scamming people for money is also illegal
You should have known from the last few releases what would happen with this chapter. You should learn to be patient with your money and not purchase things on release day. You should also know that you signed an agreement with Behaviour, giving them the right to change things as they see fit. You still have access to the character you purchased, nothing they did is illegal.
While I understand your frustrations, they will continue to keep pumping out subpar chapters with subpar characters as long as people continue to impulse buy their products and cosmetics.

Yes. I do. The license holders could have easily said, at first, "Oh, yeah, voicelines are alright." then changed their minds.
For whatever other reason would they possibly get rid of the voicelines?
While I agree that it is most likely the license holder, it is possible that the voice lines were messing with the spaghetti code and rather than admit it being their fault, Behaviour would like to let us think it's the license holder.

Consider this as a lesson to not spend money on new chapters until you're sure they're worth it.

Behaviour Interactive has 600+ employees, and is the self-described largest independent game developer and publisher in Canada. As I type this, Dead By Daylight is the 9th most-played game on Steam (per Steamcharts), it's in the top 10 of all games being played on Twitch at this moment, and only two months ago it had its highest peak player count of all-time on Steam.
Stop with the sob stories. Behaviour is not some scrappy upstart company. They are well-capitalized, well-staffed, and yet still unable to conduct a smooth DLC launch five years in. Just today, they've had to disable the RPD map, the new killer is causing random disconnects, and Freddy's dream pallets can stun him. It's always two steps forward, one step back.
They don't listen to (and do not want) external feedback, they aren't transparent about anything, and they have repeatedly demonstrated that they don't have a firm grasp on the things that are wrong with their game. They can't/won't fix their screwy code base that leads to the type of issues listed above, they will never forsake a few almighty dollars for an aggressive game health update cycle (or two), and they have no incentive to ever change this outlook because in spite of everything I typed in the last two paragraph, the things in paragraph #1 continue to remain true.
You're wrong.
It's always one step forward and two steps back.

Oh how wonderful, checking your browser and deleting your comment.
This thread wasn't about survivor second chance perks. Please don't derail the thread.
But since you already did, fine. I am a killer main and I definetly hate second chance perks. I had at some point a Dwight that used DH cuz he screwed up, had bt on him prior to that, DSed me after i actually left him alone and got someone else then had adrenaline timed just as I downed him. Last evening I played Plague and had a 4 man slug endgame. As soon as I caught the 4th guy, I picked him up, forgetting that he was unhooked 50s ago and I chased and downed 3 other people. That guy still had DS so he got another one up. I couldn't manage to get them both in time (dh) so I lost 2 kills. See? I suffer just as much on killer from second chance perks like I do on survivor.
The rest were fair enough points. I do play sneaky in endgame. This time however, the killer was in stelath mode and I had walls surrounding me, so when I saw the pig I didn't have enough time to make distance. Had there been no NOED, I would've definetly made it to a loop or something and I would've escaped.
I wasn't derailing the thread. I was pointing out that this game provides multiple second chances, more so on the survivors side. Killers are entitled to have one strong, easily countered, second chance perk to help them when they do poorly, in order to help them counter the plethora of survivor second chance perks.
I was also pointing that if it is okay to force the killer to play around perks that survivors may or may not have, then it is okay to force survivors to play around perks killers may or may not have. People like to argue that it is a waste of time to do bones, but have no problem forcing the killer to abandon a hook or chase a healthy survivor when it would be better for them to chase the recently unhooked, injured survivor. It's hypocrisy.
I don't know what you're talking about deleting comments, I haven't done so. If I ever edit something, it's only to correct spelling.
Anyways, there is nothing wrong with NoEd. It is easily countered, wastes as much time for survivors as survivors second chance perks waste for the killer, and can only be used once during the match. And 9 times out of 10, it is easy to deduce if the killer has it. They either play really poorly or you can pay attention to what the other three perks the killer is using throughout the match.
If it was nerfed, there would be even less incentive for survivors to cleanse totems, making the current gen rush worse and resulting in more 5 minute games.
I don't know about you, but I don't enjoy short games. I'd rather have a 10-15 minute game where I can get 20k+ points over the current games I get where I escape with only 16K-18K points.

