  • 🎉🎉🎉Congrats!!!🎉 🎉🎉 🥳🥳🥳

  • It’s been like a month since I’ve seen an Oni. Maybe even longer.

Agreed. A survivor should only be leaving a trial with this emblem if the game went fairly poorly for the killer. If several survivors reach two hook states, it's time to go take chase. The iri survival emblem seems kind of counter to the need for teamwork except in matches where the killer gets very few hooks. Not sure yet what I think would be a better condition for it, but I agree.

Seriously! It creates this weird tension where the game rewards the player for sharing no hook states yet sharing hook states is obviously the best way to help the team. It might be intentional to create a choice between selfish vs altruistic behavior. If altruistic behavior is the most efficient choice then selfish gameplay needs its own type of “reward” (iri emblem) for it to be a viable choice.

I’m not really sure how much of the game still relies on the interplay between teamwork vs selfish gameplay.

On one hand I obviously believe in teamwork all the way. On the other hand however the fact that a player can be selfish and be rewarded in some way does lend itself to a horror atmosphere. But again I feel that in the current state of the game it doesn’t feel scary when teammates choose themselves over others, I imagine it’s just now very annoying to players.

Maybe that’s the point? Who knows. I’m going in circles but you get the point.

Grab your Quinques fellow investigators, it's gonna be a long night in the ward.

Ghouls are a menace who prey on the unwary, so by the time you realize you're about to be eaten, it may be too late. So prevention is a citizens best weapon. I figured I'd lead the investigation and construct a war room to help tackle this menace to public safety.

I have been having some luck so far with information; the unseen Ghoul is the deadliest. I feel Ghouls work best against unsuspecting prey who are not positioned properly on a loop, ideally in a dead zone. Dead zones are no help against this killer, so if you're injured you just die. So I've been taking my chances with Object of Obsession.

Hear me out; if a Ghouls has Lethal, I can call it out. If they have BBQ, I can call it out. Thr ghoul moves so fast that they are hard to keep track of,but being able to orient yourself at all does wonders, plus bring able to have 1 extra second to brace yourself.

My subordinate investigator doesn't like the Object style Quinque, but opts for Alert instead and even that is helping him out a bit. We've also been rocking the scene partner+ Troubleshooter builds to some success to help maintain aggro for the suppression units to complete the Generators.

    Whats been your strategy?

My strategy? RUN! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! THERE’S A GHOUL ON THE LOOSE!!!

Zigzagging and erratic patterns seem to work well against this Ghoul. Dodging the Ghoul feels almost like a mix between Blight and Nurse.

  • Yes 100% He’s already purchased. Kaneki is soo cool. The fact that we have another cannibal in the roster is chilling. He feels vicious and gruesome with high intensity. He is a perfect addition to the game.

He wipes his mouth after getting a hit!!! 😱😱😱

Edit: Also, I’ve never really watched Tokyo Ghoul. Experiencing Kaneki for the first time in Dbd is a very intense experience; I LOVE it. I can’t wait to watch the show now 🤩🤩🤩

And the Tokyo Ghoul lobby is perfect.

so like starting bottom right angle vertical, move to mid axis right, then move to y mid angle down for a nice face and mid pov, then move to left xy over shoulder to finish back at starting point. Am I making sense to an quadratic equation modelers?

oooh I see! Oh wow that’s actually a great idea! 😄 Amazing

  • @Dadeordye said:

That when the killer perform certain actions like hooking, damaging gens, breaking pallets, etc the game would shift to 3rd person briefly/during this action (much like entering snowmen in the Winter evts)? This way we could enjoy more the skins we buy for them and it would feel less that we are playing as floating limbs.

Of course this option would be toggleable in Options so people that have motion sickness or simply don't like this idea wouldn't be forced to use it.😁

I like the idea but I think even the limited FOV during these actions is intentional. There’s been many times a Killer missed me hiding next to the gen because it blocks their line of sight in a specific way. I think having it 3rd person would maybe mess with that a little.

But I think understand the spirit of your suggestion; having more ways to appreciate Killer skins as the Killer.

Definitely. Though it could have been fair if the survivor players could hold down a key to look back while running. Similar to how it works in survival games like Rust, or in BR's like PUBG, where you can hold down the ALT key to look over your shoulder while running forward. That way, you had the option to gauge how close the killer was.

But yes, first-person survivor mode would be incredibly scary to play, and I am sure I would have loved it

Deceivers sounds like Among Us, but in DBD. That would have been a very cool mode.
An impostor survivor that could do anything the others do, but also have the ability to kill another.

