Iri. Head should be reworked so it's like Deathslinger's Iri. Coin- make it an instadown if it hits a Survivor from far away (+24m? It can encourage going for Skilled Huntress). Buffs and addons like this are great for this- a powerful effect that requires a high amount of skill to pull off.
-
Stephen King has always been against any of his properties in games (or at least DBD), so I doubt Pennywise, Carrie, Jack Torrance, or any of them will come to DBD soon, if ever.
Jason is practically a guarantee though- you can't have a horror game with icons like Freddy and GF while leaving out Jason. Were it not for the lawsuit, he would be in DBD already- as it is, the lawsuit could be over by then, so here's hoping.
-
It sucks that it happened, honestly there's no stopping such an optimized 4 man SWF. If BHVR ever decided to balance around the issue, or at least look at some of the minor issues here like BNPs, then this game would be a lot healthier.
As it stands, maybe bring Corrupt Intervention? Guaranteed 3 gens blocked for 2 minutes, and if you can create that early game pressure in that time you won't need to worry about this as much. I often run Corrupt+PGTW instead of Ruin+Undying, bc its not as risky as Hexes and ensures gen rush doesn't immediately happen.
-
I refuse to kill Survivors that have ######### teammates (multiple DCs, toxic sabotagers, etc.), and people doing Adept Laurie or David (OoO and No Mither are begging to be tunneled).
-
I shake my head in response to BM or really stupid Survivor plays. For example, once a Dwight stunned me as Pyramid Head at the Killer Shack pallet and pointed at me. I got Rites of Judgement ready, he ran but I still hit him and downed him through the wall. When I went to pick him up I shook my head- he thought he was good for stunning me, then I downed him immediately after.
-
Hag: Corrupt Intervention, MYC, BBQ&C, PGTW w/setting speed or teleport range addons.
Spirit: Corrupt Intervention, BBQ&C, Sloppy Butcher and Stridor/STBFL w/duration and speed addons, occasionally reappearance/lunge addons.
-
The only thing I don't like about this is that the ideas came from a fan and not a dev, meaning this probably won't make it into the game anytime soon :( amazing job dude, this is by far my favorite Chapter concept I've seen.

I like how they are, they show your that your actually good at the killer (most of the time)
I've done 21 of the Killer Adepts, and about 17-18 of them were at red ranks. It is annoying to have to get the perfect game each time, but like you said it shows how to be a good Killer.
-
I don't run Ruin+Undying for most of my matches (as Hag, Doctor, and Spirit mainly), and I've done well with most Killers without it. The only Killers I struggle with are already seen as bad by the community (Clown, Twins, Legion, Plague). Really the only times Ruin+Undying was necessary is for SWFs, and they often power through cause of how broken that aspect can be.
-
For fun? I like screwing with the Killer:
Diversion, Deception, Red Herring, and DH.
A viable build though, I use DS, DH, SG, and Unbreakable.
-
Probably not, seeing as she was going to university before she got turned into Spirit.
-
I heard a rumor that husk Spirit's glass shards glow when she's phasing, can anyone confirm?
@blue4zion said:
For standing still, I cannot stress this enough, STARE AT HER. You will 99% of the time notice her hair reset position, her animations will also reset (usually her arm will quickly jump to her chest).
If you cannot see it, get in a kyf and have a friend just stand still. Get used to the flow of her animations and then have them begin phasing while calling out the exact moment they finish charging phase. It might take a few tries, but you'll eventually see it. (Also take latency into account while testing this) There's also that 1% chance where she and her hair will be nearly in the exact position already, making it harder to notice.
It's especially noticeable when a Spirit begins phasing right after moving.
Please practice this, I swear this will help you so much against the Spirit because fakes will never work, you'll know exactly when she's lost sight of you, and you can call out to friends when she begins phasing.
Do you have pics or video to show the difference? Would help a lot.

Swap things up, depending on if you want to win or have fun (the two seem to be very different nowadays).
My win build is BBQ, Corrupt, Stridor, and PGTW with the Dirty Uwabaki (Considerably increase movement speed) and the Wakizashi Saya (Moderately increase reappearance duration and movement- longer lunge).
Fun builds I like to run are all totem builds (Haunted Grounds, Devour Hope, TOTH, and Ruin), or swapping Stridor and PGTW with some good combo (Blood Echo+Sloppy, Enduring+Spirit Fury, Nemesis+Rancor if I want a challenge).
-
Personally I'm looking forward to the QoL improvements and other fun aesthetics- fun addons that reflect Teachables like the last few Killers, no grunting when vaulting a window, amazing TR music, and if I pray hard enough- jiggle physics return.

