  • It's not a fair perk design and often rewards poor play.

It's by no means stupidly overpowered, but something doesn't have to be stupidly overpowered to be unfair or unfun and need reworking.

  • To be honest, when you consider that a majority of perks are barely used (due to being relatively underpowered), it's statistically likely that the first perks that come up on your bloodweb won't be the top ones.

  • Although her basekit is no doubt one of the strongest (if not the strongest) in the game, I can deal with it mostly fine. I think the real problems lie with her add-ons. There are some that are simply ridiculously overpowered, and with a decent player are borderline uncounterable in far too many scenarios for survivors.

  • According to a Dev on-stream, it's simply used for statistics purposes to find correlations between fun ratings and match data.

This being said, I personally really hope it's no longer considered a primary source of player data for DBD, since there are multiple critical problems with this method of data collection in comparison to other methods.

I'm surprised it even still exists to be honest.

  • Seems to lack facial detail or expression. Definitely prefer the old one.

  • I haven't heard of this issue personally, but if you're definitely 100% sure your keybinds are right, then it'll almost certainly be a problem with your keyboard. If possible, I'd try using a different keyboard to see if the issue persists to test this. Sometimes they can just have dodgy keys (my old one did), which may become more apparent when you have to hold the key down in order to do something like a fast vault.

Another thing you could try is use the Windows on-screen keyboard to see if your shift key is holding down properly. Search for 'On-Screen Keyboard' in the search menu, open it up and give it a test.

    Hope this helps :D

I get that, I'm saying there are other stores other than the steam store, and they seem to offer multiple versions being available but DBD don't load the PTB into that only steam, for instance I play through the xbox store on Windows, so I'm playing on PC but can't access the PTB because not steam, even if they gave out codes to players so they could access the PTB but they dont

Sorry, I worded my response poorly. Just edited it now.

  • Could be wrong, but I don't think Console/Windows store platforms support them. On the other hand, Steam allows for multiple versions of the game to be accessible to any player at once, which is why only PC players can access it.

EDIT: I think I'm wrong actually, having a look at some old tweets from DBD, it would seem they don't have the time to support a PTB on all platforms, so instead only provide it to PC players on Steam. (Source: https://twitter.com/DeadByBHVR/status/1004445022576668672)

  • Genuinely astonishing these things are still in the game... ridiculously overpowered. Every single time I see a survivor with a toolbox in a lobby I dodge just in case it's a brown one. Horrendous from BHVR, please nerf.

  • A chunk of the bar will be lost if one is missed.

We have not confirmed that cross progression is coming soon @InsaneCoaster

The exact information that we have said is that Cross progression is available for Stadia & Steam with Switch coming soon. We are unable to confirm IF or WHEN cross progression is available for any other platform.

The BHVR website says "more platforms coming soon", implying that it will become available for more than just Switch in the future. What I'm saying is purely based upon what the official website has stated.

I mean. not when you can see over T/L Walls with it or any small loops that small killers rely on to mindgame,

It needs to be removed 100% imho,

if they take away j-flick. take away Stretch in that same patch..

To see over T/L walls you'd have to stretch it ridiculously far (like beyond 1:1), which no one does, so that isn't really a problem. In terms of looping it only really makes a difference at smaller loops with lower than normal walls. Skill is still far, far superior when it comes to advantages in a chase than stretched res is. I'm not saying there isn't an advantage at all, I'm just saying it's considerably smaller than a lot of people think it is.

If they remove stretched then that's their decision, but they should at least consider mitigating the consequences for people who use it for legitimate reasons. Some people rely on stretched to get a playable, stable FPS because the game isn't optimized that well.

They should also probably add an FOV slider in the settings.

  • Unfortunately there still aren't any exact dates for further cross-progression. All we know is that it's "coming soon". Steam <---> Stadia is currently the only cross-progression available.

  • Unfortunately there are currently no exact dates that have been announced for cross progression between consoles and Steam. All we know is that it's "coming soon".

  • Pretty sure it'll get disabled, but good question.

The only relevant thing it says on the wiki is "If there are multiple instances of Open-Handed present in a Trial, they will stack their respective values", which I guess implies that if a survivor is no longer in the trial (dead) then it will not stack.

  • I like using Spine Chill and Iron Will, but not sure I'd personally get enough use out of Calm Spirit and Urban Evasion to make them worth running. That being said, I have a more aggressive playstyle than I do immersed/stealthy.

This is pretty good though, although I think I'd maybe swap out Urban for Lithe or SB as a getaway if I were playing stealthy!

  • Nothing. I think merch is kind of tacky and overpriced generally. It would have to be something really good quality and reasonably priced for me to even consider buying it, and even then I don't think I've ever bought game merch before.

I do understand some people are a fan of it, and that's cool, but personally I don't see why anyone would buy it.

  • I haven't heard of this issue personally. Do you have a screenshot of it?

  • I would recommend sending a ticket:

It's probably a good idea to upload the footage somewhere and include a link in your report. If you still have their profiles, then definitely send their IDs as well.

