  • I'm really excited, I just hope he is at least C tier, has a good skill cap and learning but also is fun to play as AND verse against. Why it comes out he's even better than c tier it's even better

  • That's his character and I like it and it's not even rude or bad or something. It's what makes MC actually MC. Stop forcing people to be all the same and how u want to.

  • Yeah I play both sides, nearly all killers and try to be as reasonable as possible. Do I succeed with that always? Nope, sometimes I'm biased. But I try to discuss and find out and correct myself.

Btw, are u playing spirit again? Sound is so broken, haven't touched her for weeks

@HavelmomDaS1 It's her hook pressure that kills her. And flashlights destroy her if she tries to set up, and they can do it from a range. It's unfair. It needs to be good.

Urban evasion hard counters her hook pressure, but not too bad.

Majority of hags I verse are trapping 3+ traps around the hook and aren't really leaving the area. Especially basement hags lol.

But I see where u coming from, it hurts the skilled players more :)

So what you're suggesting is not being able to close the hatch so you can have a stand off with a limited timer? It's almost like the whole point of EGC was to eliminate stand offs and hostage games? Did you even try, just try, to think this entire thing through before posting?

I think his goal was to create a 3rd spot to patrol: 2 gates + hatch, which gives the survivors a better chance. Once spottet it's gg anyway, survivor can't do much but confuse the killer a bit and jump in

  • I don't understand how hag 2 counters. In a normal 1v1 chase scenario crouching isn't variable at all. Not even with urban Evasion. And even flashlights can't always be used midchase to destroy the traps.

Imo Hag is in a good spot, counters are alright. Not to strong, not to weak.

  • Add soon™ to the list.

  • @Orion said:

If the killer couldn't close the hatch, it would just make the hatch a free escape for survivors once again.

I think how he described it you could still grab the survivor. And since the EGC timer is running, a potantional "standoff" would last 3 minutes at most.

Ok, this is my critic: You should have tunnel since the match started, that way you may not have find yourself in that difficult situation in the first place. I would have use NOED, It is a surprise with Myers and punnish gen rush.

Finally; you should change your actitude towards survivors. Treat them like what they are: Meat for the slaughter. You will never find me reading the cow's epitaph every time I eat a burger. That's the same importance you need to give to the survivors' comments ;-)

The thing is tho, I don't have much fun tunneling as killer. I want to go for different people u know? But at the same time I'm a competetive player, I don't like losing, I want to win. So I usually play "normal" till I know I would lose if I continue and start tryharding as much as possible to make sure I win.

And noed, well I have a personal distaste with this perk. I hate versing killer using it, so I don't use it myself.

Same with old DS. I hated versing it, so wasn't using it.

Claudette has 1 thing that makes her visible

    Her hair

Her hair seemingly is so dark that it stands out in the dark, so you can see them through the fog, I have done this tons of times

Another way of finding a claudette is if you are close to a p3 one, the skin actually will lighten up

Only really in the distance with high contrast background. Other than that it's just blending.

  • Should be okay. It's the safest pallet lol, finally an alternative instead if just breaking it

    Actually you can't.

Stealth requires a big commitment, and I'm not talking perks. When you see a Killer do you buck or do you try to stay still? You have to make a choice, you cannot do both. If you don't commit to either loop or stealth, you will get caught.

If you try to stealth killer will get too close and you won't have the space you need to effectively loop. Survivors have to choose one master, you can't really do both. Sure you can be primarily a looper and choose to stealth when you can, but that's normal. The inverse is also true; if you stealth sometimes you will loop when the situation calls for it.

Looping means you go for the safe spots as soon as the killer gets near. Going stealth is different, you do not make a break for the safe spots instead you usually try to juke when the killer is close and you often need to do so in unsafe places. You do a lot of risky plays letting the killer pass right by you as you crouch by a door way or a window and the killer walks by, or crouching behind a pile of tires or a tree stump as the killer walks around. If he sees you you're screwed and it's too late to loop. So you need to choose what to do when the killer is near. You can't do both.

Actually u can. Play Blendette and loop. Chances are that the killer loses you while looping cuz blendettes blend in the environment even while running. Happened to myself often and I saw that happening to others aswell.