Alright, so hear me out, guys.
As a Wraith main from the onset, I've played with a plethora of perks, addons, and playstyles, but I have yet to find any kit that is more hilarious, stupid, and just downright fun to play with than what I've dubbed: Fast Feet Wraith.
The build itself is simple enough, so without further ado, allow me to introduce you to Shadow Dance: Blood, and Shadow Dance: White. Pair these two with Brutal Strength and Bamboozle, and you can vault at the speed of a Survivor's fast vault, while also being able to break pallets, doors, and pop generators within 1/5th of a second.
Survivors who don't see it coming will bait out your game with pallets, but then you smash the thing to dust in less than a second and they go on the panic. They vault windows and you just vault right after them, no hassle, no fuss.
Those who do see it coming will bait you into decloaking, so you fake the decloak and break the pallet when it drops.
In short, I have never had so much raw, wholesome fun ppaying Wraith, and this build is surprisingly powerful, since Wraith is already a chase Killer with a stealth advantage.
Tell me what you guys think of this build when you play it, my personal build is:
Shadow Dance: Blood, Shadow Dance: White, BBQ, Bamboozle, STBFL, and PGTW.
Throw on Fire Up and Iron Maiden, you've got Crackhead Wraith.
-
Was doing my totem cleansing challenges for the Rift, brought Small Game cause why not and faced 3 Trappers and a Hag. Good times lol
-
Personally I agree with increasing Victor's lethality and helping Charlotte not suffer from the worst fatigue in the game- those are the 2 biggest problems with the Twins, once revised I think they could be viable.
The immediate aura and auras replacing Killer Instinct don't seem that strong, plus they'll be getting that info so often it'll be negligible (base kit Doctor and Legion don't need auras). Spinning Top's nerf was kinda meh, Blindness has its uses but Hemorrhage is laughably bad; That whole status effect needs to be looked at, because blood tracking is not as strong as the Devs seem to think.
-
Three perks I made for a military Killer a while back:
1) Espionage:
You gather intelligence and knowledge about your enemies before beginning the hunt. At the start of the trial, see the auras of all Survivors for 4/6/8 seconds. See the auras of items on the ground, and when standing over them see the item's rarity and addons.
2) Demilitarized Zone
Set a perimeter to guard your territory. After kicking a generator, it and the closest two generators are highlighted in yellow. If a Survivor starts working on one of these generators or enters the area inside them, their aura is shown to the Killer. If the Killer kicks one of the generators or enters the area inside them, Demilitarized Zone goes onto a 120/100/80 second cooldown.
3) Conscription
Force an enemy to do your bidding. You become Obsessed with one Survivor. After hitting your Obsession, Conscription gains a token, up to 3/4/5 tokens. A token is consumed whenever:
When the Obsession hits a skill check while heals a Survivor, the skill check is ignored and the healing progression is reset to zero.
When the Obsession hits a skill check while repairing a Generator, the Generator explodes as if they missed a Skill Check. Additional gen regression of 4/6/8%.
I know the first is kinda weak, maybe it should give more info like tracking Survivors with items? IDK :p

Doesn't pebble get earned while slugged?
(I know that you get it while being hooked not sure about being slugged)
This is one of my pet peeves- both work while in the Killer's TR, but Diversion is also 'charging' when slugged, carried, even on the hook. Stake Out you have to be injured or healthy and out of chase. Either nerf Diversion or buff Stake Out, make them more uniform.

TBF, you don't necessarily need 4 iridescent emblems, rather, you need 2 pips. At any rank 3 iridescent emblems will net you a merciless rank, and at ranks 13-20 you can net merciless with 2 iridescent and 2 gold.
Nope. Red ranks need 4 Iri. Emblems to double pip, then every rank below you can get one slot less (Purple: 3 Iri. 1 Gold, Green: 2 Iri. 2 Gold, etc.)

The later it is for your region, the worse queue times are. I've had my Survivor games take up to 20min for a game, but Killer is still less than 20 seconds.

that looks like evidence but if we check very carefully she is blocking the PATH to the hatch and not the hatch itself, but it realy looks like she is indeed stopping the ace from using his key, so that's great news! :D
She's standing on top of the hatch. Ace can't open it with the key because he has to be on top of it/it has to be unobstructed. She cut off their path a few times but at first it was bodyblocking.

