I totally agree about the skins - I wish we could grind for them a bit like in years past. I also think it would be cool if killers and survivors both got to use their add-ons after the event. I will still enjoy the event regardless, though, and I'm sure many other players will too.

I'm mostly just against the idea that this one add-on decision means the devs are biased towards survivors. The devs are far from perfect and there's a lot of work to be done, but they have steadily pushed game balance towards the center over the years.

    I don't like to be rude to the devs since i know its a lot of work, but why would u ever make 2 event things for both sides but only let 1 use it after the event is over, especially when its so much better than the other side. Idk if u've seen the new killer add on but its literally pointless on killers like hag, trapper, demo etc. it says u can't use your power unless u use the dash first, and u can't even attack in the dash. But the other side gets speed boost for 20 seconds (unknown % prob like hope/bloodpact) and they can use that all year whenever they want, now imagine that stacks with hope and bloodpact. Hopefuly they've thought about that and it doesn't stack. The add on thing is just unfair towards killers its not even that good with so many restrictions and u can't even use it when u want, either disable both or enable both after the event. The community is way too 2 sided already don't make it worse ;-;

This thread literally exists to ######### talk the devs lol. The original post basically says "the add-ons are unfair", "the event will be a joke", and "the devs are biased towards survivor". Then there are hordes of people in the comments circlejerking about it.

well my bad i just prefer to skip over those comments and just talk about the issues themselves, also if thats how the event will be its not even ######### talking at that point, its a paid game with paid dlc with a cosmetics store and with a battlepass, and now u tell me i can't even earn 2 skins for free like the past 2 years?

The plants will only spawn if someone has the challenge activated as far as I have understood it.

So if no one has the challenge selected, there will not be a plant and they were talking about how this is a new form of challenge that they might look further into independent of Blight event..

My question is what happens if u have the challenge but your teammates milks the plant?

  • They explained that its red because your individual progress on the gen is slower but overall working with other ppl is faster its rly weird

Tomorrow's the event... "shrugs"... so imma ruin some casuals good time...

The event is on the 21st apparently the skins are tomorrow. Also no need to bully casuals even more, bhvr bullied them enough with paid only skins and survivor add ons that can be used all year around meanwhile killers' add on is restricted to the event only lmao

Isnt the speed boost a medkit addon? This is what I read earlier. I appologize if I am wrong. But if so, Killer only need bring Franklins and burn the kit like they do keys. Also the survivours would have to bring Ace in the Hole to keep addon or lose them forever, right? Its not like its gonna be an endless supply of uses. (Unless Im mistaken with what I earlier read)

Sorry of I came off as a ######### earlier..thats why you shouldn't post when you are in a bad mood. So I appoligize for that too.

Skins behind rift walls dont bother me. Cause I buy rifts and I need to understand not everyone has money for rifts...

Anyway back to bias..I dont feel devs are biased either way. I think they try their best to appease both sides but at different times...

Franklin's no longer burns items like it used to, now they disappear IF they are on the ground for 90 seconds (and no one is gonna leave their item on the ground for that long). And if anything its just gonna make strong killers like nurse spirit billy (killers with movement) even stronger and weaker killers even weaker, if the speed stacks with stuff like hope of new bloodpact thats just gonna be incredibly overpowered especially against 110 killers. I hope the devs thought about those things and the speed doesn't stack but looking at previous examples.... idk man. Also the skins are not in the rift only David is, the other skins are all straight buy for 1080 auric cells or 21600 shards, so whats the point of the event if u can't even earn anything its just some bloodpoints

  • @cyniChris said:

Typical survivor bias, as usual. I wonder how fast "moderately" is. If it's more than Hope's 7%, and especially if it stacks, it's over-powered. I feel bad for killers like Trapper, Pig, and Clown, who all have no extra mobility from their powers. I feel like it'll create a lot of unfair situations where survivors should have been caught, but got away because they had an over-powered addon. And they can use it all year round. Killers are going to look at medkits and assume the survivor has that addon from now until the end of the game's life. Meanwhile, for a week or two a year, survivors have to "worry" about a slight movement increase where the killer can't even attack. Yup, that seems totally reasonable...

