  • Oh my god

    This sounds fun !!

  • So... Someone had a bad game once in a tournament against literal pro players, and we'll use this as a basis for a mode that prevents casual killers from running into Gary and Tom playing casually after their shift ?

  • Dear god, 120fps not feeling smooth !

I used to play Borderlands 3 on 20fps flat for a while and now anything more than that feels like heaven !

Joking aside, I envy your setup :D

  • Another random fact : the Hound addon's symbol was originally the "Ghud Boiye" symbol. It was changed to Wonnug in english, but some languages still have the easter egg in them.

  • Trust me, when you play killer, you'll feel like there are much fewer hooks overall :(

  • I can't say I've had visible glitches, but the loading time is very inconsistent, sometimes quite fast and sometimes more than a minute.

  • Only watched for Hag, Legion and Ghostface as the killers I play most, and I don't remember everything since I watched it a couple of days ago.

I remember feeling like Hag deserves a little more love than what he thought for her.

I didn't like his idea for survivors to all be able to destroy traps. They already have pretty good counterplays (crouching, setting them off when she's far or carrying a survivor, flashlights, following her around to set them off as she's putting them down) and playing against a coordinated team pretty much already reduces her to "3gen or nothing".

  • This would greatly hinder Hag's main strength, but it's something I've thought sometimes as well. Not only survivors are weaker but they're also going in completely blind base kit.

There is a perk that removes the killer's aura reading (Residual Manifest), but that requires you to land a flashlight blind and it only lasts 30 seconds, so it generally won't be useful once your chase is over.

I'd love it if it was for a longer duration.

  • I only play in duo, very very sometimes trio, and while I cannot speak for all swfs, we're just as inattentive with each other as we are with any player. Anytime someone is hooked we assume either one of us is going for the unhook, and we've had the "Okay do you go or I go?" "Dude I'm the one who's hooked" discussion many times.

I generally have my fun from playing with them and not particularly from escaping (even though it's always nice), so when there's a chance to save or trade with a (presumably) solo teammate during endgame I'll generally attempt it. I won't against an instadown killer or if they're in basement though, I'll assume it's reasonable to not risk a snowball.

  • We'll Make It, Lithe, Dance With Me, Windows of Opportunity

Not a huge success because I still suck at chases, but good news is I do escape some of those quite easily !

Thinking on getting Overcome instead of Lithe to break line of sight more easily and then maybe Q&Q or Iron Will instead of Windows.

Then We'll Make It is my designated "team perk" because otherwise my whole build is to support myself.

  • I strongly dislike Autohaven maps on both killer and survivor. The maps are dark and the layout/spawns are confusing.

Scarred Hand at least gives something in return. It's super gimmicky, but it doesn't just disable the ability to teleport for extra bloodpoints.

I guess you're right, though it does give a bloodpoint compensation.

  • I was kind of expecting to see Scarred Hand here, considering removing the Hag's teleportation power without any speed compensation just about makes her the worst m1 killer ?

Could be wrong and maybe it has awesome plays possible with it, but the only time I've seen people use that it's to make shack a deathbox and it's not very riveting gameplay.

I don't know if it's really intended since you can't see anything at all ๐Ÿ˜…

In this room there's a very visible chest to open on the left and there's a Felix looking at it on the right:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/A3YDOU2LC46R/image.png

    Same room on PS4:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/3MH70SACWV3O/image.png

    I... I didn't know that room existed... ?!

  • These challenges usually take so long for me ! I'll bring Protective Gloves if I can, and then promptly forget I have to sabo hook and go through the game normally. I keep hoping I'll have an actual occasion to make a sabo play, for one, two, three games, then I'll finally say the heck with it and sabo random hooks.

  • *Sad Legion main noises* :(

  • RPD, in my experience.

Lery, Midwich, The Game (yes I know about the pallets, but the gens spawns are confusing and the map is very open), Red Forest and Autohaven are other great offenders in my experience.

(I'm not talking actual balance, just maps I find confusng and therefore have a lower escape rate on)

  • Same as previous user.