Swapped perspective also sounds like a ton of fun. It would really bring the horror back to DBD, if you could play Survivor in first-person, not knowing exactly when the killer was on your back. Though, if Chucky got a swapped perspective too, wouldn't he also be in first-person as well :D

Luck of the Draw sounds like an improved iteration of Chaos Shuffle, since items/add-ons are also randomized.

Hide and Seek has been a highly wanted mode in the DBD community.

Giants is essentially what became "My Little Oni". - but what if we got a role reversal, where the survivors became huge, and the killers tiny :D

5v5 mode sounds like fun. What if the killer on team 1 had to prevent the survivors on team 2 to complete the generators, and vice versa. Using the 2v8 maps as a base for the mode, the first team to get 5 generators done would win, or if one team's killer gets all of the other team's survivors before that.

Swapped Perspective is the one that I want so bad! It would be so scary on Survivor 😨

Is there any characters you would like to see from American Horror Story added to DBD?

    I want Elsa Mars

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/HKN5NKKPZAFL/image.jpeg

Oh so cool!!! Yes I would love to see these characters from AHS:

Twisty the Clown seems like a no-brainer.

    IMG_1011.jpeg

The latex man and woman could maybe be Legion skins.

    IMG_1012.jpeg IMG_1013.jpeg

And of course Papa Legba. 🤩

    IMG_1017.png

I would just melt if Bhvr could work something out with Ryan Murphy and FX to at least bring a cosmetic pack to the game. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, Dbd is a juggernaut in the world of horror and AHS absolutely deserves to be a part of it.

I like that devs are showing us previews of reworks instead of it just hitting the ptb so we can help make adjustments and provide feedback prior to ptb before it releases.

This saves them time and resources, it saves us time and frustration. It also helps paint the picture for a better experience for everyone so we can get a character to play that is fitting for the Dbd experience.

This will really help with reworks in general and turn the tides of past reputation. I am proud of bhvr for introducing this.

I hope to see adjustments like this down the road for Sadako with her video tapes. They are simply just not risky at all when they should be. I would love to explore options or at the very least go back to passive condemn. (We’d have to make current changes with design but I am okay with that)

It would make her a lot more fun to play as. (Coming from a sadako main. As she stands right now, she’s too rinse and repeat. It’s become dry.)

    Thank you.

Yes I have to agree. The devs continue to outdo themselves. It’s been so nice 😊

There’s so much feedback I need to give from past events. Like how awesome was it that the Garden of Joy house was Christmas decorated during the event? The fireplace decorations were great lol

Plus they’ve been killing it with the descriptions. It’s a very very good time to be a Dbd fan.

  • first main: Meg and Nea

    current main: Kate/Rebecca, Plague

    fav map: Garden of Joy

    fav perk: Kindred

fav item: Rainbow Map with the addon that lets everyone see the auras

    fav chapter: Castlevania

how many p100s?: None… Almost about to P3 everyone though! All I have left is two more prestige levels for Taurie! Then the p100 grind can begin 💀

    Hours~2000

  • My favorite thing about this whole rework is how much more simplified her power will be. The consequences of her whole kit never felt intuitive to me on the Survivor side. I’m glad her power will be more obviously self explanatory.

  • I like the Rulebreaker’s idea. It’s very good. Also I like the concept of a spaceship in space too!

  • Woooow A++++++

I love the theme and power so much. Anything with ice is so cool. Especially the idea of Survivors warming each other up. And the look of the Killer??? Genius. There’s so much that can be done with this concept.

This is a great idea for a Killer! Fantastic job 😃 11/10

  • I have a theory that Killer difficulties were placements along the mmr bracket. So Trapper and Legion were categorized as “beginner” which leads me to believe they were mostly for lower mmr. Higher mmr Survivors might have faced less of the “beginner” Killers. I think Plague was categorized as “hard” because the power is so easy to get value from that the player ends up playing against “hard” Survivors.

I’m not willing to die on this hill or anything but it is a suspicion on how I think the difficulty system used to work.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

Fix the matchmaking so people can actually play with people their level.

Killer difficulties may need to make a come-back.

  • Always Trapper lol. Do I place all traps or chase the first Survivor I see? Knowing full well that getting Trapper into chase asap is one of the best ways of dealing with him.

  • @alvinofelix said:

Just like title said, as survivor it all just reskin, but i genuinely want to know of what make you main certain survivor?

