I hope it doesn't mess up their lore even more (looking at you Susie) but I'm hyped for it. I love Legion :D
-
Might be that you are a better killer than survivor ? :)

That's assuming you don't get caught by a killer with a quick lethal down just trying to get in range
True, but I feel like those cases are not really Reassurance's issue but more specific to those killers, if an issue there is. Like, if a Bubba is camping, he can instadown with chainsaw, but that's more an issue on the scale of Bubba rather than on Reassurance in my opinion.
-
To be fair I feel like even Reassurance is lackluster. With only (and that's already optimistic) one person on the team having the perk, it hardly counters camping at all. 30 seconds once per hook instance is virtually nothing, when taking into account all the time it takes to go there without doing your objective, and then go back, it's basically useless. I'd much rather it having a much longer duration like a minute, and then deactivating in endgame collapse, rather than its current state.

Seriously. We've got two sympathetic male killers (Wraith and Billy) and the rest are just Real Bad People. YMMV on Trapper, but even if he grew up in a twisted household, he had a sadistic streak all the same and he became a person that enjoyed inflicting suffering.
The Pig is the closest thing we have to an unsympathetic female killer, and she has both a tragic backstory and is a licensed killer and thus not BHVR's design. Of the female killers, only Plague, Huntress, and Nurse actually murdered anyone in their lives (and with Plague, that was entirely from the archives, her original lore made no mention of it.) Hag, Spirit, and Artist are completely innocent, Julie and Susie were party to a murder but didn't actually commit one, and Onryo... is tricky to classify, but IIRC, she was just a kid with psychic powers she wasn't totally in control of even though she did kill someone with those powers.
I want a female killer with lore like the Trickster, Clown, or Ghostface - someone who's just an irredeemable bastard. Extra points if she gets shoes.
I just want to say I did not expect the shoe thing and it made me burst out laughing
Thanks x)

Hopefully a bug. If it was intended, it would defeat the entire point of the matchmaking incentives.
Yeah, but they could be thinking that since the event is going to bring more players, presumably survivors since they were telling people to "bring their friend into the fog", they might have thought that incentives wouldn't be necessary. Or thought that since it's double bloodpoints, no reason not to play survivor.
So I wouldn't really be surprised either way !
-
Now the eternal question, is it a bug or is it intentional ?
-
I've been saving up some bloodpoints these past fewdays because I was waiting for my pay to buy a few DLCs and prestige a character, and I'm not looking forward to the 5-10 minutes I'll spend on the bloodweb haha !
-
I really don't like the Finishing Mori idea and the changes it brings with it (Devour Hope what did they do to you !)
I honestly don't really care that much for unlimited Unbreakables, I'd be fine with no Finisher Mori/UB and just a button to drop dead when you're slugged with only 1 standing teammate, so that they can get hatch. :)
-
Oh I think that would be very interesting ! I'd love a role-reversal chapter, either for existing killers that could be close to shifting, or as a new chapter like you've described :)
-
It starts the time you'll boot your game and see the little glowy blood point icon :)
-
Oh I would love that ! I really want some stats on my games, but I don't have the motivation to keep track of the myself.
-
With that long sword, I could see the Knight being a 110% killer with some sort of dash at some point, or faster bloodlust that increasingly makes them faster.
As an actual power, yeah, two stances could make sense !
I also associate knights with medieval Europe and therefore christianity/a perceived godly mission, so I could see the Knight being a corrupted knight with a special bond to the Entity as it takes the place of the worshipped God. How that would manifest could be with preferential treatment from the Entity, like being able to summon a hook or create a wall to herd survivors off certain areas.

