The best perk in the entire game to punish gen rushing.

Easily gets you a free kill/2

Makes survivors salt so ######### fast

    Anyone else love it?

When you meet a team with scroll... kill the person with the scroll, otherwise NOED will be a memory! 🀣

I always find myself working hard to mimdgame a survivor and get them before they can reach a pallet but then they dead hard, drop it in my face and run to the next loop.

How can I counter this? I feel like I can't do anything and sometimes survivors time it so perfectly that they jump through the window as soon as dead hard ends.

Is it meant to work that way? Because it happens way too much and I just can't see any way to solve this problem.

The nurse ignores all the perks, all the loops mechanisms, and the advance that a survivor can take on the killer...

The only problem is that it must be mastered... The survivor can be down in seconds, if you are fast. There are NINJA loop pros, it's the only way to loop a good Nurse, and according to my parts only 1 person out of 30 knew how to do it...

The Spirit, she can also counteract loops but it takes brains (less than the nurse). With the Spirit it is impossible to hide, it will find you thanks to the sounds, the music is cut, you have the choice between looper randomly with the puck or run to the next loop... a good Spirit will have you down before.

I recently started thinking and studying into some psychological stuff and even unironically spoke to my own therapist about how dbd might have an overall negative impact on my mental health.

The results and responses I got were staggering, but won't take long to share.

This is just ONE medical professionals opinion of course, but feel free to ask your own. My therapist believes with dead by daylights gameplay, combined with reward from win/loss, community responses I showed (screenshots of post game etc, chat messages from consoles), that dbd can have a profound negative impact on your mental health.

And I agree. It may be "just a video game." But that's a weak argument. Dbd can hurt people, and be unfair, and not fun and that's okay! It's a competitive game, you can change your mindset. But I thought some people just might need to hear this for once.

When I watch some Youtuber they have no feelings, they hang the last survivor, as if they were playing with their lives...

Yes, there are bad people! But I prefer to show good to bad people than to give bad ! If you need BP YES, you have the right to play your game the way you want, you hook everyone. But when you don't need it and you have unlocked everything where is the fun of hock everyone and create even more rage (salt)?

Yes, I got angry on a Zarina red rank 1... 3 games to get it, I got it down, and I camped it but towards the end I thought these friends would come back to save... at the same time they knew I had mastered my Nurse. I wanted to show her that being a toxic addict was useless to win, because in the first game I wanted to let everyone out, she and her friends would have scored a lot more points... If she had been normal I might not have killed anyone!

In short, stay yourself and don't get angry anymore for toxic people, leave it, move on !ο»ΏπŸ€—

positives: unbeatable once mastered, very rewarding to play, respect among players for playing the toughest killer to learn

negatives - extremely hard to master around 1000+ hours to learn, very buggy

    Thank you,πŸ€—

Exactly, the Spirit has a surprise effect out of the ordinary that's why I like it, survivors can't looper it without risk.

The Nurse on the other hand requires a lot of Brain, because it is loop with the ranks 1 survivors. After 10 games savouring my victory, victory after victory I met a SWF...πŸ˜•

Part 1 : well, the team was a draw, without this survivor (Zarina rank 1). I down Dwight, normal, thinking to let them out after a few BP, no more. I want to take Dwight and then Zarina comes with a lamp... I was chasing this rank 1 and suddenly I lost him, with each chase it was as if he had disappeared... The vegetation in the Coldwind farm map (I don't like it very much) was a horror, I didn't know where to go to get him and the worst thing is that even with Stridor I couldn't hear his moans... more hunting music, horrible ! They all got out thanks to him. I count on my NOED...... All totems destroyeds !

Part 2 : I saw them again later, his toxic behavior in the previous part made me lose my temper and I took a Mori. The game begins, Dwight sees me and certainly recognized me ... I look for him but I find Dwight, I hang on to him and wait for the stall, I Mori Dwight. The Crotus Prenn map is big, it was far too difficult to protect the generators. Bingo, I find Zarina, I put it down and hang it up, I go to look at the generators and in the meantime he gets unhooked. I go back to him for the Mori, but there... last generator activated, Zarina and I start a hunt, he is wounded, I'm sure to get him... In fact no, because he disappeared like Spirit, impossible to follow the scratches, impossible to have a clue! 1 kill, no totem, no NOED !

