I see what you are saying. I just think for me because I know I should playing well with Spirit because I play her so much. I do think a break from her will help with the frustrations though.
Sometimes a vacation makes us really appreciate our home.

The GOD Nurse can't be beat...but let's be honest that Nurse is highly, highly uncommon and Nurse slashers themselves are a rare breed nowadays despite her legacy and being a free killer.
On one hand there's a metric ton of slashers today and memorizing all of their eccentricities isn't very realistic if you're a casual player, but on the other hand Nurse is free and most players can instantly grasp she's the one that can go through walls/floors and has a default aura perk that lets her know if you're standing still and healing.
It's another person piloting that pac man ghost. Get in their head.
If you really want to face Nurse take a rift challenge that requires you to drop pallets or get into a chase with the killer. That always works for me.

It's not mainly about me winning, it's about me struggling to do well with phase-walking. I feel I make so many mistakes now. If that makes sense.
If there are no scratchmarks/moving grass then I've always failed at phase chases and I don't trust pallet/window vault noises enough to figure out which side I need to be on either. I say this to the point that I can comfortably say it's due to my inability to hear subtle sounds like survivors grunting as they slow vault or survivor breathing (even with Stridor).
So what this tells me is that a Spirit main is having the same problems I have, which means something is probably off with the sounds and it's not even close to the first time this game has had audio issues. It might be a bug and beyond your control, especially if it just started happening. Hang in there champ.
-
I have days where I play Trapper because I need to do something specific for the rift or something and everything just goes south despite having a metric ton of experience.
You're probably tilting yourself by putting too much pressure on yourself to succeed. Run some meme add ons and play casually til you find your groove again.
-
Lethal is the worst perk in the game once you've played a bit. All you have to do as killer spawning in is walk to the other side of the map. There will always be a survivor there. That never changes.
Corrupt is the best choice but if you really need that tracking perk try Discordance. It's great combined with Ruin if you're chasing people off generators.

TF2 is designed to have players dropping in/out midgame; DBD is not.
I'm referring more to old gamer culture where nobody cared than the actual game, but you're an old player like me. I guarantee you didn't care back in the day and we both know this game isn't competitive. Nor should it be really. No sense in treating it like an e-sport.
-
They're working on fixing it but I still wanna funpost.
Canadian company plz understan.
-
This is from TF2, rage quits are funny and something to laugh about. It's not a waste of your time unless you're doing Myers Tombstone achievement, and it's not like dying in this game matters beyond losing your item since you get enough bloodpoints nowadays to instantly buy new items off your bloodweb (assuming you don't have a stock already).
You obviously don't wanna see it every match so I get why there's a building penalty but if it happens just laugh it off. It'll be okay, I promise.
-
I think if I do one more game where I have to open chests and run into another killer that makes you drop your item I'm going to start BMing.
-
Top MMR in this game is just 4 Immersed Claudettes that focus on escapes and nothing else. That's all survivors are graded on.
-
I just got the code. Thanks champ!
-
Monstrous Shrine. It sure ain't worth the perk slot.
-
I think the condemned status should build in chase UNLESS they have a tape in their possession so people have more reason to get the tapes if they're going to get aggressive with the slasher.

im the one looping the killer fool... and not a SINGLE gen pops in those 3 min. so ######### is everyone else doing? not like there's a hook to rescue or a killer to loop--because im doing it--so they BETTER be doing gens.
There's a dull totem over there I need to cleanse. That's a LOT of bloodpoints if I cleanse it. If I open that chest I can get an item AND some bloodpoints.
Did you know if you're in the basement for a little bit, there's a basement time score event? Gotta go for the best time (and get the treasure chest). Wow this trial is so pretty. I'm so glad they did a graphics update.
-
Mikaela's Nosering. I hate noserings with an ever burning passion so I love her 7200 shard hat but default face? Can I get a slasher to cut it off for me? Thanks.
-
Feng's rift will happen at the same time as a Yume Nikki crossover and her outfit will be Madotsuki's.
Sorry for spoilers.
-
I wouldn't worry about it. A lot of people play this game and record, and as someone that has played for years I guarantee there is a catalog full of me doing stupid stuff.
Enjoy the bloodpoints and queue up for the next match. You'll probably never see those people again. Treat yourself to heal those feelies.
-
I'm very mercurial and vulnerable to memes so if a survivor makes me laugh or do something that makes me laugh I'll start playing around. If all four survivors end up memeing they'll all escape. It's a character flaw what can I say.
There's really no rhyme or reason to it. I'll be playing very seriously and going hard and then suddenly I see two crouching survivors on a hill nodding at me. Well. Don't look at me I'm not gonna kill'em.
-
If you do all five generators and open the exit gates, the game will end. You only get a measly 5k points for escaping. If you stay longer you can get 8,000 in EVERY category. Don't be in such a rush lad.
-
You hate to see it but it's pretty peak performance on the survivor's side.

