I really expected this post to sorta take off :(

Guess more people know about this than I expected

Next time just type in "Nerf Killer" or "Select Perk Is OP" and you will summon the horde.

  • Honestly, nothing will change. The game feeds on toxicity. It makes money and the devs won't do anything more than their abysmal chat censor. Just go on YouTube and watch how so many swfs are having fun and laughing, all at the killers expense. If you notice, most of them have auric cells cosmetics on.

I suggest you switch to survivor, master Nurse or find a new game.

  • I only purchased one cosmetic since the Stranger Things chapter and it is only because I've wanted an afro for Claudette for a long time. Other than that, I only use shards.

Or maybe they were just solo Q and there was a blendette in their team not doing much, so no time to do gens and bones with a dead weight on their team

OP said they destroyed the killer. Therefore they should have had plenty of time to do bones.

Whether or not they had a Blendette that was useless is irrelevant. Even if they did, it isn’t a problem with the perk, but rather, a problem with a bad player.

Do you know if that was an intentional nerf to Spirit or just an oopsie from the Devs?

    Both

  • Your teams fault for being lazy, especially if you were all able to destroy the killer. Next time do bones

Thats where you are wrong. The devs called Ruin a "endgame perk" that "applies gen pressure when there are only a few gens left". But Ruin never lasts on its own until the later stages of the match.

When asked about whats fun, survivors said: chases are fun. However, tracking perks to get more chases are not viable, because killers "have" to stack slowdown perks in order to squeeze out a few more seconds out of a match.

In other words: the current gen rush (or doing gens efficiently) meta ruins the fun for both sides.

They like to leave out that chases are only fun when they have the advantage, two health states, multiple second chance perks available and plenty of resources are left on the map. They don’t like chases when it interferes with their objective, the killer is doing a good job and they’re all on deaths door.

If they truly enjoyed chases, as they claim, they’d never complain about Tinkerer.

  • Freddy. He can use his powers to easily kill them after putting them to sleep.

Pyramid Head can probably kill everyone as well.

  • We are many, yet we are one. None can escape. All will be assimilated.

  • OMG he is so adorable! Rub its tummy for me. Scratch its ears as well. I wish I could have one, but my current living situation wont allow it.

    @ the OP,

I'm sorry for your loss. You're more than welcome to join The Bush and expand our roots.

  • I'd love to be able to run Mad Grit, Iron Grasp, Agitation and Light Born on killer and run around the map with a survivor back pack, but most of the time, I get gen rushed to hell if I try to take it easy and have fun. So, I just go back to survivor and have a relaxing time.

Pretending that anyone is complaining about cleansing already lit totems that are in their face isn't going to help you, nor is pretending that there's a magical, limitless amount of time and co-ordination at the tail end of a trial in which to hunt down a hidden totem.

You have the option to exit the gates. You're not entitled to a 4 man escape just as killers aren't entitled to a 4k.

You have the option to take the time to cleanse the totems before endgame. Devs have provided you with plenty of perks and items to do so. Play long enough and you will start to remember where totem spawns are and will no longer need assistance with them.

If the killer provides enough pressure, while only using 3 perks throughout the match, to keep you off of totems and rush gens, then, they earn the activation of NoEd.

If the killer is bad and can't down anyone and relies on NoEd and it activates, then, your team deserves for it to activate for being negligent and lazy.

You can argue that killers can camp the first survivor they down and still get benefit from NoEd, but the argument can be countered with the fact that by the time the killer gets their first down, 2.5 gens should be done. If they go down before that, then that is their fault. Most of my solo games have 3 gens done before the first person hooked gets to second stage. The only time we don't is against a Top Tier Nurse, Spirit or Blight. That, or we are a bunch of potatoes.

No one is pretending here, totems are not difficult, but they are a risk. Similar to risks that killers may or may not take. If its good for one side, then it's good for the other.

This is a great argument, except it falls apart as soon as solo queue is factored in.

Solo queue isn't as horrible as many make it out to be. Most of it's problems will improve when they finish with their SBMMR.

  • Hawkins isn't terrible. Be happy it wasn't RPD.

The t-bagging and leaving you to bleed out was toxic, yes, but your team majorly screwed up by letting her down all of you.

  • @MadLordJack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2467167#Comment_2467167

That is a bad comparison. None of those perks offer the option of an enormous task that has to be completed, often with the help of other perks and some random players, in order to potentially deactivate them. A task that people genuinely love to tell people to do despite the fact that it is more impactful that the perk itself.