Part 3 : Bamm, the same team ! I take addons, I arm myself with courage and I fight ! I find Claudette, Dwight, Ace, and finally Zarina ! I hunt Zarina but as always NINJA mode. I hunt Dwight, hock. I hunt Claudette, hock. I hunt Ace, hock. I hunt Claudette again, kill. I hunt Dwight, down. I hunt Zarina, after long minutes, DOWN! Victory -> Hock -> Camp -> KILL ! Dwight and Ace didn't come, they left by the door, but I got Zarina.

In the end lobby I saw a scroll, I guess my totems disappeared that way!

I don't know Zarina's build but it was nothing from NINJA so why didn't I hear her voice with Stridor????

Ps: Strangely after this experience I win, but to be honest I'm afraid of the first ranks!πŸ™ƒ

Well you know always depends on the people so even when you have a really good game, there are survivors out there that will be able to ######### on you when you play nurse as they know how to play against it.

    Advice:

Understand that nurse has limited mobility, punish survivors where you can. There are several ways to create pressure as nurse. Try to learn how to flick, do not just mindlessly aim for the blink. Aim down and you will actually be able to see more of your screen, flick up at the target, the moment you let go. I recommend to watch bruscles_ he is a very kind streamer who explains alot and deserves more views, check him out. Yeah he knows what he talks about 33k blink attacks, barely plays with addons.

I guess you know the usual stuff, you can charge your 2nd blink while you are blinking for more distance but be careful good survivors can hear that and might double back. There is a "rule" where as people tell you well nurse always reacts e.g. corner you blink to it and do not predict survivor movement due to loss of line of sight but sometimes it is the right choice and i think you already understand that part.

Try to know where deadzones are on maps so you are careful to avoid those, good survivors can bait you into failing blinks at them. That is it from the top of my head.

    Absolutely!

Earlier, I played a game, I won, I got all 4 and it was super fast. To teleport and shoot at the same time it's already done, I also manage the distance, I anticipate, and I brainstorm almost all the time they were like confused... I've met some great loopeur, they know 50% of the time I was teleporting, except that after a while I tried something...

I turn my head, as if I was interested in someone else, and all of a sudden I turn around and teleport to the loofer, he takes the blows. When I see them and they're hiding I pretend I didn't understand anything and suddenly I teleport myself sharply onto them, and when he loops me I teleport myself into a corner and I wait and teleport myself back to where he was and it works? I tried a lot of things and I could understand how to counter the SWF at the loop, except for the generators it has to be faster... the map of the wheat fields is way too big !

I'm going to watch the streamer you're talking about, thanks to you, thanks to everybody !πŸ€—

you're welcome, also I am not sure how much would change if she was nerfed. Not otzdarva had a stream where he proposed that every second while you are phasing, the survivor could see a glimpse of where you are at. But then again, a nerf for the spirit is probably not going to happen for a while so I would continue to enjoy the spirit without worrying about a nerf.

They want the grass to move... I don't understand, because because of this nerve it could break the Spirit's surprise effect, its power doesn't last long and doesn't recharge quickly, it's slow too... it could become totally predictable and therefore end up in the wrong killers. I really hope they will stop the nerves !πŸ€”

  • @Yords said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/195709/nurse-and-spirit-without-addon

I think spirit is incredibly fun and I happen to be very skilled with her too.

Nurse I used to be really good at but I have barely played her lately so idk.

The nurses only weaknesses would be here base movement speed being 5% slower than survivors (just about) and her recharge time (kinda).

The spirit's weakness is her 110% movement speed. I would say the sound for her is very hard to get used to especially against survivors with iron will. But this is not a weakness; rather an obstacle to learn to play around.

The only tips I have for nurse is to remember your ABB (From Bricky the youtuber) "always be blinking" to refine your skills with her blink, and never really use addons until you completely understand her power. The second tip is to use one blink to close distance on the survivors and the second to secure a hit (very effective).

