"Survivors doesn't need perks to play but killers does. "
Let me think about this one...
Yes they do.
-
I wouldn’t really call something competition if it doesn’t really have an equal chance of “winning”.
I am as excited as the next person for VHS (idk about Propnight, looks like a DBD for kids to me) However, that doesn’t mean that VHS or any other possible competitor will fulfill my every need when I want to play as Myers or play Chris, Jill, Nancy, the list goes on…
Basically what I am saying is don’t expect these games to come out and you see DBD start to fulfill your wishes. Because competition only comes when they have proven themselves as such. They gotta pay their dues first and establish themselves as a game first.
DbD is ahead of the pack but also just because I chose to play another game, doesn’t mean I stop playing DBD, just limiting my already ginormous amount of time I spend on DBD. So for me, both will be winners because they both offer something different.

hashtag UNLINK!
-
Wait, but I thought killers did this when the gens are getting done too quickly? Not when there is still 5 gens left? 😳
-
I like the new upgraded graphics much better.
The old ones were not as polished and you can tell some of the textures look very amateurish in comparison.
-
It depends on the skill of the killer vs yours…
AND…
The dependability of teammates being able to be effective alone makes survivor more stressful for me. Because if there is one thing that as killer you do not have to worry about is depending on somebody else. You are your own boss so to speak.

The Game is a heavily survivor-sided map. Not sure if you're arguing that somehow switching it up and trying to hook people non-sequentially would somehow give you a better chance of winning The Game. Whether you tunnel, or try to split the pressure and find someone dumb enough to not have an escape plan to a safe pallet, it only reinforces why killers tunnel in the first place. The only difference is that The Game is even moreso a "Survivor's match to lose" than other non-egregious examples.
“It only reinforces why killers tunnel in the first place”
Im sure it had nothing to do with their lack of skill. 🙄
-
Here we go again…
Why don’t we start saying ALL players should start being nicer to each other? It isn’t a one sided issue and it will never be.

Yeah, sorry, you're wrong.
Tunneling works, it's well documented and not really up for debate. And survivors don't get to choose the Gen layout, the map does. Survivors on gens also don't get to choose the loop path of the tunneled target, the killer and tunnelee do. Killers can tunnel and to an extent accomplish secondary goals like I previously described.
Not mutually exclusive.
Good luck tunneling in The Game, where every pallet is pretty much safe.
Add to that Shadow Step and a survivor taking a hit for their teammate, and that survivor being tunneled will have a ball.

That is not the most efficient kind of tunneling. There are other things happening in a standard tunnel:
- The killer is proxying the hook while identifying gens that they can interfere with
- The killer is looking for options to force health states and pallet drops so that when they go back to the original survivor, the other survivors and the environment cannot assist them
- The killer is looking for an even easier target. Not all potatoes are created equal
- The killer is preparing for a potential hook swap so they can maximize the damage while they go back to the original survivor
- I'm sure there's more. I'm not an exceptional tunneler (Yet!)
Effective tunneling is not what you described, and not what killers defend.
You cannot interfere with a gen, if you are tunneling. Most smart survivors will split the gens at that point and even the most potato teammate will throw down every pallet they find.
All I am saying that tunneling gets you a 1k at best, unless the team falls for the bait. In which most cases new people will, but people who know the drill won’t.
I would rather lose with a 2k and 9 hooks than with a 1k and 2 -3 hooks.
-
I don’t think you realize how tunneling is a bad strategy. That is a lot of the reason why killers get “genrushed” because they focus on the one person, turn around and 3 gens pop in their face. Then they want to complain because they felt like they got genrushed.
I am not saying there aren’t instances in which yeah, it does work…. But to tunnel the first person you lay your eyes on just “because “ it’s recipe for disaster.
-
Use whatever perks you want.
They sound to me like the type of killer who will never be happy until they always get a 4K.
-
I loved the map. I never had issues as killer or survivor playing it. In fact it was one of the better maps for some killers like Michael.
-
More money.
-
He is not OP by any means. As for unpopular? Idk I see him more often than Hillbilly at this point.

You can never compare the playstyles/ability of someone that plays this game professionally to anyone else.
Same thing when people claim its survivor sided because X streamer escapes most of their matches.
The game started off survivor sided but has had a lot of changes over the years and currently (definitely prior to boons) is the easiest killer has ever been.
With all that said, the power is still where it has always been: "Comp" SWF>Killer>Solo.
So does casual players only matter when they are killers then?
Because as far as these forums go, they think that devs shouldn't be balancing for the casual player.
-
Oh I didn't know this. I've never really used SG or Thrill, so that's good to know!

