Why was dead hard never talked about till this year?

Dead hard before res evil was the same as it is now. It was never talked about and it has been used the same. Obv during res evil release dh didn't even work, but now it's back to normal and it's now being complained about (after it was fixed).

I don't see why people just started talking about it this year (and some of last).

  • Blight is meta and it counters his long cooldown rush. It used to just annoy Nurse because if she blinked twice you knew to Dead Hard as soon as you saw her red stain on you. Enough time has passed that it has been forgotten. If it was just a problem for the M1 killers you'd see Relentless in play more but I don't think it's the M1 Killers. It's the meta that's causin' mads.

  • Oh no they acknowledged it back in early 2021 but apparently that flew past their minds. Thats how we got curving dead hard in either the trickster ptb or his mid chapter ptb which no matter who tells me was definitely not a "bug".

  • What rock have you been living under? It has been complained about since its release.

The only thing that changed is they "fixed" the perk so you don't get exhausted on the ground and even more people started to run it making it all the more annoying to go against. Then everyone figured out you can use it for distance and when and where to use it making it even doubly annoying to go against.

TLDR. Survivors got good and mastered the perk after bhvr "fixed" it

  • Validation

People used to just put up with Dead Hard before since it didn't always work

When Validation started making the perk work "properly" and showing killers how many hits they actually get robbed out of (the false hit/blood on screen and such) then the DH hate grew ten sizes that day

Validation has gotten better though but the problems with DH remain for now.

  • I've seen people mentioning Dead Hard ever since 2020. A few months or so after Balanced Landing got its nerf. There definitely has been a progressive increase in the topic though.