Legendary skins, assuming they're well-designed, will be bought. They will make money off of them. Paid time limited outfits is greedy.

  • Off The Record is not even that useful. If the killer wants to tunnel, they can absolutely do it while within basekit BT, and even if not, that survivor is useless for a good while if they want to get value from their perk.

I don't see how that would warrant a nerf...

I do love the name Off The Hook though :)

  • Hahahaha

I've seen a couple of Swamp Creature Hag todays and my heart is filled with joy :D

  • I tend not to use addons that are rarer than yellow. I just think "maybe you'll waste them and it will be all for nothing :O", so just in case I take lower rarity addon that would frustrate me less if I lose them.

I haven't played for years so the hoard is not much right now, but it will undoubtedly grow !

I've done that before too playing Survivor when a chill, funny killer tries to let me go. If they won fairly and also were chill, I'll resist their attempts to let me go. Sometimes I'll wiggle off and point at them and point at the hatch until they close it.

Nothing more funny than a killer that keeps trying to let me go and me just running back into the map to sacrifice myself for them. A lot of Survivors know what it's like to play Killer and some of us don't take advantage or BM killers when they are struggling.

Can be so much fun when both sides are chill and just want to have some laughs together!

I actually meet much more fun and chill survivors than ones that are there to BM me. :)

The very next game after that one where I surprisingly got hatch, I got my adept achievement against a team with two survivors (a Nea and Claudette) that were just there to mess with me with flashlights and Vigil/Sprint Burst on Ormond (sent me there).

They hovered around me all game, but never in an infuriating way. They didn't once teabag or click or anything, they just wanted to have fun in chase (and they were really good at it ! :D), but they didn't try to tilt me. Their teammate who escaped was really nice in endgame chat as well.

My friends always say I live in the "DbD good timeline" because I'm very lucky with the people I'm matched with haha ! :)

  • I do !

I really really like that map. First, because it's the map of my favourite killer, Hag. <3

Its different elevation levels and dense vegetation make it the most unique and authentic map in the game in my opinion, nothing about the loops or the walls there feel artificial like it often does on other maps.

I always love getting it, whether as killer or survivor :D

You can easily go into the matchmaking discord and be like "hey guys can you help me get adept x survivor" and people will literally throw the games so you can escape, I got all of my adept survivors in one game after another over the course of an hour. It really is that easy.

I would say that all killer adepts are unfair unless the killer has a really strong power (nurse, blight, wesker), there are a lot of older killers that haven't been updated that are borderline impossible to play in boon meta (pig, wraith, meyers) and you lose points when survivors heal, and if you go to try and find the boon, you can lose a gen easily, which ends up losing you points on gatekeeper.

You can play a game where you are constantly chasing survivors, hooking, ending chases in 15 seconds, and keeping a good tempo and play perfectly, and you will lose and not get adept. Macro game is very important, you have to pressure gens, you have to have map pressure, and not every single killer can do that with their base kit perks.

My rank definitely isn't helping either, im iri 1 killer and I typically play late at night which seems to put me against very very good survivors.

I guess I just need to wait until rank reset and play during the day when the kiddos get out of school and sandbag against really bad players.....

I don't really get your argument for survivor adepts being much easier. Adepts are achievements you're meant to get playing the game somewhat naturally. You're saying survivor is easier because you can cheese it by asking good players to powerlevel you ? That's... not really the spirit of the achievement in my opinion.

That's why I think survivor and killer adepts are mostly just as hard. I don't count cheese haha !

Though I do agree that some killers are very much harder to get adepts on than others, and therefore much harder than survivor adepts. I tried for Wraith the other day and quickly gave up. My first attempt at Ghostface was very bad. And I still haven't gotten Hag because I can't seem to keep my perks all game haha !

  • I don't know about that.

I don't think getting adept achievement on survivor is as simple as "get carried".

I think some killer adepts are unfair, but not particularly because survivor is easier. Some killer adepts are harder than others because of bad perks, you also have to get a grasp of the killer's gameplay, and not all killers have an easy time maxing out all emblems to double pip.

