  • I'm hoping for "scrapped entirely" or at least making it optional feature you can turn off because I wouldn't want all that info when playing solo queue, seems like it would remove a lot of tension and suspense from the game if you know what all your teammates are doing almost the entire game

There are lots of great guides for all the killers out there but lots of them are pre-Circle of Healing which throws a giant wrench in the spokes. For variety killer players that run strong builds, I've been really enjoying d3ad_plays recently. He's really great at explaining what he's doing in the match and why. He's kind of like Fungoose but doesn't talk at 100 mph.

Sadly, a lot of great killer players have been giving up DbD cause of the MMR/boons

Oh, if you really like Blight, I recommend LilithOmen, he's crazy with him. He sounds like he did an 8 ball before each stream lmao

LilithOmen is awesome, such a positive and nice dude, always have a good time in his streams and he's one of the very best at chat interaction

  • I only have a couple hundred hours in the game but it is hard to imagine continuing to play DbD in its current state with Monster Hunter Rise PC, Dying Light 2, Elden Ring, and Horizon Forbidden West all being released over the next 7 weeks. The gameplay loop for both killer and survivor is getting kind of stale to me, but when I do have a really fun and flowy game as Blight I forget the bad and boring matches.

    I am bad as Nurse.

I have never ever touched her before (for more than a game a year) and this is my first time even attempting to learn her.

She makes me kinda motion-sick and the teams I am going against are very much not willing to give me chases.

Using Shadowborn helped me a lot with the motion sickness from the Nurse blinks and head shakes, I can't play her without it now. Also after maining Blight my Nurse games go so much smoother now and I can consistently 3-4k, but there are still the blink bugs that pop up fairly frequently for me. I'm also trying to remain hopeful that the Nurse rework fixes those problems.

  • LilithOmen is pretty much the only DbD streamer I need in my life and he's not stopping

I wasn't speaking about the HUD, but about the wiggle mechanics/toggle option.

Fair point, I think options for all would be good, I don't want the extra HUD hints to be forced on me if I'd rather not know what other survivors are doing

  • When I play survivor it's always solo queue and I haven't found it that frustrating, I escape around 70% of the time while staying at level 6 and only using the perks Kindred and WGLF, I play survivor for the tome challenges and dump the bloodpoints into killers

I'm still relatively new to the game and particularly survivor after maining killer for about 150 hours, but have escaped over 100 times and got almost all the map specific generator escape achievements and the ones for rescuing 100 survivors/500 skill checks/vault 200 times in chases/etc. in about 60 hours of survivor gameplay. I could just be lucky with the teammates I get and the time of day I play, I get almost instant queue times during the day on the east coast in the US. That being said there are still those games where I get tunneled and then left on the hook but thankfully those games don't happen back to back often

While OP didn't make this clear, people with hearing impairments (either partially deaf, so have to play using mono-directional audio instead of the usual directional audio, or fully deaf), photosensitive epilepsy (doctor/flashlights), motion sickness (a locked FOV and tying increased FOV to a perk or stretched resolution) or wrist issues (wiggling, holding an interaction button for long periods of time) aren't well catered to. There's definitely more I'm forgetting.

And while I assume that the devs are working to fix this (ie. colourblind settings, struggle changes, potential wiggle changes, Almo asking people to clip flashlight spammers on his stream so he can send over the team), there's still more that could be done (like DBD Mobile has the heartbeat show up physically, and this could easily be a toggleable option in-game).

I have problems with motion sickness in this game and agree that FOV should be adjustable through the menus like a majority of games and not locked behind a perk. With shadowborn I am able to play Nurse and Blight, my two favorite killers to play but also the ones who bother me the most due to their motion/zooms/camera shakes, but without it I get queasy and dizzy very quickly. I can imagine people who have more severe motion sickness couldn't play killer at all.

  • Blight and Nurse are by far the most fun for me since I can get into a nice flow state playing both and there isn't much down time in a match since they're so mobile.

You already got an answer from Mandy, but I wanted to add that Beta seems to be new features you are free to try on live servers, like the new Wiggling mechanics. You can opt on/off the features in the settings from what I've understand.

I also hope the on/off is gonna be a feature so players can choose if they prefer to use X or Y way to play the game, not only for the Beta test.

Agreed, I don't want more hud icons that I can't turn off. I haven't had major problems when I play solo queue and like the suspense of not knowing what other survivors are doing and having sudden changes like gens popping or survivors getting downed across the map without warning

  • Kindred and WGLF, stayed at level 6 on David King in solo queue. I like to play under leveled since I mostly only play survivor to get bloodpoints from challenges and dump all those into killers. Escape around 75% of the time so far
