When the 3rd survivor is still alive, get far enough away from the hook for the 4th survivor to attempt a rescue. They usually will. When you return to the hook catch the sneaky survivor. The 3rd survivor is usually much easier to catch and you can just snatch them back up after you get the 4th.
It's important to remember that survivors rarely know where the hatch is unless it has been a long match and they've had time to scout the map with some survivors dead, and that if they knew where the hatch was they'd exit the trial. If you're going to leave the hatch open, patrol around. Sometimes survivors get impatient and start leaving scratch marks everywhere in their search for the hatch. If you see scratchmarks and they're close, well, just go back and close the hatch and pursue them.

This. Make her shorter.

Flip Flop and Power Struggle are nasty together if you get a second to recover under a pallet. That's the best value, but to answer your question it's where the bar fills to "Get Help".
-
Last time I got face camped was by a Demogorgon a long time ago. I don't think it was provoked, it just happened.
Most of the time I get facecamped is by a Leatherface doing the meme, but that's not very common as Leatherface isn't common.
-
As the clicky clicky survivor that has been dropping CoH on Sadako like it's my job, I've found she's pretty good at snuffing totems and slapping survivors around. I don't remember what perks this Onryo had but I'm pretty sure they were standard gen regression.
-
How else are you supposed to get the Basement Time score event points? I've got this mental image of a zombie camping the top of the stairs and nobody wanting to get hit, but let's be honest, this is the next meta.
Killers stay out. The basement belongs to SURVIVORS.
-
Sounds about right. Survivors never have chill when you want them to.
Killers can be chill sometimes, but it's always a risk to see if they'll meme with you.
-
That's really cool. I knew this game had it in them to do different Mori animations than just stock.
I wonder why it's different though? Pulling out the tongue is a way to keep the dead from talking to the living. That's why Kazan pulls the tongue out, to stop people from calling him an Oni.
Japan is the one place where his Mori would be culturally understood and they changed it. It's good don't get me wrong, but it's something to ponder.
-
Tilt the slasher slightly to the left or right and keep an eye on her. She'll snap back to the default position before zooming towards you a few seconds later. If for some reason you can't move her, watch her face. She'll look up and her hair will part, revealing the left side of her face.
It surprises for the first time or so, but it's not that bad.
-
To be fair we've been killing survivors for years. We had to run out of them eventually.
-
This is probably the best way of looking at it, MMR wise.
-
Look at that award winning smile.

Our girl in white is the smallest killer I've ever seen that can turn off her red stain AND she's standard speed. That is a nasty combination. If she ever gets a dark colored cosmetic that helps her blend into her surroundings from a distance I weep for survivors. It'll be a merciless storm of tears.
try facing her store cosmetic on swamp or autohaven... she blends in so well
I've resisted all day...but with her store cosmetic I know every time I warp using a television I'd say "...and then a skeleton popped out."
The eye is such an important part of Sadako's motif though. I know the menu jumpscare has an empty eyesocket so I wonder how much that cosmetic actually changes things (ie menu jumpscare, Mori, mini mori etc). There's probably a lot going on under the hood for that one.
-
If you guys are idling and waiting for a match and you're on PC, hold left click to adjust your slasher so she's facing slightly to the left or right. When she goes into the jumpscare animation she's suddenly flick back to center screen for about two seconds before spookin' ya.

this?
The story, for me, is always the same:
Four survivors together on an almost repaired generator, too cocky to flee when the killer comes.
The generator on top of shack, with its four slots, is a deadly spot.
For the last one, it was single blink grab, a hit hit and they sandbagged each-others trying to flee, cartoon-style. The game was over in about 90 seconds, my personal record 😅.
Beautiful. Divine. Exquisite.

I remember how more often than not, the effect triggered by accident. With the survivor being barely inside the killers terror radius. Thus wasting the charge.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEP. It's an incredible, overpowered tool.