Skip to 13:30 to see evidence.
Side note, can't wait to see keys nerfed. As someone who plays both sides they're pretty OP, and abudant since the mori nerf. Ideally a key would just let one survivor go, or at least have a slow unlock animation like opening a chest :/ tactics like what Ace and Dwight had here are just scummy and unfair to a well played game.

Not even necessarily meme builds (though feel free to share!), just dumb builds that either shouldn't work... Or absolutely don't work but you run nonetheless.
Personally, I can't get enough of Mettle of Man and No Mither. Together. With a little Tenacity so I can GTFO after taking a hit. It's so dumb and it never works unless you throw the entire trial, but just the fact that the killer has to deal with this insane No Mither Kate tanking hits that suddenly tanks a hit and doesn't go down... That's gotta be a massive headscrew.
Crackhead Wraith: Purple and Green Shadow Dance addons with Bamboozle, Iron Maiden, Brutal Strength and Fire Up. Bonus points for an indoors map offering.
Pandemic Plague: Black Incense and Severed Toe with Discordance, Blood Echo, Thanatophobia and Infectious Fright. The idea is to encourage Survivors to stay healthy and practice social distancing. If I'm feeling really mean I'll throw on a mori, cause ya know
Screamer Doctor: Iridescent Queen and High Stimulus Electrode with Infectious Fright, Iron Maiden, Dragon's Grip and Deathbound. I came up with this when the Rift introduced those challenges to make Survivors scream X amount of times, I've also used MYC cause they scream when it procs.

Twins Balancing, just so they're viable if not good

Dangit... Now I can't reliably de-pip without resorting to going AFK. I used to use Mori's to purposely De-rank, just 1 hook into mori up to 3 survivors and let the last one get the hatch, but now I can't do that because they changed mori's to only work after 2 hooking survivors. So I WAS using the Twins instead since they had problems gaining rank, but now they've gone and corrected that too... Sigh, I'm so sick of being stuck in the sweaty as hell red ranks, and now the only way out of them is to throw the game on purpose, which I think is a bannable offense(?), not sure, just damn... they removed all my tools for purposely failing to rank up while still playing the game... Guess I should just stop playing for a few months if I want to go back to the fun ranks.
I got you bro, run builds that aren't really throwing but are destined to fail. Burger King Myers, Bamboozle Nurse, using meme addons and perks.

Why do you want Pharmacy and Lightweight to get reworked? Both of the perks do exactly what they are supposed to do and they are both pretty good perks.
Pharmacy is bad because it doesn't really do what the perk entails- finding 'medicine', being a healing perk really. You get one guaranteed Emergency MedKit (a fast heal for yourself or someone else) then faster chest searches, which can be any item. Ideally, Pharmacy would provide a boost to healing in general- high efficency in using MedKits, faster healing with a MedKit, increased chances of finding MedKits in chests, etc. The chest speed increase should've stayed with Appraisal, as that perk focuses on chest searches alone.
Lightweight admittedly doesn't need much work (I forgot to add the (minor) tag to it). IMO the Scratch Marks should fade faster or maybe be less bright. It's not bad, but could be better.
-
Survivor: No Mither, Sole Survivor, Up The Ante, Pharmacy, Wake Up!, Vigil, Boil Over, Distortion, Poised (minor), Buckle Up, Babysitter, Camaraderie, Second Wind (minor), Lightweight
Killer: Predator, Bloodhound, Shadowborn, Stridor (minor), Beast of Prey, Furtive Chase, Mindbreaker, Cruel Limits, Gearhead (minor), Hex: Blood Favor, Coup de Grace, Monstrous Shrine
Except for the ones I listed as minor, which really just need numbers or usage tweaks, these perks range from barely useful to watered down versions of better perks to downright useless. Steve, Quentin, and Wraith in particular are disappointing because they have some of the weakest Teachables in the game all in one character.
-
The thing about SWFs is that BHVR can't truly balance around comms when they don't have a comms system ingame. There should be something, but unfortunately not much can be done.
That being said, my experience with SWFs is that they are heavily altruistic and group up together, so a perk that can punish Survivors for doing actions together (like a reverse Prove Thyself) or something that discourages saves would be good (something like Dragon's Grip, where immediately touching the gen makes you Exposed, but its a short timer on a hooked Survivor).
-
I'd appreciate an answer on this too, but directly calling out a single dev is extremely rude. I was surprised the other guy got a response in the first place, even with his video/reasoning for singling out Almo.
-
Personally I would go with STBFL, solely because Doctor doesn't have a special attack and thus doesn't get as much use out of it as Killers like Demo and Piggy, or instadown Killers like Myers and GF. Plus, Oppression+Thrilling+PGTW+Corrupt makes for a great gen-protection build.
-
I have 7 achievements left so far, varying difficulties:
Nurse Power Achievement- Not too hard, I just never play Nurse.
Adept Nurse- Imma have to soft-throw and rank reset my way to rank 20 to get this.
Myers Power Achievement- Same as Nurse, don't play him too often.
Taking One For The Team- Screw this, its not hard per se just tedious. 250 protection hits near an unhooked survivor within 7 seconds of their unhook? I've never focused on this one, just let it happen naturally. After ~950hrs playing the game, I only have 20 hits left.
Left Behind- How the hell am I gonna get this w/o a farming Killer? With the EGC and the way its set up, unless I bring a very specific build and hope that my team is dead by the time I 99 the last gen, its not happening.
Adept Twins- No. Just no.
Where Did They All Go?- Need to find a SWF for this, not hard unless I'm solo-queueing.
Side note: I got super lucky with some of the harder achievements. Did Evil Incarnate in one go (God smiled on me that day), got Adept Plague in Purple ranks since the team was memeing around, farmed Skilled Huntress and did all other Adepts at Red Ranks, late at night against console players. Nothing against them, but PC has the advantage at the start :p

