is, that isn't much fun for everyone. I don't mind slugging everyone for 4 min but I'd rather get over with the game at that point insted of waiting 4 min jusrt cause.

  • @BaschFonRonsenburg said:

They aren’t permanent? I’m pretty sure they’re on an old 3 minute timer?

That's sabotage, I'm talking about when you complete survivor's sacrafice (kill them basically via hook) as killer, then the hook permanently breaks itself.

I'm guessing the file was too large for the system.

What does work and is probably quicker, upload the file to YouTube (you can keep it private/unlisted) and put the link to it in the report form, that works just as well.

Do I put the link as a file or somewhere else ? I just don't want to mess it up and be force into making another ticket.

  • If you get really good you'll have very high kill rate as killer but that's mainly due to DBD not giving you hardcore sweat teams every match that would be equall challenge to your skill level. I personally feel like my kill rate would be around 80% overall but I know that it's caused by the large amount of bad survivors I get, paired with me beiing seasoned killer.

It's easy to say or watch players with very high kill rates and call DBD killer favored when in reality it's just that people don't vs teams who would match their skill level which makes it look like they never lose.

It's the sweaty teams with all 4 good survivors that makes these high kill rate killers lose since the odds are more balanced in such match rather when facing solos with at least 2 potatoes that lose the match for survivor side of the trial.

  • Interesting, right now I've had 3 games just after hitting around 20th game with rank 20 new survivors and those last 3 games were extremely sweaty high ranked survivors.

Finally, good survivors to play against again, I can finnaly have fun again and improve (I hope it's not due to me playing late in the evening).

I really really hope that the 20 games limit for MMR is what caused it and not that I got lucky due to some random circumstances. Although 20 games for each killers sounds extremely high of a floor to match just so you can play with players on your level.

  • Because then we would be placed on more annoying cornfields. I wish other realms with just 1 map had around 5 like this one got in freddy's rework, much fairer to have maps spread out, not just 1 map per realm except the first few realms. I haven't seen hawkins or midwitch in almost 40 games but at least half of those were on corn maps or macmillan's estate maps.

Either that or change numbers on realms with multiple maps to have smaller modifier to show up.

  • Not getting downed by any means necessary and pumping out gens fast is what high ranked players should do, they don't have to be necessarily skillful in chases as long as they pressure gens. That's how DBD is currently designed to work, so I guess by the current design of DBD they are considered skilled players.

  • Wow, almost nobody here is hating vsing my main Deathslinger. That's a rare one to see.

As for killers I hate vsing, hmm I enjoy almost all killers (especially nurse, huntress and spirit) but if I had to chose probably trapper and hag. I'm a magnet for traps, even if it's in the open easily visible I somehow manage to step right into it especially vs trapper.

  • Yes, thank you very much. I hope MM is gettting some adjustments too soon, would be nice to face good players again.

  • Someone doesn't seem to realise how huge of a downside 5% MM speed decrease is. It's nowhere near old insasaw but it's at least decent now, not a complete meme build.

  • It would be nice if small updates like this were happening for perks once in a while.

  • I've played more then 10 matches (14 specifically so far) all on my main and all were 4k with just a few 3k mixed in. So far I've faced only new players wit exception of around 9th match where I faced fou rank 5s and killed all of them. New MM system keeps on throwing new players against me anyway.

I hope that after a few days of stomping new playrs I'll start getting old red ranks again if not, I'm out until this MM gets fixed since destroying new players isn't fun at all.

Tbh I feel like devs pushed it out broken already, I can't phantom why would the system keep giving me new players when I know there are good players around since I faced them before this system released. I really hope it won't stay like this for long.

  • @RaSavage42 said:

Is it 10 matches overall or 10 matches per killer?

It's 14 matches on 1 killer (my main so winning all of those) since it launched. All except 1 game had basically new players vs me.

