I always thought David looked like younger Vinnie Jones, and figured it was probably on purpose given the similar background
-
The locker hiding Megs who walk to a locker and hide in it in front of the killer right after getting hit while still in chase, bonus points if they don't even have quick and quiet.
-
I was initially interested in Blight because of the Dr. Jekkyl and Mr. Hyde backstory and aesthetic, always dig spoopy creatures in hoods and rags. Also love his gameplay since I'm a big fan of fast mobility characters in games and love and collect pinball machines.
Oni and Nurse I like more for the aesthetics than the gameplay, even though they both can be fun in smaller doses but not as consistently enjoyable as Blight.
And as for Nemesis, it's hard not to enjoy the visceral thrill of punching survivors until they fall down.
-
Bots seem the same to me from when I played a lot against them on the PTB. They definitely do better on certain maps/tiles or against certain killers, particularly range ones. Sometimes if they get a flashlight they can blind you with surprising accuracy, sometimes a couple of times within one chase.
Also they've been using vaccines/items since the PTB as well.
-
I ran around t-bagging as Ghostface until everyone DCed in a game, no one was hit even once
-
Grim Pantry/Pale Rose are the ones I never enjoy seeing
Also don't like Coldwind maps and Dead Dawg because I find it hard to see in first person with all the yellows, oranges, and brown
I haven't done too badly with Garden and Eyrie as Blight considering all the collision problems but they still suck
-
Also make sure to play some games as No Blink Nurse, you will be surprised when it works and you get that 4k.
-
Starting out I found the survivor side much easier to get a handle on in terms of learning maps and identifying objectives and loops due to the third person view, I play a lot of third person games like Dark Souls, Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, etc. so maybe that is why. Killer's FOV is also really bad without shadowborn for me so that was a big hurdle to get over. I think the ease of either side may depend a lot on what perspective (1st or 3rd) you prefer. Of course with survivor you are dependent on your teammates and when I started playing about a year ago in solo queue I don't remember my teammates being as new to the game/bad as they seem to be now.
-
Most fun killer to play as for me, always play him with Shadowborn and usually without addons although the extra speed ones make him even more flowy and are a lot of fun. All the other killers begin to feel too slow and clunky after playing him for a while. I love pinball and playing Blight can be like first person pinball where you can directly control the ball and do some crazy bump logic/lethal geometry and get in a relaxing flow state. I think I would have probably stopped playing DBD within the first 50 hours or so if I didn't start playing Blight then.
His aesthetic is awesome (spooky hood, fancy cane, gargling screams, crazy eyes, and goopy face, yes please) and he has my favorite cosmetic in the game, the Ferryman skin. His Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde inspired back story is cool and his somber menu music is great. I hope if BHVR does change him, in regards to his collisions and hug tech, they won't mess him up too much but it's been a good run.
-
Sometimes I get 3 Swamp maps in a row and I regret all the decisions in my life that led me to playing DBD at that moment in time. I'm not sure why maps repeat so frequently, I wonder if it's a bug rather than RNG
-
I use 6400 DPI for everything on PC, don't like moving my mouse much generally, and it works well for Blight and Billy
-
I haven't leveled up any survivor past level 6, so I only play with two tier 1 perks. I've escaped over 700 times with Kindred and WGLF (pre patch for bloodpoints bonus to spend on killers) at tier 1 on David in solo queue and usually ended up in the top 2 scoring survivors for the match and have most of the survivor achievements that aren't adepts or having a full loadout. Also have escaped with hundreds of items from trial chests. My escape rate is lower after the patch but I still do well with scoring and got buffed with the basekit BT. If I stay interested in the game long term, I plan to eventually level up all survivors to level 15 and only play them with their specific perks and maybe one universal perk like kindred as a fourth. I will probably stop maining David then since that would mean No Mither all the time, but that could be fun.
As killer I almost never use addons and have hundreds of alchemist rings/crows/rats on Blight, my main. Also always have shadowborn equipped because need the FOV to avoid motion sickness/headaches.
-
Blight for both sweat and fun but different builds.
Also Billy and Oni for fun, and some Dredge and Demo
-
Oni is my third favorite after Blight and Billy. The extra orbs right now does make him much more fun since gathering the blood is the least interesting part of playing him for me. I do prefer how Blight and Billy aren't dependent on hitting survivors first for their base mobility so those killers feel more consistently flowy and fun and less stop and go like Oni. Also Oni has my second favorite collection of cosmetics after Blight, especially love the Minotaur and Demon's End skins.

