  • If you don't play both roles you're only playing half the game you paid for. With about half a decade of experience I can promise you I'm still terrible at both roles, so just have fun with it.

  • If you look at a lot of the models they have the rough skin texture too. I know Feng does for absolute certain but I wonder if it's just a design choice since it adds more detail when seen from afar? I dunno I'm not a graphics designer.

  • This is why people run Corrupt/Ruin/x Gen defense perk. Unless they changed it you get points for how many generators stay up for x amount of time which means if you had a rough early game the generator emblem is always going to be low even if you shred the survivors.

  • So we had 1 person slugged, 1 person hooked and 1 person getting chased by the slasher, right? It's up to me to save the day.

Lights flicker and my monitor turns off, but I can still hear the game and I'm still in it. I can't hear very well and my character was injured.

Through sheer map memory (it helps it was a corn map, but not the one that's just a shack in the middle of miles of corn) I unhooked a survivor and picked up the slugged survivor. Fortunately the lights came back on 30 seconds later. We escaped.

  • It's hard to hear the Artist coming. She's just...there. Why is she there? She just is. You're now in the injured state.

  • I know they look like flying axes but they're actually large beach balls and Huntress is a lifeguard from Baywatch. You might read this and be like 'wut' but it's true. Imagine a beach ball every time you see those hatchets.

  • I'm a real fan of Mime Time with the black event dress in the body slot. Considering I'm usually a huge derp when I play anyway Feng just...fits my style.

I will click the flashlight into the sky while crouching on a hill while you watch. I will subsequently fall off that hill once I get your attention and Feng will squeak. Hopefully I don't go down in 20 seconds. It is the way of things.

  • You'd like Tombstone Myers.

  • I like (but don't see often unless I use it) Soul Guard, Desperate Measures, and Wake Up because I can never remember where the exit doors are. Visionary too because I can never remember where the generators are. I'd say Windows but you see that occasionally. I can't be bothered to memorize the locations of things.

Killer side I'll just randomly use perks like Furtive Chase and Nemesis with Rancor. I'm much more willing to try new things on my Trapper.

  • Did you know if another survivor is healing you and you pan your camera down as far as it can go you can get right behind the survivor healing you?

Don't worry you don't need to look out for the killer. Waste of time.

  • Trash talk and taunting used to be a real life thing, something to intentionally throw you off your game by tilting you. "There's no crying in baseball", etc.

Bullying a player is something I'd consider toxic, but a lot of people get upset when being taunted and don't want to play after it happens so from a business standpoint I get why that would be unappealing. I'd still like survivors/killers to get flavor emotes that go beyond "oh no he crouched at me". Imagine running to the exit gate to shoo a survivor out of the trial and he'd just standing there shooting you the bird.

  • Your MMR drops on escape/kill and raises when you die/have escapes.

    April Fools.

  • I used to think 3 genning was a big deal and tried to force it when I was playing killer. If 4 survivors are still alive you've lost those generators. You may keep them off for like 2 or 3 minutes but they'll start getting turbo aggressive.

Now if it's 2 survivors or something yeah. They're toast.

  • I cleanse and if she has Corrupt Purge and I'm in her terror radius I hide by a pallet and drop it on her before she realizes I'm there. It knocks her out of her power and helps the player playing the Plague empty their bowels from the jumpscare.

    It's pretty smooth.

  • I see her 10% of the time maybe? She definitely has more of a presence than killers like Hag, Clown and Twins but it's not an every match thing. I enjoy seeing her, but you have to take the match seriously if she's the one chasing you down.

  • Blight is meta and it counters his long cooldown rush. It used to just annoy Nurse because if she blinked twice you knew to Dead Hard as soon as you saw her red stain on you. Enough time has passed that it has been forgotten. If it was just a problem for the M1 killers you'd see Relentless in play more but I don't think it's the M1 Killers. It's the meta that's causin' mads.

  • There's still a challenge in the third time that requires you to open a closed hatch with a key twice. Currently that gives you a hidden achievement due to how difficult it is.

    I'm salty.

I mean what is the killer suppose to do? Just M1 the survivor and prolong chase? I dont think people are going to get mad over a killer using their power effectively (then again, this is the DbD community, Im probably wrong).

Leatherface is doing what he's supposed to do, there's nothing wrong with him. That's just also why they don't like him. A lot of survivors build around 'Dead Hard when injured, speed boost when injured to get to the next loop' etc Sprint Burst/hiding isn't Meta and a lot of generators are in dead zones or only have ~1 or two vaults so if the pallet is gone then Bubba is going to be right behind you.

So you're down and now your team has to rescue you. Can't use your exhaustion perk, can't borrowed time hook bomb etc. Backrevving.

I would say that Leatherface works against the current meta so a lot of survivors are annoyed by him. The current meta is built for Blights and Nurses. Not chainsaw killers.

  • People didn't like backrev Hillbilly. Leatherface gets up on your back and backrevs you. Same thing different chainsaw.

  • I used to make so many friends in that chat box. This puts a smile on my face.

