So I have to use one of the two bad perks on the off chance the killer has noed instead of good perks that help survivability? You realize how dumb that sounds?

u realize how dumb u sound with all your ######### points u are making? if noed is a problem to u do bones thats the counter deal with it

  • I mean he said he can't possibly know how many totems are left on the map if he is not in a swf. Small game detective's hunch and rainbow map would like to know your location.

So how do I how many bones are left when playing solo? Maps like lerys are hard to find totems and in solo you cant tell if anyone broke any or not.

Idk use 1 of the 2 perks that tell u where totems are? or use a map? not like u can't do it buddy i believe in u, i believe u can hold m1 on a totem

So punish survivors for doing their objectively effectively?

I mean can we talk about DS DH borrowed unbreakable etc.? they all punish the killer for what? killing u?

  • @cloakz said:

So today I was playing Xbox dbd with some friends and we kept getting purple rank killers using noed, I counted and we got 15 killers in a row with noed, I thought not a lot of people used it especially in purple ranks. What’s going on?

Whats going on is that ever since the devs destroyed ruin because it was "annoying for low ranks" the gens get done in like 2 mins if its a swf, solo qs usually take a bit longer but mostly what 5 6 mins. Noed is a no skill second chance perk for killers just like DS unbreakable soul guard DH borrowed etc. Best part is that u can easily deny the 1 second chance perk killers have if u just cleansed the totems. What can the killer do to counter DS? slug u? oh wait unbreakable well just hit them again right oh wait soul guard. Plus its not very fun to have 2 gens done by the time u downed 1 person.

  • Cuz survivors will just kill themselves on hook like with the hallowed blight, plus the ranking system is dogshit so imagine u needed 4 kills to get the crown but verse smth u are not supposed to verse. Im red rank on both roles and constantly verse greens and even yellows for whatever reason.

  • The worst ones for me are things like "earn X emblems" or "kick a gen or destroy a pallet 50 times" etc. ye they don't require u to do anything for it cuz its just gameplay but grinding them is so boring and tedious, especially the "unhook X survivors" its just not fun same for the 4 hooks in end game collapse literally requires u to play in a scumbag way to get it

  • @Kolonite said:

it’s toxic to use tier 3 Myers and Oni efficiently now? Lmao

Did u even read what i said? I said slugging for the entire duration of the bleed out timer not slugging cuz of infectious or cuz its oni etc

  • @OldHunterLight said:

So slugging should be a bannable offense? Yeah no, doesn't make sense to me.

But I really haven't seen anyone hard camping, hard tunneling or anything in a long time.

If it's true that you play solo queue, just run DS, unbreakable, BT, and a perk of choice like everyone else.

Because you want a really hard counter to Oni, I slug a lot when playing my main killer which is Oni with his power and getting punished because of it, just doesn't work at least for me.

Not your kind of slugging, slugging for the entire duration of the bleed out timer should be a banable offense as it literally prevents u from playing the game as a survivor.

  • @NightmareReborn said:

I think this might have to do with pyramid head as a character design. He's kind of set up in a way where you can get rewarded/heavily profit from doing scummy things (i.e. Tunneling and slugging). That being said, if you know for a fact that someone is slugging specifically to waste your time (and not simply because they cant find you), then you could maybe report them for trolling, but even then, I'd suggest just moving onto the next game and forgetting about it.

even reporting it doesn't do anything cuz the devs see it as a "play style" slugging 4 ppl for 5 mins just to bleed out on purpose is a play style apparently.

  • @gatsby said:

Pyramid Head shouldn't be able to see the auras of cages. It encourages tunneling too much. The cage spawns are already pretty predictable, so if someone REALLY wanted to tunnel they could probably do it. But it'd be harder and take more time because they didn't know exactly where just the general area.

Cages are meant to be time savers not free passes to tunnel. At least I hope that's what the Devs intended

The cages are already free unhooks for survivors, they always spawn as further away from the killer as possible. Also if he chooses to cross the entire map just to tunnel u then its a waste of time and u can loop either hide or loop him for even more of his time wasted. I know it doesn't give ds which is why people that are bad with him use it to tunnel for easy kills but 9/10 times the caged survivors gets saved instantly

Yup, that's called slugging. It's why Unbreakable exists. Next DLC will come with a perk that allows you to get up from the dying state endlessly if you're being affected by a hex perk. You also have No Mither.

