An idea I came up with to change Dying Light's mechanics to make it more powerful, yet keep it's core the same:
You become obsessed with one survivor.
Whenever you hook the Obsession, the perk activates for 180 Seconds. Hooking the Obsession depletes all tokens. Whenever you hook a survivor other than the Obsession while the perk is active, gain a token.
While the perk is active, survivors have a 6% speed penalty to all actions, plus an additional 2/3/4% for each token.
The Killer can only be obsessed with one survivor at a time.
This would re-introduce the idea of making Dying Light a perk where you want to go after the obsession, but does not encourage tunneling. It also accounts for perks light Furtive Chase and Nemesis; hooking numerous obsessions would give you the base 6% speed penalty, but nothing more.
Let me know what you all think! :)
Uhh this looks like a nerf to me.. Dying Light lasts the entire game currently and can stack like crazy if you use Nemesis. With your rework, you'd only have 3 minutes to get a little regression and then it disappears.

This is the one thing I never understood.. if the game isn't supposed to be competitive; why is there a DC penalty to begin with?

Thank you for the explanation. Would be nice if the game could explain that itself propperly...
But annyway, I don´t think that thats a good way for the emblem to work. I mean: 8 hooks are a realy good job, but you can still only get bronze. Ore withn six hooks none emblem. That´s stupid. And it rewards camper heavily. Kill everyone on first hook=Gold. Double amount of hooks but no kill= bronze. Sometimes I realy don´t understand the devs...
It does; you just have to know where to look.
The DEVOUT Emblem represents your ability to sacrifice and kill Survivors
Each Survivor eliminated from the Trial grants points. Sacrifices, Memento Moris and Reverse Bear Trap kills grant the same amount of points.
No points are awarded for Survivors that bleed out.
Your goal is to gain as many points as possible for this Emblem:
- 0 points: starting value
- 2 points: awarded for each Sacrifice
- 2 points: awarded for each Kill
- 0 points: for each bleed-out death
- 2 points: awarded for each Disconnect
- 1 point: awarded for having hooked all Survivors at least once
- 1 point: a bonus awarded after having hooked all Survivors a combined total of 9 time
10 Points are needed for Iridescent

If i opt out of cross platform play i end i up waiting 45 minutes for 4 man swf group. :u BHVR Ples do something dont make me choose between laggy, one sided games and waiting 45 minutes.
Thats all across the board my friend.. If PC players turn off crossplay; we sit for 20+ minutes and get the same people over and over again in matches. Queue times are pretty miserable right now.

That seems to be pointing out the huge flaws with the gen regress mechanic more than anything inherently negative about long games that are longer because of other reasons.
Yeah.. We were up against a Trapper with POP... middle gen was the shack which he had trapped up.

So, well, looks like the DC penalty is up again.
Whats the effect?
Had a few matches today, where survivor killed themself at the first hook, resulting in 3.5k points, 5.6 k points and so on, for the survivors.
But how, ffs, can it be possible, that i de-piped every of this games, cause i didnt got the requested miniumum of hooks? Why should the killer get punished, when a survivor decides not to play the game, because he didnt liked the killer, the map, got grabbed, or just because of reasons.....
Bout 7 destroyed pallys, 3 gens kicked with pop, downed 3 survivors, and of course, one escape cause hatch mechanic is really just bs. And i depip.... I dont even had a chance to do my chases, hooks or anything for an emblem, cause this guys decided to kill themselves.
Please, for the love of god, after nearly 4k hours i´m used to bs when playing this game, but seriously....
What about the "husk", devs where talking a year ago, when someone dc´s. Literally everyone trying to play the game as intended gets fu by this behaviour, the other survivors having not that much chance of escaping, and the killers cause they de-pip.
What about that:
Survivor dc´s - give the killer the full aequvalent of hooks for this survivor.
Survivor kills himself intentionally - same.
Both mechanics should just work, if the killer doesnt trigger the proximity, so camping someone will not result in given points...
Same should work for the other survivors, give them the heals and the unhooks.
"Survivor kills himself intentionally - same." - They cant do this because there's no way to determine if the player actually killed himself.. so killers would just facecamp people to rank 1.