A rescue is not a slowdown if you get nothing out of it. Survivors will just rush to the hook in your face, spam M1 so you can't grab them and then after rescuing because of your amazing BT idea they can both get out at the speed of light. It would mean no survivor would stay hooked for 5 seconds since nobody is in danger. It would completly ruin perks like Make Your Choice, it would completly ruin killers like Trapper and Hag because there's no point in even stopping whoever is going for the save.
And don't pretend those two survivors won't rush to a gen and finish it. By ignoring the hooked survivor and the rescuer you're just left in the middle of the map with nothing to do because you have no idea where the other 2 survivors are.
Survivors are pretty predictable. It's just a matter of fishing them out of the L T walls and general map debris, but this will generally be where they're all at. Most of the time a survivor gets rescued I'm in a chase with that skittish boi that's off in the middle of nowhere thinking he's safe so I never return to the hook. It's when I can't find someone that I come back and harass them, but it's not a necessity.
Edit: You can just be like me and hook everyone at once. Then you don't have to worry about BT.

Huh? Applying pressure to two survivors, half the team, is having the survivors take free reign over the game? The funniest part is this game is so survivor sided that you aren't even wrong.
Lol, yep. I've had "that guy" throw me for a loop enough times. I know.

Uh the survivor rescuing doesn't have DS? Do you know how DS works?
What you're suggesting is that hook trades shouldn't exist anymore, that if someone unhooks they should be protected no matter how ######### their situation is. Survivors already have that garbage exploit in which they spam M1 in front of the hooked survivor so the killer can never grab and is forced to hit even if he doesn't want to, besides that you want the survivor doing the unhooking to be invulnerable so BOTH of them can escape? Why not give the entire team inmunity too?
If you're playing around the hooks that's a symptom of a bigger problem. You're not applying pressure to the map and the survivors already have free reign over your trial. If it's a serious team regardless of if you down one or both of the survivors for a hook trade I guarantee you're about to fall victim to a flashlight rescue. Survivors have tools that don't rely on perks and if they're playing to win they will use them.
I've played with old BT and I've lost kills to it when the exit gates were open. I get it, I feel ya. It doesn't feel good to lose a sacrifice that you would have had otherwise.
You want to encourage survivors sticking their neck out there though. They make mistakes. You want them coming for the rescue and being bold. Survivors can complete all gens in ~5 mins. A rescue is great slowdown tool, but it only really matters if you're applying pressure to the rest of the map.

So killers can't do anything about it but watch as he gets tbagged?
It's really no different from the hooked survivor having decisive strike. The real purpose for BT (for me) is to preserve your Altruism emblem so the hooked survivor doesn't get smacked down immediately so you get the safe hook rescue score event.
I've had survivors fuss at me for not pulling them off the hook when I know they'd just be farmed, so at least with this BT change built in I'd have more reason to pull them down.
-
@Tsulan said:

But only once, right? Like the old BT, which had only one charge.
Yes sir. That's enough to change the match on its own. I get why they changed it just effect the rescued person but if they're going to change BT then I don't see why reverting it to the old way would be an issue. I remember shrugging off a Hillbilly chainsaw with old BT and was quite thankful for it.
-
I'd bring back BT giving endurance to the rescuing survivor. That can turn a trade into an escape.
-
I'll never understand why killers are routinely close enough to the hook to trigger BT. It's a waste of time to circle the hook unless you're chasing a survivor. If you catch a survivor running in on the approach you injure them as they get to the hooked survivor and then down them after they rescue.
The real prize is being off and doing your own thing, seeing that the hooked survivor has been rescued and returning to the hook before they can fully heal. That can be devastating.
-
PC. I'm one of the older DbD players. I don't own a console that came out after the Wii.
I remember scoffing when DbD came out on consoles and I was like 'Why?' but hey people seem to enjoy playing it on consoles so okay.
-
It used to work better a few years ago, but now most killers are trained to go across to the other side of the map since survivors spawn as far away from you as possible.
What this means is that Vigos puts you where you'd normally be anyway and the killer is going to beeline across the map like he normally does. Oddly enough what I've found works best is going to the center of the map to avoid the killer since most of the time they'll be searching the corners.
-
The cart is gone? This...this is a sad day.
PRAISE SKY BILLY
-
I got a Trickster in the survivor outfit on a corn map yesterday and this topic gives me mixed feelings.
The shack is only 20 feet away. Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow.
-
Every time I see one of those fun facts on the side bar I'm like 'I could flashlight save someone at the bottom of the sea, bring it. Don't challenge me.'
What if I have infinite water breathing and could handle the pressure? What if the map had a built in flashlight? Ya never know.
-
I loved the old dark maps and accompanying offerings. I think killers couldn't find immersed survivors. It was traumatizing. Ha.