dosent help alot of the time the killers are like freddy or deathslinger and hard camping people constantly. i play both sides, so i can see both sides of the coin, survivors do the meta stuff aswell, which is boring too, but not this much in my experience. Its normal to have DS in your build but theres no way 9/10 games a killer plays is vs a squad of survivors with DS PAIRED with UNBREAKABLE.......
My build is head on, quick and quiet, BT and DS. i only put BT back on recently because most of the games are killers camping and sitting on that RUIN and UNDYING combo. One good thing since the last update i can say WELL DONE TO DEVS FOR though is the fact i havent once, not ONCE since the mori nerf have i been camped off the first hook into a mori straight away.
that useto happen atleast once a day, havent had one of those since. For the love of god, please as quick as u can devs, make changes to undying combo and the DS/unbreakable combo. games will start being alot more fun again. RUIN by itself is fine, its meant to be a gamble, not a I HAVE 4 POTENTIAL RUINS up over half the game, zzzzzz......
You know what's also boring? Seeing DS, BT, DH, Unbreakable, Adrenaline, Iron Will, or some combo of the above every game. Both sides have powerful meta perks that everyone brings. Unless everyone agrees not to use them (lol) its up to the devs to address them all.

@Aldath said:
Hey there guys. I made a couple threads in the past addressing how I couldn't rank up past 10, and many of you recommended me to play Nightmare and gave me advice, as I couldn't really grasp what made him strong: thanks to you, last season I made it into red ranks for the first time ever!
That said, playing only one killer makes stuff tedious, and I love to play as a killer for fun. I went back to my old mains (Legion and Hag), which carried me all the way to 10, and oh boy, I immediately started de-pipping and went all the way back to 8, then at season reset I was placed in 10, and here we go again. I feel like that episode of Spongebob where he learns how to drive blindfolded, but then can't do it normally.
My current issues are...
-My chases are usually quite long. By the time I manage to take down my first Survivor, usually one generator is repaired and the second one is more than halfway done.
-I have problems identifying priorities. If during a chase I run into survivors doing gens, I usually go to the gen, kick it, then start chasing the other survivors. Usually this results in the survivor I was previously chasing healing and helping with the gen I kicked by the time I manage to land my first hit in the new chase.
-On the above issue, I usually interrupt chases when I figure out someone is repairing a gen. By the time I get there, Gen is repaired, I lost a chase, and the survivor gets healed.
-I don't really know when it's a good idea to slug and when to hook...
-Killers with harder to use mechanics, like Nurse, Twins or Spirit, often result in me being teabagged to no end, having lockers slammed in my face, and in general, being made fun of while finishing the match with less than 3,000 points...
The above issues are stuff I usually don't have when playing Nightmare. I use PGTG, Thrilling Tremors, Discordance and Franklin's Demise on him.
I have most meta perks unlocked, and the only killers I don't own are Ghostface, Demo, Myers and Blight. I watch streamers like Otz often but I don't feel it helps much for my learning style. Also, my objective right now isn't to rank up as before, but to just learn to do good with something more than just Freddy.
Any advice? :(
Some advice I can offer you:
-If you’re new to those harder Killers (Nurse, Spirit, Oni, etc.) don’t play them unless you’re in really low ranks. Learn how they work, then work your way up.
- If you’ve been in Red ranks before, you have a general idea of what Survivors like to do/predicting Survivors movements. Keep that in mind when you encounter multiple survivors.
-Slugging is mostly useful when avoiding DS or going for a sweaty 4k. If you really need it you can slug a couple times when multiple survivors are nearby, or when you need to keep a critical gen from popping. A slugged survivor means 2 survivors not doing gens- one slugged, one going to pick them up.
-If you have long chases, you need to start learning how to mind game and run certain tiles. This is really practice, but once you learn how your chases will be much faster.