And I never said I had to escape. Believe me, dying because I got outplayed is absolutely fine. Dying because the killer was bad and had a perk isn't fine to me.
"Do bones" - there are five. Let me remind you that in solo q, you MUST NOT rely on your team doing gens- that's the pure reality. And if I spend my time looking for totems, gens won't be done. And if gens aren't done, I die. Telling me that doing all five takes 70 seconds is just like me telling you that a killer downing a survivor takes around 5 seconds, because moving to the survivor doesn't count.
I have found it is more effective to memorize totem spots in order to cleanse NOED. With how reliable your team is, good luck doing all 5 totem, all 5 gens and getting out.
NoEd is no different from many survivor perks. It is no fun for killers when survivors win due to their bad perks. Want an easy escape during endgame? Bring in DS and BT. Want a free health state and free distance during a chase? Press "E" to use DH. Want to undo a killers pressure? Bring in Unbreakable. Want to know if the killer is coming for you without actually looking, Spine Chill. If you actually have a problem with perks helping bad players, I'd like to see you start complaining about all the second chance perks that survivors have.
Doesn't matter if it is Solo or SWF, the survivor role is a team role. If your teammates can't handle doing bones during the match, especially against bad killers, they don't deserve to win. The issue isn't with NoEd the issue is with matchmaking and having bad teammates. Killer powers and perks shouldn't be nerfed to suit bad players/teams. People need to start getting better at the game.
Next time, since you can't rely on your teammates, try not getting aggro when there is one gen left and leave them to die just like they left you to die.

emotional stability > physical wants
Well, I wanna spoon with both David and Felix while I'm in the middle, but we can't have everything we want! Rubbing their butt while on my shoulder is a good substitute!
-
If the killer was as bad as you claim, your teammates should have cleansed totems, especially when they are directly across a gen. This isn't a case with something being wrong with a perk, but rather, having bad teammates who underestimated what perks the killer may have.
I only play solo queue, and the only time when I have trouble with doing totems are when the killer is much better than my group, when someone gets butt hurt and dc's, or when teammates are useless. Killer perks and powers shouldn't be nerfed due to survivor ineptitude, they should only be a concern when they have no counters and are completely unfair. NoEd has an easy counter, do bones, stay out of the killers cross-hair when 1 gen is left or open the door and exit the match.
Survivor is a team role with the option to play selfishly. Being a part of a team means you will suffer when you have bad teammates.
Finally, completing gens and looping the killer does not entitle you to an escape. You are only entitled an escape when you pass through the gate or hatch.

It's only half false. People of the bush are either the scariest survivors to face or the easiest to down. There is very little in-between. The journey to peak Bush is much to arduous for all the little saplings to succeed. Many remain the little sprouts that they are and seek protection from the greater Bush.

That's maybe what you think but I've seen more then enough people wanting basically all his strong addons to be made useless right next to nerfs to basekit.
The wallhack is nothing special either. Blight has one about as strong and nobody is complaing about it anymore even when still one of his best addons and it belongs to possbily S tier killer unlike wraith who's at best high B.
Those people are the same as the ones who think cleansing totems is a difficult task. They shouldn't be listened to.
I agree that Wraith is upper B tier, even with the wall-hack, but it's just so frustrating to deal with the tunneling ex-Freddy mains who switched to Wraith and not being able to stealth away from the hook. If they would just make recently unhooked survivors immune to the aura reading for 15-20 secs, I wouldn't complain.
-
There is a two step process to buying auric cells through steam. First check and see if the funds are in your steam wallet, if so, then you now have to purchase the Auric Cells with what you have in your wallet.
-
Devs need to start baking and improving all of the killer rosters cake. Most of them have pancakes for a backside when they should be Bundt Cakes.
-
@Kebek said:
People don't care for the fact that wraith even when now good and popular is still at best high mid tier killer.
They won't stop complaining about him until he gets at least 1 major nerf to cripple him again.
Nerfing his wall-hack isn't crippling him. It's the only thing that needs attention. Everything else if perfect for him and should never be touched.
-
All of them since I only play Trapper when I tire of survivor. The only other time I play a different killer is for the challenges.

I hate indoor maps but if it was similar to Hawkins and nowhere near as terrible as Midwich and RPoopD, I’d be fine with it.

Every second you are searching for Dull Totems, you are not on a Gen. And searching and cleansing Dull Totems does exactly nothing to win the game for you. In fact, it can even lose you the game, because while you do nothing but searching for Totems, your team might be dying and not having any pressure at all, because at least one person is running around doing "nothing".
Just for the chance that the Killer might have NOED. It is wasted time if he does not have it. And also wasted time if you dont complete all Generators (most likely because players are not efficient aka working on Gens).
Let alone, if you cleanse 1 Totem, you did exactly nothing to prevent NOED. Even if you cleansed 4 Totems, you did not prevent NOED, it is only prevented when you know that 5 Totems are cleansed. (And if 4 Totems are cleansed, you can be sure that the last Totem is the most hidden thing in the game...)
As I said before, it is no different to how killers waste time playing around extremely common perks that survivors may or may not have. If its okay for one side it's okay for the other.
One can easily argue that if the killer is so oppressive that you're unable to cleanse totems, that they deserve NoEd since they were able to pressure you with only three perks. If your team is dying and have no pressure, then perhaps it isn't a problem with NoEd, but rather, a problem with inadequate survivors.
You don't need to do all five totems, you can just wait for the gens to pop and look for the single lit totem or open the gate and leave. Holding M1 on a generator doesn't entitle any group of survivors for an easy endgame. Especially since it is so easy to complete 3 gens by the time the killer gets their first hook.

