Yep. Path of least resistance. What a thing to be known for.
-
I'm too aggressive for that situation to last long for me survivor or killer side. As survivor I'll keep harassing a generator until either my team does the other 2 or I get taken out. For better or worse, I'm not worried about the outcome.
As killer I just chase someone. Even if they finish the gen they have to come rescue the poor sap. Game ain't over. Better hope you finish that gen before I finish that chase btw.
-
It's your connection to the server. If you see it during a chase get ready for shenanigans.
-
If it makes you feel any better it's happening to me with my meme builds. You can't mess around and play since if you do gens will pop very quickly, not even letting survivors go or dying a lot seems to change things. I don't get campers and the other survivors are really strong but I just wanna relax. I'm not competitive. Zzz.

I recently had to make the toughest decision... Which is to let them all go and to prestige my old Survivors who had those retired offerings too.
Press F to pay respect...
F.
I wish I knew they'd be retired someday, I would have held on to at least one of each.
-
I'm on the higher end of MMR and commonly get iri red survivors despite playing like, 4 times a month. Instant killer queue times though which I think is a part of it. I can beat them if I try or have the right build/killer setup but most of the time I'm just goofing off so whatever.
-
David and Laurie by Daylight, and the killer is always Hag.

Is this bannable? Asking for a friend.
About as bannable as Leatherface insidious camping the basement. The game can still end.
-
I'll do one for every killer because I'm feeling it Mr. Krabs.
Trapper - Trap Toss. When holding a bear trap you have a little white circle that shows where you can throw a trap. The trap takes about 1 second to go through the air and set, and if it collides with a survivor they're instantly trapped. In the face. If the trap hits a wall or obstacle other than the survivor or ground, it is destroyed.
Wraith - Chaos Bell. Ringing the bell (cloaking or uncloaking) causes the survivor's screen to blur (think clown bottles) but worse the closer the Wraith is to the survivor. Survivor's camera will shift to face the Wraith. You can no longer cancel your cloak or uncloak.
Hillbilly - Unlimited Saw. You no longer have an overheat mechanic. Your chainsaw charge up time cannot be decreased but if ran with the add on that breaks pallets on hit you can still one hit down people.
Nurse - Really breathy breath. Breathing survivors reveal themselves with a static that increases when they're injured. (So the Nurse has a general idea of where you are.) Missing a blink hazes your screen for 10 seconds (So you can't just warp on people if they juke you. Like, extended exhaustion.)
Shape - Teleport. When no survivors are looking at you, you're able to vanish completely and reappear somewhere else on the map. You cannot teleport within 32 meters of a survivor. You cannot go into Tier 3. (I imagine this being used with Scratched Mirror)
Hag - Mud traps. Hag can no longer teleport to the survivor, but if they trip a trap they're slowed -a lot- and are pretty much sitting ducks. If multiple survivors walk in the mud trap they're slowed too until they exit the tile. Make it last a little bit.
Doctor - Moving Illusions. A survivor can now see illusions at Tier 1. At Tier 2 Doctors will start moving around the map with a terror radius. They're aggressive and can swing but cannot deal you a damage state. If they grab you on a generator you're instantly Tier 3 Madness.
Huntress - Bear Strength. Instead of Hatchets you have a wind up on your main attack. Fully charged downs people in one hit, but it takes like 5 seconds to do so. Run it with the add on that gives you 115% run speed.
Cannibal - Tantrum. Tantrum can be activated at will and you can move at normal speed during it. Uses all charges (so use it on your last charge). If you collide with an environmental piece at any point, you throw a tantrum, then another tantrum. You're exhausted after that and move at 110% for a minute and cannot use your chainsaw.
Nightmare - Face the Nightmare. You have the option of warping a survivor out of reality. They'll face a computer controlled Nightmare that chases them around the map with abilities a normal slasher can't have due to game limitations. For the survivor to survive they have to loop this superpowered Freddy and make it to a clearly marked exit area. If they get caught, they get a special mori. Welcome to prime time.
Pig - Window Traps. You think ahead. You have 10 Window Traps instead of Bear Traps, which follow the same rules as the Bear Traps. You can place them on pallets and vaults. When active and the killer isn't chasing them, the survivor is slowed severely while the clock ticks down. Great. You escaped the chase. I want to play a game. You did it to yourself.
Clown - Pink Elephant. Clown can now bull rush the survivors. Running into a wall honks your nose and stuns you for a bit. Can technically be used for travel but if the Clown catches you then you're instantly picked up without losing a health state. Hope you can wiggle off champ.
Spirit - Walking Phase. Your husk now walks around and chases nearby survivors but can do no damage. You also can no longer see your husk while phasing. Upon reappearing the husk explodes and makes nearby survivors scream.
Legion - Team up. Other Legion members walk around with the same AI as Nemesis zombies, except a little faster and can injure. You cannot see them on the map or what they're doing and they can be knocked unconscious by a pallet drop. If one goes down the final legion member spawns. If they're all 3 defeated then they stay down.
Plague - Full throttle. You now have brown puke from the other side. Causes intense sickness to any survivor unfortunate enough to be in the spray. A clever Plague may be able to aim without being able to see, but unlikely. Probably decrease the amount of liquid that comes from the front to compensate.
Ghostface - Buddy up. There are now two ghost faces on the map. One AI controlled. You do not get credit for his kills and Ghostface will attack you and sabotage your chases. You're stunned longer and may trip. You may kill your buddy or he may fall to pallet slams, but it's going to be chaos. A high chance of falling down stairs in a goofy manner. Like the movies.
Demogorgon. Abyssal Map - Your teleports start placed next to all the generators. You don't get them back if they're cleansed, but they take a very long time to cleanse and you have killer instinct regardless of if you're channeling the abyss.
Oni - You're now in the blood fury state all match, but you lose the ability to M1 survivors unless you're carrying one. Your kanabo must be fully charged before hammering it down. Blood covers your screen for 30 seconds on successful down of a survivor.
Deathslinger - Explosive gun. Your gun can malfunction and explode on command. You lose the ability to use your gun for 2 minutes but any survivors impaled while the explosion happens are instantly downed. If used while not being fired then you're stunned for 10 seconds and all survivors within 12 meters of you are downed.
