  • How? I thought grabbing a survivor doesn't work anymore, so in that scenario the survivor can jump in

  • It's kinda true. I mean, just showing in the HUD who is currently in a chase is such a simple thing to add but we don't have it. The assets are already there, it works with the obsession. It should be a work of 10 minutes or so.

Kindred basekit, something which would change solo experience a lot if we talk about efficency wasn't even tested a single time in a PTB.

  • Great idea. Just don't create brown medkits and toolboxes for some Claudette mains to blend even more

  • Most of the time winning a chase (5 gen run + escape or losing the killer) is a mess up by the killer. DbD is designed around you losing a chase, get hooked and rescued and eventually escape/win. That's why pallets are limited, Windows will block etc.

The killer will get you eventually, but it's about how much time you can get for your team mates finishing the gens without wasting all pallets in the first 2 minutes.

That's the absolute basic to know about DbD. And now, when you as runner did a great job, and run the killer for 4-5 gens and get facecamped but your 3 team mates escaped you did your job and should get a "win" reward.

  • @Peanits said:

The limits probably won't go away. They double as a safety measure to prevent someone from farming a radical amount of points (at most, you can get 8,000 in any category). There could always be more way to get points, though.

How about removing the category limit but still keep a 32k maximum limit? So certain playstyles still are able to get the maximum (for example the runners, the gen jokeys etc)

  • @Peanits said:

By design, you're not supposed to be able to. Once they're jumping, you shouldn't be able to close it. The issue is likely down to latency, where the killer closed the hatch on their end before the survivor jumps on their end. In that small window, the survivor's client would basically say, "Hey killer, I'm jumping in", but by the time it gets to the killer, their client goes, "No you're not, I already closed it" and cancels their escape. You might see some of the animation as the killer as well depending on how the timing plays out.

You're not supposed to be able to close it once they're jumping, basically. We'll take a look and see if there's something wonky going on, but it will probably just be latency.

Could a "save circle" around the hatch (maybe 1 meter radius) where the killer can't close the hatch while the survivor stands in it solve that issue?

    Love it lol

Aaanyways. M2 Killers render MoM completely useless as it is. Once the nerf lands there'll be no reason to take it as it will become even more situational so I'll be going back to Alert / Spine Chill / Urban Evasion / Quick 'n Quiet for ultra stealth immersion build. Well done Killers, you brought this on yourselves lol

I'm currently playing deliverance, adrenaline, DS and dead hard and still run the killer for minutes and can make a complete joke out of the killer, especially basic M1 killers. Just because MoM is gone doesn't mean u can't dominate a killer with aggressive playstyle. And well, if YOU can't you should git gud like everyone else before the MoM release.

  • Remember, McLean is doing everything so he is doing optimisation aswell

  • Imagine someone cares about random people voting up and down their posts... Oh wait, it's 2019. We have Facebook, instagram and all of the other #########. Yay, 21st century. What a great time to live in

  • Same, I'm a nerd and I like when McLean talks and shows footage. He should do the stream completely alone lol

  • Cuz majority mains survivor and wants to keep the upper hand to bully killers. As more things get nerfed by them as less they can bully. And bulling (or just simply dominating "the KILLER" as a survivor) is their only satisfaction

Trapper Traps - catches MoM, DH will avoid.

    Hillbilly - Chainsaw

Nurse - Her speed more than makes up for one additional hit.

Myers - Tier III, Insta Mori, Silent Myer grabs, etc.

Huntress - hatchets, and they're wanting to give her a headshot insta down.

    Cannibal - insta downs

Clown - Red head's pinky finger

    Spirit - silent spirit, grabs,

    Plague - Corruption

So of all the killers, these four don't have built in counters to MoM:

    Pig -RBT

    Hag - collision traps

    Doctor

    Freddy

The smallest thing that makes killers have to rethink their strategy and they lose their minds. - Let's not forget ALL killers have Moris which are OP and It definitely counters MoM.