Ye can't wait for Soul Guard its gonna be so much better, that dlc can't come any sooner just 6 more days

You're absolutely right here, the game is so buggy and DC penalty sometimes penalizes players for things that are honestly not our fault (nor our internet connection's fault, before anyone can "if you have a bad connection then don't play bc you're ruining the game for others blah blah blah" me). The being randomly kicked out thing has been happening to my friends too. Lately it has happened a LOT, and we were still talking on Discord as well so it wasn't their internet connection failing. It has even happened that two of them get kicked out from the match at the same time, so... unless both their connections failed at the same time...

Can't wait for both of us to be called out for being "toxic survivor mains" who talk on discord and "bully" killers

  • @johnmwarner said:

I’m not saying every perk has to be meta, or even strong, I mean I’ve made my fair share of silly builds with situational or bad perks. But ToT, how does the team look at the finished product and go, “yeah I could see players using this?”

So kicking a gen and becoming undetectable sounds amazing... except you realize it’s only for 15 second which is not enough time to go anywhere to catch anyone.

But wait, go undetectable and then wait for them to come instantly back and work on the gen, that could work except it highlights the gen yellow so they know you used this perk. Do we really think they’re gonna be trucked into thinking their teammate has better together? If you’re going to bluff a perk at least bluff a perk survivors actually run lol.

And last, but certainly not least, this perk has a cool down. That’s right, as is BHVR habit they create perks that are so bad no one will use them and then top it off with a cool down.

Keep in mind it isn’t only ToT but that’s the newest perk coming out that these factors apply to. Unless it changes drastically on live, like losing the cool down and the yellow aura, it’s just so stupid.

To be fair all of Pyramid head's perks are garbage, in my opinion Forced Penance is even worse as it literally doesn't even do anything. Im getting flashbacks for when Demogorgon came out with his perks, Mindbreaker fun idea could work if it got buffed but as it is its garbage, Cruel Limits should block all windows/vault locations 24m around the killer not the finished gen and then could be useful, and Surge is just competing with so many other gen perks that theres no point in using it instead of (insert gen perks here). For Pyramid head u have things like forced penance makes a survivor who takes a protection hit broken for 30 seconds... so what u already hit them anyway, Trail of Torment could've been a fun perk to use from time to time but the amount of downsides it has makes it not worth to use and finally Deathbound has like 50 conditions before it works and when it does its not even doing anything that useful, Oblivious is fun and stuff but its not useful on perks as there are just way better perks u can be using (even in meme builds)

  • @TotemsCleanser said:

DC penalty is fine as it is.

People should not be forced to continue playing a game if they don't want to. If a game is no longer fun to you, you should not be forced to keep playing it. I understand why people disconnect. Some of you act like people who disconnect are murdering your firstborn when doing so. They're not. It's a game.

You're, however, ruining that match for the other people who are playing (at least a bit). So the punishment of not receiving BP and having the time penalty applied to you is honestly fair. As long as you don't do it very often, it will only be 5 minutes. If it's longer than that, then you're disconnecting too much, thus being a little #########, and you deserve the punishment (I would know, look at my username :P).

Here, however, I am not taking into account network errors ---and most importantly, random game errors. People being punished because the game is buggy and sometimes kicks you out from matches should be fixed asap. But this is not what this post is about, it seems.

I agree with what u say 100%. The issue is that u get the penalty for anything (as i said in the original post) even when the game forces u to leave a bug or it just kicks u out doesn't matter, they need to fix the penalties and make them so if u lose connection u don't get penalized for it or if the game just kicks u out. But ye the entitled killer mains that cry about anything survivors have made it into a ######### hole. But my friend for example had bad connection the other day and kept getting kicked out (we were still talking on discord fine so idk why the game was doing that) and his dc timer got to 15 mins. Which ye wasn't fun for him