  • I don't see how they have fun to be honest. I am playing top rated killer with same perks everyone else uses. I am using add ons that allow me victory. My Blight is indistinguishable from an NPC played Blight. We are all the same. Fear us. You will take the orange needle.

Born to follow. Results achieved. Scanning for next meta build I must follow.

(It's kinda sad because a lot of love went into the Blight and he was teased forever and ever by the devs. Shake it up a bit.)

  • Good luck champ. I don't think I ever interacted directly with her but I know she was fond of the community. Hope the best for her and all that jazz.

I'll raise my Dr. Pepper to her. Here is to finding what you're searching for in life.

  • Let me make MMR real simple for everyone.

Devs: Let's move away from the original pip system based on points. Introducing the killer cube! The killer must now get 2 kills and a hook to pip! Wait. Nobody likes this. Let's move away from it. Introducing Emblems!

    *Time passes*

New Devs: Let's move away from the Emblem system and ranks. Introducing MMR! The killer must now get 2 kills and a hook to pip! Wait. Nobody likes this. Let's move away from it. Introducing -whatever comes next-

That's all there is to it.

  • When Pinhead hooks someone and says 'I must be going now.' This confuses the killer main.

  • Marinate the Onryo.

I run Merciless/Ruin/Rancor/Monitor and Abuse. Works well.

...if it doesn't I'll just demanifest and hang out with the obsession while you guys work on the final generator. We're best friends now.

  • Nah if you're about to drop to second/third hookstate I'll dive bomb your hook. Hope you have DS champ because I'm not running Borrowed and I LOVE THE TASTE OF DIRT.

  • On tome 1 part 4 there's a challenge where you have to finish 4 generators with the perk 'Dark Sense' equipped.

Select that challenge and you'll get matched with nothing but gen jockeys that love generators more than life itself. You're welcome.

  • Fun. If you really like the teachables one has or an aesthetic then that's your motivation. Otherwise, just fun.

One thing I like about this game is you can play base game characters/perks and that's all you need to have a full experience. Everything else is just flavor.

True but.... the invisible hitboxes T_T.

Dead hard for killers... wait isn't that Coup the Grace ? I mean yeah, you can only use it 5 times and with a basic attack... eh, idk man.

I'm thinking more along the lines of the blight serum killers got for Halloween that let them dash forward in place of their normal ability. Like that, except it takes a perk slot and can be activated and used on a cooldown...for that pesky survivor that just barely keeps making it to a loop.

  • Yep.png

I do think a flying killer would be pretty cool, seeing a slasher come up from a hole in the game would really catch a lot of people off guard. Maybe some hoverin'.

I'd give her a Dead Hard for killers. Every 60 seconds you can dash forward at a survivor. How's that for a teachable?

Apparently, you didn't even read my suggested change... that's just awful. WTAF man.

Nah I agree with what you posted, I just got the funpost in my head and had to make it. I don't know why Demogorgon lets you reveal all survivors while you're traveling and Sadako gets such a short aura reading with a bunch of if/or. Just because you see a survivor doesn't mean you can catch them.

I know Sadako just came out but while I really enjoy her, I think she could definitely use something in chase. I'd even say the remote control could be used to manually turn on a TV. It's a remote control. You know?

  • *blows up the generator and hides in the nearby bushes*

  • The best thing about Trickster is that every time he hooks you he goes to his locker to reload. He'll say something and if you have subtitles it'll translate to English in a box of text.

So when you get hooked the third time and you're floating towards the sky you see a little text box pop up (from Trickster reloading his knives) and it'll say 'Alright!'.

I think I've laughed every time it has happened.

  • I was told there would be a bloodpoint code on the forums to use. I didn't find it but I yoinked it from someone else on the forums that was kind of enough to post it. I use noscript and it was fine but I only allowed the base forums. Probably just a lot of extra stuff going on.

  • The Blob consumes the very concept of tripping. The Blob CONSUMES ALL.

  • The Blob. It just eats everything. You'd just run it to the loop and it'd consume the loop. Wanna get hooked? Ate the hook.

Wanna escape? The Blob ate the campfire. Wanna do something about it?

    The Blob ate you.

a lot of survivor I go against is streaming and when I go watch them, they seem to be playing competitive like calling out where I'm at constantly, switching gen when I start to play around it,calling out which pallet is gone and what perk I have.

I play in japan so maybe its different from other server?

I started playing other killers but most match I lose ends with survivor doing 5gen in 6~7mins.

Asia definitely seems to have a different gaming culture to the west so I can't say I'm surprised. Perks I can let slide since you can kind of eyeball what perks a killer has if you have a trained eye and know what to look for/what is common, but calling out dead spaces? Wew. Giving out that info is one thing, but knowing the map enough to know what pallet is being called out and where to switch your route is some next level gaming (unless you have windows of opportunity, but then you wouldn't need the call out).

I think the upside is, if you know your position is being called out, then you can act accordingly. Plus they can make all the callouts in the world but if they're bad in chase then they can call out the location they're hooked at.