What I don't understand is why killers are forced to use the Blighted Rush before they can use their power, while survivors are free to trigger their addons whenever they choose with zero penalty.

I would literally never want to use this on Hag. Setting up at the start? Nah, let's go for a jog around the map first! Trapping near a hooked survivor? Not til you've run off like an idiot! It's a ridiculous concept, but that's a different discussion, I suppose.

i can only say 1 thing

  • Just go look at your comment then my reply then at your reply and we can talk. U say the devs aren't biased to survivors cuz the crown was so easy to earn for killers (######### cosmetic no one will use barely even visible on most killers awful gameplay disadvantage for survivors), the add on for survivors makes them run fast for x seconds and the killer add on is a short blight dash, survivors can use their add on at any time and killers can't after the event (apparently, not confirmed) the event will have paid only skins with no way to earn them, the crowns were able to be earned for free by both sides and could be used after the event FOR BOTH sides again. See where im going or still no? Plus the blight skins are always amazing and the devs know we love them so making them paid only is straight up greed if thats true

  • @OldHunterLight said:

Prob cuz she was in the paid track of the rift

Killers could just join a game and find The Entitys flame to earn the halo, survivours had to find AND survive while glowing brightly! but Killers Halloween event item being limited shows bias. 🤔 Did The anniversay event show the survivour bias...

    pfft.

Ye that ######### crown cosmetic is the same as getting a speed boost from an item not a perk at any time u want

  • @Hex_Stalk said:

These are things I've heard so take them with a grain of salt. If these end up happening well, I guess you can read the title of this post.

1: Halloween skins will not be earnable, instead they will have to be bought.

2: There is no difference from the last event. Same as always, just a slight bloodpoint boost.

3: The new survivor add on can be used whenever the player wants after the event has ended, but the killer is limited to during the event ONLY. (Devs, your bias is showing)

If there are any I missed then this event will be a bigger joke than I thought.

Where was 3 confirmed? Also about the skins if thats true the backlash will be HUGE

Well that's true that his default design is bad I will not deny that, But I have to disagree with "not picked as often" can be used as an excuse to not giving my boy any new skin.

And because his skin is mediocre just like you said, that's why I making this post in hoping the devs in the office will notice and can came up with some groundbreaking skin that can make him looks good once and for all~

Its what im talking about, his skin physically can't change to the point of being a groundbreaking cosmetic (sadly), u have to remember his gameplay and silhouette, he has to always have either a hat, a long coat and his broken jaw (these are the key aspects of his design, just like Spirit's cuts on her body are always shown with any skin). And for the not picked as often, sadly but thats a valid reason, skins are how the game makes money so obviously the more popular picks get more skins (original 4 survivors for example compared to someone like adam) its sad but its how it works, im still waiting for a new Plague skin as well but nobody plays her so it will be a while :/

Sigh, I wish they pick my boy Deathslinger because so far his cosmetic is just mediocore in my opinion. Still no matter how mediocore his cosmetics I end up buying it anyway...

His default design is the most boring and simple one in the game, its just not fun to make cosmetics for characters like that and this comes from an aspiring concept artist, his design is just so boring and bland and u can't change it much (like with minotaur oni or nyx spirit with the greek legends) slinger is just bland theres nothing unique or interesting about him and he is not picked as often as others which makes concept artists not make skins for him even more

  • @MusicNerd_TC said:

Alright, I started thinking about this after @MadLordJack said that nurse was busted and OP and that he hated how people defend nurse because she's "the hard one".

Nurse is by far the best killer in dbd, and I see more people wanting spirit and deathslinger nerfed than nurse, who has even less counterplay. Now, I agree that deathslinger and spirit do need some tweaks to their kit, but why not nurse? I see people defend her saying "she's a high skill killer", at least with deathslinger you can break LOS and pre drop pallets, slinger takes a lot of skill to play, almost as much as nurse, and I see more people talking about slinger than nurse.

