Pretty sure the mods and devs look down on farming....
I don't farm myself unless its for a Killer Adept. I say farm loosely, because that usually means me giving Survivors second chances by letting them heal themselves, pick themselves up, do some gens: all so I can keep chasing, downing, getting every hook I can until I max every scoring event. Can't wait for the emblem system to change so I don't have to constantly do this.
-
The only change I would add is that the speed bonus removal from Appraisal was unnecessary. The only rationale for it was so Pharmacy (an already bad+niche perk) wasn't made completely useless. It makes more sense for Appraisal to have the speed bonus, since its more focused on chests than Pharmacy. They should revert this change and rework Pharmacy (and everything else about Quentin, but this perk is the issue rn). Other than that, good analysis!

It's been reactivated, the data will be analysed on what was tested before any decisions will be made with regards to what happens further down the line. This was only a test after all, nobody said that it was going to be a permanent removal.
It's been interesting to see the different perspectives people have had with this though.
Will there be any plans to share the data/results of the test once you guys have had a chance to process it? Or at least a heads up of when you'll remove BL if you plan to remove it.

You opinion dude. Each Killer has a different playstyle, Hag's is setting up traps and ending chases before they start. She's all about strategy and predicting Survivor's movements, possibly even more than any other Killer in the game. Also you don't have to crouch the entire game, once you get a feel for how this Hag places traps (like how a Trapper places traps) you start to realize where its ok to run and where its not.
And it not being hard to use her... she does have a low skill floor, but she's got an insane amount of tech with her traps. A master Hag 4ks more easily than any Spirit or Nurse, just watch any pro Hag. And that's w/o powerful addons like Rusty Shackles or Mint Rag (they're actually bad for the tech involved in the traps).

I.e. the perks effect should additionally extend to the survivor that has that perk equipped.
Babysitter: A Survivor that has this equipped should also be granted 8 seconds of no scratch marks or blood trails when unhooked.
Breakdown: When a Survivor that has this equipped does a rescue, this should also break that hook.
Buckle Up: When a Survivor with this perk is in the dying state it should also show their own recovery state by the intensity of the aura up to a distance of 48m. If revived from the dying state both you and your rescuer(s) should also see the killers aura for 6 seconds.
Camaraderie: Should also work when within 16m of a hooked teammate in the struggle phase. Additionally, there needs to be one of those blue icons like Kindred that other survivors see on their HUD when you are hooked and in the struggle phase to let teammates know you have Camaraderie, and can coordinate activating the extra time.
Off The Record: should allow a survivor to grant another survivor they have rescued off the hook 80 seconds of 100% reduction of grunts of pain and aura blocking.
I literally made a thread about that for Camaraderie a few months ago lol.

While his power is fairly straightforward, he's got a fairly higher skill floor than most Killers. You need to practice and get really comfortable with how he handles, then you'll be dominating with him. No worries about the nightmares lol, I felt the same way first time I tried a few Killers (Billy, Nurse, Oni, etc.).
-
Not really bad but definitely underrated, the Hag is imo the best Killer in the game. Traps are all about strategy, predicting where survivors will go and how to manipulate their movements. There's a bunch of tech involved in the seemingly simple traps (watch Michi's Hag guide if you don't know what I'm talking about), and a great Hag can 4k more easily than a Spirit or Nurse.
-
Spirit! Something creepy and loud with string instruments, lots of shrieks, and some Japanese/Asian influences.

I'm gonna be obnoxious here while still adhering to some form of standards: Doctor with Vile Purge. (Would have said Freddy with VP, but I'm not THAT sweaty)
Between Static Blast, fake pallets, sickness damage and Corrupt Purge, I'm hoping to just keep harassing people long enough to stress them out and force them to make a lot of mistakes. And if that doesn't work out, I'll swap out Vile Purge for some real chase power and take Yamaoka's Wrath instead.
Or I could just use the filth my brother suggested. Ghost Face with hatchets.
So Killers, what ridiculous combinations of powers are you taking into trials to torture your fellow players? Do keep in mind the 2nd power replaces all perks, and you may only take add-ons for the first power, not the second.
Inb4 someone says Trapper with Blackened Catalyst.
Doctor with Feral Frenzy. You can't mend in Tier 3 Madness >:D

It's pretty obvious what happened. Bloodlust isn't an issue, the problem was Steve knew how to run tiles and loops, you don't. Either practice your looping and get better, or leave him alone and go for the other Survivors who aren't as good as he is.

