No, it's a perk to faster finish singular gen which is overall less meta strategy then doing 2 gens seperately.
It's a perk that directly buffs gen speed but all useful perks in some way grant gen progression. If you use Dead hard, you're prolonging the chase basically buying your team more gen progress indirectly. Just because PT does it directly doesn't mean it's too strong.
Main problem with gen speeds are the dumb random survivor spawns that can instaly put 4 survivors at 4 different gens, making it extremely easy for them to push first 2-3 gens. That paired with map balance obviously.
-
As for both sides, I consider it perfectly fine as it is. It's a hex perk which is supposed to have very strong effect with the risk of losing the perk completely early on.
As killer, it's a very good option for slowdown that still requires you to put in the work so it does anything. As survivor, if your teammates aren't going down every 30s, it's not too bad. Good players are far less hindered by ruin as they can keep up the gen pressure on a killer or just have totem spots memorised.
I wish other hex perks were as impactful as ruin, especially the bad ones like blood favour or croud control.
-
It's very personal as everyone finds different things annoying to go againtst.
For me it's trapper, I hate facing him with all of my beiing.
-
I love to play as him and also lo playing against him but I'm a weirdo who enjoy all killers with active chase powers be it, spirit, nurse, slinger, PH or nemeis.
-
This idea of yours is as foolproof as saying that survivors can 4 man escape each match if they all just loop killer for 5 gens.
-
It's not supposed to be fair, this is asymetrical game 1v4. The power role can deny you the match if they manage to catch you early and decide to put 100% of their focus on you.
If you want to play full match every single time, go play killer. With survivor, you run the risk of dying early should killer feel like focusing you and you failing to loop or evade him.
-
DBD is quite reasonable with their monetization. They release a lot of original chapters wich can be gained for free (grinded out) and even the irl money prices are fairly low on thier DLCs.
That's why the skins are kind of overpriced, they exist for people who care about the looks and are willing to pay for them.
I personally think it's pretty fair way of handling things. The only problem I have with it is that legendary skins need to have a lot of effort put into them (new voice actors, some new animations, portraits etc) which they've lately gotten better at but for 15$ they really need to push the quality to the absolute highest level to warrant the prize.
-
Because it's much easier for 1 player to get good at their role and have consistent positive results opposed to have 4 players all be good and also be put together into the same lobby. Survivors at the top tier gameplay are significantly stronger than any killer played at top tier level but only some 0,1% of survivor teams play at such level.
Luckily, you don't need to play at that level, you just need to be decent at playing survivor to beat almost all killers but in the end you're still only 1/4 of your team. If there's some meghead in your team who wastes resources and dies extremely fast, she's condemning your whole team to a loss. 1 bad player is far more detrimental to a team then 1 good player.
Just look at the stats and you'll see that killers like pig and freddy at the best in terms of killrate while nurse is the worst yet nurse is the best killer in the game. That shows that difficulty to play at top level is just as hard for killers as it's for survivors. Most killers are bad at nurse which lowers her killrate even whe she's the best killer. Same for survivors, playing them perfectly makes them near unbeatable for any killer but basically no survivors play at that level since it's difficult to reach that height of optimal gameplay (basically impossible in solo).
Simply said, survivors are 4, killer is 1. He doesn't depent on other 3 idiots messing up his match, making his lose by default.
-
Are we in another season of "what good killer perk should we nerf this time" and BBQ is getting targeted again.
I hope it survivors without any major damage or even better, none at all, it already so many counters and requires a hook to proc.
I honestly don't know why survivors want to nerf a perk that help incentivise healthy gameplay going for different survivors = not camping or tunneling.

Survivor bloodpoints are fine thought. Decent survivors can earn as much if not more than the killer.
Yes but who really cares is the increased them a bit. Good game for survivors earns about as much as for good game for killer but usually survivors have harder time getting a game where they do everything so that they can come out with even as much as 32k.
I would only welcome any change that earn players more BP, imo survivors could use a bit more then they have right now.
-
My god, even on topic that I mostly agree with you (that survivor BPs are lower then they should be), you'd rather punish killer's BP earnings insted of raising survivor's BP values which is the correct way to do it.
Why do you always have to turn in into "nerf anything that killers have" insted of thinking about a proper way to adress the problem.
I just with you could stop with the unwarranted killer hate.
-
Depens how well can you avoid his M1s and M2s. If you give him M2s easily then yeah, might as well not use the vaccine unless you're on death hook.
If you can evade his M1 forcing him to use M2 which you can delay also, it's a good idea to use the vaccine as long as he's often after you.
-
No, survivors are just overall bad at playing survivor. When almost every rad rank player either fails to loop the killer for any reasonable time or just gives up when upset, it's no wonder the solo experince is bad.
What survivors need is to improve at playing, better matchmaking so that bad survivors stay in the middle of ranks and solo que buffs that would improve the information compared to SWF.
More second chances to win the game for you when you fail will just cause that more bad players get to high ranks, thinning the layer of good survivors even more.
-
Surge's benefit is that you never have to waste any time on kicking gens which can sometimes waste important time you need elsewhere.
They're different perks with different situations where they shine, neither is superior but both are great regression perks. The only thing that surge can envy to eruption is that it triggers of all downs, not just basic attack ones.
-
I'd consider perfectly used sprint burst VERY SLIGHTLY better then perfectly used dead hard.
-
Agree, first we should start buffing really useless perk insted of nerfing good perks. Most perks that could be considered OP are just annoying so a couple of those could get a rework but I'd rather see buffs to weak perks insted.
-
Even just starting the custom match as a single player vs the most basic of survivor bots would be enough, programming killer bots isn't even needed, just give us basic M1 killer that doesn't use power.
DBD mobile had training mode for ages so it'd be nice if we could have the same with custom game.
-
no
-
He's very stong but he also has glaring weakness and playing him suboptimally will get you gen rushed extremely fast.
Most popular killers tend to be either the meta ones or simple ones.