    Hope this helps :)

I'll give you four sacrifices, but definitely not just 4 kills. We've gotta have some type of difficulty and class around here.

if you muddy down the achievement so even people who let people bleed out on the floor for 4 minutes get it, then what's the point of the achievement. Congrats, you did something...basic? hooray?

Sorry, didn't fully think it through when I wrote it, and yeah 4 sacrifices is what I had in mind, not 4 kills of any type. My bad.

I personally believe there shouldn’t be any filter or censorship in the chat. True I play on Xbox, so this doesn’t effect me directly as there’s no filter on Xbox messages.

But this is already a mature rated game, so bad language and naughty words shouldn’t be an issue. And if you really don’t want to see anything you don’t like in chat, there is already the option to close it

I agree to an extent, but I definitely think certain words or phrases should be blocked.

But the basis of what you're saying makes sense to me for sure. It's a mature game. Bad language shouldn't be a problem, but if it's being used in an extremely offensive way then you should just report it and move on.

  • I've had this issue as well, but not just for Bubba; also for Huntress pulling up a hatchet etc...

So far I've had it occurring a few times on the main building corner of Cowshed, but I can't be sure if it's specific to this map/tile, or if it's just a coincidence. It's quite uncommon for me so I don't have a clue what's causing it.

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

Either 4k or what it is now BUT you can have a fourth perk of your choice.

I actually quite like that idea. I doubt it would happen, but I wouldn't be against a change like that at all.

  • The amount of players doesn't make a huge difference really. You can have 20k players or 100k players online at once, but if the ratio of survivor players to killer players stays the same, then queue time will still be an issue.

It's an incredibly difficult problem to solve, because it's linked considerably to the behavior of players. For example, typically more survivors are playing in the evenings due to the fact that they are more likely to have friends online who want to play SWF compared to in the morning. As a result, you end up with an imbalance of players on each side which causes queue times to go up and skill-based matchmaking to become less functional.

  • It adds a good balance of strategy and risk I think. Basements typically are found in areas of relatively high strength for survivors, so it's nice to have an element of risk (in the sense that if you go down, you give the killer increased pressure on your team compared to a normal hook).

  • I think an occasional god pallet is acceptable. 2 should be an absolute maximum for each map, preferably 1. God pallets only really become a problem on, like Gibbly said, maps such as old Badham. That was insanity. But the odd god pallet isn't a big problem in my opinion.

Not to mention for every god pallet in the game, there's also a near-useless pallet for survivors.

It’s pretty much been confirmed that it’s being removed which I’m fine with. It wasn’t intended and removed one of blights major weakness.

Now a stretched res removal please?

I doubt the Devs will change anything in regards to stretched, or at least not any time soon.

The whole stretched res thing is very complicated. Not only is removing it difficult, but even if it were easy, simply removing it just like that would cause a multitude of problems. Compared to proper exploits, there are some genuinely legitimate reasons to use stretched res, so straight up removing it wouldn't be fair.

Honestly, I think people overreact when it comes to stretched resolution, but that's just my take on it.

  • They shouldn't be able to insta-blind mid chase, unless multiple survivors do it at the same time in which case it'll be very fast.

Haven't heard of this bug personally. Do you have footage of it?

  • There will obviously be some exceptions, but generally I think buffing weaker perks does more to help the overall health of the game. By doing this, you're diversifying builds, creating more opportunities for synergy between perks and overall making things a bit more interesting and exciting instead of encouraging people to run the same sorts of builds game after game.

  • It's really difficult to say, since both things are (for the most part) handled by different teams, but I definitely would like to see a game health update soon. Lots of fixes for common bugs, better optimization and general game stability and maybe some balance changes.

Don't get me wrong though, I'm always happy to see new content when it's done well. I must admit, although I'm not the biggest fan of most recent chapters, I think the Devs have proven they can come up with some really interesting designs. I think they just need to take more time with them; I'd much rather see new chapters being released a little less frequently as long as they're well-made and mostly bug-free unlike a lot of the recent chapters.

  • What device are you using? The game will likely crash on incompatible devices after login, since it's at this point the game begins to load and render.

If you're playing on a phone, the minimum requirements are Samsung Galaxy S7 or equivalent (Android 7 or above) or iPhone 6S (iOS 11 or above).

If you're sure it's not an issue with the device itself or the OS version, I would try using a different login method to see if it fixes the issue.

    Hope this helps!

  • Hag is definitely stronger, but I honestly find her a bit boring to play now and definitely unfun to play against.

I find Trapper a lot more interesting strategy-wise, but he could do with a buff.

  • Fingers crossed! It's very likely it's the same issue, since a lot of people have experienced this bug in the past few days. Good luck!

  • There have been issues caused by the Steam Beta Client recently affecting in-game mouse sensitivity.

Assuming this is the same bug, you can fix it temporarily by disabling Steam overlay in the Steam settings.

Since this is an issue with the Beta client, I believe it can also be fixed by opting out of beta participation. In your Steam settings, go to 'Account' and then 'Beta Participation' and disable it.