I’ve just been thinking for a little bit and spies from the shadows might be better than whispers I wanna test it out but I just wanna hear from you amazing people
Whispers is better overall, but Spies works really well in areas where crows are unavoidable, especially the indoor maps. Spies carried my ass more times than I can count with stealth killers on indoor maps.

We all saw the posts, the "I'm not playing Dead By Daylight This Weekend As A Killer Main", "Bloodlust is needed" etc etc. So I would like to pose some questions to those who have been experimenting with it...
- Was it really as bad as you thought?
- Is it a mechanic that you think could be changed now due to the state of the game?
- How would you change it?
- And finally, how was your week? :)
- Not really. I played about 10-15 games on Survivor and Killer each trying it out, and its not as rough as I had originally thought. The 115% killers move pretty well if you know how to run tiles, and the 110% killers do well but are slightly more power dependent.
- Overall, I think it can be removed but should be monitored closely. There's a few maps that could be slightly updated so bloodlust isnt as necessary, which leads me to-->
- On a few maps there are nasty loops (Dead Dawg Saloon main building, Groaning Storehouse, etc.) which need the breakable walls destroyed immediately. I haven't looked too closely at the new Autohaven and Ormond maps, but I wouldn't be surprised if they had similar loops. Maybe these strong loops could be nerfed/changed slightly, so its not necessary to immediately destroy the walls? Just my thoughts :p
- Week's going pretty good! I've been focusing on my Killer adepts and I'm averaging about 1 a day at red ranks! I've gotten Blight, Pyramid Head, Wraith, Huntress, Pig, Trapper, and if today's a good day too maybe Cannibal! I'm also practicing for Oni and Plague, but I'm not crazy/good enough to try them at Red Ranks- I'm not good enough at Oni and Plague is near impossible at high ranks.
-
Depends on the situation. You want a serious meta build, do DS, BT, Unbreakable and an Exhaustion perk of your choice. Fun builds, I've got a few favorites:
Autodidact is a great perk against slow heal builds, run it with Empathy+Solidarity to find teammates and quickly heal them and yourself. 4th perk is optional, but I like Spine Chill cause it increases skill check odds.
There's also a locker build I like to run using Inner Strength, Head On, Quick and Quiet, and DS (Though if you want to stick to locker perks, try Dance with Me). I also want to try it with Deception once Binding of Kin hits live servers.
Finally, an anti-slug build. Unbreakable+Soul Guard+Tenacity+Flip Flop. You may want to switch it up with Boil Over, but personally its not as useful. Again, want to try this build with Power Struggle once Ch. 18 hits live.
EDIT: If you're going solo survivor and want to do well, Kindred and Spine Chill are good perks to try.

It's pretty clear that BHVR works on a fairly strict schedule for content updates. For them, pushing back content is pushing back profit, and they want the profit. As much as the community might want to see things released when they are truly ready, they operate as a business with a bottom line based on schedule cash injections via content sales. If you look at the video game market as a whole, you will see a LOT of games and content that got pushed out to meet a deadline, satisfy a fiscal quarter, etc, despite not being in a ready state. This is just business as usual in gaming.
But the most successful games care more about quality. DOOM Eternal got pushed back, as did The Last of Us II, maybe even the new Cyberpunk will be just as amazing. And when fans are raving about a god-tier game, that ends up making much more $$$ than content pushed 'for a deadline'. BHVR should take notes :/
-
Most of the changes I like or need to experience to see if they'd be good or not. Not too sure about Coup de Grace nerf or Victor still being kidnapped for 45 sec minimum- thats a good while in DBD to be w/o a power.
I hate the Appraisal nerf for chest speeds though, it seems like the only reason they did it was so Pharmacy wouldn't be useless. Don't nerf a decent perk to keep a garbage one usable, fix the garbage perk in the first place.

