    Thanks 😍!

The nice thing about Artist is that most of her weapons are pitch black, just with different shapes. This means you have a lot of mixing and matching options because you don't have to worry about colours not matching. I haven't tried it yet, but the weapon from her Dominus rift cosmetic (which has a red tip) might also go well with loadout #2. A golden weapon would be awesome for #1.

Right now I have no specific charm setup for Miss Fuchi, she just 'borrowed' the charm setup already assigned to #3 (Inkwell, Pentimento, Winged Troublemaker). I was thinking about using the Fancy Crow charm from the current rift for her, but I am nowhere near that tier yet :D.

Before the candy weapon, I used the Lethal Creeper weapon for #3. And no, that is not my 'nice guy' fit 😂. I can and will 4K with it just as with any other combo.

Oh I bet that weapon would look perfect with loadout #2

  • Wooow those all look great 🤩

    1. Celebratory very nice
    2. My favorite one. The blood is great. 🩸
    3. This is for when you’re playing nice huh? Love it.

The theming on all of them is great. Plus I love the charms you’re using for the standard Artist.

I’m so curious, what charms are you using for Miss Fuchi?

This tome is on another level.

Adorned in lace, caressed by satin ribbons... Sensuality presents itself...

The threat of pain ever present, a tension of anguish emerges.. Is this the nightmare you've always dreamed about? 😯😳😱

I find my escape rate as a solo player way better than when I play with my friends because they are not that experienced as well as just simply not very good at the game and some of the randoms I've had have been way better than me

It’s the opposite for me. The game is definitely more difficult for solo q. I can tell because whenever I play with @solarjin1 I’m getting carried by him every time. I escape way more when we play together than when I play by myself.

I guess that makes me the inexperienced player… Hahaha

I want to make it clear what I'm asking here, so bear with me.

I see this notion pop up a lot, that there's no win condition for DBD so players have to come up with their own. I cannot understand this position, personally, because the win conditions are so obvious to me (with slight ambiguity that does exist) that I can't see how anyone could think the game doesn't have one.

I'm not here to argue whether or not what I see as the win condition is correct, though. I want to know why people think it's not clear. Is there something missing from the game that would define the win condition for you? If so, what is it? If not, what led you to your position about there not being a win condition?

I hope it's clear, I don't mean to shame or lambast anyone here. This is a post made very much in good faith to try and understand the opposing position in this discussion.

I think it may be easier to understand where “no clear win condition” comes from if we consider that:

    • Reading all available information is not a common practice.
    • Vast majority of PvP games are symmetrical in nature.

From that it would be easy to extrapolate that a player who plays Dbd may be likely to approach the game from a classical PvP point of view (eliminate everyone) while also being too inexperienced of a player to parse the nuance of the end game screen message of however the Entity is feeling.

That’s on the Killer side. The win conditions on the Survivor side also mess with traditional PvP concepts. Is the game a team deathmatch or a free for all? Both? Kind of? That alone is already enough to challenge preconceived gameplay paradigm structures.

My guess is that this is where some of the confusion comes from.

True, but the incentives should always correlate with queue times if they are working correctly. The longer queue should have no incentive while the shorter queue should have an incentive that scales with how big the killer:survivor ratio imbalance is. Ever since the last 2v8 event, nearly every single time I’ve played, there has been an incentive for the role with the longer queue time, which makes no sense.

The longer queue should have no incentive while the shorter queue should have an incentive that scales with how big the killer:survivor ratio imbalance is

The issue is that I don’t think the queues are a flat rate “this one has a deficit; this one has a surplus”.

I think that certain mmr ranges have bloat while others have demand. That may be why some people have different incentives on different roles in different amounts.

Some information about how family or friends reacted to the characters' disappearance or what happened afterwards (I really like the lore, okay?)

I second this, absolutely. Anything that adds more story and atmosphere.

  • I could be remembering it wrong but the devs mentioned that the bp bonus is different for everyone depending on things like mmr, region, etc.