  • So judging by the most answers u guys don't even read what i said. I never said ban anyone who slugs, i said that the game i played we all got slugged until we bled out on purpose he could've easily picked us up and hooked us but no he slugged all 3 came after me chased me for 5 mins cuz he can't even mind game pallets and downed me i couldn't see anyone since he had knockout, i said slugging for the entire bleed out timer on purpose should be banable not slugging cuz u saw someone with infectious or whatever theres a big difference between slugging for maximum 1 min and going afk after u downed everyone just to act like a dick in the end game chat like most ######### bubba mains. And yes i don't like versing ppl that just slug for the entire game but i guess u all do since u all say i dislike it, if u are gonna come and just comment smth ######### like that then don't bother. After playing both roles u can really tell that entitled survivors are nowhere near as bad as entitled killer mains on the forums complaining about DS 90% of the time when u could easily not chase the same person that got unhooked, or for gen speed when ye its annoying but its also the only objective survivors have and u have enough perks to try and slow it down but just like unbreakable they are not gonna be useful all the time so u don't run them. Now if u are not actually going to have a conversation about dc penalties and u are just gonna act stupid don't even bother answering i explained my point enough in the thread its there for everyone to read don't read just the title

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1339043#Comment_1339043

Strategy is strategy, it has nothing to do with how toxic the other players are. "Tunneling" is the killer's version of gen rush (AKA: tunneling gens). If one is OK, so is the other.

Hacking is not a thing that's allowed. If you see a hacker, report them.

Yes, slugging is allowed. There are perks that take advantage of it and perks that counter it. Slugging also takes a maximum of 4 minutes, period. There is no way to extend the timer from either side.

First i'd like to apologize to all the gens i have tunneled as a survivor. Now i'd like to hear why killer mains complain about gens when 50% of their perks are specifically designed to slow down gens but when a survivor complains about getting tunneled/camped or slugged theres perks to counter it, well when i use those perks (DS) killer mains say i suck and that im toxic. So can u guys just make up your minds and actually see the game from both sides like me? Just play both roles and u'll see the issues both sides have instead of just being an entitled killer/survivor main.

If the killer is slugging for the sake of letting people bleed out, recover. While the killer is chasing someone else have a survivor run by, tap you and your back on your feet.

Ah yes the 5th survivor can't forget about them. When all 4 of u are slugged just get the 5th one to pick u up how could i forget thx for the help mate

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1339007#Comment_1339007

Ok mate, just because you can't take 4 minutes out of your day because not only you, but your whole team got downed means you've definitely lost, but you should just wait the 4 minutes. I hate being slugged, and I have the same opinion about moris and keys, but it's a viable tactic. It's like asking for tunneling, camping and gen rushing to be bannable.

Camping and tunneling can be a strategic move if survivors are acting all toxic and cocky, gen rushing just isn't a thing as its the survivors' only objective what u are saying is like saying when the killer is hooking survivors ban them. And im not complaining about the 4 mins but about the fact that they introduce dc penalties in a game that allows players to play in a way that makes the game unplayable for others, things like hacking slugging all game until u bleed out, delaying the game for as long as u want (before end game collapse thank god that got introduced). Im just asking for a change/fix for both penalties and how they look at whats banable and now

  • @EvilJoshy said:

Id rather take a slugging killer over a survivor that quits every single time they aren't having their definition of fun and gets away with it. A slugging killer I can work with. I can get better at looping, bring unbreakable or join a swf. A person who quits every time they face against a spirit should be punished. They are screwing their team over as well as the killer and they will never improve. When I play trapper I get quite a few quitters because they DSed me and then stepped in a trap. Then the remaining 3 yell at me for not going easy on them. I'm not at fault here. I am not obligated to go easy on any of you because one of your team quit. You should be yelling at your teammate.

It baffles me the amount of people on these forums that defend quitting. I've never seen any other game that has people defending such bad behavior.

I never defended quitting first of all. Second of all people that dc against certain killers should be penalized yes. I personally enjoy going against Spirit as it is not an easy m1 killer to loop. The situation im talking about are when the killer is slugging all 4 survivors for the whole match on purpose, not just slugging cuz u saw someone with infectious fright. And no u are not obligated to be nice cuz someone DC'd get your points however u can. But getting slugged until u bleed out is just toxic for the game and i say that as i play both roles both red ranks. Another reason why dc penalties should be looked at is the game breaking bugs it has such as getting stuck inside boxes in the shack after getting hooked and u have no choice but to dc if the killer doesn't activate end game, or as killer when a survivor gets stuck when running out of the exit gates. Again not defending quitting whenever u verse smth "boring" but when its actually excusable

  • @Cheers said:

This is completely fine. Use those 4 minutes for something else such as going on your phone, or do other things in real life, such as talk to family, friends or roommates, or even if you live alone than you can do something else.

