I mean... we had Brand new parts that instantly repaired a gen.
I honestly miss the old brand new parts because you felt like a total tool when you missed a skillcheck (especially at the start) and ruined your own life. No Franklins back then either. Nothing you could do about it as killer.
Now Dead by Daylight is COMPETITIVE!
Yeeeeee

“OP medkit” why don’t we just get rid of every single survivor item?? Are survivors not allowed to have items??
No
-
What?
*awkward stare*
-
Maybe it's because I can't sleep but I just imagined a hardened killer going into a panic when he sees a survivor with a toolbox.
Is that a toolbox? AAAAH. AAAAAAAAAAAH.
I don't think it's OP though, probably only because I'm still used to pre-nerf toolboxes. It's medkits that you have to look out for nowadays.
-
I've gone down to a sneaky corner zombie. Fortunately I was playing Meg at the time so I could just blame it on the Meg curse, but I think it was chase music covering up the grawrr noises he made and I just didn't hear it.
-
What you do is stalk someone until their circle is almost full since it doesn't go away unless you hit them. When you're ready to go for that survivor just go into stealth for a second, expose them then hit them. Even if you're in mid chase you can get about a half circle on someone before they can break you out.
-
If you're playing against a high end team you'll lose 3 gens 2 minutes into the match and you have about 2 minutes after that to get 4 sacrifices, so don't worry about it.
Accept that in the killer role sometimes the odds are just stacked against you and do what you can. The actual match results don't matter in the end, but you get to keep the points from it so I always recommend burning a points offering.
-
Oh my god it's beautiful. Elegant. Divine.

Everyone uses that flag because it's free and stands out with those bright colors. Use the lamp. Be unique. Do what a moth would do.

You have to remember people here that are willing to engage with the game and learn the perks and add ons and all that jazz are a minority. Most people playing this game just pop in sometimes, play a game and it doesn't really go past that. They're not thinking about strategies or anything. It's just Generator: Escape or die edition.
A beam of light is not a generator. It did not come from a flashlight. If low rank killers could see it then I guarantee it would hold them in place for at least thirty seconds as they try to figure out what it is.
Game ain't simple no more.
-
Not getting caught often does more for the survivor team than leading the killer on a chase because he is wasting all of that time looking for you instead of entering a chase. That's how the game was played on release. You're doing great.
Now if you're at risk at taking a hit, just run and gain distance. While lockers can be useful, it's a one hit down if you get caught in one, and if you're playing a killer like me you're at high risk for a random Iron Maiden perk.
To answer your question directly, you're doing an A+ job. Even if the game doesn't reward it anymore, a killer that can't find survivors can't get hooks. If you're doing a generator and not sitting in a bush all game you're doing fantastic.
-
I think there needs to be more counter play. Snuffing out a totem and canceling the effect isn't really good enough. Now corrupting the totem or even reversing the effect might make it more high risk and high reward but right now it gives survivor a breathing zone, when the goal of the game is to stop survivors from breathing.
You'd think the Entity would get upset if survivor's kept blessing his victims too, or at least hungry. Nice hope you have there champ. Delicious really.

Does anyone of you know how Otz was able to teleport to a box, with a survivor to his feet? I can´t seem to figure this out.
From my knowledge of the game, what I think happened is that Otz pressed space to pick up the survivor, but before the animation played Otz responded to the puzzle being solved so since the game is saying hey, you picked up a survivor and hey, you're moving to deal with the box that it allowed both actions at once. For the survivor they weren't picked up yet so they probably didn't enter the wiggle phase so they just spawned at Pinhead's new location.
I don't see a lot of practical use for dragging a survivor through the Cenobite's labyrinth unless you had fascinating sights to show them but who knows. The Leviathan has many secrets not revealed to mankind.
-
...you're summoning Pinhead mains and you're not solving the puzzle box?
I took emotional damage.
Edit: If a chain hunt is going on and you're far away, summoning your own chain won't give you away since they'll just think it's another auto-chain. That's all I've got.
-
That's how it do be. Everyone is perfect and never wrong.
-
I use it to signal to the killer that I'm too dangerous to chase so I can work on a generator in peace. Alternatively I click mid spin to reset my character's position so I can arc my character differently.
I also use it to fail flashlight saves.
-
Thanks champ, have a good one!
-
We can always bring back original self care. 5 second heals! Problem solved.

Sonic the Hedgehog for Blight with spin dash noises. Legendary skin.

They should just give everyone 6k more shards so nobody misses out.