Two words, power creep. To make more meta perks they'll have to be stronger/more useful, but if they make too many game balance is ruined. Perks need to vary in terms of usability and power, and only through certain builds and playstyles can each perk really have a chance to shine. As for the # of meta perks for each side:
Survivor: DS, BT, Unbreakable, DH (and other Exhaustion perks, but this is most common), Soul Guard (Amazing with Unbreakable, usable w/Ruin+Undying meta), and Honorable Mentions: Iron Will, Spine Chill, Inner Strength, and Deliverance. 13 perks
Killer: Ruin, Undying, Corrupt Intervention, PGTW, BBQ&C, Nurses, Whispers, and Honorable Mentions: Tinkerer, some combos like Enduring+Spirit Fury or Ruin+Surveillance, NOED (Yes its a meme, but how many times to all the dull totems get cleansed?), and Thrilling Tremors. 13 perks
Don't forget, addons, maps, Survivor items, basic RNG loop spawns and especially experience can be more effective than any of these perks.

The survivors would just ban either the Game or Hawkins meanwhile the killer can only ban one of the following:
Haddon, Ormond, Coldwind farms, Lerys(If blight/Ranged), Spring wood, Red Forest(All non mobility killers).
Survivors would just have map offerings for 2 of them so the killer is forcibly set to a survivor sided map even with the bans.
This just makes SWF better sadly due to the more polarizing maps tend to be heavily survivor sided while also being more numerous and the few killer sided ones can easily be banned due to how few of them there are.
TLDR: This doesn't work due to the game having too many survivor sided/Killer hosing maps while not having enough killer sided ones to even out the new chances.
I agree. Additionally, while we have many maps I don't think we have enough for map bans, especially taking the above into consideration. Maybe we can do perk bans, where each side chooses one perk that cannot be used? That'd be an interesting meta changer, and there's enough Survivor and Killer perks to do so.
-
2 things:
-Hag is potentially the strongest killer in the game, used correctly.
-Spine Chill is underrated and is the strongest Survivor base perk.
-
Autodidact. It's literally perfect for my name XD

Always a new chapter will come I‘m very excited for the content, characters, perks AND MAP...
With the blight chapter we got no new map, what was very sad and a lot of player were disappointed!
So why they do it again?? I know about the graphic updates for other maps, but a new map is be part of a new chapter 😭
Quality over quantity, dude. I'd rather have 30 gorgeous, balanced maps than 60 mediocre, ######### ones. Besides, whereas we used to get one new map per chapter we're now getting 5-7 reworked ones per update (might slow down as they focus on smaller realms, but still good). Best part is that the Devs have maintained communication with us- they tell us (albeit loosely) what they're up to, so there's practically no surprises.
-
The BP cost isn't the problem, all that'll do is make people grind more for those sweet OP keys and Moris. The best answer would be to limit their usability (a key can only save one survivor, then closes the Hatch behind them; a mori should work on 2nd hook(s)).
-
The best advice is just practice. If you're worried about criticism or ridicule just close aftergame chat and leave. Everyone learns differently and no one can/should judge you for it.
As for more immediate solutions, find a Killer that fits your playstyle. You have a really noble playstyle not slugging and etc., but the higher you go the more that's gonna come back to haunt you. Just how the game is played unfortunately. If you have problems with loops maybe an anti-loop killer, like Freddy?

Just spitballing here, but what about:
Pharmacy:
You have a knack for finding medicine and keeping your friends in one piece.
- Pharmacy increases your chances of finding a med-kit in a chest by 20%.
- Once per trial, interact with any open and empty chest to find an Emergency Med-Kit.
- Your aura is hidden while unlocking/searching chests.
- Your med-kit efficiency is increased by 40%.
- Your aura is revealed to injured survivors who are within a 48m radius of your location.
- After healing an injured survivor with a med-kit for at least 4 seconds, that survivor gains the Endurance status effect. This status persists for 4 seconds after the healing action stops if that survivor remains injured.
I removed the improved chest search-speed, since that'll become Appraisal's thing and also the noise reduction (since I think that should really go to Plunderer's Instinct instead), but I thought it would be good for Pharmacy to double-down on what it can do with med-kits. Since re-searching chests is becoming a thing due to Appraisal, I also prefer making that the function for getting Pharmacy's free med-kit instead of a basic chest search.
This probably wouldn't make it meta, but I think it would gain some better synergy with other perks and create some interesting in-trial interactions.
I like the ideas but maybe not all of them, god forbid that gremilin Quentin actually has a good perk :p maybe the little ones (Medkit chances, empty chest gets a Medkit, no aura) with one of the other three you mentioned and the perk would be more viable.

PC Player here, just passed 800 hours. I only throw on NOED once every 40-50 games, cause using it super often makes me predictable. The only time I consistently use it is a full Endgame build (Rancor, Remember Me, Blood Warden, and NOED).

