I do not consider "gg" a positive endgame chat as it is often a praise on survivors own work or auto celebration. Same as for the killer. If I have fun I will spend 10 seconds of my time writing something. Yes there are very nice people, I would like to play with or against you, but it's just too rare. If you play very good the best scenario is silence at this point. I cannot recall how many times I heard people wishing a family member to die or whatever because (is it even worth specifying?) what, I had 4 hex perks? Or because I protected a generator? Camon.

Oh, that's very upsetting. I'm sorry you go against so much harassment...

If it can give you a little hope for survivors, here's a couple of my most recent killer endgame chats, both after 3Ks =)

    30min Ghostie Adept.PNG

(That one was a 30min game haha, tight 3gen, spent like 15 minutes defending it)

    Baby Pig.PNG

(One of my first games as Pig, rocky start and got looped for 2 whole gens by that Mikaela in orange)

Hope you get good games next ! =D

  • Against a full SWF, I have to agree. There are counterplays to camping, and to some extent, to tunneling. Unfortunately, tunneling is disproportionately efficient and powerful against casual players who can't loop well and don't want to dedicate half their build to anti-tunneling, AND against teams that are not on comms. Without coordination, people are going to flail around not being quite as efficient as tunneling requires to be countered. So considering full SWFs are so rare (in most mmr brackets at least), it remains an overpowered strategy (in my opinion).

As for compliments or being positive towards the killer in postgame chat, I actually think quite a lot of people leave at least a gg when they feel like the match was fair. I compliment killers pretty often when I feel like they had anything remarkable, whether that be good map pressure, great mindgames or use of their power (99'd stalks, precise whips on Nemesis or shock therapy on Doctor...), etc.

Whether I survived or died does not matter, it's mostly if I had fun or if I found the game interesting. If I got tunneled, you better bet I did not have fun, so I'm not going to shower the killer in compliments (I just won't engage).

When I play killer, I actually have very positive endgame chats pretty often (besides the quite impersonal 'ggs'), though often after I myself said a few words. Once they realize I'm not "gg ez"-ing them, the survivors are usually pretty open to discussing the game or joking around in chat. =)

  • I'll preface this by saying I really don't see BM'ing survivors very often, so they're a bit of an oddity in my games.

Most times, I answer by being playful. If they teabag after stunning me, I'll headbang with them. That way, they're not laughing at me, we're laughing together. It's dumb, but it makes me feel better. And most times, it actually works. I don't know if it's because they realize I'm chill, or if it's because it's not enjoyable if it does not visibly bother me, but they almost always stop trying to tilt me.

The rare times it does not work, then I'll just ignore it for the rest of the game =)

  • Not at all because of recent developments of the series, since I've never really watched the show past the second season (I do know who he is because I like reading lore more than watching multiple episodes, for some reason).

I just like the idea of an unapologetically bad/morally grey person being a survivor. :D

  • They destroyed Devour Hope and Rancor, which I don't really care about the latter but the former is dear to my heart.

I don't like the idea that a quick all slug would end the game so fast. If they wanted to see more Moris, they could just make the yellow Mori basekit. I'm not crazy about unlimited Unbreakables either.

  • None of them, I don't like characters having voice lines :/

  • I'm usually playing as Lost Mascot Julie or default Frank, but I also really like the Never Stop Slashing Frank outfit, which I unfortunately don't own. :D

  • I play on fullscreen on PC, and while I do have problems of DBD taking my mouse hostage when I want to use my NVIDIA overlay (to record a game for example), I usually don't have a problem with alt + tab.

  • Genuinely confused : are survivors supposed to wait for a last hit before accepting hatch ? I have never done that before, if I'm given hatch I'm usually either dropped down on it (and wiggle on the ground for thanks and then take it), or if I wiggle out I usually crouch once in thanks and then take it fast. I just don't want to waste a nice killer's time any more than I have to ? Same as if a killer decides to let both me and another survivor go, I'm not going to look for totems or beg for pallet stuns, I'll open the gate and go as quickly as possible as to not importune the killer (unless they, of course, offer stuns, chests, or totems).

I have never expected a last hit from survivors I give hatch or gate to but it does make sense... Survivors I let go at the gate often wait a little bit and do the "follow me" emote, but I must be a bit dense because I always assumed it meant "let's get out together" and just headbutt the exit to pretend to leave as well... ... I really am the 5th survivor, aren't I ? xD

Those bots are going to play very different compared to good survivors especially when perks are involved and besides there’s always custom kyf and kill the bots as trapper in the getting started menu.

The bots play very differently than actual survivors, but it's sometimes good to train with a killer power you're not familiar with. You don't need an actual player to get used to Nemesis' tentacle hitbox, or to the delay between Doctor's electroshocks and the survivor getting incapacitated at loops.

These you can practice in a KYF, but there are things you might want to train in that can be extremely tedious for your friend. I was once the target of my friend practicing his Blight flicks for like 30min (not the chase... only flicks), because he couldn't get into a custom game alone, and believe me it was a snooze fest ! X)

  • I think having dancing emotes would really piss me off. I don't want to be camped by a dancing Clown or having survivors dance at the gate.