Additionally there are perks for slugging, mainly tenacity and Unbreakable.

Finally, they'll never make a legitimate tactic that's viable a bannable offence. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it should be bannable.

So in your opinion i should run every perk just in case i get in that situation unbreakable is useless 99% of the time but game changing that 1% of games. Also i guess u enjoy getting slugged on the ground since its just smth I don't enjoy but everyone loves, just like how everyone loves moris and keys. Your point just makes no sense and if i as a player am not allowed to play the game cuz some kid had a bad day how is that my fault and why should i get penalized instead of the kid

I'll give you that, but i'd say that's part of Deathslinger's power. He has a shorter terror radius, very long range, and gives Deep wounds. His weaknesses are that survivors can break through the chain, and he's a 110% killer and he has only 1 shot before he reloads.

Pyramid head has the cages so he can dodge DS/deliverance etc. He has a ranged attack that is less range than deathslingers but it goes through walls, doesn't have to reload. He also gets Killer instinct on the trails and still gets to keep the 115% movement speed.

My point is that Pyramid Head just seems like a much better deathslinger. Similar to how freddy is basically a much better clown because his power is very similar but he also can teleport to gens and has the wakeup/dreaming stuff.

Deathslinger just like Huntress is a long range killer, his 24m terror radius allows him to sneak up to survivors and shoot them before they can react, Pyramidhead has a 32m terror radius is very loud just dragging his blade around and his attack is almost like a demo lunge range, it doesn't give deepwound either. Deathslinger can play around with survivors faking his scope cuz of his fast windup time while Pyramidhead has a much longer delay before he can use his attack which has limited turn speed and locks him in place plus it shows the survivors where it will appear and if they have half a brain they'll dodge it. Making deathslinger 115 will make him busted with everything he already has (deep wound, range, good hitbox so u can shoot through the wall cracks) not only can he shoot u but he reels u towards him which justifies for his speed and even if they break the chain they get injured (if not already)

  • I see everyone talking about how the thong doesn't fit Claudette (which i agree im really disappointed that this won). But has anyone thought for a second how will this actually look in game, with in game hair graphics and in game Claudette face? Awful, the art is rly nice and in a cute style but imagining that clothing on the Claudette we have in game just makes me laugh, just go take a look at her in game and image her with that.

I'm currently playing killer again after a long tine and reached rank 1 because I'm playing spirit lol....with any other killer I would have literally killed myself .-.

Yes sadly if you want to have 4k every game and get a lot of points you will have to play Spirit or Nurse but since her nerfs she has become way more difficult and a lot of people have stopped playing her. Imagine trying to get to rank 1 with someone like Plague who barely gets any points even with 4k's.

  • @Deadeye said:

I think the main problem is, that you don't even need offerings to start as a team, and from what I experienced so far, it is also common that the teams spawn pretty far away from the killer. I even had it several times now that I didn't even need to press W, just M1 because I started DIRECTLY facing the gen in the killer shack. With another survivor in the shack that needed to take ONE step. Two seconds later a third came in. That is pretty much what happened in OTz's game, and probably one of them had Prove Thyself (80s / 3 = 26,6s)

And we didn't need an offering for that. I think 3-teams should not be possible without offerings, and there should be equal chances to have 2 single spawns pls one team, 4 single survivors and 2 two-man-teams (or probably the double teams with less probability, like 20%/40%/40%). But in most of my games I don't spawn alone.

