No, swf isn’t the problem, it’s the fact that Behaviour isn’t balancing the game around them and improving matchmaking and balancing maps to be more fair.
Don’t blame people playing with their friends and using tools that are promoted by the devs themselves, blame the Developers.

I personally think there should be a difficult skill check when disarming a trap. Add ons shrink the skill check. Failure leads to getting your hand trapped. That way there is at least some danger. Right now there is almost zero risk to denying him his power.
It would be funny if they implemented this and you could use Merciless Storm on them.

Yes. Unfortunately i think it would fit a killer liker artist more because of how puffy it is
Caw Caw Poopy head does not deserve something as beautiful. She only deserves poop. Claudette is the most worthy of such a garment. And Dwight needs a French maid outfit.
-
Claudette needs this. I need this. I want to feel pretty while hiding in a bush or while getting impaled by Michael's huge pipe.
-
You can also use a flashlight to stun a Nurse while she is charging a blink.
I wish I could play her but her fatigue inflicts pain and I have to step away from the PC when I do.
-
Allow him to fly kick survivors in the face while cloaked.

Also bring back spinning in a circle while in dying* state please. It gave me something fun to do while slugged.

Maybe your MMR isnt high enough to go against good nurse.
If u actually played nurse and stacked the op addons or stupid builds on her u would know how broken she is.
I've been playing for a long time now, before the current MMR and I have faced plenty of strong Nurses since matchmaking never worked. I didn't blame the Nurse for my side losing, I blamed Behaviour and their terrible matchmaking and my own terrible skill at the game.
And just to make this clear, I'm not saying that Nurse shouldn't ever be changed. I am saying as long as Sweaty SWFs are a thing and Devs refuse to balance the game around them and make maps more fair, she shouldn't be touched. If they finally decided to put in the resources and rebalance the map and balance around SWF with communication, then they definitely should rework the Nurse. They shouldn't touch her before they do that.

No one here is talking about pig and trapper, some killers being weak dont justify her being a broken mess.
And no, I have never seen a TOP nurse struggle against a TOP swf (from the tournaments i have seen) Solo players are not refusing to adapt, it's just nurse is uncounterable in solo. You just seem to blinded by bias, just like DH users used to defend this broken mess of a perk
Nope, not blind by bias. I main survivor 98% of the time and can't even play Nurse due to the fact that the loss of camera control and screen darkening during her fatigue cause me to get migraines. I tried her three times and had to go lay down and close my eyes a bit.
Perhaps it's just your bias that blinds you to the fact that Nurse is fine in the current game. And as I said, the game shouldn't be balanced around bad players, it should just make sure bad players are put up against similar skill.

Seems to be the echo chamber and thread spam only works for killers, look they got DH nerfed and at the same time they Made DS and IW hot garbage
Survivor main thread spam seemed to work to get Undying, Ruin, Spirit, Wraith, Freddy and Nurse nerfed over and over again. I guess you just want to see what you want to see.

Oh yes, cause solo players don't exist.
Even top SWF struggle against her
And she struggles against top SWF, your point? Solo players not willing to adapt, improve and generally being bad at the game is not a reason to nerf her. They shouldn't be facing them in the first place, but that issue has nothing to do with her power and everything to do with the crap matchmaking and lack of killer diversity since players don't want to get bullied playing Trapper and Pig.
-
No she doesn’t. She’s one of two killers who can stand a chance against SWF sweat squads. When the devs finally balance around SWF and make maps more balanced with 50/50 loops and not the size of the Sahara Desert, she shouldn’t be touched.

Yup, I'm the same. I'm already bad at looping, Nightfall just makes me want to sit in a locker for its duration.
-
Self care should have just been made base kit at this point. At least then, solo teammates would be encouraged to bring in botany.
-
Myers is fine, just be more aware of your surroundings, try not to feed him any stalk or whatever it’s called and jump in a locker to prevent him from killing you. It can be annoying but I like facing it once in a while because changes up the game.
I just hate clown in general. Any killer that messes with my vision is a pain in the butt.

He needs a lasso.
Maurice as a mount.
And finally, a bazooka.
-
No, that’s Sadako. She’s on strike until she gets buffed and is refusing to leave the basement until then. The entity just forced her to wear that getup.
-
Better character customization. I want more options and more individual cosmetics that aren’t linked to others.
One of my favorite parts of any game is to play dress up with my character and give them a touch of “me” in their wardrobe, so I’d like new cosmetic slots that will let me pick out shoes, gloves, shirts, jackets, hats, hair, make up, glasses, pants, scarves/cloaks, and whatnot. I’d like them to overhaul all cosmetics so we can better mix and match.
More maps with interactive elements. I want to be able to sit at a desk in a classroom on Midwich, lay down on a bed on the Doctors map (it’s on the top of my tongue but I can’t remember it’s name), ride Maurice and more things other than just run around.
-
I want that Dwight magician outfit for my Claudette please. Just add purple sequins to it.
-
I think the game is actually a lot of fun. It’s just people who play this game get off on trying to make their opponents as miserable as possible and make the experience terrible.
It’s also easy to get burn-out from this game because the devs are too scared to switch up the mechanics.
-
Because Oni go rawr!