Trapper - trapping someone is situational and almost 100% a mess up by the survivor. How many survivors do Trapper mains trap in average? 2-3, sometimes 5 at best

Billy - yeah, but Survivors will force you to M1 by windows and pallets. So Billy is not a 100% counter and up to the survivor getting exposed.

Nurse - she doesn't counter it. She tries again

Myers - tier 3 not always possible, rare addons, spine chill.

Getting lazy to continue cuz someone who thinks cannibals can use his m2 all time has no clue about playing killer.

  • So, I don't think Devs gave enough thought on MoM. It is a one time DH. If DH is fine, then MoM is definitely fine.

Well, then old DS was a one time DH aswell. Honestly, break it down for yourself to the absolut basic.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

Okay, let's assume your premise is true, that many survivors have said MoM is a terrible perk. Why would you find it confusing that people would be upset a terrible perk is being nerfed?

Try thinking for a few seconds before you post a bait thread.

Cuz why would be upset about a "bad perk"? Noone would care when a perk like devs vu gets nerfed, noone used it anyway.

Guess what? Not all killers are viable. Never all killers will have the same chance bc of that. And I didn't said that, devs did. If you wanna counter it you have Billy, Huntress, Plague, Leatherface or just be good at chases.

And then u come crying about versing Billy and Nurse 99% of the time. Good job.

Looks like those that suck catching survivors want the perk nerf instead using their M2. The same ones who cried for 2 years here and in Reddit about DS lol

Damn, I'm so stupid. I should have used my bell as wraith to counter MoM. U r such a genius, please train me sensei.

    Some people smh..

  • @Poweas said:

@Orion great! Now Brutal strength will be even more overshadowed... It needs some serious buffs.

Yeah, brutal strength is such a worthless perk compared to all the other options you have. It's power is just not significant enough

  • @baron said:

Survivors get more taken away. Shocking I know. And no chance of refund

Well, survivor had a lot and to much in the first place. It's just reasonable and logical to take it away. You had ur fun for 2 years, some really extreme fun bullying the ######### out of killers.

    Now make place for balance.

As a solo survivor I usually take 1 hit for someone per game. But 3? You’d have to run a different build with perks like empathy just to be able to use the perk to it’s full potential. On top of that you’d have to follow injured players which means another player isn’t helping with the objective.

Meanwhile in a SWF group, all you’d have to do is communicate: “hey the killer is about to down me near the killer shack, come here if you want a MoM stack”. No perks needed and almost no wasted time. This is about as easy as it gets.

Don’t get me wrong, I like that you’re listening to feedback and making MoM more fair for killers but it needs to be tuned. Making it harder for solo but not for SWF is not really a good idea as it will continue to promote a toxic playstyle among SWF groups.

I agree with you, this will just open the gap between solo and swf more. However, it would be less a pain in the ass for basic M1 killers and I care more about that right now. Why? Cuz I can finally verse and play more different killers than 99.9% Nurse and Billy.

Technically Yamaoka Estate does have little ponds. But in terms of a full blown lake, there's a couple reasons. I won't go into great detail, but:

    • It would be a big deadzone. You can't throw down a pallet that's just floating by.
    • If you crouched or crawled through water, you would naturally drown, but that's not a mechanic.
    • Crouching/crawling in water would also make you silent.
    • You would need new sounds and animations to do it right.
    • Performance reasons.

How about knee deep waters, would avoid all the issues

I actually had a killer message me after a game and said just because I escaped with No Mither doesn't mean I'm good.

    Damn he was pissed lol

A killer asked my why I bullied him by running him for minutes with no mither and escaped.

Using no mither and escaping is probably the biggest disrespect u can give a killer lol

  • @Mr_K said:

Simple, it's not supposed to be a powerful perk.

    And Why not?

  • @tt_ivi_99 said:

The flashlight only works if you click the button and have enough batery.

In response to your second question, Hag and Spirit cant be blinded when they're breaking a pallet, Billy can look down when charging his chainsaw and he'll avoid the blind too. The time It takes to blind a killer depends on the type of flashlight you use and it's add-ons. Lightborn and Stridor hard counter flashlights as well.