Second thing, you shouldn't spawn near a gen, you should need to search one. For me this is only the case in indoor maps so far. This might be difficult to spawn gens, survivors, killers ant totems and none of them should see each other. But something needs to happen

That is also an issue yes but otherwise if the survivors weren't close together they might be too close to the killer, i think thats the reason why you often spawn with 1 or 2 teammates. Spawning next to gens can be easily fixed but its not gonna take them a long time to find a generator since maps are so open, thats why closed maps favor the killers alot, the survivors often don't spawn next to gens and also have to look for them, but in open maps you easily see the light of a gen behind a wall or in a gen gym. Also thank you guys for the serious conversations and not being moronic trolls, its a serious issue in the game and killers that aren't Spirit or Nurse can't do anything on huge maps as someone said above.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/140118/just-pressure-gens

Okay I'll try to be calm about this, cause you're clearly upset, and I have to assume I'm going to get some defensive response but here goes.

Just to get something out of the way, I was a rank 1 killer main before Ruin, I'm still a rank 1 killer after ruin. Ruin was something you didn't even see at red ranks because most red rank survivors can hit great skill checks quite regularly, so it wasn't quite the crutch for red ranks as it was for lower ranks.

So it begs the question, how on earth did those red rank killers survive without the crutch that was Hex: Ruin? The answer was "pressure" but not "gen pressure" because that doesn't exist. If you play your game around solely trying to defend generators you will lose that war of attrition eventually. These are the three types of pressure a killer can exert on survivors.

    1. Kill and Hook Pressure, continually downing survivors and getting them on hooks forces survivors to leave generators and unhook them. The higher this pressure, the farther generators slowdown.
    2. Direct Generator Regression, this involves going to priority generators and regressing them with perks like pop goes the weasel, goes hand in hand with pressure type 1.
    3. Injury Pressure, getting survivors injured so they decide to heal instead of doing generators, understandably a situational pressure at best.

The only pressure that is guaranteed to slow the game down is pressure type 1, kill pressure, you have to be downing and hooking survivors constantly. For some killers it's not even worth it to invest in generator perks because you won't have the ability to maximize them anyway, for them the only perks and builds should be designed around downing and hooking survivors as consistently as possible.

Something I learned when I started not bringing Ruin as I got to higher and higher ranks was that I came to the startling realization that I was not nearly as good at chases as I thought I was. By being carried by Ruin, I had gotten away with longer chases, over and over, now without Ruin (and really no help from it even if I did have it as I was now in red ranks) those longer chases were showing up as major disadvantages over and over. I had to improve, drastically, in my ability to chase effectively, give up bad chases, know when to slug, when to juggle, all those skills flowered because I gave up Ruin.

NOW, this is not me saying that Ruin wasn't useful, particularly as it covered up one of the most glaring issue with the game which is map size. Some maps are so effing huge for killers it is very much a losing proposition. Ormond, Disturbed Ward, Rotten Fields are great examples where no matter how much pressure you exert this map is going to be a tough win if the survivors play well. Ideally they should have waited to rework Ruin until these map issues were addressed but this is the game where it stands currently and if you want to succeed you will need to adapt.

Also that Otz video does show a generator go really fast, but it also shows him ending up with a 4k doesn't it?

No i wasn't upset i just think that ever since the ruin nerf its even more obvious how insane gen speeds are, and its no one's fault but the devs because its all the survivors need to do its their objective. And i know that Ruin wasn't as useful in high ranks as i am also in purple to red (mostly purple cuz i simply don't want to go in red ranks with all the swf's) but Ruin still slowed the gens because not everyone was able to hit greats and they's lose time searching for the totem unless they spawned right next to it which is an issue with hex totems on its own. Also knowing when to drop chases when to slug etc. is a common killer knowledge its game sense as some might call it. And finally yes i know Otz got a 4 man but im just pointing out gen speed, not saying he lost his game because of it.

Did the dates got confirmed somewhere or are these still assumptions?

They were confirmed in the latest post 22nd till the 1st. Its a very short time for the amount of grind required to get the skins. Considering people go to work and school.

  • The dedicated servers are much better than the first time we tried them on the otb before stranger things. On live atm Q times are alot better for killers which is always good, the ping is good and stable i haven't had ping above 150 in my experience. Only issues are the hitboxes feel much worse, and on killers like Plague and Huntress theres a huge delay when vomiting/throwing a hatchet, and on Pig when you use the ambush she roars twice and theres also a delay on that. I've heard Myers goes in tier 3 twice too, but can't confirm since i haven't tried it myself. Overall the connections are good tho, just hitboxes and delay on the killer's powers.