And Survivors do play around NOED without knowing if it is active or not, just the same as killers play around all the perks you mentioned. That's why healthy survivors avoid taking hits and hide or hang around close to exit gates if they haven't seen anyone get hit by a basic attack since the doors were powered. And it's also not mentioning all of the non-Hex perks that survivors have to play around that I'm not going to mention because I don't like to stall discussions with whattaboutism.

Cleansing a lit totem after the gens pop isn't an enormous task. 4 survivors cleansing totems as they traverse the map on their way to gens isn't an enormous task.

This isn't whataboutisim. This is a specific topic about forcing players to play around things that their opponents may or may not have. Why does this community hate it for one side but think it is fine for the other? It's rather hypocritical.

Killers dont have to assume if survivors have dh or bt cause u can tell when they use it.

And still complaining about DS huh? dont tunnel lol

    UB i can understand

Soul guard? isn't it in the dead perks club?

Who is complaining? If you actually read my posts, you will see that I'm asking specific questions and that there are no complaints.

  • @GrimoireWeiss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2467198#Comment_2467198

And yet you can still progress your objective while playing around DS. As survivor you cannot.

You can still rush gens with Ruin and Undying up. You can still open doors and exit with NoEd up. You can still exit through the hatch. You can still stealth and look for the lit totem.

It still doesn't answer the question of why is it okay to make things harder for the killer but it isn't okay to force survivors into making a difficult decision?

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2467196#Comment_2467196

I was only talking about NOED. Hext-Totems should obviously be removed.

But, as I have written already - all the time you waste running around cleansing Totems might mean that you lose the game because you are not doing a Gen. Which can result in all Survivors dead before all Gens are done, and at this point, it is irrelevant if the Killer has NOED or not.

Dull Totems do nothing to win the game, really, 0.

And as I also said - if you know you have time, e.g. if the Killer is really not good, it makes more sense to do Totems. But only if the Killer is really struggling and you can afford to waste time.

As far as NoEd goes, you don't have to cleanse 5 totems. You can take the chance and wait for the fifth gen to pop and see if they have it and cleanse the lit totem or you can take the time to do the 5 totems before it pops. It is no different from the choice and risk a killer takes when deciding if they should tunnel someone off of hook and risk them having BT and DS or go for the healthy survivor who hasn't been hooked, but could equally waste the same amount of time as the unhooked person with all of their second chance perks active.

All the time the killer wastes chasing healthy survivors while avoiding the injured, recently unhooked survivor, can lead the killer to lose the match, especially in matches where both the killers and survivors are decent at the game. It really isn't much different from survivors taking a chance to cleanse totems.

Also, survivors have the option to exit through the gates and not go for the save. Losing one person doesn't mean they lost the match.

  • @GrimoireWeiss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2467167#Comment_2467167

Each one of these perks can be played around by the killer while he still progresses the objective. Most of them are countered by simply going after another survivor.

Going totem hunting does nothing to progress the objective as Aven_Fallen pointed out, if the killer doesn't have NOED you essentially just wasted time, and against some strong killers like Spirit or Blight, doing dulls can be the death of your team.

Yes, they can be played around by forcing them to match more difficult for themselves. Going totem hunting does the same to survivors.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2467165#Comment_2467165

I mean, I can agree to the point of not cleansing Dull Totems when there is time to do so. I have also seen games where the Killer did only get two Hooks and nobody cleansed Dull Totems after 4 Gens were done, which is stupid, because it makes sense to search for them if there is the time for it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2467167#Comment_2467167

I thought you cannot play around DH? This is what they always say...

And well, DS, UB, BT-->Go for other Survivors? Let alone, DS can be countered by slugging, which also provides Map Pressure. Unless they have Unbreakable as well, but this is a problem specific with Unreakable (which I think is not really a healthy Perk).

Also, the Killer and 4 Survivors are both 100% of their team. If one Survivor is wasting their time cleansing Totems, only 75% of one team are functional. This can easily lose the game.

When killer complain about gen speeds, survivors say to apply pressure, when killers do apply pressure by equipping perks that help them, it becomes a problem.