I'd agree to that. I found him very easy to pick up and do well with to start, but knowing when and how to use his remnant at loops to land hits (which takes a bit to learn the timing and best placement) and when and where you'll need to teleport to lockers will require practice, but the better you get at those things, the more oppressive this killer is in those hands.
FWIW, I think his Nightfall power is much like Pinhead's Chain Hunts, and might be his true strength. I'd like to say I'm surprised by how many times I catch a survivor in the open unaware with him while in Nightfall, but playing against him as survivor gives me the answer, as it can be incredibly difficult to navigate around when you're in it, and it's easy to misplay a tile, miss a safe loop, or simply run into an object while his power is in effect.
As a bush, I can confirm his nightfall is a pain. I end up just running to the edge of a map and praying he doesn’t come by and find me. If he does I’m screwed since I can’t see anything.

I switched to killer until I got them it. It's much easier than playing survivor. I just ignored any survivor I happened upon and searched the map until I found the invite and farmed points with the survivors for the rest of the match.
It was still annoying because they blend in well with the maps and they change locations after a set amount of time, so finding it as a survivor with a killer up my butt was near impossible.

Yeah, that's my worry.
The Knockout buff...oh man, solos are going to have fun with that horrible perk now.
That said - you can't magically make people play better, and the core issue of solo is that sometimes you get potato teammates.
Yea, my heart definitely skipped a couple of beats when I read about the Knockout Buff. I was like, well #########, in combination with the Spine Chill nerf, I guess I’ll be playing less than I already do if killers equip it more often.

It is healthy because without something as threatening as NoeD, survivors will never cleanse totems unless it’s for a challenge or for Inner Strength.
The point of this thread is that NOED, in its current form, doesn't encourage survivors to cleanse totems. Inner Strength and BP are basically the only reasons to do it. NOED is a good reason -not- to cleanse totems.
It depends on how confident a survivor is. If you’re good at looping or avoiding the killer in endgame, then yes, it’s better to wait for it to proc and then cleanse it.
If you’re not, then it’s best to cleanse five totems and to make it easier to do, there are enough perks to help find them.
As I said before, NoeD really isn’t a problem unless it’s Bubbi. If the killer is bad, you can usually work out what perks they have and predict they have NoeD and act accordingly. If they applied enough pressure to prevent survivors from pre-cleansing, then they earned it.
It is really only an issue with solo queue in that most teammates are bad, but then, the games balanced shouldn’t be based around them, matchmaking should do a better job instead.
Sorry for going off topic though. You are right that the change really doesn’t encourage cleansing before it procs, but at least now I don’t have to leave teammates behind and have an easier time finding the totem and going for a last second rescue.

"The unskilled part falls on the survivor who failed to take NoED into account"
That isn't unskilled, that's just lazy/greedy.
"The killer still has to chase the survivor and down them."
With a 4% haste which is quite significant.
"It takes skill to do that against any survivor who knows how to loop. It’s only free or unskilled when the killer is versing bad survivors who don’t know how to do anything other than hold M1 at gens or Shift+W when they see the killer coming at a distance."
With a haste buff no, it doesn't. Is the killer skilled getting a hit with Bloodlust active?
I'm not implying NOED is overpowered at all, it's not. I'm only saying it's unhealthy design that artificially inflates kill rates and rewards bad players.
It is healthy because without something as threatening as NoeD, survivors will never cleanse totems unless it’s for a challenge or for Inner Strength.
And the skilled part is getting the survivor to death hook in order to kill them. NoeD only removes one health state, it doesn’t magically reduce hook states.
That haste effect as well as the instant down are rewards for playing the majority of the match with three perks, making the game easier for survivors. The fact that the perk can be disabled before it comes into play is plenty of counter to it. With the upcoming change to it, it’ll now glow like a beacon in the dark, making it easier for survivors to nuke it. Only the death hook survivors would have anything to fear and should just avoid the killer during endgame.
Really, the only time NoED is a problem is when it’s a camping Bubbi, only it’s not really NoeD that’s the problem, but Bubbis camping ability, which should have been what the devs looked into. But I guess his sales are too good and they don’t want to risk nerfing him.