I'm not saying nurse needs a nerf or anything, but I just want to know why people defend her for being high skill. She has almost no counterplay, you can't juke a nurse, the nurse misses, and since she no clips through everything, you can't use pallets or vaults as well.

So obviously u've never played nurse or played against a good deathslinger, his skill ceiling is 1 of the lowest in the game all he requires is decent aim and basic killer knowledge, u can't counter his quick scoping or his baiting which is what makes him so boring and annoying, plus even if u pre drop he can shoot u over it and still get a free injure with deep wound on top of that (and we know how much ppl love deep wound) spirit on the other hand i love, for me she is one of the most fun killers to verse i've just never been annoyed by her

Evidently the people who complain about Huntress hitboxes have literally never played the countless amount of FPS where you say to yourself "Dude, I just got hit around a corner."

Welcome to online gaming that isn't specifically a DBD or Huntress issue. Strange how projectiles and networking works. Some things simply have to have larger hitboxes to function.

That corner is quite the corner when she hits u after u are running behind a wall and the hatchet hits the air, good examples for hitboxes are overwatch and valorant, understandably dbd has the same hitbox for all survivors so its not pay to win but the problem is the hatchet hitbox being a sphere AND dedicated servers being ass

So you're accusing someone of doing something banable which they are not but admitting to DCing which is actually banable.

Holding the game hostage on purpose is in fact banable and dc-ing is no, its punishable which is why the penalty is there but its not banable my guy

  • @ABannedCat said:

I dont understand survivors. How is hanging on the hook less boring than laying on the floor? Atleast on the floor you can still move around.

Plus the killer gets into a chase quicker, which is the only exciting part for survivors - the chase.

Im not on the hook for 5 mins, on the hook i can at least kill myself and move on. Hooks are in the game for a reason just saying

  • @ChesterKornflakes said:

After having a losing streak as killer and seeing many survivors with BT/DS/Deliverance etc, I realized that these are all perks that revolve around the hooking mechanic. Knowing this, I decided to never hook survivors until everyone is slugged and/or have the survivors die from bleeding out, because those perks would never work unless I hook them. I started to see more success in my games, but after matches, survivors would start to call me toxic for not hooking them and keeping them slugged the entire match, and it was my "responsibility" to make the game fun.

Although I've been winning more matches for not hooking all survivors until they are all slugged, am I a toxic killer for doing this strategy? Is this a bannable/keeping the game hostage?

    Perks I run:

    • Hex Undying
    • Hex Ruin
    • Hex Haunted Ground / Deathbound
    • Deerstalker

Literally the most boring and toxic u can be, holding the game hostage on purpose is reportable and should be more harshly punished if anything. If i get slugged then all 3 slugged and no one is going on hook im just gonna dc, im sorry but im not gonna stay in and waste time when i can be in another game or doing smth else other than sit on the floor. Stop doing it and maybe u'll learn to actually play killer and how to do good in chases etc. just chase them again after a hook thats the whole point of the game why play if all u do is slug

This is probably the most bizarre thing I've seen as killer so far. In the lobby, I noticed they all had ttv names and I checked their streams. They were all on comms with each other, had 2000+ hours each in the game (2 of them had over 4000), the usual stuff you see.

I loaded in Badham Preschool II as Slinger. I downed a Kate pretty quickly, hooked her, one of them dc's, the Kate then dc's. The Steve and Feng then come and find me to point at the hook. I figured everyone wants this game over. I hook Steve who dc's while on the hook, and hook Feng who dies instantly.

I went into one of their streams to ask: Why did everyone DC?

Apparently, they only DC when playing against Slinger. The reason being, "he is unfun to play against". Now, don't get me wrong, I completely understand where they come from when saying this. It's near impossible to react to Slinger's ADS insta-shoot, and you can gain distance on him simply by holding it up. But then they said he is "unfair". This is where I disagree and I think most will too. Is Slinger strong in a chase? Yeah, there is no denying that. But he is evened out in his insane lack of map pressure. He's a 110% move speed killer with no map pressure. They were all comms together, one of them had Prove Thyself, it would not have been hard at all to gen rush me (it was a Preschool map so it was large).