Base stats: 95% movement speed (most likely; confirm this for yourself)

Base max range with first blink: 20 meters + 8 meters per chain blink (the chain blink is not that great anymore)

Base fatigue: + .5 seconds of fatigue every chain blink used (not really important to know anymore)

For spirit I know quite a few things, unless you are about to down a survivor NEVER use the full duration of your power. This way you can constantly be phasing keeping the survivors confused. Learn the little speed boost from your post-phase you retain for half a second (.5) seconds at default after you stop phasing. During the post-phase speed burst, your lunge is increased a little bit. The addons that increase the duration of your post-phase speed boost (but more importantly the lunge) include the "Wakizashi Saya" and "Katana Tsuba".

Wakizashi Saya - .3 second increase in post-phase reappearance time (the speed boost duration after coming out of phase)

Katana Tsuba - .2 second increase in post-phase reappearance time

    Playstyle tips:

    • Like I said before, never use the full duration of your power unless you are sure you can down someone with it. This will make sure you always have your power ready.
    • Learn how far 24 meters is, that will always be how long the woosh sound radius is. This cannot be changed no matter the current state of your terror radius.
    • If a survivor is in your terror radius, they can't hear the whoosh sound when you phase. This can get you some grabs off of gens if you get them on the edge of your terror radius, it is a beautiful sight to see.
    • If you see a survivor hiding, look away and then start the phase channel up. Afterwards, go over to the hiding spot of the survivor and make them soil their pants by hitting them. (if they are in your terror radius)
    • For movement (such as after your hook a survivor), use half of your phase power duration for movement at most. It helps you be even more unpredictable and helps against object of obsession users.
    • Try to never start your phase looking in the direction you are facing. This makes you more unpredictable, which is what spirit is about at least for now.
    • To close distance on a short loop, stand in the middle of the pallet so when you use your phase your husk blocks the survivor from dropping the pallet. Use the post-phase lunge (longer lunge) and speed burst to hit the survivor, keep in mind good survivors will probably start to walk away.
    • Duration over recovery. For some reason, duration addons on spirit also make her recovery faster too.

That is about it. A good addon setup (and my personal favorite) is the Wakizashi Saya bloody hair brooch. Shorter channel time is GREAT and so is the lunge from the burst addon. It is insanely good on her.

    Build for the spirit:

Corrupt intervention, BBQ and chili, sloppy butcher, and PGTW are fantastic on her. (Yes, stridor would be great. However it is very confusing and I personally don't use it at all and do just fine.)

I believe the strongest addon combo is my personal favorite, the wakizashi saya and bloody hair brooch. With the shorter channel time and longer burst out of phasing, you can use your power constantly for mobility by using only half to be very sporadic.

Try it out and tell me what you think. I hope this helps.

I think it has potential but I'm afraid of a future nerve, so I'll focus on the Nurse first, it has already been nerve.

In fact I'm falling in love with the Nurse again because she doesn't care about loops, or obstacles. For basic speed I know what you're talking about and you're right, but after understanding its power I've learned to stay close to the survivors, in fact it's all about power. Her power is used to catch, patrol, and break loops... I understand why she got nervous, it's really powerful!

You give me tips for the Spirit, I would like to give you some too... well, at least it's just a technique, I'm very bad at generators and management, but now i can use his power.

    Phase 1

    1: getting closer

2 : to prepare oneself has anticipated, behind a wall, guess where the survivor will go, calculate his speed of movement, his methods, and his style

3: teleport (brain, during teleportation, left then right, in a straight line, vice versa)

    4: and touch

    Phase 2

    1: get closer (very close)

2 : teleport very quickly to the left right, or right left but do not hit, you have to make him believe that you are useless.

3: reteleport in a straight line and hit

    Phase 3

    1: getting closer

2: Teleport 1 time to the survivor and maintain pressure to a pallet or window.

    3 : Strike or grab

Note : you must touch, the first or second time, if after three times you haven't touched anyone it's because you're going too fast...