However double pipping as killer is often linked to things you have agency over : after a few games, you can see where you're lacking, and adjust accordingly. Adept survivors can be lost very easily for reasons outside of the player's control : bad teammates, camping/tunneling/afk killers, or the game being too tight to make risky/rewarding plays.

So I'd say both are equally hard and frustrating for different reasons.

For your trouble, maybe your current rank is making it difficult to double pip ? I got adept Legion yesterday in just a couple of games, with one person getting hatch, because my rank was still bronze and therefore easier to pip.

  • This is goofy as hell

    I don't know what's funnier

    • Lockers being actual, official death traps in this game
    • "We need a survivor... Hm, Huntress looks nice !" - The event creator, probably
    • Seeing Deathslinger zoom around
    • That you can throw your medkit at the killer and still stun them
    • That... really weird way the pallets fall down

    I love all of it

  • Yes, but it's cute being carried over a strong shoulder for 2+ minutes as your oppressor, turned protector !, sctarches their head walking to every single tile of the map trying to find hatch ! Hahaha

  • People also leave their items to say gg when they otherwise can't.

I play very chill and not particularly to win. I've had my fair share of teams that beat me hollow wait in the gate and give me their items before leaving as a soothing gesture like "we had fun, you did good/were fair".

The rarer the item, the stronger the sentiment :)

  • Nurse is actually really fun to chase. I'm lucky enough to not face Starstruck/one-hit-downs Nurses often, and most I see are very fun to try and mindgame. :)

And 15% is nothing???? Or what you trying to say here?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3238182#Comment_3238182

Killers don't need no buffs no more. Killers are strong enough to deal with swf. Anything else is either skill issue or bad luck (messed up tile RNG, being unprepared against prepared squad). Neither is fixable with even more killer buffs.

Solo Q needs massive attention asap.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3238153#Comment_3238153

It's always the survivors who are bad, need to adapt and git gud. Never are killers skill a debate here huh. So funny.

I was just quoting Peanits, not really arguing in any direction. :)

Like whenever I play with my friends it's always the dumbest stuff you'd ever seen.

    'You're playing Nea?'

'Gonna play as a Nea as well, you aren't gonna see me until hatch time.'

    -

    'Where's the Killer?'

    'Main building.'

'Uhhhhh what map are we on again? Yamaoka right?'

    'Dude this is Badham.'

    -

'Oh man I'm gonna sweat SO HARD this chase. 5 Gen loop chase!'

*Screams of Claudette in the distance.'

'I think you lasted 10 seconds.'

    -

    Or my absolute favorite.

'A pig huh? Amanda, I used to main you. I know you. I know exactly what you can and can't do. And what you can't do is kill me. But you can try.'

*Immediately faceplant into a bush with collision.*

    'Ah crap she's mori'ing me.'

    -

Like I know even with a 4-man swf at a glance we could be a bully squad, and sure we try to play legit, but it's like the second we hit ready we all share the same brain cell. How are people even finding a crew that has all these hours, tries really hard, has perfect comms, and isn't in a competitive DBD team? It seems when I'm a killer the coordination is insane. I can't get it for myself though

Lol this is pretty much how my friends and I are when playing. Collectively having one braincell and dying in the most ridiculous ways hahaha !

I'm happy there are more players out there doing this thought I was alone ๐Ÿ˜€ I play Yun Jin a lot but last time giving hatch to killer with her was probably 3-4 months ago so it was not me ๐Ÿ˜€

Funny coincidence then hahaha !! Would have been fun ! xD

At high MMR there aren't any aside from streamers who play so well they may as well not be solo.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3237865#Comment_3237865

And at very high mmr it's common to get 3-4 escape. Why? Because you can blast the gens and the game massively favors survivor. Also be aware that freddy got nerfed for having a 4% higher kill rate than the rest.

What this tells us is that SWF needs to be nerfed to adjust for very high MMR. So get to nerfing devs.