On one hand I'd love some more mediums of communication in the game, since I love being friendly, but I just know that if there were more they'd be used to tilt and BM, so in DbD's case the least amount of emotes, maybe the better.

  • Technically speaking, she is a video game character and therefore doesn't need anything.

That being said, I'd love a new Haddie outfit !

  • Only Overcharge usually.

My usual M1 builds are mostly Discordance, Sloppy, Overcharge and then a last perk depending on my mood or the killer I'm playing.

  • A SOMA-like game, following survivor(s) investigating clues about the Entity through the realms, and trying for a way out. It could deepen the lore of DbD, which would be nice.

  • Exactly. It is so frustrating losing 10% of the progress, aka 11 seconds, just because the game decided to be a little #########.

  • I agree ! By now I have a couple of builds ready within my character loadouts, but when I'm looking to try things out in customs or when I have to play any character that isn't my main, it takes so long sifting through every perk.

This is the best stealth outfit for sure ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

    Oh my god

    Perfection

  • Maybe ! But I love his original DbD look too much to change it up. <3

I'll probably buy the rift once I've collected his other cosmetics, for collection purposes, but I think I'll hardly ever switch it up =)

  • I personally wouldn't care to see my own rankings. I don't like competitive games and I feel like seeing my ranking would make me feel worse because I'd be comparing myself to my friends or random people, and I don't like that.

If there is ever a visible ranking, I'd like for it to have a private option so that you can choose whether others see your ranking or not, and an option to not see it at all yourself.

  • My friend's first reaction to seeing the cosmetics was sending me this.

    De funes villeret.jpg

  • In my experience in duos, there's mostly a chance you'll annoy solos. When my friend or I get hooked in the basement and see killer hanging around, you bet we're not telling the other to come unless it's safe.

Scroll wheel to tp to your traps, rusty shackles and dried cicada for add ons. Trap placement boils down to how much time you’ve invested in the game as far as familiarizing yourself with the maps. There’s really isint a bad map for hag..

Red Forest would beg to differ haha !

There might not be a bad map for very good Hag players, but it doesn't change the fact that having a set number of traps on maps of varying sizes makes the bigger maps technically harder. =)

Plus she's got plenty of counters that make her really challenging when you're against people who know how to play against her. When your opponents don't let you use your traps, she becomes worse than an M1 killer since she's very slow ^^'

Hey Hug ! To be honest, ever since the 6.1 update it's been more difficult for me overall for certain maps. It seems like I do great 9/10 matches on midwich, lerys, even meat plant but once I hit huge maps I struggle heavily.

I got corrupt but even when I don't use that perk they spawn people right on my 3 gen soon as the match starts lol so I uninstalled until bots come cause I wanna just have fun and learn new killers.

Alright ! Well, you'll be able to reinstall very soon. =)

I've actually tested out the bots on the PTB, but only with the new killer as of right now. They're not the brightest, but they're really nice to have and I bet their AI will receive some tweaks at some point !

When you'll play again, you might want to try out new RPD with Hag ! It's a surprisingly really good map for her when you put on a teleportation range addon. The map is not that big, and even though there's no grass, unless survivors waste time crouching around every single stairs and doorway, they're bound to stumble upon traps they haven't yet seen. =)

  • It's honestly a bit ridiculous. I do find it a bit funny, the concept itself of replicating other skins or even characters on her is very goofy (I second that equal-attention meme), and if the copied skin is itself very goofy like that new Cheryl skin, then it's ridiculous twice over.

I'd love for other characters to get some attention (I'd love another Haddie skin that's not a recolor or her masquerade outfit, but it seems she's not quite a popular pick !)

  • Hey, I remember you ! We both started out playing Hag roughly at the same time. How have your Hag games been ? Besides Cowshed of course =)

I finally got Corrupt Intervention from Plague recently and dear lords it helps, as much as I loathe using one-time perks =)

  • I empathize. Kate was one of the first survivors I bought, and to this day I'm still pretty much chained to Windows of Opportunity. The new pallets being more realistic and blending better into the map doesn't help either.

  • Or don't

    Sincerely,

    Blood Warden >:)

(I do get your point, I'm just joking around =) )

  • Oni will get his power every 30s and have a hitbox the size of Russia. Not really a fan of going against him, would much prefer hopping in lockers whenever he's in power.

  • I think it's possible but only if you kill all your survivors during the endgame collapse, since it gives bonus points for "late sacrifice" ?

  • In my opinion, DBD is at its best when everyone is playing chill and willing to just enjoy the game rather than try and sweat. I generally dislike competitive games very much and that's not a direction I would like DbD to go in even more than it already is.