When the survivor is ashore you must show that you have mastered your teleportation, others must fear you. When you are far from the slug survivor, teleporting right on top of him, it impresses because they didn't come for him right away, even after NOED exploded (I talk my last game). You really have to show that you are calm, when slugging, move your character calmly at slow speed and turn your head as slowly as possible. Calculate the number of survivors around you, calculate the Paintball effect during the teleportation. By force, it becomes a faculty and you put in the mile unintentionally sometimes. The advantage of the Nurse is that she doesn't care about obstacles, and floors too.

You're right, addons are great but without them it's better (at the beginning).

Thank you for you tips Nurse and Spirit !πŸ€—

that made me thinking if they will let their game die. Let me explain quickly why: I was a Paragon player (a dead game wich Epic killed cuz Fornite) and last thing I remember was that they were making bad decisions and I really hope this game wont go in that way

    Thoughts?

"A happy birthday, as long as it lasts"

It's for DBD's birthday, a sentence like... Seeing how old players treat new players..

  • The list of my killer actions :

-I camp (in the hope of having another survivor only)

    -I do not tunnel

    -I don't kill when I don't need PB, I let everyone out.

-I don't kill SWFs, I show that I'm better than them, except in difficult times.

    By surviving my actions:

-I don't tbag, except to joke with the killer and survivor.

-I pick up the survivors (unless the situation prevents me)

-I only disconnect if I have a bug

-The killer can intimidate me to find the other survivor I never talk (lol)!

-When a survivor is on the hock I will save him, even with NOED

-When there is only me and one other survivor left I intentionally call the killer to hock me (usually the patato survivor never finds the Hatch, ARGHHHH).

Ps: trust me, There are a lot of people like that but you don't notice them !

  • Huntess (with addon)

    Bubba

    Plague (πŸ™ƒ)

    Billy (with addon)

I was gonna buy this killer. Is he good?

No. Its power is easy to counter, it's easily loopable, BUT it's an infinite one-shot..πŸ˜€

Spine chill = spotted = very difficult to play with it in old maps. Many say moonwalk, but at the same time we lose the survivors and that I don't like ! For me it is not playable. However I learned to teleport with the Nurse without knowing where they were going, maybe moonwalk is a skill, like the Huntress with the hatchets, maybe with learning...

  • Dragon's grip + Trail of torment (future patch) = crying SWF mode = fun for all killers πŸ€—

But i think like a survivor, i play random and stealth so..

  • @Ryan489x said:

First off I'm not against moris but I understand how frustrating they are for survivors I play as one a lot.

First. Don't make them hidden anymore. by this point any killer offering you cant see is assumed to be a mori and most of the time it is. people DC before the match even loads under that assumption alone.

Second Make it so they can't be used until the person is on death hook. I've had many games where it's oh I hooked you once and now you're dead. I've played against killers who won't use them until death hook and it was far less annoying because I was dead either way.

third make some of them better. The Trapper, Wraith, Nurse and even the Doctors moris are just boring to watch. with the wraith you can't even see anything. and If the Demegorgan eats your head, why do you still have a head?

If you do that you will have three times as much camp and tunnel...

Why do you think there are so many mori? Because the killers got nerves one by one, and today these killers eat SWF and you can ask any killer (random or youtube), when you are overwhelmed by this kind of team, and you need BP, you camp and tunnel. Today the killers are so used to DS and others that they don't laugh anymore, Mori. As soon as they feel a strong team in the lobby they imagine the worst part and so take Mori. I don't do it, because I think it's not fairplay, but it's legitimate !

  • DS is like Haunted ground, dangerous for the killer. SWF team abuse of this perk, the randoms dont have !