Especially now with broken sound, the only tell tail is currently visual. And scratch marks are kinda broken aswell, appear to late to be reactive and more just like a hint to follow.

  • @pemberley said:

I am definitely a stealth based survivor.

That said, something needs to be done about Claudette. I know from first hand experience you don’t NEED camo to stealth - I have stealthed with Kate in her bbq shirt and Meg in her sherbet ice cream 90s gear. Every other survivor has at least one tell tale sign for the killer, except Claudette and in a game where time is money, this is a problem - made even worse in actual chases because they are so hard to see (let alone without corn.)

    This!

There is in active stealth of the player which requires a lot of skill, well and then there is Claudette. Braindead, passive and requires nearly 0 skill but is extremely rewarding. Blendette needs changes.

  • I prefer professional and optimal loopers over blendettes all day every day. I like looping, no issue for me.

  • Curving. That's what you need as billy to be more than just an M1 killer with mobility.

Watch the guide of "ohtofu" on YouTube. It's long, but covers pretty much every aspect. The only thing I don't agree with him is about Q and E keybindings. For me it's absoluty a must have.

  • Lmao imagine u complain about fookin myers, in the state of the game when you can even stomp a Billy. Yeah no, I'm not a console players but no. Deal with it, git gud.

  • Welcome to 2019 lad. It's not 2017 anymore.

The called "trick" is known as gentapping.

  • That's the reason why I DC when someone drops this map offering, unless I'm Nurse. This map with balanced landing is ridiculous, it has some real infinites on it. Besides the Longwalls u can abuse even without certain perks.

  • @Tsulan said:

    Of course there's a difference.

But that a 50kg claudette that is crouching, is an obstacle for a 150kg killer is kinda... weird.

    To say the least.

I was just pointing out how face camping was not considered anything utterly dramatic, since survivors could do the exact same thing. This has changed and now the OP gets downvoted for complaining about it.

Has the killer a way around body blocking survivors? He sure has. But it requires some planning beforehand. Since he has to equip perks for that exact situation. While survivors problem was solved with the introduction of swivel hooks.

If this approach shows a certain bias, is highly debatable. But I would have preferred the same standards for killers and survivors.

Either swivel hooks for both sides or perks that help with that situation for both sides.

Not one treatment for killers and a different for survivors.

But that's just me, and I know that you have no word in balance or design choices. I just had to get that off my chest.

U need to see the survivors perspective aswell. Beeing on the hook facecamped (back then when facecamping was a thing) was just straight up bs. Yeah it was funny sometimes, I laughed a lot.

But u the fun for all remaining survivors were gone. The hooked one was dead, the others kept holding m1. And there was nothing the survivors could do to change that situation.

But bodyblocking? Smack or slug, u have full control in that situation to make a decision.

  • @ClogWench said:

Without trying to be rude, it just means you haven't actually gotten the chance to improve against competent survivors. The problem isn't SWF. The problem is people of a lower skill level facing them and suddenly being heavily outmatched for the first time.

There is a limitation as a killer. U cant win against sweaty swf groups who don't care about ruin and finish gens in normal time while beeing optimal af with looping and not wasting pallets on a map like bloodlodge. Unless u play nurse, you will get stomped. Even as Billy, u can sometimes feel hopeless in such a situation. The only hope u can have is that ur opponents are making some mistakes and u are ready for it to punish that. Otherwise gg.

  • Depends how long the distance is. If you have to put the cable across your house it's going to be annoying af to deal with cable laying around.

U would have to invest time (and money) to attach the cable at the wall so it's hidden, u know what I mean?

That's actually one big reason why I still use WiFi. Don't have the time to make it good enough, would annoy me to much. Also i have a laptop and move with it everywhere, so it doesn't make really sense for me anyway.

people ask it because it was working very good in Identity V

U really try to compare identity V and DbD? I mean yeah they have similarities, but DbD is for me completely different. As if anyone would care about balance in a mobile game anyway.

DbD is a mess, creating g a new gamemode with 2 killer will be just unbalanced af.

Imagine 2 omeganurse or one Billy, one Nurse or one Nurse one spirit. It's straight up bullshit.