I'm in disbelief we haven't gotten a chapter that includes a Spider killer. It's amalgam of horror intensified. How many power ideas can be cramped up in this killer? Let's see. Oh, it could build traps either cocoons that act as proximity mines which hatch spiderlings and attack survivors, a massive golden orb weaver web that is very sticky that hinders or immobilize survivors movement, or trap doors where the spider can surprise attack survivors. Pounce prey like a jumping spider, fly with its web, use ground blanket webs to move around super fast, spit acid that deteriorates ones health, inject venom to paralyze survivors, spiderlings as a army of spiders, spit web that immobilize prey or cover their eyes so its harder for survivors to see but they can rip it away.

It could climb objects or the spider can use stealth. The Spider could have so many roles. It could be a trapper, a chaser/hunter, stealth or a strategist. What I'm saying is that the spider has almost endless possibilities when it comes to abilities.

What surprises me the most is that the Dead by Daylight board game has a web with a insect stuck in it. We have multiple spider charms, a spider lore tome, Sable and Hag somewhat have spider like skins and perks that contain a spider such as Play With Your Food and Invocation: Weaving Spiders.

Think about how many original spider killer skins we could have not even counting licensed skins for the spider? It's crazy. Crazy good.

What about arachnophobia? Counter-argument; we got clown, doctor, plague's vomiting, blood, metal, etc. I have arachnophobia too, albeit in a mild form, but that doesn't mean this game shouldn't have a spider. It's a horror game and it deserves a spider as the killer. I love this game because it battles me against the fears that I have and make me more resistant to it.

Behaviour, please, let there be a spider killer in 2025.

Thank you for making this post 🙏

A spider Killer would be so so cool to have in Dbd. The sound of the legs going by as you’re hiding… the other sounds it would make… I imagine the face would be like half human half spider or something.

I’m working myself up too much thinking about how cool this would be lol.

  • For me it’s Nurse, Doctor, Oni, and Twins.

    Also Hag like many others.

Or more sinister. The Entity is a real thing that manifests itself through the game. By making people think about it it becomes real… and it feeds off of emotions, and we all know how emotional some people can get when playing this game… those who become addicted to the game are literally trapped by the Entity, doomed to hold M1 and get sacrificed for eternity… and make forum posts about tunneling.

I find it curious how it’s never the responsibility of the killer causing a person to let go on hook to ensure the survivors have fun. 🤔

I would say almost* never. It may be a negligible amount but there are some of us that really do approach the trial from a dungeon master pov.

  • @Ayodam said:

Oh Ayodam… Ayodam, Ayodam, Ayodam smh… If only you knew the horrible truth. It doesn’t go far enough!

All of us forum Killer mains are in the hallowed heights of the most elite mmr imaginable, always playing at the super secret 2nd soft-cap. What we want is for all Survivors except one to spawn on death hook while the one solo starts broken but marked by Killer instinct from the start. That way we can prove our pristine skill expression even further.

I always see people say "well I am high MMR" whenever they talk about balancing discussions and I really have to question how it is even important or relevant to anything.

Most people can agree that the MMR system isnt really the best, it has a lot of flaws/issues and rewards players for playing the most boring ways possible, often punishing players for taking risks or trying to go for high skilled plays. High MMR does not really feel like something to boast about, especially when it is basically an invisible number that you can only really guesstimate on anyways.

Furthermore, this concept of "I am high MMR" has lead to this elitism where anyone who is new or less experienced gets their opinions invalidated because they are not playing at a high level, despite the fact that new or less experienced players are a very important part of DBD's player ecosystem and hold just as much importance as the veterans or top % of players.

MMR's softcap to begin with is set really low where most veteran or top % of players are facing average (sometimes even below average) players consistently in their games, the matchmaking is so loose that it is the idea of Skill Based Matchmaking in DBD practically doesnt exist. This is mainly because of the focus on finding games fast instead of trying to have quality matchmaking.