  • Yesterday I played against a SWF, I was the Spirit (I thought I was very bad with it, but no). The game starts on Hawkins lab, I'm looking for a survivor, it was a Nea (rank 2 I guess). I chase Nea, 3 generators on 2 minutes of chase, I got him! So far I didn't think about camping, it was really a fun game, I might have let everyone out ! I hook Nea, I turn around and there it starts... Kate picks up Nea. I lose Kate but I hear Nea, I go towards Nea and I hope Kate comes back... she comes back with Ace and (I don't know who). It all starts with one flash from Ace, then a second one from the other... I didn't want to kill Nea but the pressure really got to me, I killed Nea, then I hooked Kate. There was 1 generator left, it lasted so long that the pressure was huge! I hung Kate next to the generator they absolutely wanted to finish, I hit the generator many times, I killed Kate (but before that there was a ton of flashlight, no rescue, it was the flashlight to really annoy). After I killed Kate I shot down Ace, then the other one. They were both on the ground and I watched both of them crawl around hoping to find the Hatch... Ace is dead, and the other one found the hatch but I closed it under his nose... He disconnected!

I may have been toxic at the end with Ace, but to show that I was not like them I wanted to let the last survivor take the door... despite the flashlights, tbags, clicks, and certainly the insults in the chat.

It was my first victory against a SWF, the Spirit. That was my story, it really traumatized me because I don't play for pressure, I play for fun!

  • @Name_Unavailable said:

I kinda like the upgrade but i have 3 problem with them

    • All new maps almost look the same Mcmillan/Freddy maps feels they are from the same realm now, Unlike before when each one were more unique.
    • The grass, I hate it. The old one was much better.
    • More dead zones. Dead zones means boring chases, I perfer making the map smaller than having an empty space with nothing there no pallets or windows.

    what do you guys think?

    "Guys" or all?ο»ΏπŸ˜€ο»Ώ

Me i think the grass make the Trapper, Hag, Spirit, and Ghostface strong. Yes, and it was necessery ! There is too much camp and tunnel, too much ragequit, too much nastiness in the killers today... The front maps were too open, too big, not at all to the killer's advantage... now everybody is happy, the survivors can hide, and the stealthy killers too, while the normal killers take advantage of their powers (like the trapper).

The numbers of paletts and windows is fine, now the survivors will be quiet, loop but not everytime... We are in a HORROR game. Now the survivors will hesitate to loop for nothing !

  • This perk needs to be reworked it's clear.

Disabled on stealth killers, or 20 meters is fine. 36 meters is much too much especially when the survivors work in team (the lookout)!

But anyway I have the impression that this perk will be a little useless. When all the maps will be reworked, I say "useless" because the sneaky killers are asking for trees, foliage, shade ... and from what I could understand on Youtube from a video of the PTB it's the jungle! Freddy's map is the jungle too, it's the same for the new maps that are coming, and it's perfect for survivors against normal killers, but very dangerous against the stealth killers ! Spine chill gives info about the killer in clear maps, most of the time the killer is very easily spotted, but with the rework it's over, the survivors will spend more time looking around now.

It's the rework of the maps that will become very boring... Trapper, Spirit, Hag, Wraith, Pig, and maybe Gorgon for the portals, finely Ghostface... I tell you all, the game is going to be a REAL challenge for everyone !

Resiliance + Spine chill = OP looper

  • @CashelP14 said:

You looking for a build during ptb or live game?

No no, I was saying that with the PTB we're talking about change (Small game example), and I was thinking if someone had a build with these perks... while taking into account future changes for these perks..

    @Bulbasaur2008 said:

You want to test them all 3 in one build? Lightweight is good in my opinion for ninja build with calm spirit and iron will (you can add balance landing, but it is somewhat hard to use on some maps).

Small game doesn't have much synergy - maybe inner strength with mettle of a man and dead hard.

Slippery meat? Why would you be on a hook in the first place? This is kinda trash perk topped in any possible way by deliverance.

But if you want to use all of them in the 1 build, then either put inner strength for synergy with small game; iron will to synergize with lightweight, or just everyone favorite dead hard/decisive strike/borrow time.

It doesn't matter, the three of them, or with other constructions (like Ninja), but I don't have Jake's perks yet...

Small game it's because the Trappers are becoming and will become more and more present, that's why I took this perk.πŸ€—

This Doctor are too OP, impossible for me to loop (or maybe against a noob but not with the good).