    @HavelmomDaS1

You can do this, but giving all survivors built-in perks and informational mechanics won't solve the problem completely. Think of this as 1 over infinity, you're so close to 0 but... you're not actually touching 0. Doing your method will be like what I said above, we're so close to completely closing the gap, but we're not actually closing the gap.

However, perhaps that's good enough? Perhaps it's "close enough"?

I know, it's not about giving solo ALL information. It would be nearly impossible to get solo to the same level as swf. The point is to close the gap as much as possible without changing DbD completely. Cuz atm the gap is huge, which is just hindering the progress for balancing.

Imo the only things needed (atm) to close the gap a lot is:

    1. Show in the HUD who is in chase and not only the obsession

    2. Totem counter (idk if visual or audiel)

    3. Kindred base kit, especially the feature of showing killer aura when camping.

These things would raise up the efficiency of solo extremely high. Not as high as swf, but very close. This would allow devs to straight up buff killers without worrying a lot about solos much, it would also allow adding a second objective without completely breaking solo.

Well, this Friday they said they are reworking maps or something. Lets hope its actually I good change that can benefit slower killers on big maps

Where did they said that? U have a link for me?

  • @Visionmaker said:

When did they say they wanted to "fix" Claudette?

To long ago to call u the date

  • @Peanits said:

That would be interesting in theory, but say I, as the killer, intentionally look for someone else after you are unhooked. I do my best to track them down but they vanished like a fart in a wind tunnel. Instead, I go back to patrolling only to find you by random chance a minute later. You would still be able to use DS on me even though I did not intentionally chase you off the hook.

To add to that, I could toss on no mither and keep jumping in front of you while you chase someone and you'd have to eat the DS and hook me or put up with me getting myself up and blocking you over and over.

I think it's important to keep the timer on DS. Finding someone a minute later would not be tunneling.

Maybe changing the timer to 2 minutes and if someone gets hooked DS vanishes immediately? Cuz I personally get pissed when I hook someone else, but find the one who got unhooked previously and get DSed

  • People dumped 100-200 $ into cosmetics? No wonder the devs don't have the emergency to change things, they are earning money anyway.

  • They just don't take our concerns serious.

He doesn't need to be perfect, but he is clearly playing poorly. If I was hearing correctly, this was the last stream of the night and he was probably tired. If he couldn't see Blendette then maybe he shouldn't chase Blendette. Get what I'm saying?

Claudette got lucky with pallet spawns, but it's not surprising given it's a corn map. The same happens with Shelter Woods. Pallets can't spawn in the middle of the map so they concentrate in the outskirts. True practically set himself up to fail.

And anyway, it's not about his performance. It's about the pallets right now. I just use this match cuz I myself don't record my matches but get those crazy rng aswell.

There 2 blendete in this match, should he ignore 50% of the team? What a stupid suggestion, really really stupid and pathetic.

  • @Visionmaker said:

He had the opportunity to down her at the first pallet with chainsaw and could have downed her before the third if he wasn't greedy at the first. He misplayed at the seventh pallet by the farmhouse and let her slam him. He tried to mind-game only three times and Claudette still outplayed him each time.

He found eight pallets total, which is almost half of the pallets in the map throughout a 3 minute 30 second chase through the outskirts, applying zero pressure. In that time he looked at one generator. ONE. Meanwhile, Claudette looped each pallet 2-3 times (except one) and was highly efficient.

Idk ######### you're watching, but True did not play well and committed to a chase with someone that clearly outplayed him. Bubba's advantage is in the corn where there are no pallets at all and he tilted himself.

... and his stream are calling these "infinite loops". Wow!

It was a blendette. Even I lost track while watching it in slow-motion, what do you expect from a human beeing in real time?

  • @fischyhb said:

I agree, it does seem like there are more than ever on it now.

Yeah, it increased at one point to again.

Farm maps have to many pallets aswell, but we all know that anyway. It's mental

  • Yeah sure, in any other game majority can't identify themselves as a black person and play white character, but in dbd out the mindset changes out of the sudden.

If I would have to say a number I would say 90% of the Claudette players just picked her cuz if the camouflage and not because they like her and can identify to her.

  • 1. Close gap between solo and swf

    2. Buff killers

    3.?????

