  • For me the coolest lore is PH's. It's hinted that he's literally in Entity's realm to punish her via starving her of emotion which is the only way to hurt the entity we know of.

He's making holes into her realm through the torment trails, allowing power of Silent hill seep through to let him use the cages and final judgement so that entity doesn't get as much nourishment from the trials.

I'm so glad I wanted the video by Pixel bush entertainment which analysed PH's lore in DBD, making me realise how fitting and elaborate it is.

  • Ok this was wholesome and I didn't expect it.

  • I think it's perfecly fine. A perk that can give you such massive mm speed bonuses as 5-15% needs extreme downsides like losing stacks after each attack.

Besides, it's the ultimate perk for tombstone myers builds which alone justifies it's existence. On special ocassions, instadowning killers or wraith can get good use out of it too.

I think that perk is one of the few that has hit the sweetspot already, not needing any changes at all.

  • I've played since release and still do, having one piece of legacy as well. DBD is still really fun to me so there's no reason to stop playing.

  • Custom match with simple bots that doesn't require 2 players to start.

  • image.png

Body is 1 character too short.

  • Any killer who has a good shot at beating really good 4man survivor team as long as the killer plays extremely well.

From my own biased view I consider Deathslinger quite well balanced, any change to him can either trash him or make him overpowered.

He's a chase specialist that's so good at one thing that he needs disadvantages at everything else which balances him out. Amazing slinger can beat even the best of survivor teams while bad one can be looped for 5 gens. That's a well balanced killer in my eyes.

  • You can find out using math if you go to DBD leaderborads ( https://dbd.onteh.net.au/ ) select to sort players by playtime and scroll down through 111 139 players that are recored there, stopping when you get to a first player with 999h.

It shows only players with steam though so for consoles you'll never know.

  • I've enjoyed reading through your comments since steam forums, agreeing with them very often.

I'm glad you're still enjoying your time around forums Orion. It'd be much more void without you here.

  • If you're healthy, he's not really threating at all so do your best to not give him any free hits. In terms of basic looping, he's very mediocre and quite easy to outplay if you understand how he works.

Basically, do unsafe gens where you can't get good LOS first so that your team doesn't sruggle later on when there are less pallets to stop him. In terms of looping, abuse windows when he's cloaked and if needed just throw pallets in his face as he can't do anything about it besides eating them.

  • Have you considered that you might not be the best survivor player if you find playing survivor difficult.

The main thing difficult about playing survivor is having MM give you decent teammates who don't suicide into killer. When survivors play well, killer is significantly harder and more stressful then playing survivor.

  • You could consider it so as many other classified SCPs are beiings from different dimesions that in some way prey on humanity.

  • Is it intended / approved by devs ? If not, it's a bug/exploit and should be patched out.

  • You'd lose the same in chase to trickster yet he's terrible so people's problem is with overall power level, not the chase alone itself as he's not even remotely as complained about as spirit is.

She needs a nerf but in the feedback she gives, not in a way that would weaker her power passively without survivor imput.

  • Isn't 12s duration like almost 50m of distance ? That's far more then enough to reach almost any pallet or a window on any map unless you're literally trying to bodyblock the killer and then don't have time to get to it safely anymore.

  • He was so fine before that he was considered one of the worst killers before his recent buffs and still isn't ranked very high.

    Very fine indeed.

  • Sounds like a pretty good build to me. If it's working for you and you're having fun with it then there's nothing to improve on.

Also welcome to the forums. Hopefully your time here will be pleasant.

  • I've just finished them all this last month after not doing them for nearly 5 years. What a great timing.

  • In looping ? By miles, he's next to nurse and spirit with power of his antiloop.

In mobility, stealth, basic 115% MM speed ? No, he's much worse at everything else. Do these matter as much as strong chase power ? Debatable

Overall, I would say he's high B tier or low A tier (pretty much as in Otz's tier list you can check out on YT) which is higher then wraith considering most people place wraith around C tier. Both killers are great nowdays, they play differently, wraith is quite weak in chase while beiing able to get a lot of stealth hits. Slinger dominates chase so much (when played perfectly) that he needs drawbacks like low mobility etc to slow him down.