  • At the beginning (almost always) the killer sees me, he hunts me, the others he don't care. Is this normal ? You will understand

When I'm on the ground he hooks me and waits, if someone unhooks me he hits me and nods up and down... Sometimes he moves back and forth on my character, and sometimes even worse he cooperates with the second last survivor to find me.. I am totally blocked, depending on the other survivor who often denounces me.. sometimes he block the hatch, and sometimes he tunnel and camp me but he leaves all others get out volontarily...

When the killer knows where I am he chases me, puts me down and nods his head for long minutes before putting me on the hook. Do you think this happens to me 1/10 of time ? You're wrong, this happens to me almost every day with totally different killers ! One day, I was a little annoyed I asked why, he answered me insanities on the female gender..πŸ™„ (Congratulations again to him!)

What should I say or think ? I don't tbag, I save all survivors, I make the gens and maybe loop yes but it's the game... Sometimes I wonder if playing killer is not better, because at least we don't know your identity until the end of the game.. no tunnel, no camp, little fun !

As a survivor I am always afraid of this situation which happens to me far too often TUNNEL, CAMP, SLUG (i think it's the terme)...

    • Rewards killers for active and smart gameplay like defending objectives or constantly moving around the map applying pressure
    • Punishes killers for passive gameplay - 2+ perks wasted if killer tunnel visions someone or camps

You all have good speeches, the only thing I remember is that killers against randoms are too strong, and killers against SWF are a doormat ! In this game you need to be a pro in advance or it's over.

Could be. I don't play clown too often so i might be missing out something. But i do know that if i am in a good swf, no m1 killer really stands a chance. Yes people tend to make lots of mistakes just for underestimating, so it could be related to that as well. I also don't see this game as a 1v1. Clown might get people on chases, but the overall match is really difficult for him. And if you are facing a good team, they'll pre drop pallets and do gens

The clown, like plague, like the doctor needed be nerf. Bottles everywhere, electroc choc.. OP

After that, keys, blood amber add-on, OoO, and dead hard.

You can nerve all you want, against a survivor who knows you loop you can't do anything... yes, camp, but against a good survivor you can't camp... or tunnel, but against a good survivor you can't tunnel!

We'll always have you no matter what you do, we don't depend on addons or perks ! !🀣

Killer is fun when you don't feel pressured, at high ranks every game is pressuring and stressful, so its only natural to only want to play a couple of games before throwing in the towel. Once MMR comes out im sure playing killer will be more fun consistently, or at least more than it is now.

Sure, against the high rank you can't win.🀣

You camp when you feel your fail.. i feel your stress, i read you, you are completly down and you become like all killers 20 rank, you hit the fly you are lost... Oh yes, trust me play killer with the survivors high rank is not fun, but maybe when the killer stop camp or tunnel the life will be more easy for you all !

Not good english but I understand me !πŸ€—

I've been playing on Xbox since the day it came out on console... And it's hilarious you said that about the reports..

Before DbD, 0 reports for cheating. Since DbD, over 300 reports for cheating. Mind you I don't play daily, and I tend to take half year breaks here and there... So that's a LOT of reports to me. Lol

For save this, crossplay or 10 game in COD Warzone for back in the green.πŸ˜€

@Clevite Boy I was born on raised on the EU servers, that's just business as usual for me when I play survivor.

Oh no, I don't play killer anymore, I'm main survivor now. Maybe with Ghostface for the fun. Spirit is too weak without headphones πŸ˜€

My cross play is off and my queue times are fine. Im on xbox

What does cross play have to do with your reputation?

Good ? Impossible ! Everyone I meet tells me that it takes hours before they have someone..

The report ? Easy, If you play Killer on Xbox one your reputation will go down in 10 games... I know what I'm talking about I had an almost red reputation a few months ago for playing 10 games without losing with Ghostface, I was ranked 3 or 2.

    https://enforcement.xbox.com/en-us/home/reputation

Go check your reputation if you play in killer without crossplay, it will help you, that's why I'm happy with the crossplay ! πŸ˜€

I’m just gonna switch to Spirit lol. Enjoy another Stridor Spirit guys 😚

🀣 Spirit will be probably nerf soon so

  • Camp, tunnel need a big nerf. Easy like helloπŸ˜€

  • 1: There are patatos everywhere

2 : If you turn the crossplay you won't have many people left...