Executioner - Nurses (no not Sally) Silent Hill Nurses join the fray and act like Nemesis zombies. If they are slain they cannot be revived.
Blight - Splash of Serum - If you run into a survivor without hitting them after the first dash, you splash orange serum on them. This cannot be removed for the rest of the match and leaves an orange trail when they run (not walk) and it glows slightly. It takes them slightly longer to heal due to the toxin.
Twins - Active other half - While you're in control of Victor, Charlotte can move around independently and attack survivors. Double the transition time and realize Charlotte may not be in a tactical place when you do come back. Victor does his own thing when you're in control of Charlotte but he's turbo aggro and not careful.
Trickster - Getting out of lockers lacerates a survivor with knives for one health state. Knives can now be stuck in generators and exit gate panels for 1 minute, damaging the survivor every 5 seconds he interacts with the object. (This could be entirely useless if you're not around to finish the job.)
Nemesis - Rocket Launcher. You now have three missiles you can fire in exchange for not being able to use your infection whip. The rockets instantly down all survivors in the area that are hit. Hope you're a good shot, otherwise you're a fist wizard after you mess up. It is very, very obvious you are running this add on.
Cenobite - True puzzle. No box spawns in the trial, but after a survivor is hooked a piece of the box falls down. The pieces fuse if brought together. If six pieces fuse then the puzzle box becomes whole. If a survivor activates the box then the Leviathan chains you for the rest of the match, effectively banishing you. If you stop the survivor from completing the banishment you can instantly Mori him and the box is removed from the match. You lose your passive pressure in exchange for high risk Rancor.
Artist - Flock You no longer control your birds. Flocks and raven heads fire off occasionally without input from you, but generally heckle survivors. You no longer see crow outlines to tell you where survivors are.
-
Bring back original NOED! Let's GOOOOOOOOO
-
I'm down for this.
-
The pen is mightier than the sword.
On rare occasion it gets turned into a giant floating crow head and launched at you.
-
I still think it should have been at least 7,200 shards if not a cosmetic. Part of me is like well maybe it was the license and they didn't want their property used this way so BHVR bent to keep Leatherface in the game, but the other part of me is like, exploitable. Wonder what else is going to go next once someone gets their knickers in a twist.
-
I am personally responsible for every nerf survivors have gotten due to a high escape rate.
Edit: Nice art!
-
That stuff like the mist reagents are from a different time. Nowadays as killer you just run to the opposite side of the map and you'll run into all four survivors anyway so it'd be kinda redundant.
-
I've tried to warn people for years. I'm just sayin'.
-
The problem with measuring this community is that you usually reach people right after a potentially stress induced experience. Competitive people or people trying to make X happen aren't going to be in the best of moods.
Like if all 4 survivors escape me I usually get 4 ggs, and we can chill and talk and have fun. If I kill 2, well, those two are already gone and queued up for another game. They may not have taken it bad but that one dude that sticks around to yell at you, well, that's all you see.
Forum side you have those competitive players and chill dorks like me that just mess around. I think your average player just plays a few rounds then does something else.
-
I was quite surprised to be caught up in this mess as well. Though it's not my first rodeo where this game has acted up.
I could be getting facecamped right now, but alas. I'll settle with doing other things for the time being.
-
Nah. In fact it used to be meta where you'd only take meta teachables so when you get a new survivor they only have certain perks that pop up in their web instead of every single one.
If it's any consolation a lot of people are having issues with the game at the moment so it's not just you.
-
I know those feels but I struggle to think of how to change him. He's just a 115% killer with a chainsaw that acts like a multi-blast shotgun. I'd rather not face him because of how the players play him though. He could use the Pyramid Head cage treatment with hooks.
-
Where did they go? Because I didn't SWF back then, and I still can't be bothered with the hatch nowadays.
-
I wear green shirt / brown pants for Claudette, and until recently I had white for Kate. I'm also a fan of Adam's dark brown trenchcoat. They have their own charm.
-
Bring back old Saboteur and we'll make it happen again.
-
I have a mental image of a killer just standing there, staring at a David King. Then David King screams and falls over and depips.
-
Nurse. Hear me out. If it's a bad Nurse then it's such a silly game, but if it's a god Nurse then you all die nearly instantly and it's so rare nowadays and amazing that you just kinda have to respect it.
Most Nurses fall somewhere in the middle. They're trying to predict you and you're trying to predict them. I find it a lot of fun.
Pyramid Head takes the silver. He has a lot of tricks up his sleeve. He has a Mori at the end if you're being judged and since I normally tab out until the tally screen when I die it's refreshing. Just bam. Ded.
Bronze is Trapper since I'm a Trapper main. I have a general idea of where they'll place their traps and what they'll do so I like seeing if they'll place a cheeky trap in a 400IQ location that I can use later.
Nemesis gets the participation trophy. I see him a lot and you can really fwish them when they keep missing their tentatacle, but if a zombie chases me off a gen one more time... Those interactions where the killer is not even close to being near me and I'm just playing with a hug wanter has its own charm.
-
Poor Billy, once the King of the Hill and a viable alternative to Nurse, now he's...
Poor Billy.
I used to play him as a pure M2 Killer and never swung my weapon. Feels weird man.
-
Now this I can get behind. When I get tunneled in the first minute of the game for the rest of the match I can warp anywhere someone else is in an instant AND I can't be sacrificed again.
Take that, Adrian Brody.
-
Killer Perk: Monstrous Shrine
Basement hook-type hooks spawn in 4 places on the map, and the chance to escape from them is lowered by x percent. So you'd have some hooks spawns with 4 hooks.
Survivor Perk: Ace's perks.
Make luck also have a chance to make vaults/missed skill checks/explosions not trigger. So you could escape a killer chase by getting lucky because the killer didn't hear you vault or fall.
-
Yeah they eventually drop into the store. Some haven't been seen yet for a long time but they're supposed to.
I don't have a source, it came to me in a dream.
-
Blight sure is a Blight, ain't he?