I'd say play a killer you enjoy using the most as all killers even the ones in bottom tiers can do just fine in average red ranks matches. I main slinger because I love his playstyle. How fluent and threating he is at chasing with great amount of precision and quite a bit of tactical thinking going into him.

If you won't enjoy playing him then it doesn't matter if he's good since you won't have fun anyway.

  • He can end chases extremely fast but you still need to play attention where you do those chases. Preferably, stick nearby a good 3 gen or just generally don't leave the gens you need to pressure for too long without beiing certain that survivors won't be brave enough to do them since they're injured or in DW.

Sometimes you can't do much if survivors perfectly split on 4 opposite sides of the map, at that point you have to play dirty and do some slugging/camping/tunneling so that you can have a chance.

Generally I wouldn't worry too much about winning/losing but insted on improving your aim and understanding of slinger's chase. Once you're really good at landing basically all of your shots you can beat near any red rank team you encounter.

  • Good job on that, it was an exploit which deserved to be removed.

  • I've been promoting this change since the overheat was added. Hopefully devs will add it evenutally.

@Bwsted That can easily be solved by appling these bonuses at the start of the chainsaw chargem, not during it while also setting up thresholds for the bonuses at 50% and 75% overheat for example.

  • Do your best to not give him blood fury for as long as possible. Once he has it, good Oni is near impossible to loop for any extended duration unless you throw pallets like crazy which is a loss in itself.

Luckily, there aren't that many good Onis out there so you can try and do some tricks with windows, sharp angles around loops, tricky unpredictable movement etc. That should usually work on your average rank 1 Oni.

  • It's sad but that's how DBD is for both sides when faced with opponent that bring all the advantages to average match. It's not necessarily toxic to do so as long as they're not rubbing it into your face (which they are far more often then not) but that doesn't make it any less frustrating.

I usually quit for the day when I had a match like this. But I like DBD a lot overall so I always return and forget about the bad games and insted focus on the good ones.

  • Don't you know ? No killer in A or B tier is fair since they have decent chance to beat even some of the best survivor teams.

That makes them inherently unfair obviously.

  • Hmm I think I there was some talk there's going to be two killers but that was quickly dismissed by the fact BHVR barely manages to develop 1 functioning killer in 3 months. 2 might be pushing it too hard + the quality would drop tremendously as they'd need to split resources over 2 complex characters.

I'd prefer us getting 1 well developed killer insted of 2 underdeveloped.

  • OoO's main effect is showing you aura of the killer when yours is shown - for example he sees you with BBQ, you see him too, he sees you with nurses, you see him too.

The obsession gets the added effect that every 30s your aura is shown to the killer which causes you to see them as well even if you don't look at them.

Same happens if you're affected by blindness which impaires you aura reading so you can't see killer each tic of those 30s but he can see you since his aura reading isn't impaired.

  • No as they don't give you anything that you already don't have. It's kind of QoL "cheat" for people who can't visualize the middle of the screen that well.

Stretch res, brightness filters, exploits of controls etc is what I consider cheating that should be fixed / prevented.

  • But that's a large part of OoO existence. You're basically saying by using that you don't mind sharing your position in exchange for killer's. That leads to killer focing you more then other survivors as he knows where you are all the time so he can chase you consistenly.

I'd advise if you can't take the heat, your probably shouldn't use OoO as it promotes you getting tunneled.

  • Surveillance has been going downwards since they fixed the "bug" that causes it to show fully regress gens as white. I miss that version of surveillance so much, it just wasn't the same for me since.

  • "I have yet to see a team beat an abusing Rank 1 Wraith with Tinkerer and Ruin."

Wow, those are exactly the kind of teams that cause rank 1 kill rates are so high. Playing survivor sure is hard isn't it when a rank 1 team struggles vs wraith.

Also, reject logic, embrace the kill rates as correct method of balacning DBD.

  • Plague is really hard to play, she doesn't need buffs as much as she needs players who play her well. Very few players manage to actually get decent worth from her corrupt purge and it takes them ages to down with it.

  • Rank doesn't matter because a team of four rank 1 players can be terrible while another four rank 1 team can be gods at everything. Just because a survivor managed to farm easily farmable emblem points doesn't mean they're good.

Difference between team of four 200h rank 1 players vs team of four 3000h rank 1 players is massive.