3: I wanted to put it on OFF but no, because when you play on Xbox you can get 1000 reports and your reputation pays the price !

  • It is necessary to limit the number of repairs... Two generators at the same time is enough!πŸ€”

With no video proof, all survivors spawning at different generators and a killer who is obviously afk. No 4 gens popping in two minutes.

I was going to make a joke post about the garbage responses this kind of thread normally gets, then thought better of it and deleted it all.

That said, Gens will fly if you aren't visiting them enough. If a Survivor is running you around mid for 30+ seconds, it's because they are stalling you while everyone else works on Gens. It sucks. As a Killer, you are "supposed" to chase and hit them, but they know that. They will present you with the Survivor that is confident in their ability to run you while Gens get done.

As such, my mindset for this game has completely changed when playing Killer.

First off, you aren't a BIG BAD Killer trapped with four Survivors running for their lives. You are an armed victim trapped with four intruders trying to break your home. YOU'RE the one on the defensive, not them. They are there to attack your stuff, and you are there to defend your stuff. If one of them is running you around for more than 10 seconds, you need to go look at your stuff because it means the other intruders are tinkering with it. The rats are after your cheese. Chase long enough to hit them off a Gen, or get them running from the Gen they clearly want to work on (most Survivors become fixated on the Gen they fingered, and won't often go look for the one they haven't touched yet). Patrol them, chase when/where you can. and only really commit if they run deeper into your defense zone. If they run you to the other side of the map, you got played and will lose a Gen. They are greedy, unforgiving cannibals that will sacrifice a rat to a hook so the rest and gorge themselves on your cheese. After that, it becomes mind games, game sense, and mechanical skill.

If Gens took a bit longer, or changes were made so Killers felt like more of a threat, it would be a different game. Maybe better, maybe worse. A whole new meta would pop up. Until then, you're a terrified home-maker with a knife, and those intruders are trying to break your stuff.

When the 4 survivors know how to looper, believe me, you can defend your cases with rage and sweat they will put a big pressure on you from all sides.. before you start to crack (go crazy)!πŸ˜€

I keep putting off playing killer because its been non stop gen rushing at red rank but today l decided on playing and two games in l got gen rushed into oblivion. l downed a guy within the first minute of the game and than 10 seconds later l immediately find another guy, chase for 30 seconds and down him and l'm already at 1 gen left and forced to slug and camp after having a decent start to the game. They had two tool boxes and two prove thyself's... that's all they had and they got 4 gens in two minutes. l just want games to last longer and not have to slug and camp two minutes into the match because that's not fun for them or me.

I agree! I've been saying it since the beginning... it's because of the loops but I hope it will change with the rework of the maps ! Less loops, less time wasted to protect the generators!

  • The killers are unbalanced with nerves, frezze at the beginning of the game on Xbox (not the Xbox, the game only) never happened before the crossplay update, lag Asilyum, Survivors little bit OP...

It's still cool this game, but I'm staying on Space Enginner for the moment, waiting to get some balancing on DBD. I only hope they won't hang around and rework all the maps !

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

Lately there has been a lot of talk around balance....... again......... now that the Blight is out. So, excluding him as I have been positively slammed with work, and hearing about the miscellaneous bugs that this patch has brought, I haven't played as or against him YET, therefore he will be excluded from this.

My rules are simple: one small, simple change that will help the balance of the game at large. No major re-works or anything like that. Just something to even the playing field a bit more. Some will be nerfs, but majority will be buffs.

Trapper - All traps now start in the active/open position at the start of the trial.

Wraith - Increase the action speed while cloaked. This is kicking generators, vaulting and breaking pallets. Reducing the shimmer on his cloaked mode would also help.

Hillbilly - Make Infectious Fright not work with the chainsaw.

Hag - MINIMUM distance from hooks for Phantasms. If you're a good enough Hag, you don't need traps at their feet.

Nurse - Bug fixes, but other than that she's fine.