Nurse is a special case because her skill cap is so high. The very best Nurse players perform on par with the very best players of other top-tier Killers.
Would it be possible to have charts with Killer stats with each chart representing a different rank? I know its not as accurate, considering how easy it is to rank up or down but I feel like Nurse stats in Purple-Red would more accurately reflect the Killer's potential as opposed to her abysmal placement in the overall charts.
Another question: We've had stats about pick rates and kill ratios on Killers, but could we ever see pick rates on Perks and/or Addons? Regardless of a person's skill as a Survivor or any Killer, I feel like those two mechanics have a large enough influence on the game that we could see interesting results.

I don't know why the people are saying it cant be a wendigo because we have Hag. We had Hillbilly but ended up getting Leatherface. We can have two very similar killers, as long as their powers are different enough from each other.
-
You're all wrong. The killer is obviously the long forgotten Teacher. We can tell because teachers have to put up with annoying kids, and in that video we saw the Teacher just deal with one too many students.
-
Wraith is broken after facing a 4 man SWF with Dead Head, DS, Unbreakable and Adrena-Win with styptics and/or flashlights. The poor guy is getting therapy from Doc and Nurse.
Seriously though, maybe it was an addon. Wraith has a brown addon to keep his TR at 0 for 6 seconds after uncloaking.
-
I think its pretty tasteless to have real killers ingame, as it gives those killers more attention and (even though its a game about killing and torture) it lessens the severity of the real killers' actions. At best we should have killers who were influenced or based on IRL killers (EX: The Clown being based on John Wayne Gacy). At least that way, the IRL killer does not gain as much infamy/knowledge. The memory of IRL tragedies should be kept tragic, but by making them into entertainment we lessen the importance/horror of what they really did.

The reason I'm asking is because I just played against Elix's Hag. He destroyed my team and I on Haddonfield.
So yea anybody else? Has anyone else ever gotten to play in a match with other steamers/content creators of the community? How was it? What was it like?
I played with Sattelizer twice and Elix9 once.
First time was with Satt, I was playing Pig. His team were pretty toxic t bagging me and taunting (SWFs), but he was apart from them and played well and polite. I felt bad that he was the only one who died- and not even by skill, it was trap RNG.
Second time was with Satt as a survivor, unfortunately we got a Freddy who facecamped him. I suicide saved him so he could get out :) least I could do for the first game we played, even though he didn't remember it lol
The game against Elix9, they were toxic af. Didn't show in game but I watched the VOD, they were trash talking and calling me a dumb Claudette (even though I messed up their traps, body blocked/protected against survivors, and even DS'd them).
Good times all around :D wish I was on the East Coast though, would love to play with/against Monto or Umbra.
EDIT: Of course I've played with dozens of TTV streamers, and probably more from other streaming services, but those two are the only big name DBD players I knew.

How'd you take the third hit without going down? 1st hit } SG, 2nd } MoM, 3rd } dying state
I had a styptic, so I got picked up and panic used it. Turns out they stack with SG, so it was 1)SG, 2)Styptic, 3)MoM
EDIT: This was a bug from a while back when Silent Hill Chapter first came out, it may have been patched by now.

I came up with a Camaraderie rework a while back, got buried in the posts. TL;DR I gave it the Kindred treatment and balanced it a bit so it wouldn't be abused by SWFs.

I was inspired by a Monto video to run Breakout, MoM, Unbreak-A-Bill and Soul Guard. I broke a poor Bubba after taking three hits while injured and still not going down XD
-
I took aggro from a Bubba all game by constantly getting protection hits (build was Soul Guard, Unbreakable, MoM, and Breakout). The best part was when I used SG to recover from dying in the EGC, then Bubba hits me (SG saves me from going down), but I was close enough to another survivor to get another protection hit, activating MoM (thx Blendette!). He kept tunneling me, thinking I'd be downable- this let everyone else escape. When he tried to down me outside the gates, MoM saved me and I got out. He was soooooooo tilted XD

Imma get hated for this- but I love Midwich for both sides. My main killers like Doctor, Hag, and Ghostface all 4k there whenever I get it. Playing Survivor, I just have to run the right way and the Killer will get confused and leave 9/10 times, letting me escape most of the time.
Can we also appreciate this maps perfect totem placements too? Some are a bit exposed but most are so well hidden, its the best.