Lunar Wraith knows what's good.

All that was way broken and need to be fixed.
I love how people try to point out the devs fixing clearly broken stuff on the survivor side as dev been killer sided. And acting like we should be grateful the infinites and instant flashlight are gone like thanks for removing broken stuff that was there for years with no counterplay.
Nah, back when I was playing it I didn't think of any of it as broken. You had 3 killers. Trapper, Wraith or Hillbilly. Your job as Trapper was to run the survivors into traps, Hillbilly was just fast and there was no cooldown on his ability and Wraith was...well. He was there too.
They didn't plan around looping 'cause looping wasn't a thing. It just didn't come up until survivor hitboxes were discovered to be smaller than killers so you could hug the loops to get a little distance. I think that when they added more killers that didn't have instant stopping power or one hit downs they had to rearrange the game. Keep in mind if I trapped you and I played a Mori you were out. Your player skill had nothing to do with it.
Game was a lot slower and more deliberate too. I'd like to revert all the changes and go back to the way it was, but increase all 110% killers to 115% and 115% to 120%. It would change the entire game in a positive way.
-
Nah. There used to be full on infinites, no bloodlust and windows didn't block after 3 uses. You couldn't kick generators and there were way more pallets. On top of that, stealth was still the preferred way of playing. So you'd have first find them and then deal with all of the other stuff.
Oh, and you couldn't hook anyone. Sabo squads made Iron Grasp a meta perk. Once a hook was gone, it was gone. On the other side you used to be able to Mori someone on first down and it was only like 10k points to pip iirc but there were less score events.
So in that sense, the tweaks nowadays are nothing compared to the gifts killers have been given, but I'd argue survivors have gotten the nerf bat the most.
-
I wonder how many times I've been recorded dying in stupid ways.
-
Ambush is kinda a meme, but can come in handy around some unsafe loops. At worst it'll make the survivor abandon the loop since it's basically a super lunge with a long wind up. I like using ambush when dropping off of a high building because no matter which way the survivor runs you can just steer into them. Take that Balanced Landing.
If you can play an 115% killer, you can play pig. The sneaking portion of her kit can be cheeky but it comes down to experience on when to do it.
Place your traps as soon as you can, they're more effective early. The reason I and many others hate pig is that trap combined with a tunneling pig makes it impossible to do anything. It's just not fun. Yes the timer stops for the survivor while in a chase but...yeah.
What's worse than a tunneling pig is a crouching pig that observes you and stops you from trying to get the trap off. You don't get into a chase so the timer goes down but you interrupt the survivor on the box and hook them when they try to get it off. It's so dumb. You know they have to go to that box so...
If the Pig plays nice she's alright. You can slow the game down a lot but it's all on how you handle the match.
-
Playing for hooks is more fun and lowers your MMR so you're also playing with people that play for fun.
Personally I see it as an absolute win.
-
There's an achievement on Steam for unhooking yourself 50 times this way. No Mither one hook challenge games lets gooooooo