Anyways… yea… MMR is a sham and Im tired of people bringing it up. This isnt aimed at a particular person, of course, this is just talking about a trend Ive seen in the DBD community for a long time and I really dislike it and wanted to talk about it.

Um excuse me. I’ll have you know that I am casual mmr. And things are… perfect over here. Carry on.

Love this. Simple perks, and sometimes gens fly, but nothing beats the moment when a survivor realizes the pallet dropping made no distance, or sometimes less distance than just taking the hit and booking it. Often gets called "scary" because of how ineffective pallets are, and I can just hit through windows. Also thematically works well with the "I'm too large to give a ######### about your pallets" Xenomorph queen.

Whats your favorite builds, either because you just like them, it's surprisingly effective, or it's just thematic with a character/cosmetic?

Wow great build. Fire Up is so fun, great choice 😄 Your build is definitely a demon build. I love that. Have you thought about incorporating Coup de Grâce with Fire Up?

Anyways great build/theme. I still can’t get over how menacing in size she is, or the fact that your build mimics the fear of being hunted by an apex predator. Wow haha so cool 😊

This is my favorite build atm.

    Fixated, Urban Evasion, Kindred, Open-Handed.

Fixated and Urban evasion make sneaking around feel so much better while Kindred and Open-Handed help with keeping tabs on the Killer.

I made this build maybe a couple of weeks ago? But by far it’s been my favorite out of all the sets I’ve put together. It gives me a feeling of elegance and grace when managing the ebb and flow of the trial if that makes any sense.

Wow! Thank you for all of your work on the game. Dbd truly is an oasis for horror lovers.

Do you still play the game?

What are some of your favorite playstyles? 😊

  • It was the Unknown and I got finisher mori’d 🤣 We almost finished the last gen! I did run the Killer for two gens at first though, that was nice.

  • Why yes actually. I just queued up and got lucky that I found a match right away. I do have a 25% Bp bonus. Map is Toba! Wish me luck! 😂

  • It was a good write-up. I respect that you focused on how to make winning feel better. I’d like to discuss the idea of making getting killed feel better.

In a game like Dbd, getting killed is part of the experience. But for some players it does seem like getting eliminated really bothers them. I’ve mentioned this concept to other forum users before but why not add a death token system?

Every time you die you get a “death token” or something. Ideally these death tokens would be used in some mini game to play in between rounds like food for a Dbd giga-pet. @hermitkermit Mentioned a mini pet Entity that you could feed between rounds.

This idea isn’t set in stone or anything. Death tokens could do anything. I just think that making dying an easier pill to swallow in game like this would go a very very long way.

I remember when MMR was first added how stressful my games of Killer were compared to Survivor since the matchmaking was a lot more precise with the MMR-ranges allowed within matchmaking.

Overtime, BHVR has tweaked the matchmaking by reducing the MMR soft-cap so high MMR players could find matches faster and tweaked the MMR matchmaking range to be wider to allow for more relaxing Killer games and to improve queue times.

As a result, as Killer, I rarely face teams that are competent, since matchmaking prioritizing speed over quality, and I win a majority of my Killer games (and have been for months).

Meanwhile, my Survivor games have been miserable since I get teammates who are very under-qualified compared to my skill level, the matchmaking is broad enough to where I feel like most my losses as Survivor are solely because of the matchmaking and RNG, and less because of my skill, since Im able to last minutes in chase while my teammates die in 10 seconds.

Furthermore, it doesnt help with the "go next" epidemic, where often games are lost before anything has really happen because a teammate decides to throw a tantrum and drop every pallet in the map and/or give up on their first hook.

Overall the matchmaking paired with many other factors has lead to SoloQ Survivor being absolutely miserable and I hope BHVR can look at making matchmaking just a tiny bit more precise so less of my games feel like one-sided stomps from the Killer and maybe my Killer games will end up being more challenging.

So when it comes to MMR I do believe that the better a player does, the more difficult matches get for that player.