Grades only display the amout of time you played since the last reset. They don´t represent skill.
What I was implying is that they often get out more, because they are less willing to take aggro. If you pip your grade goes up. If you escape out your MMR goes up.

You must play in low mmr, I assure high mmr players do not have this issue. Any one who says different, isn't high mmr.
Try again. Red grade players do this a lot.
You realize that the immerse people are probably getting out more, which means they are getting carried by others all while their MMR goes up.
-
Hmm I take it you must not play soloQ survivor?
I’ll give you a little glimpse. These are your teammates after a long chase, and the answer to why gens didn’t pop.

@Akumakaji said:
I honestly have a hard time (without accusing anyone specific) believing all those "I play killer and survivors equally and I have no problem getting 4ks while playing casually".
Apparently it's just "SBMM doing its job". I guess that a lot of this people haven't really experienced the killers side in a meaningful way, besides doing a daily ritual here or there. Playing survivors a few days opened my eyes to how aweful real tunneling feels. But really aweful SWF stomp groups won't show up just at the casual low ranks.
Sorry if this comes over as entitled or salty, for I am not salty at all.
I think much of the balance of DBD is subjective and mostly tied that person’s own experience. So for some people playing “sweaty” is playing normal, for others playing “casual” is playing bad, and for the ones that don’t care “casual” is normal mode. Etc.
I believe there is an in between, and also the balance changes based on skill of the person and perks brought. Not because the perks are not balanced but because of the RNG-based concept DBD has. Where you could bring something that doesn’t even help you in the situations you are about to face, because, there is no way of knowing them ahead of time.
I have had so many matches where a killer might have brought a nasty slow down build (they do exist). Survivors were still able to push gens even though it might have taken forever and the killer still thought they were “genrushed” even though they might have gotten 9 out of the 12 hooks. That to me is illogical, the same way I consider someone who has not tried playing survivor speaking on survivor perks, and vice versa… illogical.
Anyway, the point is they want the system to hit the sweet spot, but I personally don’t think that will be possible all the time. Considering that RNG plays a big part (maps, set ups, gen/totem/hook spawns, casual vs non-casual, etc.)
-
Survivors have voiced their opinions but to me it has always seemed like there are more killer players than there are survivor ones that frequent the forums.
That is the general assumption from the outside in, and why the forums have become sort of a meme. Similar to Reddit.

Definitely, however. Won't stop you from getting gen-rushed. Like me lol
Idk, usually they either end up with 2 gens left before everyone is dead. Or I all the gens done and everyone is dead.
I am not saying you can’t be genrushed because there are teams who are strictly M1ners but lack in the chase department.
Currently I have a solid build with Lullaby in it, which had Corrupt and I’ve just replaced it with Scourge, and so far it’s working out.
-
I agree with maps working against some powers. Pyramid Head suffers from the same issue.
I wish they would make it so we are able to place the crows based on our camera angle. I tried several times to see if it worked by looking up, but it still went straight through. 😂

Because you posted something that questioned my quitting. I really am quitting, and I don't need you to cast doubt over it. So yeah, I'll be back in 1 week with a screenshot and quote you.
If you truly were quitting you would just do it.
No announcement needed.

That is not a good play. At all.

9 users beg to differ.
Yeah the same handful of people who constantly complain about it.

I’m only running Scourge and I find it pretty solid by itself. I find it much better than Pop.

I wish they revealed whether people are SWF post game, so many people would realise how many SWFs they do decimate. Because most SWFs are dogshit - mediocre lol
That's the funny thing, most people assume it's swf because they got stomped.
I've had many people accuse me of communicating things, when I did not. I simply played the game the same freaking way I do with my friends.

Now you can use it to dodge a hit, as it should.
But using it for distance? In your dreams.
Yeah, and while they are at it, add more distance because then this perk becomes useless.

Nah, i have been on solo teams where everyone had kindred. The killer did not have a good time.
Yeah, well I have yet to see it become common in my matches.
I don't see how information helps someone who doesn't understand or grasp fundamental parts of the game.

If the killer is truly idling on the camped survivor it should be an easy save right?
In any game of players vs players everybody cant win right? There has to be a loser, there's nothing wrong with that, but i dont know why people can accept that simple fact.
You cant dictate what's the fair or correct way to play, as long as no one is cheating everything's fair game right?
The devs have said that there's no reason to report camping or tunneling so there's nothing wrong with doing those things.
If your argument is "you can't win every match" then that is where I check out. You are not listening or even trying to listen.
Nobody is trying to dictate anything, but if someone feels that something is not right, then voicing that opinion is all they have. It is not for you to understand.
Where did I say Camping was cheating? Again. Just shows your lack of acknowledgement from the other side.
Yeah the devs have said there is no reason to report camping, but when did I say that they said otherwise? I said in other games unbalanced playstyles are looked into, meaning balanced out. I am talking about them promoting a more fun healthy playstyle while keeping the strategic camping there.