I watched the stream for another game just to see what they behave like, and it's honestly quite pathetic. They went against a Forever Freddy (Swing Chains, Jump Rope, Thana, Dying Light, Sloppy) and said that THIS game would be more fun than a Slinger. They proceeded to gen rush a Forever Freddy with the Prove Thyself.

My question for everyone is this: What do YOU think about Slinger? Is he fun to play against? Is he fair to play against? Do you think DC'ing against every x killer you play against is pathetic behaviour, especially on stream?

TL;DR 4 salty streamers on comms DC'd solely because I played Slinger who is apparently "unfun and unfair", but Forever Freddy is acceptable.

Yep had a few of those yesterday, 1 example that i find hilarious, i had a ttv dc because i fully infected him with plague and downed him within 10 seconds..... bruh

How many good teams do you actually play? Ever since crossplay, there's been an influx of inexperienced survivors in red ranks.

    Literally!!!

Really accurate post it needs more attention. I've played like 10 games today 9/10 were all sweaty swf groups with the most meta builds both pc and console with map offerings and keys, i'd dodged a few lobbies and it doesn't even matter the 1 game i had was just 2 console 2 pc and i barely won it, had to slug cuz of a key and object but at least it wasn't a full swf (5 games on ormond btw 4 on rotten fields.....)

  • @Entity_Lich94 said:

Maybe I've just been lucky, but I play survivor just as much as killer but I rarely ever see a killer actually properly do either of these things. Like maybe once or twice a month I'll come across one.

I know there's quite a few people on here that claim they get it constantly and say it's the biggest problem with the game right now and I honestly wonder if it is really that bad for some people.

Tbf some people's definition of what camping and tunnelling is can be very broad so I do take these claims with a grain of salt

Speaking from my experience on EU rank 1 survivor i get tunneled in 3/5 games on average, in purple i get tunneled a bit less maybe about 1 or 2/5 anything after purple is basically either 4/5 or 5/5 camping especially becomes worse and more often in lower ranks but red ranks tunnel the ######### out of 1 person and thats most of the time me after looping them for 2 to 3 gens on average then for the rest of the gens once i get unhooked and they come after me again

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/ZKXMPFNESSRG/screen-shot-2020-10-02-at-8-36-39-pm.png

Difficulty is not measured by how bad a killer can be, its measured by how much their highest potential gives them. Blight has amazing map pressure which means he can start chases fast, but once a survivors gets to a loop his power can't be used and he becomes an m1 killer due to his 115% base movement speed, Nurse on the other hand can completely destroy even the sweatiest swf groups if she is good, she doesn't have a skill ceiling because theres always room to improve with her since every survivor plays and paths differently she always needs to observe the survivors she is currently facing because she always has to use her power while blight can just become an m1 nurse can't even catch up to a survivor if she is not blinking. Spirit also has a high skill cap but its different than nurse since she has to decide to mind game or to actually use her power and not be able to see the survivors, she is 110% and can barely be an m1 killer which again forces power usage to be effective, a good spirit can destroy a swf group, but a swf group can also completely destroy a baby spirit. And thats the difference, a blight can always just turn into an m1 killer around a pallet, his skill ceiling is limited by his own power, having turn angles means survivors are the ones deciding if he gets a hit or not, once they learn his angles (like with oni) it'll get even worse, but he'll always have the map pressure to find chases fast and if they are in a dead zone get fast down. As an ending point no Blight does not require anywhere near as much skill as nurse or spirit simply because of his power limitations and for being a 115%.

Then there are other skill ceilings like huntress/slinger for projectiles, hag/trapper for knowing survivors pathing and map tiles, stealth killers with map knowledge to find the fastest and most hidden way to get to the survivors for that early grab or injure before they know its a stealth killer etc. Blight is a middle of the ground when it comes to skill since all he does is just running around bumping into stuff

  • @MusicNerd_TC said:

I honestly think he's the hardest killer, yes harder than nurse.