PC NA EST, it used to be instant survivor queues all the time, and ~15+ minute killer queues during the day, every day, until about 10:30 PM and then they would be instant, with a huge influx of South American players, but I would have to go to bed after a game or two.
Weird.. Im NA and mine use to be near instant from 6-11 EST.. but ever since crossplay was released, they've been taking 10+ minutes

Windows of Opportunity is an S Tier perk.
Shows what windows/pallets are available to you.
Shows if pallets have been dropped.
Shows if a killer is destroying a nearby pallet.

10-12 minutes is the sweet spot for me as both killer and survivor... I've had some games where our team was stuck in a 3 gen situation last for 30+ minutes and it just gets boring and exhausting.

I usually support such things, but not for dbd.
People would exploit it to see as survivor or killer, the whole map at all times. Have seen it in other games before, like as example Counter Strike.
This.. I was on the PTB earlier and the difference between Low and Ultra settings is insane. Low makes it 100X easier to see in maps and ultra makes things super dark.

So I checked in on the forums today because of the rush of activity from a new killer. I checked the new perks, survivors got a meh, a situational and a a strong perk. The new killers perks sound extremely bonkers to me. I think the new hex perk is kind of overhyped as a hex build type thing and also soul guard exists. The other two perks seem kind of strong. And of course, with every new strong addition to killer or every new weak addition to survivors, people come to the forums to complain about both the weak survivor perks and strkng killer perks.
I wont deny that the killers perks are strong but to say that its “making the game unfair for survivors” or “killing survivors fun with every new update” thats just overreacting. Are killers not supposed to get strong perks anymore, according to dome posts, killers have no build variety, which is untrue but even if it is, arent these perks what you wanted to shake up the meta.
Its not like these perks are uncounterable, dragons grip looks like its made to counter gen tapping, and the other two perks are hexes, which have already existing counters in the form of soul guard and inner strength. Its not like these perks are uncounterable at all.
Getting upset that the survivor perks are meh is very funny to me because killers have gotten used to getting bad perks with every new killer ever since plague while survivors have had many arguably strong, yet overshadowed perks. I shouldnt be surprised that survivors are upset, but please, cant you just let killers finally have strong perks to work with.
You know why? Because the survivors got absolutely nothing from this..
Visionary -
You see gen auras within 32 meters (has a 20 second cooldown once a gen is complete)- Deja Vu is better and immediately shows 3 gens off the start of the match.Desperate Measure -
+10% Healing/Unhook speed per injured/downed/hooked survivor (40% max) -Botany & Knowledge gives a base healing speed of 33% and increases item efficiency without any requirements.Built To Last -
Once per trial refill a depleted items charges by 30% after 10 seconds -Do I even have to explain how bad this perk is? It'll give a purple medkit 9 charges which isnt enough for a single heal. The only thing this might give is 1 extra flashlight blind. -
So... Botany & Knowledge gives a base 33% to healing speed and item efficiency; Desperate Measures gives +10% for every survivor that's injured. Which means you have to have at least 3 people just to get close to B&K healing speeds and all 4 need to be injured for a 7% increase. At most you'll receive a 73% increase to healing, which dissipates the second someone gets healed and can be completely useless.
Why would you run 2 perks just to increase healing speed, when you can run We'll Make It or B&K and a Medkit? Better yet, why would you run 2 situational healing perks when there are chances you might not even get a heal off? Or...you go up against a plague where you don't heal period?

Because that's exactly how we used it as a tracking perk? If it was white, we knew we didnt have to worry about it.. if its red we knew to run to it.. but now we have to wonder if it just finished regressing or if someones working on it.

Not always; i've had matches where someone left at the start of the game and managed to get escapes with all 3 people still alive. (Non-farming)

This has been a long-standing thing for years. Using a controller and using a mouse & keyboard are completely different skill-sets.
One thing that I would like to see these PC elitists do is actually pick up a controller, plug it into their PC's and see how well THEY do.
I've been playing console for 18 years, and I've never seen so much prejudice towards console users. I mean, we're all gamers and we have enough sh*t to deal with externally. I don't see why we now need to divide OURSELVES further.
I have used a controller and my game play dropped dramatically.. The problem between PC and Console gamers aside from the 30 vs 60+ fps is that PC players are able to do a lot more control wise, than a controller user can. We have macros for struggling, we can moonwalk, we can 360 and it's a lot easier to run while looking behind us in chase.
Some PC players just fail to realize that console gamers have to play with a completely different mindset, due to their limitations. The main thing i've seen when it comes to console players is that they're a lot more "careful"? They tend to crouch around the map more than PC players would and when a killer is around, they are hesitant to rush in to try and go for a save.