  • Yep, you only get partial credit. If you fully heal a survivor with the assistance of another survivor, you will get half the progression.

  • Might sound stupid, but I'd try binding it to a different key first to see if it's an issue with the button itself.

I had a similar issue a couple of years ago, and it turned out my keyboard had a slightly dodgy sensor on my spacebar, causing my struggle to be cancelled now and again. I switched to a different key and never had the same problem again. Obviously this was on PC, not Xbox, but I can imagine the same sort of thing could happen if you have a bit of a worn-out button.

  • I agree, but it's been confirmed a key nerf is in development.

  • Same here. Inconsistent and very irritating problem. I'm using a SteelSeries Rival 110 on Windows 10, but based on what everyone has been saying, it definitely seems to be a game problem.

  • Gonna be honest here, I use stretched res, but only to a limited extent. Unlike some people, I have never stretched it nearly as far as 1080x1080 etc (like in the picture), since I agree it gives too much of an advantage at that level to be fair on other players.

My reasons for using it are quite simply to get consistently high FPS (75+) and because I think it looks nice. That's pretty much it. I'm not in it for any kind of advantage at all. I know a lot of people will simply try to dismiss this as an excuse, but these are genuinely my opinions.

If they remove stretched res in its current form, then that's understandable, but they should at least implement an FOV slider (and more graphics settings in general) and optimize the game better for more consistent FPS. You can't simply remove something like that without taking into account the consequences. Not everyone uses it to intentionally cheat.

  • I don't get the question. I don't think DBD has ever had deals with Prime Gaming, so why would we be expecting loot?

  • I would never use proximity chat if DBD had it lol. It's so irritating in other games.

  • I suppose the event items don't have much of an effect on the game itself, whereas those offerings specifically create Lunar Hooks and Gens plus bloodpoint bonuses. It wouldn't really make sense to allow them to be used outside of the Lunar event.

  • It's a really close one for me, but I'd prefer quicker matchmaking.

For me, when I play survivor in the evening, matchmaking can sometimes be 10+ minutes (I'm sure others will have experienced the same as well). Sure, the rank of the killer can be pretty much anywhere between rank 1 and rank 13, but at least we get a match. If matchmaking were to be much more skill-based (which could happen with MMR), then this would become even worse.

Don't get me wrong though, both are super important. Regardless of which one is prioritized, the other definitely shouldn't be ignored.

  • I hope so. On paper, the upcoming MMR system would help fix this, but then MMR brings a whole new load of problems.

  • I would say F tier, but then nobody has really had enough of a chance to become super good with him yet, so I'll say C Tier.

  • Advertising exploits is 100% bannable, so advertising cheats I would assume is too. If there's sufficient evidence to link their account to the videos they're posting (which based on what you've described, there probably is), then they can definitely be banned.

I would keep a copy of a link to their profile/SteamID and report them.

You can send a ticket to support with all the information you have, and hopefully something can be done :)

  • If you're definitely holding the run button down as you press the vault button, then it's probably an issue with your buttons not working properly. I mean there's always the chance it's a weird one-off bug, but if it's a consistent problem then it's probably not the game.

  • The only reason it's 15 minutes would be because you've disconnected several times recently, it should only be 5 otherwise. In situations where I want to leave the game for whatever reason, I just let go on hook and get around the penalty.

Ok, then my question is why aren't they balancing for swf.

There should be some in-game feature where if you get into a game as friends (most the time this includes Comms) then you should get some sort of buff/ debuff the survivors.

Also yes, but a lot of people who play swf are chill up until red ranks, then most of them tryhard.

Mb about the last part, I didn't know communication was allowed, can you site these rules for me to read so that I can ensure this doesn't happen again and I can be sure of it.

SWF is a very difficult thing to balance, because you cannot assume all SWF groups are the same. If you nerf SWF, then friends who simply want to have a chill time will be unfairly affected, even if the sweat squads in the minority are nerfed.

I also disagree with your point that "most [red rank SWF groups] tryhard". I personally see no evidence for that as someone who plays both sides at rank 1. Playing well is not necessarily try-harding, and basically all groups can be beaten if you play well enough. If you compare 95% of SWF groups to real tryhard groups (like competitive squads), then you'll see who's really tryharding.

In my opinion, the best option is to buff solo queue by having built-in Kindred and basic communication abilities (not comms though) to bring solo queue closer to SWF, and then buff weaker killers to bring them a bit closer to the more powerful killers like Nurse, Spirit etc... This way everyone wins.

For the communication thing, here is my reference:

"[You cannot use] 3rd party software or other tools to gain any kind of unfair advantage that wasn’t intended by the game, except if they have been whitelisted by us. We are not banning for the use of communication apps."

    Source: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system

  • I respect you have an opinion, and I don't want to come across as that guy who just says "giT gUd", but you realise most 4 man groups are actually pretty chill and perfectly winnable right? Also comms has its downsides.

It also states clearly in the rules that communication software is allowed and is not considered 3rd party cheat software.