I agree. And remove the message that says "new tier unlocked" when its just an empty slot lmao

Nah. Run Rancor. Just play normally until there is one generator left. If your obsession is still alive at that point guide them to the nearest generator. Stay next to them no matter what. Then, well...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EB2KdGrRqY -
Most survivors that DS me end up dying or going down 3 seconds later, and since I run self care I usually deactivate DS by myself on accident so unless it's a late hook and the exit gates are open there's not much of a difference. There's definitely a difference, but not a game changer.
I have seen it change games, but as someone with a short attention span that doesn't linger around the hook and someone that runs Devour/Rancor pretty often, you don't want to be the obsession vs me.
A team with 4 borrowed times can be much more frightening than a team with 4 Decisives, and you don't have to buy the Halloween chapter for Borrowed.
-
I can't play Spirit. A lot of her power is based on audio and I'm severely deaf. Now don't get me wrong, I can and will follow your scratchmarks and I can hear you vault over a pallet. If you're just running forward or being predictable I can down you out of phase using game sense BUT...
You people with "normal hearing" are beyond my understanding. If there's no grass moving beneath the survivor or no scratchmarks then I lose every phase chase by default.
-
I'd vote for going through breakable doors but not dropped pallets. A ghost going through walls doesn't bother me when demanifested but for gameplay purposes that spooker would just end up having the survivor slide to the other side over and over. There's no benefit to it.
-
It happens to me on occasion. It's a flaw with having everything on BHVR's servers instead of being peer to peer. Nothing we can really do about it as players.
-
The best part about not having to play against AI is that a human player is unpredictable. You're doing good work sir.
-
I want to see someone get mad an read every single one of my forum posts to find something to get mad at me about. I want to watch them descend into madness once they realize I'm just a massive funposter.
-
I love Rancor. Generally because I love Mori's in general, but in games where I'm not doing so hot at least as a consolation I can take one of their SWF squad and they usually can't do anything about it. It's about as great and underrated as Left Behind.
You don't even have to tunnel someone. If someone pops a generator, you know where everyone is. No guesswork required. If they're down a player or two and they pop the final gen you can generally suss out where the obsession is if they're still alive at this point. I've always found it much better than NOED.
-
It's definitely on the easier side to get high BP games with the Onryo...but a true master lets survivors take Sadako to the carnival, play games and buy her cotton candy.
-
I've been maining Sadako because she fits my playstyle. Quick warps across the map, 115% killer with some cheeky semi-stealth going on.
She's definitely not built to face 4 man SWF, but boy do I enjoy checking all generators on a whim until I find someone.

I don't want to drop my item.
"Reasons you should drop your item and pick up the box."
I don't want to drop my item.
In fact, I'll put my item in a safe spot somewhere in the trial just in case I need it later, THEN I'll go get the box. Wait, Pinhead's nearby. Oops I'm in a chase I'll go do it all later. Someone else will pick up the box.
Someone else: I don't want to drop my item.
-
It was pretty neat. What really impresses me is that BHVR somehow managed to phone call you, even though they only said 'Seven Days' on the phone. I'm really getting immersed this chapter.
-
Just do boons.
-
Weird. I just got a phone call that said seven days after I saw it. No crashes here.
-
I'll throw my hat into the ring. I have my moments that may throw a killer into another tier, but this is a good average.
-
I've been playing really nice today as Onryo so I feel like this may be my fault.
I've let all Yoichi's escape today because they're precious and survivors keep memeing and I'm highly vulnerable to memes. I can't help it.
I'm just very very capricious. In an hour or two I might start equipping ultra rare add ons and Mori. Who knows.
-
Fast games. I don't have to wait to play.
That doesn't sound like a big deal but it is.
-
@PeaceNGrease said:
I was wondering why it just now popped up instead of when I actually bought the dlc
Ring's whole thing is "7 days" so it's likely flavor/fun.
-
Don't look so disappointed champ, it could still happen!
(I'm not disappointed, you're disappointed.)
-
I remember red rank killer queues taking forever when I wanted to play killer so it'd probably just go back to that. Playing tabbed out of the game waiting for a match, doing a bit of pallet smashy survivor stabby, rinse repeat.
I like that we get fast games now regardless of MMR or whatever, but if people eventually stop queueing up, well, there is always the tutorial.
-
I used to care a lot about winning whatever role I'm playing, but over the years I've realized that so many people record this game to the point that there is likely a thousand videos of me doing the most stupid things you can imagine and my most awful gameplays are probably recorded in someone's highlight reels just because I wanted to play the game when I was sleepy.
With that knowledge under my belt I thought about it one day like two years ago. Every time I play this game there's a risk of that happening. Do I really care? Like legitimately and truly? It's a choice I have to make, because it's going to happen anyway.
I don't care. That's all you have to do. Just don't care.
-
A lot of games work on FOMO. For me if I'm going to play the game anyway, I take advantage of whatever is going on. If I don't have time to play, then I don't have time to play.
It does work on a lot of younger people. I guarantee if they put a cute puppy charm for playing 3 matches in for a limited time you'd have a massive surge in players. It's just the way it is. Why it works in hide and seek murder game I dunno, but that's just how people do be.
-
I was curious about how Sadako looks at P3, so thanks for this. Kiiiiinda wish she had a little more red on the body cloth but I'd claw my way out of a well for this.
-
As a survivor I witnessed a survivor getting Mori'd via condemnation. I didn't realize what was going on until I saw the survivor's icon turn to a skull. I just thought Sadako was memeing or afk. Whoops.

They changed it, now its only spawn when only 1 survivor alive
Oh wow, it looks like they did. Back in my day you could interrupt survivors jumping into the hatch and pull'em out. These young developers always changin' mah game.
That's it I'm playin' me Trapper.
-
If you're facing competent survivors they'll automatically move to a clear area. They want to see the mori just as much as you do. If a survivor won't let you see the mori then that means the survivor just needs to get good.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe hatch doesn’t spawn until there’s 1 survivor left these days.
Unless something changed that I'm not aware of it should still be X survivors in trial +1 generator so if you're down to the last two survivors and three generators have been completed the hatch will be visible somewhere on the trial grounds. That's how a game that is going poorly for survivors ends up with multiple key escapes.
