And just because you are inexperienced and have no idea what you are talking about doesn't mean it isn't.
Like the inexperienced killers who do not know how to deal with DH. Gotcha.

Yes it would be a big downgrade from the current dead hard but this change would keep the strongest aspect of the perk which would be for distance. I don't think there will be too big of a net loss
It is an unnecessary change considering that the distance advantage is only found in certain tiles. Unless I am mistaken not every map has tiles where DH's small distance does not do much. In fact we do have pallets where DH doesn't do anything at all for the survivor. Thus it balances out.

Responding to a comment is hi-jacking? No it's called participating in a discussion, that's what forums are for right. Then you started going on about window fakes, totally off topic.
Stop beating a dead horse. I am no longer discussing with you.

Problem: with the fix to validation, it's now regularly possible for the survivor to use DH only when an attack would otherwise connect (hackers with auto-Dead Hard scripts show this off the most, though unlike most hacks it's humanly possible). Then we get the additional problems with fake hits etc. on top of that.
The more general consensus, here and from streamers, seems to be that it's not balanced for a perk to be something you play around (by sacrificing time in not attacking to try and bait it out) whether or not it's there, and then even if you do that it can still be held in reserve for a last-second dodge.
Which is the normal complaint about other survivor perks; not just that they're good second chances, but the part where their very existence and common use requires playing around when they're not there, essentially giving everyone not using them a ghost perk or two.
I mean I have watched both sides tell a story when it comes to streamers. There are those who think it is fair and those who do not.
Bottom line is that most of the complaints I see on here are "You cannot bait it out in a specific loop". Ok? That IS how the perk is supposed to work. You aren't suppose to be able to counter every single scenario out there. What is funny is that the same one keeps being brought up when like I said previously, there is an array or perks and playstyles (something that doesn't require to be part of the load out) that is instance specific for them to work.

Then...
Explain why it isn't.
Asserting "I disagree" and "Just because you think something doesn't mean it's right" is not a reason for you to be right.
Because it is easy to bait out. Many times when a survivor is about to use it make it very obvious because they are baiting your swing.
If you want to focus on the portion where survivors get a “free get out of jail card” as many of you call it. There is a plethora of perks and playstyles on the killer side which have a significant lack of balance that I don’t see changing anytime soon… and they won’t. Because perks are just that PERKS. An advantage in a given specific scenario which you wouldn’t have had if you didn’t bother to slot it.

DH is an overpowered crutch. It's a third health state every single chase and it absolutely promotes bad play, I say this as someone who quite literally never takes the perk off when playing survivor, every "build" I use involves having DH because it's a crutch and I know it. People can argue that it should stay the same or be nerfed until kingdom come but lets stop pretending the perk is any sort of balanced because it's not.
Just because you and a handful of people deemed it unbalanced doesn’t mean it is.

Nearly every streamer I've ever watched are in agreement that DH is too powerful in the right hands, particularly used for distance.
It's not even up for debate if its strong or not, literally every Survivor and their dogs are running it.
No but you bothered to reply to a post they responded to where they did.

You must fall into the low/intermediate MMR category then mentioned in the quoted post
I’m not in low MMR and I agree with them.
Also, funny how MMR gets brought up the moment DH is talked about. Yet no one talks about it when the killer has high MMR but the tile set ups are still trash for survivors.
But since that isn’t the topic of discussion if you are falling for window fakes you are a bad killer and you probably shouldn’t be facing that survivor’s MMR.

I have a quick question: when Charlotte is dormant, does she still have a terror radius?
No she does not. She falls into what is called a Dormant state. She loses her Terror Radius and Red stain as well.
Oh your original question. For me personally I try to get the most out of both Charlotte and Victor. So for example if I down a survivor as Charlotte but see another survivor close by I send Victor out to at least get latch onto them and get them injured. This way you are applying pressure because they now have to do whatever they need to do to heal or risk getting caught injured. Additionally if the survivor wants to keep Victor hostage, there is a chance that it will also give you Killer Instinct on other survivors nearby.
If you want to play stealthy with Charlotte you will need to bring her Silencing Cloth add on or perks that allow you to have the undetectable status or oblivious status on survivors.
So all in all, what I think makes Twins great is the vast amount of information you can gain with them while also strategizing between each one depending on what situation you are presented with.