When people play Killer and play as hard as they can go, they will eventually get Survivors that match their skill level. If Killers go for eight-hook games then Survivors will escape more but the Killer’s MMR should level out to where they don’t feel as pressed for time.

Similarly I have noticed this phenomenon on Survivor. When I play ultra stealthy trying to win by any means necessary including playing for hatch, I escape more but the proceeding matches get much more difficult.

Contrawise when I play to rescue every other Survivor no matter if I get sacrificed, I noticed my games also level out to a difficulty that suits my skill level where I can run the Killer for multiple gens at a time.

I see a lot of other players who express frustration with the MMR system. At least from my POV it does seem to be working. But again I do respect those experiences that are different than mine.

The killers I tend to have a frustrating time with is Spirit and Wraith. Due to their (well earned) reputation as hardcore tunnelers, even when you play them with a fun build and not super serious… there is a decent chance someone DCs just because you MIGHT do it.

Even games that don't see a insta DC, I've had instances where I've deliberately ignored a survivor who is injured off hook on 2 separate occasions, but they've kept running in high traffic areas or played for hotly contested gens (without healing), then when I finally down them, they DC like I was being an uber sweat… 🤨

Comes a point where it switches from being laid back and trying to make a game of it to "How many times have I got to teach you this lesson old man!?"…. So Spirit and Wraith tend to be difficult to get a real game of DBD going :/

"How many times have I got to teach you this lesson old man!?"….

With characters like Trickster in DBD, I don't see why so many would be against Darth Vader. I'm not really for or against his inclusion, but I'll never be a gatekeeper against such an iconic character with a massive legacy that has done plenty of horrific things to warrant an inclusion in a game like DBD. If a character that is so ruthless they kill children isn't good enough to be considered horrifying enough to add in then maybe I just don't get the communities mindset.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/9RR6N9BOY1XU/darth-vader.jpg

I'm a person that looks at Killers like Trickster and Skull Merchant and cringes, but would see Darth Vader as fine as his legacy speaks for itself.. Does anyone actually think Darth Vader fits LESS than Lara Croft or Nic Cage..? As I said I'm not for or against his inclusion, but I won't be a gatekeeper as many seem to enjoy. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

The only only only way Vader could work is if this incarnation of him is the most horrific version of him. Maybe a zombie version. To explain why this version of Vader is in the fog it could be that he was cut off from the force or something, which would explain his lack of force powers/getting stunned by a pallet in the trials.

Personally I think I agree most with @smurf. Overall I can’t recommend his inclusion. I don't doubt Bhvr could make him work but he has too much redemption qualities to him for him to be in the Fog.

    Also, Trickster is scary.

So I have a challenge to get 18 sabotages... I was thinking to myself trying to get 18 legit sabotages would take me days... so instead I figured I'd end up spamming it whenever possible...

Since this is probably a throw, I thought why not lean into it and make a build where the entire purpose is to sow confusion for the killer?

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/B5BADZUCDKJC/1945a4e0c6724-screenshoturl.jpg

    • Sabotuer obviously causes a notification whenever we break a hook.
    • Diversion let's us be creative with creating more noise notifications remotely.
    • Red Herring let's us mark a generator and pop a notification remotely.
    • Quick and Quiet let's us pop a gen quickly remotely, and then we can burst out of the locker shortly afterwards to make another noise notification.
    • Randomly fast vault every now and again to make another noise notification.

I figured this build was stupid, and we'd probably get tunneled for being a pain in the butt, so I'd get completely smoked... but in a weird way it actually helps cover bad skillchecks, and strangely all the other random notifications actually makes Red Herring not suck... If you ever miss a skillcheck cause you're a scrub (like me) it just adds to the Chaos and doesn't matter, the killers ignore it...

I've made multiple killers DC in just a few games thus far... I'm just screwing around for my challenge... am I a bad person? 😭

The only toxicity present is the lead poisoning you will be receiving from touching too many nasty hooks.

Oh…. I get it. You want to poison your blood to poison the Killer and Entity… Okay this is meta. 😂