And years of survivor nerfs, he went from a fair and fun killer to being very OP
When you call something OP it's basically always not a problem. Go make a thread about real issues insted of at best low B tier killer.
-
The amount of complains wraith gets lately make me ever more sure he's in a perfect spot right now.
It took years of small buffs adding addons to his basekit but finally, it seems he's hit the sweetspot.

you don't have to stay in lobbies if you they equip keys... You can choose to leave you know that right?
If I load in to a lobby as a killer, and I see they have keys you know what I do? I just press the leave button.
Last second switching is the responce to that.
-
Because devs need to overcomplicate things when it comes to keys. Mories = simple fix, increase hook number from 1 to 2. Same for iri heads.
With keys all they need to do is to change number that allows hatch to spawn to be always 5 gens. DONE fixed perfectly.
But noooo, it needs to be complex rework with new animations, mechanics or whatever they're doing all this time which in the end won't even adress the issues keys have.
I really can't wait to see what they'll come up with once the changes actually happen (hopefully in next 2 years) and fail when simple change to hatch spawning rules whould fix everything so easily.
-
So you don't like the fact that he's got some small semi-detection built in, next to fair chase power ?
Have you ever played against doctor ? He's got far superior tracking and power about as good as nemesis in chase, possibly even better.
-
You can work around that a bit that if you use the tech to increase his tentacle hitboxes.

Fair.
So it's got a lingering hitbox that seems to stay locked in that direction-- does it work even if you look away, or do you have to not move your camera?
Either way, it looks super jank and makes the tentacle whip basically a quicker, less committal Punishment of the Damned.
From my testing so far. If you move your camera it makes it either much more inconsistent or it just doesn't work. I'll be looking into it further tomorrow but I'm quite sure this is all there is to it.

Tentacle tech and not Techtacle?
I love you but let's keep this at least a tiny bit serious.

The frustrations come from the fact that keys still wasn't nerfed for almost half a years since the drastic mori changes. Now they're removing one of the only semi-counters to the most annoying item so people are rightfully upset.
Imagine if suddently flashlights couldn't do flashlight saves anymore. Just because they're rare occurence in your average match doesn't mean there wouldn't be a ######### storm of survivor complains over that.
-
I don't think many people will use it, it was 90s on PTB and almost nobody used it anyway.
If it permanently removed pools of blood, I'd be in love with it. This version even when possibly stronger, I just don't like.
-
I still don't like it and would rather have LB that only permanently removes blood pools.
-
Just👏make👏hatch👏spawn👏after👏all👏gens👏are👏finished !
(and also when only 1 survivors remains, possibly add small 3s animation too just to be safe)

His lunge is exactly the same lenght as before the movement speed buff, it was bugged which made it shorter but before the bug happened it was exactly same lenght as it is now. They adjusted uncloaking movement speed to match with the added movement speed of 150% so it wasn't buffed at all, he was like this for a long time just less mobile and far less popular.
Ofc once he got popular and people started to lose to him, the cycle reapeted itself and now he's suddently problematic and needs to be trashed again when he's only pretty decent killer, nowhere near the power level of actual meta killers.
Old Freddy was overtuned and deserved a couple small nerfs, new wraith is not on the level of newly nerfed freddy so no, he doesn't need any nerfs to anything. He's just fine the way he's now.
You counter him with basic looping when out of cloak, not saying out of position and his lunge by having good reaction time around pallets and windows. All the tools for fair counterplay survivors love so much are there, yet far too many still complain (overall, not this thread specifically) just because they can.
-
What exactly is so broken about it ? Is it possibly the fact that survivors can't split up to pressure gens or memorise totems spots properly.
You exaggerate as always. It's a good combo but it gets screwed over by RNG very often. Nerfing it further would just render is useless which I guess is exactly what you want.
-
No, keeping victor makes you very susceptible to ambushed, you're oblivious vs killer with permanent wallhack on you while unable to progress the match in any direct way.
Twins are already really strong killer. They don't need more lethality added to them.
-
It's personal We'll make it, not bad, not great. Won't be meta but rather a fun perk to use.
-
How about we buff extremely useless perks first before deciding about nerfing ones that are fine and don't need any adjustments.
These 2 are healthy perks that require clever gameplay to give any decent benefit unlike rest of the survivor meta perks that give second chances for free. There's 0 reason to nerf either.
-
As Ace main I'd say it's look pretty good.
The only little problem I have with it is that they've taken a bit of Ace's goatee away on the sides. I'd like to have that back but it wouldn't be big deal if they didn't.
-
Ok, single punch of his now instantly kills survivors. Better ?
Seriously, they obviouslyn needed to downscale him to make him work in DBD. Not that suprising.