He requires extensive tile and map knowledge, requires the most planning when using his bounces, all while not being the best killer in the game.

He has anti-loop, but it is extremely difficult to pull off, and requires you to conserve your charges. There is no killer like blight in the game right now, he's extremely unique, and has gameplay that differs from every other killer.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on him, and if he's more difficult than nurse.

    lmao

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

First up, I know how bait-y this will sound, but I'm genuinely curious:

The main argument against him I keep seeing is how 'he's boring too face' usually with the explanation that you can not have 'interactive chases' against him.

    So, I do wonder:

Facing a killer that requires you to shake up your gameplay is 'boring' while the same routine (chasing, juking, looping, etc) for every killer on every map isn't?

I really don't get the logic here.

Again, I see people argue that 'the chases are the most fun part' as if that is a universal truth, and as if everyone who plays sneakily, gets their objectives done etc is a bad player and not welcome in the community.

That's the impression I am getting each time people call for a massive nerf for Caleb, if not his full removal from the game.

For me its a lot of reasons why i hate deathslinger, first of all his whole visual design is just boring overdone and doesn't fit into the game, second his gameplay is incredibly boring for both sides. As a survivor theres nothing u can do but HOPE he misses a shot, even if u somehow get behind an object after he speared u (cuz that moonwalking thing when shooting a survivor is just utter bs if u ask me) then he still gets to injure u even tho u managed to get behind an object, it doesn't matter if u hide behind smth or not he gets a free injure on top of that its a deep wound, other issues are his terror radius literally not being there then he just shoots u from nowhere etc. As for playing him its just boring to me because i like the chase interaction on both sides its where the skill in the game is its not in gens or injuring ppl, its the chase, and slinger completely deletes the whole chase part from the game, i've played a lot of shooters and my aim is pretty good and for the only killer in the game that requires any kind of aim if u are good with it survivors have nothing to do against it. He is not op in the slightest he is just the most boring killers visually and gameplay wise. Overall chains of hate was a huge failure of a chapter

I dont know what behaviours problem is with the rifts but they treat it as this big money making scheme, yet has it never occured maybe they'll make more if they actually made people want to buy it in the first place by listening to us and adding what we've been asking for from the get go?

The pill shape isn't an issue though or the ball hit box on the hatchets. The devs had a stream a long time ago where they went over it in a lot of detail so we could see the exact size. They tried as well in the past to make the hatchet hit boxes match their shape and it caused a whole slew of other problems so it was scrapped. Injured survivors "look" like they lean out of their hit boxes, but their hit boxes have not changed. It isn't making them easier to hit.

What were the issues besides ppl missing the hatchets cuz it required better aim? Serious question i couldn't play at the time

Honestly ever since ds is bugged i've seen killers tunnel and camp every single game for 2 weeks straight, today i played 10 games all 10 the killers just either face camp or tunnel. Can't even blame ppl for dc-ing, if ppl dc they are doing it for a reason dc penalties won't even stop that since guess what if im willing to dc idc about the penalty simple as that. Also if anyone is screwing up the game for others its the killers that decided to camp slug until bleed out or tunnel can't screw up the game for others if they are just gonna get camped or tunneled anyway. Thats the only time i would dc personally and won't blame others its just boring and unfair

Hate to bring this up. However every time people say "Wait for the PTB" it turns out to be completely garbage. We are seeing the same problems as usual, taking something noone complained about and nerfing it, taking things that were fun and nerfing the aspects that made them fun while gameplay is made easier with more variety on the other side.