I'm pretty sure that addons and the type of flashlight doesn't change how fast u can blind a killer anymore, only killer perks can change the time

  • Usually the first 1-2 rounds in my sessions are like you described, after that it's happening less. It's one thing the devs mentioned in the optimisation path, they want to address this. So its most likely not your pc but just DbD beeing not optimised.

  • @TripleTailSlap said:

My issue with MoM is that you don't know who has it, and it feels like you being toyed with when it finally goes off.

When you hit someone with MoM you have two options, to finish what you started and keep tunneling them, or to try to make a mental note that they had it and just go after someone else and possibly take advantage or the aura reveal IF they decide to fully heal.

Instead of trying to give it counterplay they focused more an apology aura reading to killers who fail to finish the chase, and it only kicks in if the survivor heals.

This has been the best survivor perk i have seen in a while that can cruly waste a killers time. I can't really be mad in times when it kicks in for clinch moments like last minute rescues, but having to start fearing that all survivors might eventually have it is quite depressing.

I don't know whats going on in the PC space but i've seen a huge influx of trappers lately, Probably in response to this perk, maybe not.

As a killer main i get bored easily and try to play as all killers and occasionally survivor.

I just want a chance to know who has MoM, when it is about to activate, that way I can choose to chew the power up or decide to pursue others.

Well worded, this perk is really strong and I dislike it hard.

  • It needs it. 5 gens and 1 DC already means to prepare yourself for hatch. No way to get to the exit gates against a decent killer using a mid to high tier killer

  • @PatBrutal said:

So regarding the Bunny Feng outfit, it's more complex than it looks. So basically, the body of a character is separate in 3 parts Bottom, Torso and Head. So if we want to do Bunny Feng the hoodie has to fit with any other torso and sadly at the moment it's impossible.

But u guys made something similar with Legion and Ash, I personally can't imagine that beeing complex tho

  • Remember that cote made a tweet some time ago relating about haddonfield

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/476419#Comment_476419

Just because they play both sides more or less equally doesn't mean they're not biased, and it certainly doesn't mean they're perfect. You're also just making it needlessly more complicated when a simple fix is just restricting it to KYF.

Man why are you so negative about such an addition? Everyone is biased towards one sides, even the devs are. We are humans with feelings and preferences. My suggestion would just filter out those extreme mains who play 99% one side cuz they are 100% biased.

Im personally not amazed by the maps of the devs, especially not the last 3 ones. And I played a lot of different game, trust me: the community can pull off some insane and awesome stuff which the devs wouldn't have even thought in their dreams about.

I know the benefits of workshops, but you don't know them or at least are just seeing and blowing up the negative sides.

  • People get bored about the same gameplay for multiple 100 hours, but still feel attracted to DbD. So what you do? Create your own gamemode called "bully the killer/survivor"

That's one logical try to explain such a behaviour

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/476407#Comment_476407

Survivors outnumber killers (at least) 4 to 1, and the devs can't get their own maps right on the first try. Sorry, but this is just one of those things that cannot make it into regular matches.

The game keeps tracks on how many sacrifices you made as killer and how many gens you made and how often you escape. It probably also tracks how much time you spend playing each role. With that, only balanced players would be allowed to vote. Problem fixed.

  • @Orion said:

In KYF, sure. For regular matches, no way. Toxic survivor mains would create heavily survivor-sided maps, and toxic killer mains would create heavily killer-sided maps.

U could create some kind of voting system for maps + devs have to approve them first. This should solve this issue to create balanced maps

  • @Peanits said:

The sensitivity issue has been brought up with the team. It's not quite as simple as increasing the range of the slider, there's a lot of things that could break if you just increase the sensitivity alone (hillbilly's chainsaw, for example). I can't guarantee anything just yet but we would like to get that sorted out if possible.

I know pc and console is different, but increasing the sensitivity in GameUserSettings.ini over 100% (I have 140%) isn't breaking anything tho.