I'm entirely over people blaming the killer, in that situation your teammates are put into the position to make the save.
The person getting caught first should maybe choose to hide since its not always "bad play". You cant say they didnt get to play, they played and got caught and punished for it, either by not being able to loop long enough for gens to get done or lose the killer.
I mean, you can be as over it as you want. Face-camping a survivor out while idling is a core issue and only makes the game look really really bad.
The game is meant to be fun. If you think killers do that have their reasons then explore those reasons through feedback and solutions. So they can feel like they can have fun too.
The thing is not every single killer is doing it to satisfy their needs on strategy. They do it as a form of BM. Even though technically they are not winning. In every other video game where a killer was cheesing out a playstyle the devs have done something about it. I don't know why it should be any different here.
-
It's not a trash play if on their end it was an intentional play.
That's like saying Spirit Fury is a trash play because the killer swings even though they know they aren't getting stunned by a pallet because they get a a stun-free get out of jail card.

Maybe don't start repairing the first gen you see. Maybe have people that haven't been hooked take agro? Maybe stop complaining that the roles whose goals are opposite of yours is ruining the game because they are doing their literal job...
Context is everything.
If you can't see how face-camping the first person is bad for the game then I don't know what to tell you.
It doesn't matter how you feel about Camping, that person never got to play the game. Those matches are boring and I don't see how anyone can consider that a "strat" at that point, because a strat would suggest that the person wants to win. 1k is not a win. Staying idle at the same hook is not earning you points. I.E. You are not playing the game.
It is a broken playstyle and if it wasn't the devs wouldn't have looked into changing it in the past. Nobody is saying to get rid of it, but there is a point where it is not used as a strat. It is flat out abusive. You only have to play killer to understand that.

No Ed
It's cheap, and I am not cheap.

Survivors need to be held more accountable for their own actions and the actions of the team! 👏
Don't blame killers for doing what? KILLING!
And what action is that? Existing in a match so you are the unfortunate soul that gets caught first?
I guess survivors should just toss a coin and see who gets caught first! Because accountability.
-
@Zozzy said:
You think 4 people knowing the killers every move with synergised perks and maximum gen efficiency in a game balanced around people standing in a corner picking their nose for a while is fun for the killer?
Hmm🤔
The complaints are not aimed at the "i have friends" strawman, they are aimed at bhvr pretending SWF doesn't exist and not toning it down or bring solo players up at a base level NOT THROUGH PERKS!
Unfortunately you would have to have solo queue survivors go through a "How to be efficient and reliable" course in order to bring them to swf level of efficient and reliable. Because that is what solo queue survivors lack.
-
@asirirsprime said:
This game is not balanced around SWF. As long as it is a thing, complain never ends, because games are unfairly balanced this way
That probably would have been a thing a long time ago. But the game is something entirely different now, than it was back then.
-
I think anyone who has been face-camped understands how awful it feels to play that part over and over during matches.
I play both sides and I try not to "face" camp because it feels like a cheesy playstyle and I am not earning my kill.
Devs could/should do something to make every kill feel more rewarding rather than give someone a kill who primarily stood idle waiting for pressure to come to them rather than they doing it themselves.
It's a boring less than impressive playstyle. Those who play killer at a different skill level know this.
-
I've had people do it from the beginning of the match, so I am not surprised they still do it at the end of the match.
I understand some survivors can be awful and want to BM , but some killers are really dying to stoop to that same level. No amount of BM is going to make me give it back to you in the form of a bleed out. I would rather hook you and still win. I just don't have that kind of time.
-
It's effective against her in short loops. You can shut down a loop by summoning a crow pointing in the direction of the path the survivor might take to run around the loop.
The only thing standing between the survivor and her, is the idle time on the crow itself, plus not to mention many survivors will leave the loop at that point.
-
Idk, I still see them once in a while.
For me it goes something like Plague-Doctor-Deathslinger-Spirit-Blight not particularly in that order but.
-
They're in his locker.
-
Not a fan of basekit Kindred. Kindred is brought multiple times (as a perk) only to watch teammates twiddle their thumbs and ponder about doing a gen or crouching behind a rock, while leaving a teammate to reach 2nd phase hook or to die.
-
Wow, the feedback quality in these forums has really gone down hasn't it?
We are now resorting to... "they hate us".