As for me, i main jake, the reason are quite simple, i play during like myers come to dbd, so 2016? 2015? And i play and main him because he is the only asian charater, since i live in Asian, and that the only reason i main him, for right now? I still main him, and because his lore/description match my personality, like like be alone.

Definitely if I can relate to the character.

  • Okay everyone. This tells me that we’re all begging for a Bioshock chapter at this point.

  • @ScissorKid02 said:

I typically play killer just for the fun of it, not to be sweaty. What do y'all enjoy messing around with?

Fire up, Batteries Included, Iron Grasp, Agitation.

This is my “Waltz with a Survivor”/Basement Build. If I don’t want to play super hard I will just carry Survivors around until they wiggle free then go for someone else. I’ll still play ruthless, I just wont hook or leave anyone slugged.

Except… If I can get them to the basement then I dance around the hooks threatening to hook them until I finally leave them in the corner of the basement to crawl out on their own. I leave them alone and go terrorize other Survivors after.

I like to give Survivors a chance at redemption.

  • Nemesis Vaccines- I have a needle phobia. I think an update may have toned down the sound but the little syringe sound makes me woozy. Even typing it right now I feel a little heavy in the chest and my heart is beating a little stronger.

I usually just deal with it or close my eyes or try and distract myself from the sound as I use the syringe 😂

If my heartrate tops 110 or if I laugh/smile at all in the match.

anyways servers can’t get too hot and it’s starting to get hot in Europe this time of year, and idk about the rest of Europe but England specifically doesn’t have central heat and air , so so a mass server station in probably a warehouse that functions for something like gaming companies will probably be down more often than not for maintenance, so you’ll get put on NA servers, if they are moving you, if you’re not vpning in more. Because unfortunately servers have a weakness and it’s heat. So they have two options they can blow their whole system(nobody in their right mind would do that) or shut it off so it can cool down. It’s not because it’s bad equipment, it’s because it’s hot. So anyways yeah just another thing I know.

Wooow 🤩 You’re going to have to DM me to tell me more. I’m so intrigued. I love this so much.

not that weird, it’s actually a standard practice, I work in communications and internal tests and maintenance are perfectly normal that shut down everything mostly for facility reasons, they call them generator tests, and well no power means no servers when testing generators to make sure back ups work, everything goes out.I don’t work specifically in that area, I’m in data, but yeah I work with a very large variety of people in cyber, and naturally learn things here and there outside your expertise, and the amount of specialists will shock you. Also yep mostly wiring maintenance for servers so you can enjoy your games, you just gotta suffer a tiny bit sometimes so the entire system doesn’t go to poo. When it’s down longer it’s usually because system replacements and set up times. So power testing plus server maintenance/up keep.

Learning is something I love to do. Your write-up was nice. Thank you for keeping our games on ☺️

Simple said you dont use shift (the running-button) for a time while the killer sees you and bc of that the chase ends. That means windows dont block and the killer loses bloodlust.

Important: its about the button not the running. So if you stand still and press shift, a chase starts.

So how to you use it? Not running would make it easy for the killer to catch up. Thats why you use it on loops with long walls (like Shack). Jump through the window, walk around the corner and when your out of sight, start running.

Extra-tip: you need to hold shift for a fast vault, but you can stop holding it while in the vault animation. With that the no-shift-time gets extended.

I can’t believe the intricacies of this game.

The reason is that you lose chase/or have no chase. If the chase stops the window will never block.

That happens because you dont see the survivor running for a time/ dont see him at all. Its similar to the shift tech if you want to know more.

Oooooh how interesting. Thank you for clearing that up.

    What is shift tech?

  • @Caiman said:

If you are at a loop with a vault, you can exploit bots easily. They will always vault if you're approaching them, so if you can quickly switch to the other side of the wall, they will vault back, and it will be a slower medium-vault. Do this three times and the vault will block and you can immediately hit them.

I thought this too but I’ve had it where some bots go back and forth and the window never gets blocked for some reason.

As cool as Bhvr’s version of him would be, the image of Vader being stunned by a pallet doesn’t feel in place.

However, maybe a zombie Vader when stunned could instead have an animation where he catches it and dodges or somethhing. It would still be the “pallet stun” but it would have a different animation that fits someone of his power and reputation.

I want to say Thank You so much for your work on DbD and it’s really sad to see you go. You have also been a delight on the live streams as far as i remember and we are losing another great dev and person on the game now.