It's not because Wraith is strong. It's because he feels cheap to people. I don't agree, but that's the issue. Same with Spirit and Freddy. It's because they feel cheap to face.
Yeah so do killers feel about facing god pallets that have 0 mindgames or risk to them. Yet devs won't suddently remove all god pallets just because they feel unfair to play against.
-
What ? Since when. If so that's really stupid.
-
First things first, just let use start custom match with 1 player and add bots to the matches that are actually working.
God damit even if it had to be monetised in some way, I would even go the lenghts to pay for good well designed, deep custom game mode. I really really want it.
-
People just hate any strong killer they play against often enough and thus lose often enough, they'll call anything unfair, overwhelming, no counterplay, overtuned etc. Just look at the recent rise of "Wraith needs a nerf / is OP" threads.
Deathslinger just stuck to people as strong killer that can't be easily beaten and he wasn't nerfed since his realease so when when mildly now, they still hate on him for beiing "unfair in chase" even when that's counterbalanced by him beiing bad at everything else.
I love facing him as I do with almost all strong chase killers. I'll be sad if the day his power gets gutted (meaning they'll ruin the fluency and danger of it even if they buff him in othe ways) ever comes both as playing him and against him.
-
RNG screwing over either side happens quite often. Nothing new here, sometimes it does to killer, sometimes to survivor.
You used to to do better.
-
They underperform since most red rank survivors fail at basic fundamentals of survivor gameplay and can't loop for #########.
If red ranks actally played like red ranks and not like rank 20s, they wouldn't underperform so much.
-
Every killer can beat most red rank teams if the player is good, that doesn't suddenly make the killer better then many other killers superior to them, in this case both huntress and slinger.
Trickster isn't terrible after the latest buffs but I still consider him inferior to other ranged killers. You're free to like him and think he's viable vs 4 great survivor players but you won't persuade anyone without actually facing such teams first.
If you feel like you're the best trickster out there, go ask Otz and his survivor team to play a couple matches vs you, it'd be fun to watch certainly and he might actually do it since he's Otz.
-
No matter what, once killers gets enough buffs to get out of the gutter be it Freddy or Wraith, survivors will inevitably complain about it. They don't care if there are still far superior killers that might actually be problematic, needing a few changes since they're losing to wraith right now.
Current wraith is good, finally after years of slightly buffing him and always taking something away as well, he's finally pretty good. That of couse means, it's time to complain till he's terrible again. I'm not talking about this post but about the general idea that any killer that gets buffed enough to be good suddently gets hate for beiing good.
It's silly and unreasonable, wraith is good but by no means can he deal with competent survivor team. His lunge is just enough to get him enough distance to again reach a survivor that's running away from him directly, it's certainly not a good antiloop tool. Slightly better pig's ambush which is considred quite garbage and easy to outplay.
Nothing about him is unfair and he's finally got a good spot between other stealth killers, beiing the one with mobility but least lethality.
This wave of complains about wraith is just dumb, people complain for the sake of complaining, he's near the same as before with best addons. The main thing that changes that his long standing lunge bugs were fixed and he became more fun to play which made him also more popular, making survivors face him more often and thus lose more often to him.
I wouldn't be suprised if devs budged and actually nerfed him to trash wraith again. Hopefully not but with the amount of complaining one never knows.
-
I've played a couple games with players named @Blueberryand @Orion but each time I asked if they were a DBD forum member they said no so I I'd say I haven't or don't remember anyone else.
-
In a certain way yes but probably not the one you think.
In my opinion, current overheat should be rebalanced into also an overclock mechanic. Meaning once you hit certain thresholds (50%, 75%) you begin to get bonuses like faster charge, faster mm speed, more CD reduction all together since to use a saw at that state risks you getting overheated and going on a massive CD.
That would imo be the best way to balance current billy.
-
I think we'll see the 3rd mori rework sooner then the first key nerf. It's incredible how long they're taking with the key changes.
-
They're work in progress, nobody can tell you as nobody from community knows and no dev is allowed to say.