Now as far as generators going fast, well, it happens stateside too occasionally but there's a reason Corrupt Intervention is so popular. Survivors have been nerfed -a lot- but on a game that operates on fog of war, if you know where the gens spawn then that's half the battle...but if it's consistent then time to brush off those end game activated perks. Y'know?

  • You get put with the players that got out of the exit gates while their team ran the killer and died. Gotta sacrifice yourself and rejoin your fellow loopers.

As for killer, well. Just let the newbies go and equip your bloodpoint add ons. Enjoy a chill day.

  • That's supposed to tell you when Sadako is visible to survivors or not. Your add ons dictate the flickering.

I really thought for some reason this was going to be about the music that plays when Sadako is manifesting and it sounds like she's becoming a magical girl. Light magical sprinkles!

  • To a survivor it just looks like you're patrolling the map like a blind person, but if you play normally the glyph usually ends up bumping into you.

Could you imagine if a player could get in trouble for trying to do a game challenge though? Lol.

  • @bm33 said:

I don't think Call of the Brine is any worse for new players than some of the other tracking perks. Merciless Storm I think is closer to old Ruin - if old Ruin skill checks were considered too difficult for new players then Merciless Storm has to be terrible for them.

I use Merciless Storm and you'd be amazed how often those generators get blocked. If I grab a yellow glyph and throw one at a survivor it should count as a Mori.

  • Despite what the competitive players want to tell you, nobody plays this game competitively and if they do, you're not going to see them often. If you did there would be god nurses every match with 4 man SWF that run the meta and knock out all generators in under 5 minutes while hook camping would be done with ferocity.

Truth is, nobody cares. We like to meme. We like to play killers with weird builds. Most people play DbD like a game, and tryharding is fine for a while but...it's boring. It's like going over to a friends house to play Super Smash Bros and everyone's going final destination and everyone's playing Fox. Ew.

But yeah Nurse is the strongest and Blight/Spirit aren't too far behind...but wouldn't you rather play Nemesis and smack people with your tentacle whip? My matches say people like doing that.

  • Play against her like you would Wraith. Keep an eye on your character icon and watch for a bar to be added to your portrait. That is the only time the teleport is relevant to you. If you get a bar, she's a single woman in your area.

Just treat her like a 115% speed killer. That's all she is. If you really don't like her teleports you can deliver a tape but I rarely have to deal with filling up my bars unless it's a really long match. Then if you have 3 or 4, just grab a tape and deliver it. No big deal.

...if you're cheeky you can condemn yourself and I promise Sadako will drop everything to go after you. Just deliver the tape before she can get to ya.

Stealth killer main turned indoor map enjoyer here. Lery's is actually the best and most balanced map in the game.

The extreme RNG ensures looping is different every single time, unlike static tiles on most maps. The atmosphere is claustrophobic, and makes certain killer perks like Hex: Plaything terrifying to even the most seasoned survivors.

Totem spawns range between very difficult and easy, making totems a pretty viable option for the gambling killers.

It is one of the few bastions of horror left in the game for veterans.

    Sincerely - Tinkerer Bubba main

I do not need a revved up Leatherface coming around a corner while I'm on a gen with a massive blind spot. Please cease and desist at your earliest convenience.

I feel you on getting billy on indoor maps. I was doing the 20 meter chainsaw rift challenge on him and got the game on the first...game.

    K.

He's definitely a killer I wouldn't run your best add ons with without a map offering. Mobility is a mixed bag since you can't back rev on Billy anymore.

Unlike Tinkerer Leatherface. That's a backrub nobody needs.

So I was daydreaming about a cutesy smiling sun shining above the trial with flowery, lush meadows and a pretty gazebo and a beautiful crystal clear stream flowing over a beautiful bridge that you would see in a fairy tale. The ravens were replaced with doves and fluffy white clouds passed overhead.

When you entered the trial, instead of the dour sound, you were greeted with flute and butterflies flying from flower to flower.

Then there's the usual thoroughfare of hooks, L T walls, cow loops and the killer shack. If it wasn't for the killer tracking you down, this place would be idyllic.

Do you guys like that kind of stuff or am I just being weird(er) and silly?

    I still want it.

  • Wait what's wrong with being bald?

  • Trappermemery.png

I haven't seen a Hag in ages but I got a legion 3 days ago and 1 Slinger yesterday and one today. They're around. Haven't seen Trapper in a long time unless I'm playing him. I think I'm at that sweetspot where you can face either a god nurse or a memelord slasher that's just trying to finish a daily.

(Literally as soon as I pressed submit I ran into the Super Mario of Smash by Daylight, and we're doing memes. 10/10.)

  • I eat an apple every time before I sit down to play Dead by Daylight. Doctor is never coming back.

  • I just realized they took Adam's (Brown) 900 shard iri trenchcoat and turned it into a navy blue.

You nerfed my stealth trenchcoat how dare you. Unplayable 0/10.

Edit: In game it's still stealthy but in character select it looks off.