Blight and Freddy (Sorry @GeneralV )
Blight because I can’t be bothered to learn how to traverse the map and what I can and cannot bump off of. I tried doing that rift challenge where he has to hit six survivors after doing a rush and couldn’t do more than 2. I have more respect for Blight mains now, even though most of them play like their life depends on winning.
Freddy is just so uninteresting and uninspired. Nothing like I thought he would be when I thought about the Movie Freddy. I never played the old Freddy (they reworked him before I started playing) and hope for the sake of my dear friend that they rework him and give him back his old power with some QoL improvements.
With Blight it's easy to get into a flow state and it becomes almost effortless to careen around the map and string hits together. Purposely breaking that flow becomes weird so I think that makes Blight players appear like they're playing super intense and sweaty when for me it's actually quite relaxing to play him because of the constant flow. It's like when you are winning at pinball and keep getting all the jackpots.
I guess I'd refund Sadako since I haven't played her still, but I do like her perks on other killers. Artist is another killer I've only played a couple of times.

I just want a fov slider for motion sick players. Have had it in my builds for years because i have to. It sucks just looking at my build missing 1 perk which i could use for true synergy but shadowborne has to take the slot.
Same, I also have to use lightborn in all my builds so I don't trigger migraine headaches from unexpected blinds. It would be nice if that animation could be changed to a black or grey screen and not a horrible bright strobing effect.

We're going to need a bigger gen.

Tbh I don’t find the series enjoyable to watch the first couple of streams. It’s just too easy for them. Dowsey tries to hype up the games with his “OMG my heart is racing” commentary but it never really looks like they’re in much danger. You can tell Otz legitimately feels sorry for some of the killers they’re facing as well. But this is “me” issue rather than them. I’m looking forward to when they consistently get tough matches.
The three killers I would love to see them face are a cracked nurse, a camping Bubba and a tombstone Myers. I’d be fascinated to see what tactics they use.
Same. I think at least 4 killers have DC'd presumably because they kept stomping them so thoroughly. It'd be cool if there were more restrictions like you can't change a survivor once you pick them until they die or you can only use a survivor's three specific perks and one general perk when you play them. Still it's a very cool series and I'm glad they are doing it, just wish the stakes felt higher for each game.
-
I have more problems with the flashlight blind/strobing animations in terms of nausea and headaches, wish that animation would be changed to a blacked out screen. They probably won't change it until a streamer has a seizure or something. I did the orange glyph challenge on Blight with shadowborn, which I always have on to deal with motion sickness. The orange lethal rush effect was in the same area as the glyph effect so I didn't notice the swirling very much and I always play with the sound low so didn't notice the noise either. I'd definitely recommend trying shadowborn if you have to do the challenge.
-
I didn't have too much success the first 50-75 hours until I found a killer I really liked in terms of their power. Once I started playing as Blight the game really opened up for me with the increased mobility from rushing and the FOV increase from using the shadowborn perk, which helped with the motion sickness I'd get in general from killer games. I got a better feel for maps and tiles since I could move around them faster and see more. It was fun to learn more about the mechanics since the gameplay felt more rewarding and had constant flow instead of the slow, lumbering walking simulator feel that standard killers have for me.
Then I played survivor more and more and enjoyed the change of pace. The map knowledge and survivor behavior I observed from my killer games helped a lot. Now I switch between both roles on a constant basis. Also I like going through all the past tome challenges and focusing on those as another objective instead of just kills and escapes.

I think more people are playing killer because they have never been as strong. Therefore with less survivors they are just throwing all manner of MMR together. I swear I got into games with people with only 24hrs in the game. I've been playing for over four years now. Yikes. Then you have people who have lost so much they are giving up and can care less about the objectives. They are just getting points while the getting is good and insta-saving.
I haven't seen perks like devour used in quite a while. Why? Killers are not leaving the hook anymore. Why should they? They can camp to second state and still only 1-2 gen pops then tunnel the person off death hook. It's a crapshow out there.
I had the same thought about the recent games in relation to MMR. I have had several "Walking Megs" who don't even run and I can be right behind them as Blight not hitting/rushing and they keep walking forward without looking behind them.

Tofu and spooky are great. They're wildly popular, and for good reason. Feel free to stop by mine if you want. I play killer. I'm at coty_baker/ttv. I do variety. It's a lot of demo, clown, blight, nurse, slinger. Also try checking out Ralph. Cracked huntress and hilarious. KaiZ is just a cracked 10k hour player in general. And an all around funny and wholesome guy. I recommend them both.
Cool channel, like the little bit I saw! Hope to stop by later. I also really love LilithOmen, always have fun on his streams and he's the most entertaining DBD streamer for me of the ones I've seen
-
Artist, Trickster, and Legion
Legion I don't mind playing once in a while, but the other two aren't fun to play as or face for me
Blight is by far the killer I have the most fun playing as but rarely face as survivor
-
Midwich with Dredge is super easy mode, lockers everywhere and Nightfall is so dark
-
FFXIV, Monster Hunter Rise/Iceborne, any Souls game, Mario Party, Risk, Touch Grass the Home Game
-
I p1'd almost all of my killers except for Blight, Oni, Billy, Pyramid Head, Nemesis, and Nurse since I have all perks on them. I assume I will have to get all other killers to level 15 after the update before I can have 4 perks slots again so I am saving up bloodpoints.