Just like killers are expected to "go for other survivors", survivors are expected to cleanse totems to counter a killers hex perk and completely remove it from the match. Why is it okay for the game to be designed to make it harder for the killer, by going after the illogical choice of a healthy survivor, verses an easier target who is already injured, but it isn't okay to make survivors go a little out of their way to completely remove a killers perk from the match?

You're implying that cleansing totems is wasting time, but is it really? Removing the chance for NoEd, which you can usually tell if a killer has equipped just by watching how they play, or removing a lit totem that will severely weaken a killer, isn't really wasting time. It's improving your odds at survival.

If one survivor is cleansing totems, you should still have two on gens and one looping the killer. If the survivor looping the killer can't buy enough time for their teammates to pop two gens, could it not be considered that the survivor was bad and it isn't a problem with the killers perk choices?

You act like killers are terrible for not being able to down survivors before gens can be popped, but say nothing at how easy it is for survivors to rush them at the start of the match, especially with how easy it is for them to stack gen progression perks and items on top of each other.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Or, you can simply kill your team by looking for Totems for a Perk the Killer might not even have instead of doing a Generator.

It is just a bad concept to do Totems for something the Killer might not even have. Let alone that the Reward for Dull Totems is basically nothing, cleansing a Dull Totem does nothing for winning the game.

Tofu made a good analogy - lets say a Survivor Perk exists which gives the Survivor 10% Movement Speed when all Gens are done. The Killer can counter it (even before) by going to the Basement and opening each Locker 2 times. Would anyone do that? Wasting time for a Perk the Survivor might not even use?

Why is it wrong for survivors to have to play around something the killer may or may not have, but it is okay for killers to have to assume that every survivor has DH, BT, DS, UB,Soul Guard, and whatever else that can grant them a extra health state, when they may or may not have it equipped?

  • No Mither, Self Care, Inner Strength, Pharmacy.

  • Entitled whiners who want easy wins say no.

Well to be fair, killers also had machine gun build and instant kill moris back in the day. So yeah there have been some major balance changes for both sides. Killer is in its best state to date.

What’s the machine gun build? It sounds fun.

  • If you’re having trouble, as a killer, with survivors body blocking you while carrying someone to a hook, you have perks that can help.

    Mad Grit

    Iron Grasp

Star Struck - Probably the best one.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

I will never understand why people want this. It would be terrible.

You know how when you play against nemesis you can sometimes have a zombie block a doorway and no matter what you do you go down.

Now imagine that but the zombie is a sentient killer that moves faster then you and has a power. Killers will just double team survivors constantly with zero counter play to it.

Because people are bored and want the devs to take risks and come up with new and interesting gameplay mechanics. It doesn’t have to be a permanent thing, they can just do it for holidays.

Ah I see, I rarely play her unless I have a daily. She’s bad to play and that’s the only way I’ll play her but my build with her is end-game oriented and now realize why Jeff’s helmet wasn’t bleeping after I threw it on his head when the last gen finished. I love BHVR! Nerfing useless stuff since 2017!

Just use an RPD offering. Going against Pig is miserable on that map. Just show mercy if you see a Claudette with purple pants and an Afro.

  • @Markness said:

Wait.. you're telling me they don't go off after all gens are popped? Jesus I've been playing her wrong for a while. She is now officially dumpster-tier as a killer. Her niche was extending the end game and punishing people that rush gens and leave, but now.. wow, she is maybe the worst killer or near the bottom.

Just to make it clear, they will die if they pop if the helmet is active. So if you put a trap on their head and immediately after they pop a gen, they have no choice but to try and take it off or look for hatch. But if you put it on after the last gen pops, then yes, they can walk out of the gate.

  • Problem with Devour is nine times out of ten, it spawns on a hill or across a gen and is cleansed within a minute of the match beginning.

It is amazing with Trapper and Bloody Coil and Iridescent Stone when it's tucked away in its own little corner. It's actually one of the games best slow down perks since survivors just stop all progress and hide or look for the totem.

  • @DetailedDetriment said:

DBD isn't balanced. In fact, it never has been, and it's been getting much worse for killers with every mid-chapter update.

I'm pretty sure it's only gotten better for killers, in general, compared to how the olden days Dbd was. Not saying things are currently great, but it's definitely not worse than it used to be. Well, unless you're talking about bugs and crappy servers.

  • Nurse will always be the strongest killer. She can literally nullify all the help that the game provides to survivors. Only ones who stand a chance against a Good Nurse are a well equipped and well coordinated SWF on a map that has lots of LoS. Being good isn't good enough, expert teamwork is a must and the proper genrushing perks and items must be brought in as well.