Not really what I saw.
There's not a single Dead Hard or DS on that team. I thought @Heartbound was mocking the system for putting him up against an obviously bad team.
Pulsar saw what I was doin' lol. I'm not a fan of MMR and I sympathize with your situation. I couldn't really tunnel for that result anyway. I play for hooks and got final judgment on two of them...but yeah I've been playing for a long, long time, but I don't play that much. I was hardcore when it was peer to peer and before devotion. Now I'm casual but above 1k hours. A lightweight compared to a lot of players I see.
I run overpowered perks though so naturally I'm set up for those hardcore players.
-
They really do throw you to the wolves when you're playing killer. It's pretty satisfying to swat down one of those groups.
-
Buy her bird seed.
I like using Discordance in general and it gives you an area to launch a crow, but basic gen defense and a cheeky perk like Dark Devotion can make games a lot more controllable.

Full themed trial? Nice.
What can I say, I love this game. :>
-
Last night we had basically a 3v1 vs. a Doctor and we ended up 3 genning ourselves. He would not let those gens be done and wouldn't commit to a chase, but I had self care and could keep on the pressure while the other two survivors kept themselves healed as a duo.
Took a few minutes but eventually one of that duo came over to my gen and caught the Doc off guard and we completed the generator. He rage quit the moment that generator finished.
I'd be satisfied with that end.
-
Books in general are a lot more hardcore than people are used to nowadays. It probably didn't get referenced as much to keep Sadako from being too scary. The menu jumpscare has people crying as it is.
-
The game has definitely shifted from horror to action slasher. There's no fog anymore, maps are much brighter and actions are very quick (as opposed to slow and methodical).
If you asked me a few years ago if I thought this game would have all of these killers and we'd be going toe to toe with the killer instead of hiding from that one down Mori I'd have said nope. I know games evolve but...I didn't expect an action game lol.
-
I took a break during Jane's chapter and Ghostface's chapter, but I only play like ~3 or 4 days a month so it's not that much of a shift in my schedule. If I get tilted I probably take the month off and haunt the forums.
-
The biggest fan of the Spirit is the Oni. He's proud of his lineage.
-
You get to hit people that are playing survivor.
-
You know what survivors need? Undying, but for boons. If the killer snuffs out a totem it should respawn somewhere else.
-
A lot of killers and survivors in this game are a bit suspicious and you can kinda tell if you've got experience playing this game. I get that it's a cat and mouse game, but eh.
I mean if you're afk and doing that, you're probably not too worried about playing the game properly. I find this annoying because what if the survivors are doing a challenge where they need blinds? Have a heart sir.
-
I doubt Nemesis has a high pick rate because everyone is just a massive fan of Resident Evil.
There must be another reason. Path of least resistance and all.
-
They give me a reason to log in and play with perks and stuff that I wouldn't do otherwise, even if I think some of the challenges are dumb. I can always tell where I enjoyed the game and what I don't enjoy. Turns out I don't like unhooking survivors as much as I thought I did.
In fact, I really don't like unhooking survivors. Or stunning the killer. Or finding the hatch. I've learned a lot about myself while playing the rifts. Most of the undone challenges are unhooking survivors. I play a healer build and it's logical to walk over to the hook and use the healing build but nope. Get one hooked nerd I hate you.
Wait hold on I need you to help me repair this gen don't go to second state oh god oh god oh god.
Apparently I'm also a killer main when it comes to things I enjoy doing in this game, but most of the time I play it's derping around on a survivor. Overall I'm glad they added it. I'm just waiting for the not chapter related purposely hard tome that requires unhooking 99 survivors, repairing 99 gens, sacrificing 99 survivors, with easy Master challenges so people will actually try to complete it. At the end of the 4th turbo rift it's just a head cosmetic that looks like a strobe light.
Yeah.
-
It's pronunced Norou if you wanna say it. When you see a survivor, just say no.
Alternatively just imagine it's the word CURSE in English. So you can curse at people whenever you hit them. Or if that's too vulgar you can print out a 3D Word that says Curse and hit survivors with it. Like a word art sword.
Smashing people with your language's lexicon. Aw yiss.
-
I used Ghostface but got stretched res survivors that wouldn't chill for three seconds so I just stalked them until their circle filled halfway, waited for the cooldown and filled the circle and downed them.
I threw the game obviously but I can't be bothered against turbo squads anyway.
-
When you're playing Ghostface you can tell when people are running those resolutions. Makes it hard to take those games seriously.
Part of me thinks this game is about as competitive as Super Smash Bros (which I also think shouldn't be considered competitive). There's just too many variables and no amount of personal skill will guarantee the same output every time.
The other part of me wishes they'd embrace the party game mindset and have random things occur during the trials like stage props injuring survivors or the floor breaking underneath you and putting you on the first floor and so on. I feel like we're kinda somewhere in the middle there.
-
When I'm playing survivor seriously I usually run perks that help heal my team very quickly (and myself even quicker). Empathetic Connection looking tasty too.
What really throws me for a loop are perks like 'A Nurse's Calling' and 'Monitor and Abuse' Getting caught off guard when I'm caring for a survivor usually results in them going down or me getting injured. (Or forbid I'm self caring and I get swatted to the ground and didn't have enough time to Dead Hard.)
You can chase me while I'm injured, no big deal. It's when I'm stopped and healing others or myself that I'm vulnerable because I'm usually tucked away in a spot I perceive to be safe.
You'd think slowdown perks would be an issue, but they're usually only an issue if I'm not running healing perks in the first place. They might stop a brown medkit from doing its job or a yellow medkit. I'm usually near completed generators so if you're on me anyway to apply that pressure, you're not where you need to be and if I get hooked after say 30 seconds, the rest of the survivors have been in a generator rich area uncontested.
Deathbound (I see what you did there devs) is also a perk that gives me away pretty frequently. It also plays into the terror radius suppression so I won't be ready for you. Tinkerer also gets on my nerves. So take from this information what you will.
-
Third Seal is probably the most underrated since it bites solo players in the neck pretty hard.
I personally have a tendency to run Devour Hope. If it's a team that is going to knock over all the totems, they'll get it but if it's a team that just doesn't wanna do anything but generators then I can usually start using my one shots. They can turn the tide. Sometimes.
-
I rember.
-
C. After a close inspection to make sure it wasn't grave rot or something. Need energy to do generators.