Myers - Change the effect of Judith's Tombstone and Tombstone Piece to have a stalking requirement on the targeted survivor.

Doctor - Frame rate issues that people mention.

Huntress - Hitboxes. I don't know if it's latency or actual problems with the power, but I have had so many questionable hits on both sides.

Cannibal - No matter how I look at it, there is no redeeming Bubba for me. The only bit about him that I remotely like is that his power is an AoE attack, but it's tied to an instant-down chainsaw and it is literally all he has.

Nightmare - Change it so that Freddy's Dream World Lullaby counts as a Terror Radius for perks like Borrowed Time.

Pig - Add-on pass to re-work half of them. A huge amount are either useless at best to detrimental in some cases. That and some stealth boosts in terms of speed would be also very welcome. Just a slightly faster movement speed in crouch. Nothing major.

Clown - Make his gas even scarier. More distortion in the survivor vision and maybe a slightly larger area of effect and duration.

Spirit - Remove her ability to hear survivors. She removes too much information for survivors currently while retaining way too much information comparatively for herself. By removing her ability to hear survivors, it will tone back her power greatly while not changing anything mechanically about her. If anyone mentions Stridor, all I can say is "Swap it for Bloodhound if you're THAT concerned or dedicated....."

Legion - Shorter stun out of Feral Frenzy for stabbing a survivor with the Deep Wound status effect.

Plague - Slightly increased duration in how long the vomit effect sticks to objects with slightly less particle effects.

Ghostface - Slightly increase the rate of power recovery. Not to the level of one of his add-ons, but just enough to be noticeable.

Demogorgon - Cut half the screams, or cap the volume/distance. It's just too loud as of current to actually keep anyone to actually be concerned. When I go up against a Demo and hear someone else getting chased, I know that I have all the time and space I need to do that generator.

Oni - Make Infectious Fright no longer work with the Kanabo.

Deathslinger - Either make his shot a hit-scan or slow it down to be a projectile that people can actually lead with. The awkward middle ground it occupies is very hard to get used to.

Executioner - Slightly increase the speed to activate Punishment of the Damned.

No, I am not a balance expert. Yes, Hillbilly and Oni have a change based around a perk. No, this won't fix other issues like map size or generator speeds. Yes, I do play killer. I'm a console player, specifically Xbox, so some of these changes might seem weird because of that to any PC players. No, I couldn't give less of a damn if Hag is a "defensive" killer, stop using your traps to camp and play the game normally like everyone else. I am currently in red ranks on survivor on my main account, and while time has sent me back to brown for killer due to neglect and WORK, I have still held my own against red ranked survivors including on stream.

No, I haven't played some of these killers, but I have versed them more than enough while others I wish I versed more. I have not played Hag, Cannibal, Clown, Plague or Demogorgon.

I haven't given specific numbers for boosts because, like I said, I am not a balance expert. They are also just ideas that I have come up with that could possibly switch up the slightly stale meta we find ourselves in.

If you have any improvements on these changes, then let me know.

Think that I'm an idiot who doesn't know what they're talking about? Make your own thread and let's see you come up with something better. I think that the fact that majority of these are buffs is certainly more than some people on these forums would give you.

Gorgon needs a big buff for the portal, and the Trapper needs 2 traps by default, maybe even blacken the traps..

6 games. 6 games in a row. The exit doors were not even touched. All 6 games was players hiding for hatch, or dcing to give hatch. 2 games in a row one player dc'd before first hook. Then the last 3 took the hatch.

BHVR why don't you just remove the gen's and exit gates? The majority of players clearly have found out how to abuse your free win mechanic.

Me, they finish 3 generators find the hatch, and they go out... That's how a game ends...

This is one example among hundreds !🀣

Enough skill? No, the average survivor is pretty bad.

I'm not trying to give Spirit more counter play or nerf her. I'm trying to make the counter play she does have be more learnable for the average player.

The footsteps sound give the survivor more intuitive counter play, not just more counter play, while you were having her ability get a much longer duration, so a give and take.

This lowers her 1v1 a little, but that increased duration is amping her map control and pressure a lot.

    Yes sure, i understand !!🀣