Altruism is killers 5th perk. Always, especially in Endgame. 1 guy is on hook and 3 at the exit? Of course the 3 want to save instead of just winning the game, because that would be too easy.
And then, because they are too stupid to do the rescue, the killer ends with a 3K.
I think what you say is true, but sometimes when you're a survivor at the gate you feel compelled to at least try and get the save, because you've had people several times being salty in endgame chat like "worst teammates ever, didn't even come save me". ^^''
If the team was 4 people communicating, by all means, they'd just get out and take the 3E as a win with no hard feelings on the part of the person who died. But when the team is a bunch of solos or a duo and solos, for example, there's not really a collective notion of "win". The person who dies in this scenario often sees it not as a sacrifice to prevent a snowball, but as a betrayal from their team and a loss that could have been prevented. If you don't even try to rescue the solo who's on hook while all other survivors are at the gate, they'll be complaining on the forums in no time about their teammates being a (presumably) selfish swf.
That being said, overly altruistic lobbies have led to some of the funniest moments I've had as killer, namely downing 3 people from taking protection hits in front of hook while very obviously using Mad Grit ! :D

I had 0 Auric Cells before buying them. I bought 1100 from the store, i bought the rift and i remained with 100. I'm almost at level 70 and I'm sure i got every Auric Cell possible from the rift. I didn't buy anything in the store with them.
In that case I have no idea, sorry ! :(
-
Maybe you had those 75 or 25 to spare from prior sales and never noticed ?
I know I still have like 25 auric cells in my bank from the anniversary because I bought cosmetics with uneven prices and Pig half off

Susie's lore is so confusing. Is she the timid girl who Frank had to physically force to join them in stabbing the janitor because she didn't want to be a part of a murder, or is she the teenage psycho who was stabbing shoplifters and cutting up her cheerleader bullies with palette knives? Cosmetics have always created their own stories that don't always seem to fit with canon, but nowhere is that more apparent than Susie.
Wraith would make a great survivor - he harbored great resentment for people who destroyed others' lives for material reasons like money or power, and everyone he did kill was a clear act of wel-deserved vigilante justice. He's only a killer because the Entity mindwhammied him; it's not like Plague or Billy or Twins or Nurse where there was some psychological break or exploitable aspect of their personality that could turn an otherwise innocent person into someone who would start killing indiscriminately. Someday I hope they actually use their alternate universe lore for a chapter where they present reversed versions of existing characters.
Exactly ! :)
I look forward to such a chapter :)
-
I'd love to see Wraith switch to the survivor side. I could see Susie from the Legion being close to survivor from her original lore (not that weird cosmetic lore that contradicts their whole original story) as well !
-
I guess I'm more of a survivor main... Much of the content that got me interested in the game was from friends streaming me their survivor games, and I do play that role more often due to having a bunch of friends to duo with (a lot of them I actually met during games as killer :D). I'm not really good at, well, surviving, and I wouldn't play it solo, but I enjoy playing it with friends and I know I'll eventually improve. :)
I do greatly enjoy playing killer as well, and before playing the game, when I started exploring the wiki, I had the biggest crush on Hag. I though she was the coolest looking killer and I really wanted to learn to play her, she was the first DLC I bought. I was so excited, and immediately heartbroken to learn she required a lot of map knowledge and some other teachables to be played well, so I set my expectations a bit lower and learnt to play Legion. It took me a lot of time to start playing other killers because I'm just really attached to Legion and Hag now. <3
-
I was once in a game with 3 CoH ups and one Shadowstep.
It was completely crazy because it wasn't done on purpose, the two solos with my duo both had the perk.

Personally, I don't think that in any game there is a thing like "I play both sides all the time". It's false.
Each person prefer some role over other.
Even in the tournaments of a teamplay games, each person of a team maining 1 role. And he\she plays and practice this role most of the time.
Even if someone plays different roles, they do that mostly for fun, but they do have a main and a main role.
Exactly for this game: Killer mains and Survivor mains see the game completely differently.
Survivors: "There is more toxic killers than survivors."
Killers: "There is more toxic survivors than killers."
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3244000#Comment_3244000
Unfortunately, this thing is something you can't really deny in a asymmetrical game, there is always will be a "Fights and argues between survivors and killers", since everyone has a main role, as I mentioned above.=)
Oh I'm not denying them the right to debate, I'm sorry if it felt that way, that was unintentional. I just think it rarely has any positive outcome, but I could be wrong.
I'm lucky to rarely see any of these behaviours in game on either side (I can't remember the last time someone teabagged me and I've only ever been hit on hook a couple of times), so coming on the forums is always an adventure in seeing the other side of DbD, haha !
-
I don't think making a yet another thread pitting survivors against killers on a matter of honor or faith is very healthy, even if this is presented with remarkable clarity.
I'm sorry for what's heading your way.
-
That Mikaela looks so done
She's like that one Keanu Reeves meme hahaha
-
I don't know about the killer redesigns.
Legion is mundane, true, but it's kinda their thing. They're kind of a faceless killer, could be anyone. Also, they have really great cosmetics for a little extra funk.
As for Hag, I really like her base appearance, especially the official artworks or hers are so nice, but her in game model could probably be improved a little.
-
I very rarely get salty at Nurses. First, because I think they're actually fun to chase.
But also because when I started playing a few months ago, Nurses were actually some of the kindest players I encountered, a lot of them being patient with me when they saw I only had a few hours of game and was messing up quite a bit.
I pay it forward anytime a Nurse messes up and doesn't get any kills, which is getting rarer as I did get a bit better at survivor since then so I'll get medium skill killers now, but it still happens occasionally when matchmaking does its thing :)
-
I hoard all addons/items rarer than yellow. I'll make an exception for a green add-on when I'm feeling festive, but otherwise purple and iri are carefully hoarded.
-
I actually tried Spirit for the first time this weekend for a daily, and what the hell, she's so fun to play !
Immediately poured all my bloodpoints into getting her some more addons :)