The main argument I hear in favor of nerfing pop has been "Do you really NEED those extra 15 seconds? Lets you do too much you are just a bad killer" why cant we have a good perk stay good :/

those 15 seconds aren't the thing that made pop good and aren't the thing that'll make it bad, pop is good cuz of its regression % not cuz of its timer plus ever since blight ruin undying is way more common than pop anyway. and this ptb seems to be the best changes in months, taking bad perks and making them fun and viable same for pyramid now he requires skill instead of hit no matter what he does

PGTW is "oppressive" but DS isn't an issue. Like at least try to make your post even slightly objective, you're dangling your bias out for everyone to see.

Oh no a person got unhooked and theres 3 other ppl. I must go for the unhooked guy and then complain that i have to wait 60 seconds cuz i couldn't chase anyone else oh no oh fck.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

PGTW never needed to be buffed from its original 30 seconds to begin with.

The timer was way too low if u ask me especially for no mobility killers like huntress but 60 was way too much. 45 is way more than enough to get to the gen u need to pop

So it says tall, I’m guessing he is actually smaller due to him being hunched over but he seems smaller than average, is this a big? I’m curious as he can barely see over vaults and some grass 😂

from what i've seen he is literally shorter than gens and he can barely see over windows

  • How are the killer perks too good? undying doesn't save tokens for devour and needs a dull totem to even work, blood favor has a cooldown while also being a hex? and dragon grit could be good but once they know u have it they'll just wait the 30 sec out or touch it then hide

Seems to be the trend lately. Thought it would be over with her last nerf, but I guess not.

I had a bit of an idea about 'balancing' her. I keep seeing posts about survivors not having enough information when facing her. Why not allow her husk to trail her? Not actual movement, just blips to her phased self's position a second or two behind, or even a set distance. If she moved twenty meters, her husk blinks 16 meters. Something to that effect.

This would give survivors the general idea of where she is, maybe even use the facing to predict where she was going. She'd be a little easier at loops, since her husk would nearly always be present. Which is why I was thinking it shows up two or three seconds where she last was, so survivors would still need to think ahead for where she's going. Spirit would also be able to use it as another mind game, if chosen.

Again, just a thought. Whether viable, or workable, is beyond me. But her husk is there, why not use it in some fashion?

Won't work its also not needed u can already hear her walk in her phase (similar to wraith when cloaked) u can always look at the environment too for moving grass or crowns flying away. Spirit is fine as she is survivors need to just get used to it and move on, its a 4v1 game with 20 killers most of which are just m1, ppl have the right to play what they like and that doesn't mean it should be nerfed into the ground just cuz they don't wanna use their brain on loops

Every time I suggest something in these forums, there are killer or survivor mains who instantly start revolting at it. It's literally just an idea and they become so instantly disrespectful and disregard the idea in favor of their echo-chamber claims that allow their side to win with ease.

Does anybody on these forums know how to play both sides, gather experience, and use it for productive critique rather than "haha make survivor insta win lol" or "haha make killer overpowered lol"?

There are the select few that come to terms with the idea of balance being needed on some mechanics, but more often than not players just drop useless comments about how they don't like an idea. Hardly ever even criticism.

Can't y'all just, for a moment, try and consider both sides of gameplay? This whole forum is just headbutting 9 times out of 10 and it is toxic.

Wells theres a few of us that look think about both sides cuz we play both sides. But in general the forums are "NeRf NoEd" "nErF sPIriT" "NeRF DS" etc etc. However discussing ideas is my favorite thing to do sadly it almost never happens. And as someone said above if SWF can beat it its not broken, its a 4v1 game the killer has to have some strong reliable things going for them. But things like tunneling and camping are just boring and ######### moves that will never change just like how swf will never change cuz again 4v1.

Huntress has a windup time, noise warning the survivor, and an animation. Deathslinger has none, he can instantly shoot

he has noise notification when aiming at u, he has to aim unlike huntress and an animation oh and actually good hitboxes, he also has to reel u in or break the chain unlike huntress

Except Otz still won his game, the survivors blew their load on one gen and never got another done I believe that game correct?

It would be like a GF instantly gen grabbing someone and hooking them and then never catching anyone the rest of the game.

So whats your point? Survivors shouldn't be punished for making mistakes but killers should