  • Sometimes necessary, other times needless.

I can understand when a killer tunnels one down after 1 gen left and still 4 alive, that's what I do. What I don't understand is beeing a nurse/Billy, having 1 survivor DCing and still 5 gens up and just straight up tunneling the living ######### out of everyone. That's when I can just smh cuz I don't get it

  • @Peanits said:

Since Bill is not our own original character, we are limited in what we can do with him. In the same way we cannot release additional cosmetics for licensed characters without getting approval first, we also cannot release licensed characters on every platform without the approval of the license holder.

Have you guys tried to make some new deals with the licence holders of bill? Some new cosmetics for him or him beeing on different platforms would be quite nice

  • Yep, that's why I called long ago that punishing for DCs isn't the solution

  • @AntiJelly said:

The hatch is already a mechanic that forgives a survivor for completely losing. You failed as a team if you need the hatch. If you find the hatch first, that's that. If the Killer finds the hatch first, he gets the kill that he basically deserves. That's it.

Playing solo doesn't work like that. I can't pick my team members, I can't communicate with them. Ranking system makes it even worse allowing potatoes to be rank 1. If I run the killer in the EGC for the entire time (3 minutes) and he couldn't catch me it feels undeserved to die.

  • Bumping this cuz it was in the middle of the night, noone saw that I guess

  • I'm fine with that idea. I never use NOED as killer and it's just annoying to verse that non skill perk as survivor.

  • @PeepingPeacock said:

Chase music is supposed to be loud and annoying for the same reasons gen poping and hooking bubbles are obnoxiously big, stop you from seeing anything in that direction and last forever. To make it harder for the killer to find survivors and vice versa.

Well, then it's a bad design decision from the devs. There is a difference between making music distracting and making it not only annoying but also blasting your ears away. This game has to many ear rapes.

  • Range addons doesn't change juke potential, it just increases map pressure insane.

Additional blinks is what bothers me. It's like versing the old Legion, he misses multiple times but at the end he still gets you after so many tries.

  • @ClogWench said:

His chase potential is pretty good now. At this point Wraith excels at getting close undetected and ending chases relatively well. I think he's already in a solid place and doesn't need free grabs.

Did you mixed up wraith with Nurse?

MoM is fine as it is. Most matches a survivor will have to actually take hits on purpose just for it to activate. OR, the killer will use their ability to instadown the survivor.

As an M1 killer, you need to improve your mindgames to pull survivor off gen/window/pallet/hook.

Basically what u r saying is that survivors already have the upper hand without that perk and can escape easy, but still let's introduce that perk just in case so survivors can escape even when they messed up.

Thanks for confirming that survivors have the upper hand and that perk shouldn't be introduced.

  • @NoShinyPony said:

@SlinkyJinky The only "counter" to MoM is hard camping. Once the survivor gets on the hook, he can't make it off.

The problem with this "counter": The killer is throwing away the match. While the killer camps, the other survivors will do gens. After the first survivor is sacrificed, the killer might have enough time to get a 2nd survivor to camp to death. Result: 2 kills, a de-pip and a really low amount of bloodpoints.

That's not a good "counter" that you are suggesting here.

U forgot the fun factor. Really unfun for both sides aswell.

plague died? she is one of the stronger killers in the game if you can aim her vomit

Then why is noone playing her?

Also, hitting Plague m2 (in open field) is easier as on Huntress. But Plague still sucks and huntress is better. So eh.

  • @HazeHound said:

Mom's biggest issue is that it requires literally 0 skill. You just get second chance. One per game is fine, but 4 is just cancer. That and Pig/Legion overnerfing is why i play mainly instadown killers or trapper.

I must be fair tho, its better designed than old ds, because of built in penalty after use and inability to deny first hook which was biggest strenght of ######### strike.

MoMs negative side isn't a real negative.

And it doesn't prevent the 1St hook, but a hook someone in the middle/end which can be as deadly as not getting the 1St hook