It is kinda crazy that I almost never see maps. Considering the devs released the statistics that NOED / Ruin are the most run perks in the game you would think more people would run them. A map in my lobby has me immediately taking off any hex because they will be gone in the first 30 seconds of the game.
That's because most survivors underestimate the potential for NoEd or would rather just bring in stuff to bully the killers with or rush gens as fast as possible. If NoEd was really such a big deal, at lease one survivor in every match, would bring in a map or perk to counter it.

Ive seen and had games where the trio literally won the match for me / the killer. Sure it can be taken out but when it isnt it literally promotes lazy killer gameplay. I respect your opinion and agree they can be taken out but when you play it on a map like swamp its gg 100%
Yea, on high mobility killers, it seems overkill, but the counter is easy, all you need is small game, detectives hunch, that new perk that came with the last DLC or a map. Heck, play long enough and you will start to remember where totems spawn. Swamp seems bad, but I find them relatively quickly. Midwich and RpoopD are nightmares without a perk or map.
It's only 100% gg if the survivors were lazy or just simply not as good as the killer is. The new SBMMR will reveal how bad things really are.
-
Just chalk it up to entitlement. People can't handle being told NO and not have something go their way. No point in trying to understand them, they won't change. Just move on and hope the next match it better.

What do you think would be a good nerf to Wraith? I’m curious.
I'm pretty sure that they'd want the devs to nerf Wraiths movement speed to 96%, make his M1 only take half a health state, making him need to hit the survivor 4 times to down them, and have him sparkle like the Christmas Tree in Dubai while cloaked.
-
@GannTM said:
Can we please tone down with the Wraith hate posts? We get it, y’all hate Wraith because he’s actually good now.
It won't stop until the whiners get their away.
I think the issue with him is that all the tunneling Freddy mains switched to him and people are just over saturated with the amount they see him and how often he tunnels. Only thing that a nerf will do is have all the tunneling mains switch to a different killer.
-

Oh i never claimed that killers are not toxic or that they don´t do those things. But usually someone in the team triggers the killer beforehand. I play like 80% survivor matches. Bond is usually part of my build and it´s amazing what you see with this. People that BM the killer and then play the innocent, people being afk or leading the killer on purpose to other survivors.
Yea, actually, I can see that being the case when I think about it. I do see lots of survivors BM’ing the killer when there was no need to, especially at the exit gates, even though they didn’t tunnel or camp. Makes sense they do it during the match too. I don’t see it much since I’m always doing an objective and only pay attention to my teammates when they’re on a hook or on death hook and need me to take the heat.
-
@Tsulan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2472092#Comment_2472092
Haven´t seen this either. Unless, the survivor teabagged non stop before that.
Please tell me, people don´t point this behavior out, after triggering the killer intentionally?
I do my best to not trigger the killer and have been bm’d by them often in the last few days. Constant nodding and slashing while I’m on hook. Play enough and you will see that both sides are equally as toxic.
-
I don’t understand your issue. You say this game is “piss-easy” yet want to derank for easy matches. If it really was “piss-easy” you’d have no problems dealing with better survivors on survivor sided maps.
Perhaps you’re just not as good as you project yourself to be and want to face players worse than you because you can’t handle admitting that you’re just not very good at the game.
-
Killers are supposed to be somewhat oppressive and have the upper hand versus survivors. Why shouldn't they be allowed to equip Franklin's or Lightborn, in order to counter an easily acquired item that can undo all of their hard work with a simple press of a button?
It is unfair that survivors can bring in items to flashlight save, sabo a hook or rush generators and the killer not be able to counter it. They only have 4 perks versus your teams 16 perks.
As far as swfs, why shouldn't killers know they're going into a match against a premade group with coordination and comms? The game isn't balanced around it and they have an unfair advantage, so why shouldn't killers be able to prepare to face them?

Everyone has the right to play Trapper. He has plenty of mounds and muscles to share with all. It would be a shame to restrict yourself and not enjoy his Majesty. Just make sure to bring him some ginger snaps. He loves them.
-
Baby Nurse - Makes me feel like I'm a good survivor with epic jukes, even though I know I'm bad.
Hag - As long as she doesn't run MYC and tunnel
Bubba- Contrary to what people here claim, I've rarely had them camp unless they were meme-ing or we rushed gens.
Average Nurse- They're fun and not hopeless to face, unlike the top tier Nurses who have become one with her.
Twins- even though it sucks when they camp and slug, its so hilarious to have victor chasing after you and listening to the sounds he makes.
Demo- He's strong in a good players hands. Not too OP but not really weak. Lots of jumpscares when played right.
-
Trapper is better and more OP. He has natural mounds that attract survivors from all over the map. Hag has nothing over him.
