Keys are ridiculous
keys are absolute ridiculous.
keys offer a free escape and can end games quick faster than you complete your full objective but it doesn't stop there.
Opening the hatch is at instant speed, no animation. So it's impossible for a killer to defend the hatch so you can just run over here, open the hatch and jump in with no repercussions.
Get chased and accidentally find the closed hatch? Just open it instantly and jump in with no opening animations, that's fair.
Then you got add-ons like Milky glass so you keep your key when opening the hatch. Which allows the survivor to keep their key and use it for the next match and get another free escape.
Then you got weaved ring so on death they keep their key. Thus eliminating all the risk of even having a key so in case they die, hey they get to keep it and use it again for next match.
With the hatch instantly opening and those add-ons there is zero risk to having a key and with plunderers instinct your chances of finding a key is even higher which grants yet another free key.

A survivor with weaved ring is actually better then no add-ons, becouse if you manage to kill them, the key disappears with them and nobody else can pick it up
I agree, but it's been confirmed a key nerf is in development.
I might be in the minority here, but for how rare, expensive, and situational keys are.. I think they are ok.
You get 7,500 points for escaping through the hatch, and it might just be 5,000 if you already maxed out on objective points. For an item that at base costs 6-7,000 BP. Not to mention the expensive add-ons. So you can actually lose BP on a hatch escape via key.