Exactly and noed too since they fix scrummy killers mistakes lol.
Oh they can keep No Ed. Just "do bones".
It's funny how killer mains want to find an excuse for their BS perks and playstyles but when it comes to survivors they will use the most anecdotal/applicable evidence to fit their arguments. Especially on these forums.
-
Yeah which is why it is used more often than the others. Because it is literally a chase-looping perk.
The other perks are different in their own way. Yet people keep claiming DH is used more because it's better. 🙄 Right, better for LOOPING. Not for gaining distance.
-
Yeah and while they are at it...
turn off
Ruin
Undying
Tinkerer
Camping and Tunneling
Because these perks and playstyles are also used to "correct" mistakes and buy more "time".
-
I like versing them and understand why they have to slug. It’s in the very core of their power.
Victor can’t pick up survivors, he gives off Killer Instinct to anyone not crouching and moving.
I think once you get that you understand why they play the way they do.

The simple act of knowing who's being chased, or healing another, or going for the unhook, or pounding out that last gen will def make solos more efficient. It's what Kindred is supposed to cause when survs are smart. Supposed to.
All we can do is get more tools provided. Can't make people use em sadly...
Yep, exactly my point. Many times all Kindred does is make players upset because it's one thing for survivors not to do ANYTHING while not seeing each other's auras, another to see them do NOTHING while they see each other.
At that point I just let go of the hook. There is no point in playing with teammates like that.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Need to buff solos before anything. Some kind of communication wheel/ping system would go a long way. Just simple things like being able to tell your teammates what you're going to be doing when someone's on the hook, you know?
That’s not why solo Q is bad though?
Do you think communication is going to force survivors to do gens, take hits, save before second phase etc?

And none of those have even come close to replicating DbD’s niche genre. Unlike VHS. Am I speaking Ancient Greek here? Is vhs better? God no. Is it closer to DbD than any other? Yes. Yes it is.
that’s the whole point.
I would hardly call “replicating” in a game where you are creating weapons to KILL the killer.
Like, I think VHS looks fun but it is nowhere near the same as DBD.

Pay more attention buddy. It’s a crap game, but vhs beta has launched and coincidentally we have a blood hunt at the same time despite never having had one at this time of year beforehand. They shouldn’t be threatened, at least not by vhs, but they clearly are.
it’s a good sign. They’re smart and paying attention. Gotta put up or shut down.
go ahead and think I’m crazy- I’m not. Dbd will vastly improve soon or fade away. My money is on the first.
VHS looks like another attempt at Last Year , a game with potential which didn’t do well.
I think you should pay attention to the fact that VHS doesn’t play like DBD AT ALL, nor does it have any of the licensed characters DBD does, which that in itself puts DBD on another level.
DBD has its problems but I swear some of you should just go play whatever game you think is “competition” because I feel like you would be happier if you did.
-
I don’t.
-
Talk about being melodramatic.
-
Hmmm. Should I tell him?
Now imagine if no one had had BT and DS, would that have been a free kill for you? Lol
Meanwhile this is me waiting for their endurance to run out… because I know better.
-
I get toxicity from both killers and survivors and I don’t consider it a competition. They are both to blame.
I would say thank you to all the players who opt to be the better person whether killer or survivor.
-
@Marigoria said:
Someone had to say it.
You cant really have balance related conversations on this forum because every thread turns into a "killer good survivor bad" and if you say something about it you just get mobbed for being a "survivor main", "never playing killer" or "being low mmr".
It has turned into a pity party and fear mongering fest and people just join in on the hive mind instead of trying the game by themselves and seeing how it is actually like.
Yes, the killer role is stressful and can be hard, but to the point of all of this on the forums? No.
That’s why the forums have a reputation of being “killer main”. Because even from a newer person’s perspective (even if it isn’t) it seems that way.
Long before I joined the forums a friend of mine who used to play and no longer does, came on here, posted something about survivor balance and was quickly shut down by several people. Not like in a “let me educate you” kind of way, but more like a “you don’t know what you are talking about” way.
It kind of saddens me that, people can’t even be respectful with how they go about disagreeing with others… and that just because a survivor player said it it must be wrong. Needless to say he never came back because of these forums and warned me when I first joined.
I have had so many experiences with talking to/playing against other killer player mains that share a different opinion than that of the forums. That’s why I never hold my breath anymore when it comes to having a decent balance related conversation here. It usually ends up with me agreeing to disagree.
-
The sad part is that for some of them this is probably their 9-5. They have nothing else going on with their lives, so they have a duty to complain about virtually anything regarding DBD.
Because some people seem undoubtedly invested to the point where just flat out removing the game from their library isn’t a choice anymore. Since it would make their lives look pretty boring.
I work 12 hour days, and I’ve taken 2 semi long breaks in the span of a little over 6k hours. I didn’t do it because the game was in any specific “shape”, I did it because there are other games I was waiting to play (Aliens Fireteam/ Diablo Resurrected). Even with how addictive the game is I am glad I am able to put it down if I need to.
A game defining your day/mood is the worst thing you can do for yourself… and if you’re letting it happen more than once, that says more about you than the game tbh.
-
Because it’s fun, and because it is less stressful than survivor for me because I can be independent with my choices, rather than have one person drag me down.
-
Because some people on here don't know how to deal with losing. It is as simple as that. People would rather blame something else besides their own skill rather than learn from the match and accept that they were going against experienced/skilled players.
They want to be paired up with more casual players but they still want to win, without hardly trying.
That is a hard reality check, but one that many on here will not reach. The game will close down and people will still be complaining about how unbalanced it is, and not how much they never learned.