a) The hill glitch that happens in both McMillan and Azarovs is extremely annoying. The fact that some killers take advantage of it and still hook you shows a lack of sportsmanship by taking advantage of a glitch. I am a ps4 red rank in both sides. I had to leave slugged more than 5 survivors so far who got glitched in the hill.
b) Yesterday I played with a PC Hillbilly who took advantage of the glitch and hooked the Jane. I have come across other PS4 killers like myself after disabling crossplay who have a lot more sportsmanship than PC killer mains and when the survivor gets glitched they leave them slugged.
C) I even let a Nancy escape who was the last remaining survivor in the map and the poor thing got glitched in the hill trying to get to the hatch. I closed the hatch for the points, let her wiggle out and open the gate and leave because I am not taking unfair advantage of a game glitch because it shows no sportsmanship as a gamer.
D) A lot of PC killers are hackers. I've seen way too many videos on youtube of people saying how easy it is for them to hack and now console players who have an FPS big disadvantage against PC players have to deal with that nonsense too.
E) I don't care if the game was dying in PC because only an estimate of 30k were playing daily. The devs seem to care more about their game than protecting the community and making the game fair and equal for everyone. The controllers are way easier to manage in PC than console and they have the 60FPS advantage which is huge for a PC killer against Console survivors.
F) In conclusion, if the devs want to establish console and PC crossplay, fix the FPS, fix the hitbox already, fix the servers, fix the hacker problem in PC and fix the glitches in the game!!!
*******P.S: I know not all PC players are the same. I am not generalizing, this is towards those who show lack of sportsmanship by taking advantage of glitches and exploiting the game**********

Easy. Co-op actions for 180 seconds? No big deal! ...that's what I thought.
My fellow survivors kept leaving gens when I jump on them, standing up to just point or teabag, constantly failing skill checks, dragging the killer over to us, or some other nonsense. I started joining matches and actively avoiding any generator unless someone else was on it. I show up, they get off the gen and leave.
I started playing to finish this challenge yesterday. It has been a collective 12 hours for me to finish this one challenge of just doing co-op actions for 180 seconds.
Survivors. Seriously. Stop being stupid and fix those generators!
So let me get this straight..
12 Hours.. that's 720 minutes. Most matches last about 10-15 minutes; with queue times taking 5-8 minutes. So say at most each match took 30 minutes to find and complete (Which is a MASSIVE stretch), you're trying to tell us it took you 24 matches to finish 3 minutes worth of coop action?
Have a really hard time believing this, since it usually takes me 1-2 matches to finish it.

Before with post game chat I knew I was going to at least be acknowledged most of the time, Maybe I annoyed someone or maybe our team made a good play, now there is no point to stay and spectate a game if you die to see how it plays out because you can't talk to anyone anyway.
Am I the only one who feels like this?

Nurse was a guess game from the start, as soon as someone breaks line of sight all the nurse can do is guess whereas survivors with their superior third person vision can see you around corners. There was no reason to give her power a cooldown, absolutely none. Look at her stats now, she went from being the most liked killer to the least liked one. I feel like my sister was abused bruh....

Yeah while thats true, its very unlikely to have spine chill and Resilience active in a stable manner. So if you are hurt more of a maybe 10% increase. Because it depends on how often you do these things while hurt it could be around maybe 5% overall.
If you bring Selfcare or a Medkit and 99% yourself you could get more %. If you have No Mither maybe 10%.
I dunno; i'm perfectly fine playing my matches injured to have the constant 9% to everything and the extra bonus from Spine Chill when it procs.

Run another perk that isn't just useful at brown ranks like spine chill or deliverence.
Stop wasting a perk slot on DS?... Not sure if this is a troll post or serious. If it's end game and you decide to hook me/camp me; you can be damn sure im telling my team to farm me off the hook. DS/Dead Hard/Tenacity is an easy escape at end game and there's nothing you can do to stop it.