    4. Profit

It's the only solution for this dilemma, nothing else will work or just shifts the problem somewhere else.

  • Who cares? It's a balance decision. It's already nearly impossible to protect ur totem once spottet.

In any case I like this trailer , fits ghostface pretty nicely.

Maybe fits ghostface, but definitely not DbD. That's the point.

  • Pls no, it's more like a generic movie trailer than a dbd trailer imo.

Oh yeah? For me Nurse is for absolute noobs. Can't M1 your way to victory, sheesh what noob.

Idc, the topic is about Claudette and not Nurse. What a foolish attempt to shift the topic just to stay away from my point I made so u don't have to discuss it. Just proofed for me that I nailed it perfectly.

  • Devs are doing it incorrectly imo. They wait and collect all changes to drop it one big update. But instead they should update as soon as significant bugs got fixed.

I remember when I was in the PTB and some gamebreaking bugs were fixed in it. But instead of releasing those bug fixes immediately we all waited multiple weeks to drop the fixes together with the new killer. So illogical for me.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/44236/why-punishing-dcs-is-not-the-solution

the point is, when DBD was born up to 2 years none was DCing, but lately ppl doing it like crazy

the reason is SIMPLE: players are bored of the game, therefore it is needed a very deep improvement with NEW modes, NEW items, NEW features, NEW rewards.... then it wont be that much dead by dc

Yeah, could be another reason aswell. But I can't imagine how the devs would manage all of that, they are already struggling to balance the current game mode and are doing changes in a really slow rate

  • @Tsulan said:

    Don't play ninja claudette?

Ikr? U guys all know exactly why Claudette is a reason to play different, this little bish is nearly invisible. Hell, u can lose her midchase cuz she blends in the environment so well while running that u lose her even we u actually look directly to her.

Play something else. Or use different cosmetics. For me Claudette "mains" (they probably don't like Claudette as a character but just want the advantage she has) With blending cosmetics are absolute noobs.

  • I will just bump this cuz we are probably at the worst state regarding DCs and everyone is shouting for punishments.

  • @FireHazard said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/496627#Comment_496627

It may cause DC'ers to actually play for once because DCing is "outlawed"

Its either that, or they just die on hook. But I'd prefer that over people DCing from being picked up, going down first, being found first, being slugged, etc.

Its a better trade than you think.

Both is the same for me, the only difference is to get a BBQ stack.

I will call it now, once DC punishments drop survivors will suicide on hook like they did during hollowed blight event. If the core isn't fixed, punishment can't force fun for players. Imo DC punishment will probably not help at all. Worst case we will just lose more players.

  • @ItsYourBoyGuzma said:

    Yes, everyone has realized this.

This is why the majority want dedicated servers in DBD already, we hope it'll fix the DCing problem but to be honest with you i dont have faith in the servers being stable..

I also dont have faith in the devs actually penalizing "certain" people for when they DC.

People don't want dedicated servers primarily for DC punishment, they want it for better game quality. DC punishment with servers is something the devs bring up pretty late

I could agree with a 3 minute EGC timer if it didn't slow down while survivors were downed or hooked.

Then noone would risk to save someone and you as killer would not have the potential to down more survivors. It's a lose-lose situation.

  • Then we would have survivors holding the game hostage all over again. No thanks.

  • @Mochan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/496300#Comment_496300

Yeah it's the same here. As a long-time survivor, when I started playing Killer it was so easy finding everyone because I knew exactly where everyone was hiding, and I knew which way to go in a chase because I knew where they would usually go.

My killer mechanics suck (aiming is required) and I am not good at optimal pathing, but I can get by on just game sense. These are baby survivors anyway so they're not super good at looping.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/496419#Comment_496419

What makes you think you didn't break a survivor if a survivor rage quits? I find your double standard unusual. It's a lot better for a killer if a survivor rage quits. If you are upset over not getting a BBQ stack, lolwut? In return you have one less person doing gens. That's a HUGE advantage for killer. Now you can massacre the rest of his teammates in easy mode.

Where did I say a survivor rage quitting is not a sign of him beeing broken? Dafuq? It will suck for the whole team, while a killer DCs is just end if the match. Simple.