Then pick up the box and complete it before he downs the next survivor. you are typing as though someone with 5 hours playtime should be considered when it comes to balancing killers.
Meg and total immersion Claudette will always be on your team. You can run with a 4 man SWF and you'll find there is a 5th survivor in your match. It will be Meg.
There is always a Meg.
-
I get nothing but iri red survivors when I'm playing killer and I kinda feel the same. These survivors will flip those exit gates open in a second if I let them.
I CAN beat them, but maybe I wanna smell the roses. Y'know?

This new generation of gamers is very soft. Plz understnad.

How is that better? the point of the box is to give him some 4v1 pressure. If you can just ignore it then there is zero point to the box and they should delete it and buff the hell out of chains to be super oppressive.
The box is a great concept and I don't know how it works on the coding side of things but it'd get more people to pick up the box if they didn't drop the item (i.e. carrying your item and box at the same time.) I'd just prefer his power be more active so Pinhead has to participate to get value. Though I'd buff his M2 to be a homing chain rather than the aiming system you have now, mainly to keep Pinhead moving instead of stop, activate chain, aim chain, launch chain.
Just M2, summon chain, chain does its thing on its own while you pursue. Survivors that let chains idle on them start chases with 3 chains but if Pinhead is say, camping someone a mile away it's not an issue. Right now Pinhead can afk until a survivor summons him with the box, down the survivor and tab out til the next summon. Not a lot Pinheads do that, but they could.
-
I think it's a mix of survivors not wanting to drop their item and not wanting to get into a chase. Sure it's the point of Cenobite's power and I get it, but also that's why it's happening.
I've been guilty of working on my unhook achievement when Vs. Pinhead. Only once though. I was running to get the box and it was the very start of the match and Pinhead spawned on top of me basically. Now I'm looping around the box and getting chain hunted while Pinhead bloodlusts me. I was mad. Saw teammates were on the other side of the map when I finally went down and was 500% done.
You're right, Pinhead isn't bad to go against, he's just annoying. I think it would be better if the chains just stayed in you and snared you instead of interrupting healing and repairing, so there's still a risk to not breaking the chains but it doesn't completely stop the chains. Plus that'd be better for Pinhead since survivors would start the chase snared.
-
All survivors have 3 health states (4 if you're playing Nemesis).
This game is hard. Dead Hard.
-
I'm too aggressive. I can win a game or three, but sometimes it just doesn't work out for me.
-
That entire situation hurts the Trapper more than it hurts you, but it might be worth rebinding some keys.