I have a build on one of my survivors that helps track the killer without reading their aura (since most stealth killers have no aura to see).
Premonition, Rookie Spirit, Empathy, Any Means Necessary
Oh that sounds like such a nice build ! I think Rookie Spirit is underrated.

That would seem situational as a standalone, but like you said about the secondary effect, it would have to be pretty damn nutty to be considered in somebodys build
It was just a passing thought :)
I agree that without another effect it would be meme-level haha.

Can you get adept with 3K if you get merciless? I haven't done it myself, and I haven't heard of anyone doing it. Although I will say double pipping as survivor is much harder.
You can get your adept that way, yes ! I got both Adept Legion and Ghostface this weekend from 3Ks.
It is only possible in Silver or below though I would presume since double pips are easier to get then :)

"Whenever a survivor sees you, you see them" That is object of obsession am I not correct?
Yeah I just said it would be a killer version of Object of Obsession
OoO is whenever the killer sees you, you see them (+shows your aura every 30 secs)
This would be something similar but for killer, like if you're breaking something and a survivor sees your aura with Alert, you would see their aura at the same time
-
Reminds me of a funny idea I had the other day : since survivors have Windows of Opportunity and killers have Zenshin Tactics, it would be funny to make a killer version of some survivor perks
Namely : Object of Obsession, but for killer
Whenever a survivor sees you, you see them. (I wouldn't put in the part where every 30 seconds killer's aura is revealed to everyone because it would be cracked, but we could find a second effect to make it work even if survivors don't have aura perks)
It would hard counter Kindred / Wiretap but I thought it was a fun concept

why ignoring the second one? u play bad u did nothing all game to help progress the game STILL the key gives u the adept for free, u did nothing u were a bush all game and u get it, can u see the disparity and lets not pretend people dont bring keys when trying adepts because they do, especially before the nerf like 5 years of the same it was and still is when they try it.
on top of that it doesnt matter if u get bad teammates or not, its completely irreelvant meanwhile as killer u better get bad survivors or u wish u will get it, just wish because u wont get it.
In your second example, you're still not playing naturally, and still cheesing ; being a weight to your team, sacrificing their lives, so that you can get your achievement. Sure people do it, but that's not really in the spirit of the achievement.
I already had a similar debate with another user recently, so I don't really want to keep a back and forth considering I can feel I won't change your mind and that you won't change mine.
Let's just agree to disagree :)
-
I wouldn't mind people seeing in postmatch that I queued up with a friend. We know our level isn't very threatening, so it's not like killer would have any reason to think we were sweat city. :)
I'd be curious to see who was a swf when I play killer as well. I always assume I'm going against solos, but my friend is always grumpy about those "damn swfs too strong" even though he's low mmr and never plays solo himself haha !
-
@hiken said:

thing is they are way easier specially if u play with a friend who will give his life for u, no one is holding hands with you when playing killer, neither can bring an item that will make u get it, can u see the difference?. its massive and there is no much frustration at getting a surv adept at all, i got 4 or 5 yesterday easily meanwhile as killer....
In the example you're talking about you require the active intervention of someone else that makes their life disposable for you to get the adept. You're not doing it naturally, you're cheesing it.
My point is that just because some people take a fast-pass at the queue for the rollercoaster doesn't mean the 2h wait aren't the same for everyone else who don't have an accomplice.