  • I'd rather they just make sure totems aren't out in the open or right across a gen. I get that they're high reward/high risk, but there should be a modicum of effort on the survivors part.

Same here! Shadowborn kinda moved me past that issue, the amount of screen widening pushes a lot of the headache inducing black borders to the sides of the screen, makes it way more bearable. I hardly notice it, i use it on blight too since his constant screen shake is motion sickening. If you're willing to throw a perk slot away it might help you too.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll give it a try, but I do have motion sickness in general, so I won’t get my hopes up.

  • I can’t get past her screen darkening/fatigue. It just gives me migraines and refuse to deal with it. If they took that away, I’d main her in a heart beat.

  • When I keep getting indoor maps back to back, I just start using Ormond offerings. Sure, it’s a nerf to my Claudette but meh, it’s more refreshing and easy on my eyes.

  • I have fun by not taking it to seriously and understand that I will die more than I would survive.

  • I…Ive never seen that in the two years I’ve been playing this game. I guess I’ll send myself there when I get home tonight and look for it.

Maybe @GoodBoyKaru rescued it from the cow tree and brought it here to help get it better?

  • He's just the flavor of the month for the nerf brigade. He has become more annoying, only because it seems like all the tunneling Freddy players have switched to Wraith and it does get tiresome do face, over and over.

  • @Aneurysm said:

Hopefully they'll fix her audio bugs soon so wraith and blight can be left alone

That’s exactly what I was thinking. Killers do it too.

I agree that killers complain as much as survivors do, but there is one difference between them. Killers, more frequently than survivors, have a better argument for their complaints. They don’t just come here like a lot of survivor mains do and say survivor op, nerf them. Many explain the issue and why it’s a problem, whereas lots of survivors just attack the killer players and call them bad without having a reasonable argument.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/275876/can-you-get-banned-for-depipping

The most fun way of depipping:

    Basement Bubba.

DBD devs have confirmed that since there is no official win or loss, you can decide what is a win or a loss. If to you, securing the item in the basement is a win, it's not bannable. If you lose the item, you lost. Any survivor entering the basement is fine untill they touch your precious chest, at which point any survivor trying to rescue the sinner will also be severely punished.

For the best success of this strategy, depip down to rank 5 or rank 9, then wait for rank reset.

    @pizzavessel15

This would be your best bet. Who knows, you may enjoy it more than playing normally.

I would personally recommend you just find a new game to play. One that is less stressful for you and more fun and take a two to three month vacation from Dbd.

  • @Sackboy123 said:

I doubt it will happen, unless Netflix allowed the go ahead for some cosmetics in the past which just haven't released yet. We do have until November if that's the case. I highly doubt it though

Not sure my wallet would be happy with me if that's the case though

Give me your wallet and I will convince it to be happy with you. Just make sure to fill it to the seams with hundred dollar bills and a black American Express card.

  • Honestly, if they made a Dbd 2, with fun and more interesting core mechanics, better balance that makes the game more fair for both sides, better coding that they can easily build upon without breaking the game in the future and better visuals with much more customization for our original characters, I'd pay 60 bucks for the base game and 15 bucks per licensed killer no problem.

Oh, they must include Claudette or its a no buy for me.

  • My dream survivor would never happen because it would be too OP. I don't like stories where the characters are hopeless and doomed for eternity, like the survivors in this game are. Rather, since we have a villain, the Entity, I'd want to introduce a counter to that. Like a Light that goes against the Darkness.

My character would have forced themselves into the Entities world in order to free the survivors and killers who have been tainted. While in the Entities realm, they will be weakened, but still strong, while out side of the realm, they would be on par with the Entity. Or maybe, they could be an agent for something more powerful. I haven't really dwelled on it too much.

Barring that, I love Claudette so I'm rather content, I just want more unique cosmetics and hair styles.

If I had to pick someone from some kind of media, I would throw money at Behaviour if they introduce Brenda Meeks:

  • No. If they’re trying to suicide at the start of the match because they can’t handle being first to go down or just not liking the killer, I’m going to try my best to get to them. Then, out of spite, I’m going to annoy them and spam the unhook animation a few times and then rescue them.

If the killer slugs them, I’ll let them bleed out. They don’t want to care about ruining my game and wasting my time, I’ll do the same with them.