I had a person tell me they thought Sloppy Butcher was a Pig perk. And lets be honest, if Spine Chill was a teachable it'd be Blendette's teachable.

Delay Ambush sound cue, maybe change crouch speed and how fast TR shrinks/grows coming in/out of stealth.
Revert RBT changes to 2.7.0, as well as fix BP values for it (you get less BP for a RBT kill than a normal sacrifice).
Change addons- fix or replace useless ones (Rule Set No. 2), add more for the Ambush attack, make RBT status effects last a short/moderate/long duration after taking RBT off.
First box is an automatic fail, but it can be used again after doing a 2nd box (in case the first had the key).

Hey guys,
I just had this crazy idea of how Pennywise terror radius could be different from other killers.
What if it worked the opposite way to the regular terror radius?
Outside the 32m survivors would hear a regular heart beat (not too loud), and as Pennywise got closer, the would start to fade away, until it went completely silent, meaning he was right on top of you.
I believe this would help inducing more fear Into the survivors, which is the whole concept of Pennywise.
Do you think it could work? Would it be good?
This idea would be insane, and I would LOVE to see it paired with a power that can scare the ######### out of survivors!
But a change that big, you now have to think about TR perks. Most would probably benefit, like Unnerving Presence, Coulrophobia, Diversion, and Stake Out. But some would be butchered- BT would be practically gone, Dark Devotion would nullify the abnormal TR, and Furtive Chase/Monitor&Abuse- how would that work? Not saying the devs can't do it (what with PH overthrowing a ton of hook perks) but it's interesting from a gameplay perspective.

Wait for rank reset.
I'm sorry, but getting a Killer adept is waaaaaay harder than getting a Survivor adept, especially the higher in rank you go. Some of the ones you mentioned, especially Plague, are damn near impossible at red ranks.
Seriously though, you'll want to maximize your advantages. Like for Deathslinger, choose a wide open map with lots of opportunities to shoot Survivors (Dead Dawg, Macmillians, Coldwinds, etc.).
-
Claudette's are associated with a really negative stigma of either useless P3 Blendettes who Urban Evade all game doing nothing useful for the team and/or the toxic a-holes who abuse her 'stealth capabilities' and troll the Killer.
This is why, even as a Claudette main, I'll never prestige her. Prestige in general is kinda useless for me, but for her its taking on all the hate associated with P3 Claudettes.

I don’t get it. Not everyone has the skill to loop, so why is it bad that a survivor tries their best to stay out of the killers LOS? I mean, as long as they’re doing objectives like working on generators or cleansing totems? Heck, I spend plenty of matches having to traverse the maps to unhook people because people keep getting caught and no one else is trying to save them.
Don’t get me started on the impatient survivors who wiggle their arms at me trying to make me hurry. I’m sorry, I don’t have BT, so I don’t want to unhook you and let the killer farm. Especially when I could still see him or Spinechill is still lit up! You even have survivors who demand I heal them at the hook that I just unhooked them from. Seriously, would it kill you to sneak away to a safer location for me to heal you. Do you live chases so much that you want to leave scratch marks that lead to me healing you? Even when it’s obvious that the killer will come back (Spirit, Hillbilly, Invisible Chicken Legs) they still insist I stay exposed for their sake.
Even the devs seem to not promote it since I could play perfectly and accomplish more goals than anyone else in the match and yet have less blood points because I didn’t get in a chase or hit the killer with every pallet on the map! (After playing killer for a bit, I kinda feel bad to use pallets or blind, I know I shouldn’t, but I do).
More equality for the Bush People please! We deserve respect! We also deserve all the butt rubs you can give!
Thank you for taking the time to read this rant, have a blessed day!
P.S. Devs, I would also like a bush costume like Fortnite provides. It will complete my ascension to full Bushette status.
Preach brother. But regardless if you were the hero or not, people are gonna hate you for being immersed, especially if you're playing Claudette. I remember one match where I did four totems and two gens by myself- Killer ends up downing the others and kills three of us (myself included) before closing the hatch and using NOED on the last guy. End game chat was filled with racial and sexist slurs against me (even though im a white guy playing a black woman) for being immersed. Only 'immersion' perk i brought was Spine Chill. FML.
(Don't even get me started on OoO. Everytime I try running it, its an instant tunnel and facecamp.)
At the end of the day, its a toxic community of players, and playing a certain character or a certain playstyle will lead to an ######### killer 9 times out of 10.