  • @SocialDistomancy said:

the real question is, why would you complain about that rather than enjoy it while it lasts? I'd happily trade killer mmr with you. killer isn't gonna be fun any more, any dailies will never get done as well as half the rifts any more for me lmao. not even gonna bother until i've afkd at least 30 matches on favorite killer or two to fix the mmr hopefully and make challenges doable. It was always miserable enough before now being able to get nothing for it when using wglf and having faster queues as survivor i could as many BP so long as my survivor mmr doesn't turn out to be whack too. but actually better teammates as survivor 9 out 10 times means more bp even when I don't escape, since protection hits also work for wglf. I'd only need to afk killer, 1st hook suiciding survivor would probably make it a worse experience since I would hit an mmr where I would have to carry the special olympics which is a herculean task.

I get no enjoyment from slaughtering new players. It's like beating 5 years old child in arm wrestling, there isn't any competition so why even bother doing it. Who would have fun with that.

I was enjoying fairly good matches before this new horrible system that forces me into playing againt new players no matter how much I win. If it wasn't for Ace rift I wouldn't be playing at all since this system makes DBD unplayable fun wise for me. I'll keep playing for now but once iIve grinded enough of the rift and if matches don't get better giving me players on my level I'll be quitting DBD until it's fixed.

It was running in the background but it wasn't used for matchmaking at this time, so because of that the current MMR is not fully accurate as you've seen - which settles within around 10 matches (10 matches with each of your various killers)....the system has been out for only a short while.

@SpaceCoconut I believe all this will remain hidden, if people can see their MMR it will be pretty easy to figure out what increases/decreases it so it will possibly be open to abuse at that time.

You probably shouldn't even say that it would be easy to figure out if it was shown. That gives quite a few very plausible possibilities on why it isn't shown and what determines the MMR.

I also get the feeling that if it's there, players/dataminers will eventually figure out how it works. Maybe not but I would bet they will.

  • @sulaiman said:

But you don´t know if all of those survivors had their 10 matches, and thus be rated properly, or do you?

So a new player is supposed to face a seasoned one because they might have natural talent and somehow be gods on their first match ?

Sounds like a flawed system, new players with no MMR matches should be instantly faced with the lowest killers have to offer and not someone who keeps on winning with new MMR and is/was seasoned player before also.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

” Where did all the rank 1s go that I played before new MM, I want to face those again.” - Rank 1s are now busy dominating low rank killers.

Omg that hilarious since it would make sence. Insted of matching good players vs good players & bad/new players vs bad/new players, new MM started matching good players vs new players every match.

That would explain where did they all go, thanks for making my day.

  • @Pawcelot said:

Supposedly, 10 games are enough for the MMR to find you your spot in the matchmaking system.

Interesting since my game vs four rank 5s was around 9th. I don't see any changes or improvements during the "finding my spot phase" either, if it at least started giving higher ranks every time I won but it keeps on spraying new players on me.

  • Currently I'm slaughtering old rank 10-20s chewing through them in hopes that MM will start giving me better players again. I still in 9 matches as my main in which I've all killed all survivors didn't get a single game with at least 2 old red ranks. Constant spam of ranks 15-20 with few occasioanl ranks 10-15s.

I hope that their suffering isn't in vain and new MM is actually not settling at all. It's so boring to constantly face new players.

  • @Orion said:

We will still have the previous ranks displayed. Nothing's changed in that regard.

Agreed. I'll open a suggestion thread on the subject in a bit.

Are the old ranks used for matchmaking ? If so then that responce is valid, if not, they're as good as decoration. At least I have never seen a game with correctly working MMR system that is matching players from bronze with masters and calling it working properly.

Hidden MMR is the standard for competitive games, even when they place you at a particular rank (gold, silver, whatever). Which games do you know that only have a rank and no hidden MMR?

Honestly that all I'm asking for. I want to know my rank and how to reach it, I don't care what my MMR is specifically, I want to know where I am compared to other players be it gold, silver, diamon or whatever they would name it. Problem is as I said already that devs aren't telling us anything which isn't ok in my book.

1 … 36 37 38 39 40 … 63