That's why when playing killer I always make it obvious that I'm trying to be chill (headbanging after stuns, pausing to let risky unhooks happen, giving a headstart to a survivor if it's the same I hooked most recently), and I generally have very pleasant results. I don't care about losing if everyone is having a good time, and my survivors are generally pretty happy with me, which in turns makes me happy as well. =)

I do understand that it's not how everyone enjoys the game, and that's completely okay. But in the meantime, I'll enjoy the boops, parkour races, bartender roleplay and item giving. =)

  • I think it was fun :)

It was nice having a side objective of collecting energy and pouring it into the rifts, and I'm going to miss the 50k bp survivor games, haha.

It's not necessarily that they need changes, rather that even just acknowledgement they're happy with where the killer is is enough.

    Just weird it's radio silence.

I don't know, I haven't played for very long (I started playing around the Dredge release), but BHVR doesn't strike me as being very talkative about this kind of stuff.

I do hope they will share a bit of their thoughts on recent killers soon :)

  • I think they were pretty busy with the perk overhaul. Might be coming back to update/balance the recent killers if needed (Sadako needs it according to popular opinion (I don't play her so I wouldn't know), but I don't see a lot of people saying Artist should get anything) now that the big update is out ?

  • The fact that he's hot and the fact that his appearance is illogical with his lore can both be true at the same time.

It is still some pretty cool character design, just not what I would have imagined for a 1300s character.

That being said, it's not that bad in my opinion. I always thought the Evil Dead game mixing modern characters and knights was very goofy. I'm okay with not having Claudette, Dwight, Feng, and a Mr Armoured Knight in the same survivor lobby.

  • Better late than never I guess, but I'm relieved this is how it will work from now on rather than appearing one time and then lost forever.

    Seasonal cosmetics sound interesting :)

  • Congrats :)

I haven't even tried to mess around with those yet, haha. I'm already bad with the perks of my choosing, let alone without !

  • For some reason the Leon bots I run into are very cocky. Plenty of crouching mid chase and dodging attacks !

  • Survivor : I would probably have to take Windows, because I struggle to see pallets otherwise. But assuming I could see them, I'd probably take We'll Make It.

Killer : Probably Chili & Barbecue. I don't even play it regularly, it's not in any of my permanent builds, but if I only had one perk to take this seems like the one I could draw the most use from.

Just like Gen rushing VS Camping and Tunneling I guess

It's a vicious cycle that we all played a part in (Well most of us)

But then again is that all you got from my post?

No, that's just all I felt like commenting on. The rest I mostly agreed with actually =)

  • @RaSavage42 said:

Yes... recoding the game from scratch

Giving Killer more ways to slowdown the game... rather then just using certain perks and playstyles

Giving more incentive to getting all 4 Survivors to death hook

Stopping the gloating from Survivors at the exit gates... cause that has something to do with Killer's playing this way

I've almost done it a few times myself but was able to take a quick break and get over it

Bodyblocking also has something to do with it as well... Now I'm not saying everyone does it but it does get tiring for Killers whom don't Tunnel to then be bodyblocked into it (and then having the Survivors call Tunneling afterward)

Like what caused Killers to Tunnel in the first place... cause I remember a time when people said that Tunneling was "noobie"

I think it's a bit pointless arguing about where the BM on either side came from, or its link to tunneling. Sure, when survivors are being [silly little gremlins], killer will tunnel and that's completely understadable. But it also happens unprompted because it's a damn efficient strategy.

We're definitely looking at a "chicken or the egg" situation.

  • Bubbas are a real hit or miss for me. Half the time they camp, tragically often to high results.

The rest of the time, they're playing surprisingly fair. More than, say, most of the Deathslingers or Nemesis I encounter, haha.

  • All of these are excellent, but I'll forever be haunted by that Feng who has probably seen the pits of Hell and came back.

  • I don't think the "game will be dead soon" statement is accurate, but I do agree that this is not fun.

It's not always that bad, but it'd be hard for me to tell you that survivor is all fun and games right now, as I have myself switched to mainly play killer at the moment because of similar games.

  • Can't say I have noticed anything out of the ordinary.

Lunge distance is the same across all killers in my experience, but the visual weapon size difference might be throwing you off ? Oni is tall and with a large weapon, whereas Ghostface is short with a small knife. Them both covering the same distance might make it look like Ghostie has long lunges and Oni short ones.

  • Not a big fan of the new pallets and breakable walls. I sure won't take Windows off anytime soon now.

No I think we are looking at a situation how Legion should have worked?

There are so many ways Legion should have worked haha

In any case, I'm curious to see how it will unfold ! Hoping both killer and survivor have okay perks :)

  • Are we looking at another Legion situation ? Sounds fun !

  • I haven't had many DCs (though it was tempting at times) recently, only one this morning : teammate immediately DC'd upon hearing the killer was Spirit. It didn't help that said Spirit then decided the best plan of action in a pretty much already won 3v1 was to hit on hook and tunnel like an inebriated mole. To assert dominance over us beginner solos, no doubt. She eventually DC'd as well after 3 min of slugging the last two survivors alive and attentively following them as they crawled around.

Nothing like a good awful solo survivor game to make you want to go back to the more enjoyable role ! I got many boops in the following game. :)