But there isn't anything in DBD that would rank them in a different spot, they're both just rank 1s even when one side has players far better then the other one.

  • Sprint burst is always great no matter what if you're using it properly.

Adrenaline on the other hand is extremely risky perk to use is solo que. In SWF it's extremely powerful because they can coordinate it and time gens around it.

I'd say if you were to pick only one, it's always sprint burst unless you're playing in SWF. Adrenaline is more of a meme perk in solo que as most of the time it won't do anything useful for you, it has it's moments where it's really good but those are rare.

  • It's not good idea to hide like that when you're in solo, at least one of your teammates won't do this properly which will give killer incredible amount of early game pressure. It's far better idea to just power through it as solo.

SWF on the other hand can do this strategy very easily but most of the time they don't even bother if they're all competent at looping.

  • Keys aren't problem only if you face terrible survivors who fail to do any gens the whole match just like old first hook mori wasn't a problem if you faced a bad killer who failed at most chases.

With any competent team (even solo easily), it's basically hard tunnel the keys users, hope nobody else picks the key up or give 3 free escapes because the moment you gain momentum either a 3 gen or kill 1 survivor, they get to just bypass their objetive and all escape with a key. All the power is in survivor's hands, killer can't do anything vs competent key users.

Current mories are significanlty weaker then keys which should be rectified by making the hatch spawn only when all 5 gens are finished or when there's only 1 survivor alive. That would make them equally strong to mories unlike now.

  • I bet this will be coming back, it's probably just a bug.

  • People failing to use it properly isn't he perk's fault.

It's amazing perk that spares you a lot of time if you use it well depending on in which state the match is.

  • Geez, how many of you people faced old flashlights again ? The ones that completely covered your whole screen in extremely bright white at the time when DBD was extremely dark overall with basically no bright maps at all, not even a little.

That was bright and it existed for several years burning out eyes of many killer players.

This is nothing but gorgeous medium brightness.

  • Great work by the artists ofc but it would be nice if for once a male survivor outfit won the contest. I'd be nice if they at least let us see all the admissioned concepts, that was the best part of the design your own cosmetic for me.

It's such a pity we don't get to see them anymore.

  • Ok

    *progresses to complain about everything*

  • Old tomes don't give rift fragments. Only the new current tome that released alongside the new rift gives rift fragments until the rift closes, then it loses the rift fragments part of the rewards and keeps only BP.

If you care about leveling your rift, do only the new challanges.

  • I think only Dave and Mathieu can answer that. Good question for any future Q&A.

I never understand what these posts mean by; save bloodpoints. Do you mean just the easiest way to finish it, or the fastest. Would the best way not be just to do every challenge? Is this taking into account items or add ons needed to do some of the challenges.

Sorry if this was confusing, hopefully someone can clear this up for me.

People use the finished challenges to save their BP awards for when the chapter arrives so they can use them all at the same time. It's mainly for people who have most things they want already unlocked so they don't need to spent it anywhere else.

Well probably because the game has been dark for the past 5 years...

I hope this starts the new era then. I love bright maps so much and just remembering how dark the OG DBD was makes me dizzy.

  • Why do people complain about the brightness so much, whenever anyone ever complained how for example old Gideon used to be too dark, most of the people here said "It's fine on my screen, just use filters if you don't like it".

Bright maps are far superior to dark ones, there's very few things as annoying as map you can hardly see anything on (especially when you add mend effect to it).

For once we got extremely thematic map that is also bright among basically all other either dark or medium brightness maps. I hope more maps get as bright as new farm maps, they're great.

  • That would be frustrating to play, a lot.

  • In my mind it goes someting like this: "I hate beiing a trap magnet, I hate being a trap magnet, I hate being a trap magnet. GOD CAN I PLAY VS ANY OTHER KILLER PLEASE !?!"

That's why I dread the day trapper gets buffed, the worst possible outcome him actually getting popular or meta. That would be the day I'd have to stop playnig survivor until it dies out.

  • @Zixology Doing something wrong is all solo surivors know how to do. If you don't like playing with bad teammates that much, find yourself a 4 man SWF.

People in solo que are terrible most of the time, farming is the smallest of terrible things solo survivors fail at or do.

  • Thanks 👍️