I wasn't tormented at all. I prefer stealth play and I'd be the first to admit that I'm bad at this game so I am going to naturally avoid the killer if I could.
The only thing that annoyed me was how everyone was acting like I did nothing when I rescued, healed and did multiple gens. I normally take hits or aggro for others but every time you downed someone you were across the map.
Edit*
I will say that it was nice going against Oni. I rarely see him in my games, so please keep playing him.
Hahaha I know, you did great. I'm just teasing. I enjoy playing killers/survivors I don't see often, and Oni is a favorite for tomes with pallet breaking challenges since he definitely gets them down. We're all bad at this game no matter how long we play. It's just how it is.
-
I sit at the exit gate so I can bodyblock for an injured survivor being chased by the killer, or if someone faceplants and I need to do a last minute unhook.
-
I tormented @Huge_Bush today while memeing around on Oni. Bush's team got mad at because they went full urban immersion after I spooked them. The funny part is I'd have let them live anyway after hooking them twice but it's not like they could have known that.
Such a precious lil survivor hidin' from the big bad Oni.
-
You did the right thing.
-
Dead Hard. I wait too long to use it or I mess it up. For a long period of the game I'd get downed, become exhausted and watch my survivor twitch really fast on the ground.
It was glorious.
-
Dude the killer might see us.
-
It was for a different game than we have now. There used to be infinites where survivors could just run around and you could never catch them This could stall the game forever if it was only one or two survivors left.
Now we have the same situation - but you can break the pallet - and that fixes everything. They've tried a test and disabled bloodlust, but that brought up another issue with the W meta.
-
I think add ons should change or spice up a gaming style for the slasher you pick. I'm not too keen on 1%/2%/3% boosts to an attribute. More scratched mirror less filler add on LETS GOOOOOO
-
I'm saying this as someone that takes lots of breaks, but mix it up. You don't have to challenge yourself but if you do the same anything for an extended period of time, it's gonna wear ya out.

This but unironically. BUT I'm not going to pass up the opportunity to funpost. I know what would satisfy the community.
New Survivors: Beavis and Butthead
6 New perks: (The perk title and descriptions are just laughing.)
Killer: Principal McVicker. He just has a stress induced heart attack as soon as the trial starts. He's 'The Teacher' killer you all found in the files at the start of the game. Surprise. It's him. Spoilers.
We even have a trailer for how they arrived in the Fog. A strange, unexplained death.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9a_TTZoTY8This isn't the community update we need, but we both want and deserve it.
I want it at least.
-
Just gonna say my best advice for new players if one pops in here, pick a build and unlock teachables for only those perks you want (as opposed to all teachables) so you can get your preferred build with no filler perks.
-
Current Blight is about as oppressive as old school backrev Billy, and they changed Billy at some point and kneecapped him pretty hard so I don't think Blight will be like that forever.
Just be super aggressive on survivor and run WGLF for point boosts until MMR decides you're too godly to face Blight anymore and you spend your days with Demogorgon and Shape.
-
I run mostly meme add ons/non meta perks for this reason. When I play meta with iri add ons it usually just feels like I stomped someone hard in the face for no reason. Since I use a lot of bloodpoint buffing perks too (Distressing, etc) their deaths isn't as important to me as the adventure.
Sometimes 2 hooking everyone and having them drop their items at the exit gate is more satisfying than destroying them.
Sometimes.
-
Imagine if every time you logged in to play, like absolutely every single time you got the sweatiest survivors that do nothing but sweat, breathe and dream about bloodpoints.
-
Your game froze because Microsoft is pushing another update onto your system, restart your computer and install all the update viruses from Microsoft to get things smooth again.

That's right. Also, map offerings are OP and should be removed. Survivors having control over which map to go to is a killer-only privilege.
I agree, I agree.
Fixed the bloodweb for survivors. The game should be fixed now.

No seriously. Capture Points, generators, same thing.

Ooh I like that kinda like how if you vault a window too many times it gets blocked but instead it's the survivors basically giving you a free random hex if the killer doesn't have a hex perk and another one of theirs if they do have one
I mean survivors are technically playing with a force they don't understand in a realm that is not their own. Who is to say that next circle of healing blessing won't blind/oblivious you the rest of the match and destroy the totem if you've blessed it two or three times?