Lucky Break
Babysitter (good luck with anyone bringing this perk)
which other ones are there?

Not when there are scratch marks and blood pools and your own ability to hear environment. Even when they are on the other side of the wall you can hear footsteps.
I think if you’re a bad tracker you are going to have issues with this perk regardless if it’s on all the time or not.

Any feature declared optional that gives an advantage de facto isn't, because you'll be bullied and shamed into using it if you just want to play. Not using VC? Team'll throw.
Huh? Explain how?
I played Friday the 13th and not everyone used voice. I muted those "annoying" players, and still did well.
Also, how exactly am I being bullied and shamed if I can't hear them? Simply put, I do not care if they feel some way about it, I'll do what I want. Whether it's using voice or choosing not to.
-
@SleepyWillo said:
Have you played f13? People trying to be DJs and subjecting others to their bad taste, 13 year old screaming racism and homophobia, killers trying to flirt with the first girl they've spoken to without a subscription fee... Its horrific
Having played F13 for over 1k hours, I can attest that while it does happen, not every lobby is that way.
DBD could easily just add optional voice for those who want to voice, and a mute option for those who don't.
-
Idk, I’ve been playing pallet Freddy and having a lot of fun with him.
He has VERY good map pressure and is balanced playing against him as well. Love to use his teleport and I actually wish every killer was granted a teleport ability, whether via a portal or something.
-
According to the forums only Spirit and Nurse are scary. 🙄
But yea I agree! I am not a Trapper main but play him pretty consistently since I picked up the game. You learn so much through your wins and losses, but especially your losses IMO.
Funny cuz things I have learned through Trapper I applied to other killers as well. Like time management (spending extra/too much time because he has to plays his traps)and playing more “sneaky” when you aren’t a stealth killer.
-
I’ll agree with one thing you said.
Reddit and killer players on the forums have one thing in common. They complain ALOT.
-
Idk but from what I heard console pigs do not fall for boops.
I tested it and found out they are out for blood. lol

So you're upset because survivors are cleansing more totems rather than sticking to gens?
Who would have thought.

I don’t think he needs a buff at all tbh.
I find him boring to play against for the very thing that was just mentioned, you “pre-drop” pallets leaving very little room for interesting interaction.

Those are intended playstyles btw those perks aren't there to completely counteract them (as shown in their design) they are only there to make those playstyles weaker / slow the killer down for/while using them, there will likely never be a built in mechanic to counteract those playstyles, especially not completely
Its the same on both sides where they have perks to slowdown the other side and buy time and those perks usually end up being meta because thats the strongest effect in the game to buy time
How do you buy time with DS when you don’t use it because a killer makes it obvious they do not camp though?
I don’t camp and I never (hardly) see DS. Sometimes I get it “out of the way” so I don’t have to deal with it during endgame.
My point is that, regardless of what perks killers bring there is very little a survivor is going to be able to do against those playstyles, that are only there should the killer choose to (or not) use them.
It is part of the core that is very indented but also the reason why survivors opt to not go in without those perks.
-
The DS/BT/UB meta exists because of how common it is to face killers who Camp/Tunnel/Slug. In no specific order.
When you look at it from a technical stand point, Survivors are countering playstyles that may/may not happen. There is no way to tell what type of killer you are going to get and with certain ones (Bubba, Oni, Twins) it is almost required to bring at least one of those perks.
So as long as those playstyles remain intact without any sort of built-in mechanic for survivors to have a chance, they will continue to be meta.
-
Dweet all the way.
He is wholesome and cute.