Why ask question in a bite title that you answer yourself: "oh killer sided patch, solo queue is destroyed"
You do realize that whether kill rates are too high or too low is not up to devs to decide. If people disagree with devs, they leave.
Also, regardless kill rates, I don't know of any person who enjoys just sitting next to gen and occasionally pressing space bar and asked to have more of that "engaging" gameplay in each match.
There are definitely a lot of stealthy immersed survivors who I assume enjoy the gen simulator game on some level since they try their best not to engage with the killer the whole trial.

Bloodhound will be the new rage with killers. Mark my words.
Since I have problems seeing the current scratch marks consistently, new lightweight will make things much worse. I already have to run shadowborn and lightborn as accesibility perks to prevent motion sickness and headaches. 1 perk killer here I come!
-
I find killer is more fun since I can get in a flow state while playing a high mobility killer like Blight, there isn't too much break in the action so I feel more engaged by always being on the move the entire trial and able to come back from most minor mistakes. Survivor is generally more relaxing for me but less fun since it's very stop and start when i go from doing gens to being chased to waiting to get a unhook/stun or on the hook.

Pleased to meet you Chad Lightborn user.
I am Jonathan Lightborn user (no relation).
I hate being blinded at pallets and during pickups so much I will essentially play every game with only 3 perks because Lightborn is permanently equipped on every killer.

S(C)hadowborn and Lightborn user here, 2 perk slots so I don't vomit and get headaches

Christine, the red 1958 Plymouth Fury. This game needs some vehicular manslaughter.
-
Handheld mode on the Switch is the worst for this even with the system's maximum brightness fully turned up.
-
I haven't leveled a survivor up past level 6 since I don't want to feel too OP, especially with teammates always running meta. Kindred and WGLF at tier 1 are all I need for solo queue.

Ahh don’t even get me started on autohaven console edition lol.
Claudette can blend in out in the open D:
In Switch handheld mode you can barely see anything on most dark maps even with the system's brightness turned all the way up, autohaven is pure eye strain.
-
There are a lot on the Japan server, probably 1/4 of games if you play every lobby you enter, you can notice them in the lobby usually if the killer keeps readying and unreadying. Most people, myself included, dodge them when they notice. My favorite I encountered was an AFK Blight that had a macro set up to spin around, lethal rush and attack. He ended up going across the whole map.
-
I'd like to see gameplay of tier 1 object of obsession with tier 1 no mither so the killer is always aware of where you are
-
Oni with shadowborn is almost as nice as SB Blight. Also Minotaur Oni is probably my second favorite cosmetic in the game. All hail Kaz, long may he run
-
For me after playing a fair amount of Blight and Nurse most of the other killers become boring to play because it's hard to recover from mistakes and there isn't the same speed and flow to the gameplay with that constant action. With Blight and Nurse it feels like you can almost always pull off some fun and big moves at any point in the match even if you don't win at least you aren't stumbling to an imminent and boring defeat after a bad beginning.
-
I like how Bubba isn't included in the Blight and Nurse hate threads and vice versa generally. Bubba is the first roadblock killer for survivor mains
-
I've noticed the general math of 1 kill before 2 gens are done usually leads to the 4k even if it's a SWF with full meta

People really need to stop pretending like 100% of solo games are people hiding in corners and/or dcing at first hook. Sure are some games garbage? of course. But not every solo game is a slaughterhouse.
True, I escape 70% of my solo games and use only 2 perks (kindred and WGLF). I don't think I'm particularly skilled either, and have only about 150 hours in survivor so maybe I'm not high MMR but I have been facing Blights and Nurses with meta slowdown more than other killers so I assume I'm approaching an upper level. I do like being underpowered as a survivor since it adds a lot of tension to the game.
-
FOV slider, hook state info, basekit tinkerer or surveillance
-
I think it's because they like you, they want to spend the whole game with you, why else would they keep chasing you for 5 gens?
-
I've seen that hack while playing as survivor against a hag. The three of us who weren't the hacker survivor purposely died to the hag because we all must have agreed it was bs. We weren't a SWF but in the post game chat we were on the same wavelength.
-
I get Huntress, Nurse, Blight, Doctor, Trickster, Ghostface, and Wraith more than Bubba (who is tied with Nemesis and Myers) since I've been keeping track of stats for my 200 or so matches this month, guess it all depends on region, time of day, MMR, random chance, etc.
-
That would be nice and should be easy to implement. I have the game on Switch and PC, so I often do practice kyf games with a survivor on Switch in handheld mode and practice as killer on PC.
-
Thank you for your service. When I play survivor I have to make due with camping Huntress and Trickster. Bubba is better, only seen him once in my last 100 survivor games which is kind of crazy, but thankfully he did camp
I'm still disappointed Franklin from TCM isn't a survivor, but at least he has a perk named after him
-
It's more fun to handicap yourself and play survivor with no perks or only a couple of off brand perks so you have a more intense game with back and forth, otherwise the game tends to play like a monotonous speedrun challenge every time with survivors gen rushing
-
Good RNG for Lilith who is highly skilled too and bad survivors, fair.