-Finally, I can’t say much for Legion because he’s one of the weakest Killers in the game rn, just behind Clown and the Twins. For Hag however, she’s a diamond in the rough. Played right, one of if not the strongest killer. The best way to play her is to trap chokepoints, learn all the intricacies of the traps, and most importantly- reaction timing. A triggered trap should always mean a hit, so train yourself to react to it quickly (either with button or mousewheel). If you want an expert’s advice, I recommend Michi- world’s best Hag main.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AX5AGQiNKg0
EDIT:
@Aldath said:
Well, I'm really having a horrible time playing anything else... I mean, I am constantly running into the following now:
-It's not just a matter of getting rid of the weakest link on the team: usually the weakest link is way better than me anyways. I've been matched against ranks 1s CONSTANTLY.
-Been running into a bunch of SWF. The level of coordination between players is just too much to be simple PUGs.
-My most common mistake as of late: chasing people off generators and then losing sight of all of them in seconds, unable to keep up with any chase and giving them time to regroup.
It's just like anything I've learnt over hours is just vanishing or something. It just keeps happening.
-Matchmaking will always be a #########, the best you can do is try your hardest and not beat yourself up when it screws you over. Its sad but true, not your fault at all though.
-SWFs are also broken, it takes the best Killers to take them down. Again, don't feel bad- its a broken mechanic the devs refused to touch, not your fault.
-Again, the chase is crucial. If you're playing Hag (as mentioned above) you CANNOT chase like any other Killer, it'll take forever with that 4.2m/s. Set up traps, scare survivors into your web and down them when they trigger the traps. A good Hag sets traps, but a great Hag finishes chases before they even start.
-
DH is the best Exhaustion perk IMO, but the timing can be a bit tricky so if you know how to use it well it's your best friend.
Pharmacy is a meme. You'd get more value out of Empathy or even Blood Pact. If you want a perk that'll heal you quick do Inner Strength, or to heal others quick use Autodidact or Desperate Measures.
Visionary is a beginner's perk- as you learn gen locations/spawns you won't ever need it again. Here I would put DS instead- yes its overused, but its still meta and an insurance perk. If you really want a gen perk, Prove Thyself is the best.
Finally, Urban Immersion is becoming more and more useful with every update IMO (doesn't trigger Hag traps, won't make you Tormented on PH trails, doesn't trigger Killer Instinct w/Victor, etc.) and used correctly it can be pretty useful in some chases or loops (quickly and safely loop Huntress, Deathslinger, Plague w/o getting hit via ranged attacks). Definitely not meta but not a bad choice, just know when its appropriate to use it or not and you'll do fine.

Its widely known that tunneling instead of hooking every survivor is more effective. Its not even straight up tunneling one person, only ignoring one person and never chasing them, gives the killer a better chance. Hooking every survivor three times makes the game a lot harder.
So would you as killer or survivor want a mechanic which makes 12 hooking viable? Or what are your reasons against it? Would it make games too long?
Edit: the goal is that the killer shouldnt be penalized for not tunneling a survivor to death.
Meh, 4ks are fine regardless of hooks. I at least want a safety or 1 pip though so I don't camp or anything. I only try for 12 hook games when its an adept.
-
You can get 1, maybe 2 pips consistently w/o addons. The weaker the Killer, the better you are.
-

@Almo said:
Appraisal's loss of the changing of rarity on items found was a technical issue. The loot tables are buried deeply in a bunch of systems, and adding a new loot table below the current lowest caused problems elsewhere.
Whether this feature will return is under discussion, and is affected by the amount of work necessary to adjust the loot system to support it. We've seen the feedback and consider it "high on the community wish list".
Thats actually really helpful. I figures Appraisal got nerfed so you couldn't get a ton of items from one chest (the chest speed shouldve stayed IMO, rework Pharmacy and Quentin perks :p), but this is much more useful. The lower rarity was a valuable aspect of the perk, so I do hope it gets compensated or buffed in some way to make up for it (assuming it doesn't come back).

Can I get the link for the website you used? I want to see specifics :)