Wishing the best of luck on their upcoming adventures!

Oh no! I remember her from the streams. I love everything the team creates. It’s sad to see someone go from a team whose work you thoroughly enjoy.

Totem spawns are way obvious and it needs a change of scenery. Also Survivors spawn right next to totems and it gets cleansed too early in the match. The issue is you don’t get any value out of any of it because the match just started. I feel like ruin needs change and a little of a buff. They should make it where it doesn’t activate until at least 30 percent of gen progress starting at 5 gens at least. And they should change the spawn locations more often. Survivors should not memorize every totem spawns like that and that needs to change immediately.

I was using Ruin last night with Haunted Ground. The Ruin was too tempting to leave alone so most games Survivors would accidentally cleanse a Haunted Ground totem (2/3 totem chance).

What if as a basekit option one totem starts as a basekit lit “hex totem” that does damage or a debuff or something when cleansed? That way a perk slot doesn’t have to be used on Haunted Ground.

  • That was fun 😄

Unforseen and Hysteria are so mean together. Sloppy Butcher with Insidious is a combo I never would have tried. Thank you for the recommendation 😊

    Coffee Grounds, Fastening Tools

I like going fast and stay unpredictable. Sometimes it fails horribly but when it works it's really satisfying.

I got to this too late but maybe you’re lurking. Thank you for the build. I’m seeing variations on creating Trapper to be some kind of juggernaut.

I’ll give it a try, thank you 🙏

Is it the build that @TotemsCleanser mentioned? I won’t lie, it will be one of the first ones I use lol

Also, thank you for the basic build, I’m always open to trying new playstyles 😄

  • @TotemsCleanser said:

Demi's impossible totem build! You can watch his video on YT for more insight on how the build works, but essentially: Hex: Face the Darkness, Hex: Thrill of the Hunt, Hex: Pentimento and Hex: Plaything. Iridescent Stone is pretty much a must, and you can add Secondary Coil. You place the traps in front of the totems and they can never get to cleanse them because they will scream due to Face the Darkness (you have to make sure that it's always active), interrupting them before they can cleanse them due to how long it takes to do so with Thrill of the Hunt in the background. The traps set themselves open so that you don't need to manually reset them each time and because if they do so when a survivor is doing a totem they can even catch them when they scream. Not to mention that they give you some extra time to get to the totem yourself and catch the survivor. Pentimento is there for extra spice in case they decide to go for dull totems to tone down Thrill.

But you should watch the video because Demi explains it a lot better than I and it's been a while since I watched the video so I might be forgetting some stuff lol.

Oh my this is another evil build. This may be a little bit too evil even for me…

… Okay I’m over it. 🤣 Can’t wait to watch the video and try out the build. Thank you so much for sharing this with everyone 🙏😊

I honestly feel so depressed this game used to bring me joy now it's just miserable.. after being slugged so many times it gets super annoying now it's so easy to want to get your challenge then take yourself out on hook and in my opinion it's just as awful being found so quickly

Also just had a bright use lethal pursuer took away my only token (distortion) then hooked someone and immediately came directly to my locker with BBQ at 5 gens I would love it if distortion started with 2 instead of 1 it makes no sense since it can be very quickly taken away with lethal pursuer

Old Distortion was nice in some ways because it let you see if Killers were cheating and still “finding” you despite having stacks and hiding in an out of the way spot.

Like, not every Killer who finds Survivors cheat (obviously) but Distortion made it more obvious to tell who was and wasn’t using cheats.

I play mainly on PS5 (occasionally on PC), and after lots of salty messages I set my messaging to friends only. Now at least a couple times a week someone from a match I just played will send me a friend request, ostensibly so they can message me. Experience tells me one of the three things is the case:

    1. They have some beef and desperately need me to hear how I wronged them (somehow) or how bad I am at DBD
    2. They really want to say GG
    3. They want to have a wholesome exchange or be my friend

Now #2 or #3 would be nice, but my strong feeling is that 90% of the time it's #1. Again, experience. And you are probably feeling something if you're going to go through the trouble of a friend request just so you can send a message.

And I ignore them all. And sometimes I feel bad because maybe that person was just looking for a friendly connection. But it really is just better that way, if for my own mental health, if nothing else (so if any other PS players here send me a request, don't take it personally if I don't accept, lol).

It is the reality of things isn’t it? It’s too bad really. I’ve gotten some of those “friend requests” too so I get it.