"What if the person you're chasing is already injured? Then it barely does anything"
4% haste on killer move speed is more than barely.
"What if it gets cleansed before you even get a hit? These things aren't that rare."
Yes, that is extremely rare.
"The only issue with NOED is that it can be hard for solo survivors to find and cleanse it, which is getting fixed."
I actually don't think this is the main issue. The main issue is it giving free unskilled kills.
The killer has to play the majority of the match with three perks, therefore it’s not a free or unskilled kill. The unskilled part falls on the survivor who failed to take NoED into account and avoid the killer when the last gen is completed. The killer still has to chase the survivor and down them.
It takes skill to do that against any survivor who knows how to loop. It’s only free or unskilled when the killer is versing bad survivors who don’t know how to do anything other than hold M1 at gens or Shift+W when they see the killer coming at a distance.
-
It doesn’t need anything. You have multiple counters to it such as Starstruck, Iron Grasp, and Mad Grit. It actually works in your favor if survivors are body blocking hooks, since that means they’re not working on gens, basically free pressure.

stand by hatch, wait for survivor to set off your whispers, close hatch, follow whispers to which ever door they go to.
So whats the difference to what you want to do, which is hide in a bush or locker, wait for killer to come by and then open door and leave?

lmao at these comments. USING WHISPERS at end game is basically a 100 percent win.
there you are saying " are not entitled to an easy gate opening" while killers are literally gonna win 100 percent.
how are you gonna run from killer and open gate same time? hello, anybody home today.......
Killer has already won the game if they killed your three teammates and closed the hatch before you found it.
It’s not a 100% win. You have perks that speed up the opening of the gate. You can wait by he gate and let the killer close the hatch and get a good start at unlocking them. If you’re so desperate to escape you can bring in a key or run plunderers.
-
@Nos37 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3017522#Comment_3017522
Easy gate opening??
Whispers means a 0% chance at a gate opening. That's the problem!
Either the gates are close enough together for the killer to stand in the middle, or far enough apart that they only need to stay near the gate that has Whispers active.
The game shifts when there is only 1 remaining survivor. Perks like Whisper, No Way Out, and NOED ######### all over this.
Keys were removed for a reason. Time for these perks to stop auto-killing the last survivor.
Why do you deserve to have yet another chance when you and your team failed at your objective? Your team failed to remain alive long enough to at least power up the doors and they failed to have enough people live long enough to work on the door and loop the killer. You also failed to find the hatch before the killer.
Also, did they remove keys? I didn’t see any news on the front. The last thing I heard about them was that they require an unlocking animation in order to work. You can also run Plunderers to get an increased chance at finding a key and you can bring in an offering to know where the hatch will spawn. You also have perks that can speed up the opening of the exit gates.
You had plenty of chances. You’re not entitled to more.
-
It only lets the killer know your general area. It's not that strong nor is it run very much compared to other perks. The only time it can be a problem is when the killer closes the hatch and you're trying to open the gate, but in that instance, you basically used up all of your chances of escape and are not entitled to an easy gate opening.

Nope. I only purchased one auric cell cosmetic and that was the afro for Claudette. It was something I wanted for her for a long time (though I also want a rainbow version of it). I knew not to spend money in the store because I wasn't happy with the direction of the game for a long time. While I do think they did a lot of good changes, they seem hell bent at destroying my favorite playstyle and they refuse to give us a better matchmaking system.
If they were willing to take more risks with the core mechanics and not be afraid to say "okay this didn't work" and rework changes more often, I'd be more than happy to spend money in the store. Unfortunately, they move slower than a snail.
-
Trapper.
Starts match with all of his traps.
Bloody Coil is now base kit.
Traps change color to a shade that is similar (not the same) to the ground that it is placed upon.
He can throw his machete at survivors but the aiming is very difficult.
New Character model with higher polygon count to show off his muscular body.
New Shirtless cosmetic.
Legendary Jason Cosmetic.
-
How about we wait and see what changes to the devs have made to the core mechanics of the game before we complain. Maybe they’ll surprise us with a base kit, weaker Ruin or something? (I know it’s a stretch but trying to be optimistic).
-
It’s because teammates in SoloQ are too stupid and/or scared to work on the box. Otherwise he’s really not much different from other m1 killers.
-
It’s just what you’re used to. I haven’t owned a console in years and played Dbd on PC only. I actually purchased a PlayStation controller because I thought it would be easier to control my character since I have issues with my hands and find it hard to 360 the killer and look behind myself while running.
Turns out using the controller was more frustrating for me and I promptly went back to the keyboard and mouse.
Also, it’s not like Dbd demands a lot of interaction. Most of it is hold M1, press M2, Spacebar, Control and maybe one or two more commands.

I just stopped playing killer because I got tired of people trying to annoy me and I really didn’t like tunneling or camping anyone. It just seemed that survivors were playing to annoy and frustrate rather than having a good game, so when they did, I did the same to them. This was before cross play was a thing tho, so it was less randoms and more swfs since I played killer in the evening at that time.

Not until the Devs decide to balance the game around well coordinated SWF on comms and make maps more fair with loops that are actually mindgameable rather than strong structure that connects to strong structure over and over again.

Maybe they'd learn to be better sports about it, if not, I'll take the easy route and ignore Mr Clicky Clicky and take out the weakest link. It's only playing the game and fulfilling the role.