In the same patch they gave her probably the most trolly killer add on in the entire game. Kind of funny. You can't head pop people with timer+crate anymore but you can equip vhs tape, rule set number 2, and just crouch infront of a box.
Which is apparently very skillful if it nets you kills.
Most skillful killer in the game.
-
Last time someone tried that on me in the library I let them bleed out.
-
I'll give them credit they changed the add ons that made 5 boxes and not enough time to search them. If a crouching pig follows me one more time I'm just gonna sit on her.

Unfortunately, that's the fault of the game just throwing you in at the deep end and the loading screens not helping as much as they should.
It's not a character design problem, because you can't design characters around the dual limits of "what about someone that knows nothing and looks nothing up" and "people doing other, irrelevant things in the match."
I can agree with that.

Because said random probably isn't playing the game to lose.
"My motivation to win is the item I have" is a really dumb reason to criticise Pinhead. That's on the Survivors in question having stupid priorities in a game. Like, the motivation to win in a game, is winning?
You have to remember for that casual player that wants to win, there's no tutorial. They loaded into the match with an item they picked out, and all they heard at the start of the match is a chime and see a box. They may not even put two and two together and recognize that it's Pinhead's power. It might just be a map feature. They dunno.
Are you going to put down your item for some random item in the trial that you don't know what it does? No. You're gonna hold on to your medkit. You need that to heal.
Alternatively, my teammate wants to win, he'll go get the box. I need to do this glyph challenge. There's an envelope over there. That guy is hooked. This gen needs to be pushed. I'm scared because the video game played an auditory noise. A corpse fell out of a locker and now I'm frazzled for the next three minutes.
I have chains on me. What does that mean? Etc.
-
Add spiders to the bloodweb. They'll web up 1/3rd of the bloodweb, while the Entity consumes like normal.
If you beeline it you're guaranteed one or two perks or an ultra rare, but if you linger on the bloodweb screen then spiders jump out of your screen and start running around your house.
-
I'd prefer they get rid of Hawkins tbh.
-
Playing against Pinhead means you have to put down your item (and your reason to survive the trial) and the chains will stop you from solving the box.
If Ruin is active then those interrupting chains will cost you progress on generators and make it difficult to heal your teammates.
Now you may see that and think of a response. A tactical way to play. That's fine.
Tell that to Joe random. What's his motivation to do that? Pinhead wins.
-
The match I went in blind I expected to grab the glyph and see some sort of white outline of an altar somewhere else on the map as a designated safe spot. I like that "somewhere safe" is somewhere tongue in cheek BUT that's kind of rough. You'd never think to check the basement.
-
I've been using it to see what the fuss is about. I wiggled off ~4 or 5 times today. (Compared to basically never) So it now actually does its job now.
Did it really change the outcome of any of those matches? Nah. At best it gave my teams time to do an extra generator, but by the time I was getting into the situation where I'd need to boil over my team was already breaking anyway.
I'll probably play with it a little bit more but after the novelty wears off I'll probably go back to my comfort zone perks tbh.
-
Hehe. You said bred.
-
You'll notice if you try it a lot of the time the slasher will step back and watch you spin for a second until you're in a good position to strike. Think of the killer's slash like a cone, right? Anything in front of him will cause you to take a damage state. By spinning around and around you're trying to make it so you're not in that cone.
Personally what I like to do is fake to either my right or left and then hard swing my character in the opposite direction so at the end of the lunge I'm on the side of the killer instead of in front of him and still in his field of view.
It's better than just running forward and letting them get a guaranteed hit. If you don't have Dead Hard still look behind you and act like you do, it can buy you a few seconds while they bait out your bait, while they in reality were the ones baited.
-
I'm going to, but I'm going in casually. I haven't seen what the item criteria is yet but I'll be going for whatever I can so long as getting the items aren't obtuse/require ten bucks.