Yeah pallet stuns are a nightmare at the moment. I can't hit them to save my life either. I think it was something to do with trying to bandaid reverse stunning. I tend to ride the line pretty thin so Ive been getting hit through alot of pallets im smashing my spacebar to throw.
Oh, you misunderstand. I have always been bad at them. xD
I'm still pretty recent to the game (started during the masquerade event) and I haven't really put a lot of time into practicing chase extensively or really learning how to loop certain tiles, so I'm still kinda flailing around grasping at straws when chased. I'll need quite a bit more experience to register naturally when to slam pallet down and when not to :)
-
@Jangles said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3243147#Comment_3243147
Smash hit, parental guidance, lightweight, residual manifest is pretty decent. Slam a pallet on their head and blind with torch, by the time the blind wears off you're gone with 0 scratch marks.
I heard about that build, but I am extremely bad at getting pallet stuns (and at flashlights), so that ship has sailed for me haha !
-
Just because survivor adepts can be cheesed doesn't mean they're meant to be easier. If you're trying to get them naturally, you're in for a world of frustrations as well considering so much is directly out of your control.
That being said, I understand the frustration. It is harder on some killers than on others.
-
@Jangles said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3242988#Comment_3242988
I love that build. Lithe, Dance with me and quick and quiet. I call it "drop a gear and disappear"
I like the rhyme haha !
I'm thinking of maybe switching to Overcome instead of Lithe to disappear out of sight before vaulting, maybe with Lightweight, I'll have to check it out at some point :)
-
I've only played Clown a couple of times, but yeah, the yellow bottles went largely ignored when I played him. Yo'ure faster, but either so is your opponent, or they're already long gone when you have to wait for the gas to kick in.
-
A big part of perks, on both sides, is impredictability. If you can surprise the opponent with your build, you can get it to work at least once.
As an example, I use Lithe/Dance With Me. It works pretty often in early game, a bit less once the killer's seen me vault. It definitely wouldn't work if the killer saw in lobby that I had that combo.
Seeing the perk loadouts of survivors would remove a lot of diversity from them, as survivor meta would shift back or crank it up towards what is strong regardless of the situation (DH for exhaustion, busted medkits for healing, Adrenaline, and so on and so forth) instead of giving situational/underrated builds a chance. Niche or lesser used perks would greatly fade from common builds.
-
Pretty often. I'm an impatient killer with depth perception issues !
-
Those are pretty sweet cosmetics !
-
Absolutely.

Of course there are scenarios where it makes sense, such as the killer is clearly distracted and un-hooker has We'll Make It. But very few people run We'll Make it and team mates seem to just want to go right back on that hook lol
Oh trust me I know those teammates haha. They're the same that want immediate heals when it's their turns on hook. I had one spam crouching after I unhooked them wanting a heal, with a Huntress visibly pulling up her hatchet in the distance, haha ! They didn't last very long, to say the least. x)
-
I generally heal under hook or not far from it, because I have We'll Make It and often Guardian, so I know the killer is far enough to pull off a quick heal. In some cases it's better, because otherwise running off will leave tracks (mine, not the unhooked) and if the killer comes back, they will most likely follow those tracks, interrupt the heal and get a down.
That being said, I don't do it when in front of a ranged killer. That's just silly.
-
I think a lot of people are unused to facing Hag and just don't know her counterplays, at least for a while. I'm not great at survivor, and when played these past few days I had the genuine joy to face Hag a couple of times, but my teammates didn't seem to know you could crouch over her traps. I had to show them while going for unhooks.
-
Lucky you ! :)
My first match as Pig was this weekend and I got Eyrie of Crows and a Yui that was outskilling me all game haha, no boops :(
(I also forgot I had reverse bear traps as my power, and put them on two survivors in a last minute effort to try and salvage my game, and by force of chance, it did get the good Yui killed as she didn't have time to go through all Jigsaw boxes during endgame collapse :D)