Dude, if I remember well we've already had a similar debate in another thread about those same numbers, let's not get into another one here x)

Instead I'll just ask, how have you been ? Which character are you enjoying currently ? :)

  • Not a huge fan of medieval stuff, but it's going to be my first time having a new (presumably) original killer releasing on the game (I joined a couple of weeks after Dredge came out), so I'm kind of excited since I usually like them more than licensed ones. :)

  • The devs have already stated that the escape rate for solos or swf is, in the vast majority of cases, within a couple of percents. Only at very high mmr you can see significant difference between solo and swf, and that difference does not exceed 15%.

  • Maybe the killer at those times were not carrying any void energy ?

Though I hear people have been having trouble doing this challenge.

  • Nice meme haha

As for the answer to your question, I don't particularly enjoy them, no. I'm generally already happy doing the challenge one time.

This has 1 exception : the "Stun killer 4 times in one trial". I hate that challenge, because I'm not great at chasing or pallet stuns, I don't like using flashlights, and I don't have any perk that can stun the killer (nor would I want to use them repeatedly if I did have them).

I'd be more than okay with this one being over multiple trials.

  • What the hell, BHVR worked with Infogrames ?? This is such an infamous, cursed studio in French pop culture !

  • If BHVR wants to work on passion projects or stuff that isn't DbD, by all means, they should. It's not like they owe us to drop their other creative endeavors just because DbD is popular. I think it would be sad if they were always shackled to one game.

  • I feel like this needs a bump, feels like a serious issue

  • I wonder what could replace mending without making Legion's gameplay too different.

    • Broken status ? A lot of good players already don't heal against Legion, and it would greatly reduce Legion's gen pressure.
    • Incapacitated ? A bit much, and it would not solve the problem since survivors hate Incapacitated and it would go from "mending simulator" to "waiting simulator".
    • Action speed debuff, like Gift of Pain ? That could be something if it was anything more than anecdotical, but it would also make the games long.

I really wonder how BHVR would rework Legion is necessary.

I personally don't see a problem with Legion right now, most of my games as survivor against them are not that long because they usually stomp uncoordinated teams, and most games when I play him similarly last within 10 minutes.

  • Oh, that is indeed weird. Maybe you should submit a bug report ?

  • @Eelanos said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3237462#Comment_3237462

Maybe I'm misreading this, but isn't 15 void energy 50,000 times 750,000 void energy?

I think the challenge is just "Deposit 15 energy in one go in 50,000 collective games".

Yeah 15 void Energy times 50,000 is 750,000, but I don't know if the gauge of the challenge is 15/15 or 1/1 completion, but it doesn't really matter either way.

You have to put 15 void energy in an unstable rift in one go, in one trial. 50,000 person have to do this before the event ends to unlock this one, but you don't have to do it simultaneously with 50,000 other people or to keep the challenge active once you've done your part I think.

I hadn't thought about it before and now I'm getting confused x)

  • Everyone has the challenge : "deposit 15 energy in void rifts in one trial".

When 50k void energy has collectively been deposited with this challenge, the challenge is achieved :)

  • I've never used either of these. I started playing as Meg and my first exhaustion perk was Sprint Burst, but then I switched to Lithe because I like the combo of Lithe and Dance With Me.

  • Oh I get a lot of DCs when playing Legion :(

People don't like to mend :(

  • Survivor got a bit less rewarding to play since 6.1., whereas Killer as a role got more attractive.

The ratio of 4:1 players is a bit finnicky and right now is rarely, if ever, found in daytime.

  • There is no reason where there should ever be more than a minute or so not on gens ?

    I don't think so.

    • You can play team healer and be constantly unhooking and healing with little time in between.
    • You can need to reset while a killer holds a powerful 3-gen.
    • You can be chased for longer than a minute (granted, I usually can't)
    • People can be all scrambling around looking for their Plaything totem or for NOED (before EGC).

So yeah, not being on gens for a minute or two happens for very legit reasons.

That being said : I completely agree that survivors being so non cooperative are a real pain. Why they think they're smart for wasting their time (and yours) like this is beyond me.
