Thus we get to the crux of the problem. By necessity in game design, to be balanced, the 4 players by themselves must individually be weaker than the 1, other wise the game isn't fair. But in order for that to happen, they need to have solid teamwork and work together to make things happen. The thing i don't understand is, this formula works perfectly fine for MOBAs. MOBAs require significant teamwork in order to execute things effectively. A single player can't win the game for your team, however, a single player CAN lose the game for your whole team.
Those games work fine and are some of the most played games in the world.
At the end of the day though, this game NEEDS to be made fair. Research has shown that even in monkeys and rats, if the games they play aren't fair, they just stop playing the game with the other monkeys and rats.
Because it's a completely different game, in a completely different genre, with the two sides playing completely separate games with so many different factors as to whether or not you lose or win that any comparisons have some 5 layers of separation.
The game does need to be fair. But that's gonna require a restructuring of the entire game in a way that isn't just "do it like those guys".
Which would require effort. And time. And a level of understanding and sheer competence I just don't think BHVR has.
So, if we can look forward to anything, it'll almost certainly just be bandaid fixes.

That's not what i said though, survivors should require teamwork. In your situation, if killers don't want to play the game because it isn't fair, you have 4 people sitting in queue doing nothing. You can't have it both ways.
If the survivors using teamwork and killers would be equal, then survivor would by necessity be the harder role, because the killer doesn't have to rely on the good judgement and coordination of randos to perform well. The Survivors do.
If nothing else, you can't get a Dwight crouching in the corner the entire game as your teammate when you play Killer.

"No point in this post"
I mean it's not impossible, but.

The games you mention are not asymmetrical in the manner that DBD is. The "meat and potatoes" of each game you mentioned is symmetrical. R6S/CS:GO each rely on FPS mechanics and mainly relies on your ability to point and shoot. And while Natural selection has asymmetrical team loadouts, each team is performing the same objective of killing the opposing teams bases.
My point is that using them as an example that balancing against high level play is the way to go isn't really relevant to DBD.
So the question becomes what the definition of "balanced" should be for a game like DBD.
In these games, the difference between teams is so minute that it can barely be called a difference at all and are essentially identical.
I guess DOTA 2's an asymmetrical game because Roshan's spawn is slightly closer to Dire and that's why we should balance DbD the same way.

People offering escape cakes and survivor puddings are ruining the event.

No, I'm saying what I said: you can't argue your way out of breaking the rules by going "actually" and you will, in fact, be breaking the rules if you do that, no matter how you try to justify it.
Actually officer, I didn't kill anyone, my gun did.

I think some portion of it may be that it's easier for killers to grief than it is for survivors, and this community really doesn't like it when you don't treat both sides equally despite... Well, all of the inequalities.
For example, for a group of survivors to genuinely take the game hostage, they have to work together. A killer, on the other hand, can just intentionally 3-gen with Legion throughout the entire game after checking friends lists to make sure there is no SWF.
Yeahh. A sense of impartiality is important, but it's an asym. There's always going to be some differences you just can't ignore.
I think another part of it might be the mixing up of BM and griefing. Survivors have much more tools for BM-- but Killers get more chances to grief. A survivor gets their clicky clicks and Tbags for free, but anything more than that requires coordination and can get you killed. Killers can just knock you down.
Just happened to me and a Jill last game. No BM, just playing the game normally. And I guess surviving up to endgame earned us 4 minutes on the ground?

@MadLordJack said:
Devs don't care be ause you'll eventually bleed out. They don't even care that this absolutely falls under the definition of griefing, because they've shown a complete unwillingness to police griefing in any way.
"Killers aren't supposed to be your friends"
I don't get this weird-ass LARPy reasoning for going out of your way to be a ######### to the other side.
Killing the survivors is your objective in this multiplayer game. Making them bleed out on the ground out of spite is what we'd like to call griefing in this multiplayer game.
-
Borrowed Time. Frankly, i've had too many situations where teammates would have just never made it out otherwise to take it off.
-
Glad to have you back, Tony.
-
Objective #1 is getting my teammates out-- escaping is secondary.

The hell did I tell y'all about being horny?
-
THE SHRINE OF SECRETS IS NOW ALSO A CONSPIRACY AGAINST KILLERS HOW COULD I HAVE BEEN SO BLIND
-
Well, I guess if you just keep the axe swinging, you'll hit the right necks eventually.
-
You know, I unhook people during Endgame all the time..
But I know if I tried this challenge, it would never, ever happen again.
-
Perhaps.

Just don't be a douche for no reason.
That's literally it.

As Pyramid Head is the supernatural, physical manifestation of a man's guilt and desire to punish himself, and Nemesis is a giant unkillable superzombie with advanced weaponry, I don't #########' know man, Chris?

Meme build? Where?
'Cause I don't see a Spasmodic Breath there, buckaroo.

Why are they happy?
I'm dissatisfied with their game, they should be miserable.
If they don't spend the entire 6th anniversary bemoaning the futility of their actions i'm not buying cosmetics for a month.

What a nice young man.

You can hold W, but only as long as i'm Blight.
-
It'd be nice to have the game be balanced at high level play.
But before I see the same goddamn link to the same goddamn Uncle Dane video agoddamngain, as an asymmetrical game, it's a lot harder to simultaneously do that and have it be an enjoyable experience at every other level than just "balance for tournament play, boom, done."
It'd have to be massive and sweeping. Which probably won't happen, ever, because that requires effort.
So i'll take the clown fiestas.

Haha 😂
I’m guessing I’m seen as some sort of niche perk expert now, huh?
I ain't seen anyone else sing Visionary's praises, is all i'm gonna say.
-
It's just not happening, dude.
Reject the idea of winning against Spirit, embrace despair.

When TheClownIsKing says your niche perk sucks, you know something's wrong.

No, the person that is being transported, that the rest of the team won't let you hook; drop them and camp them. Hit anybody that comes in for the save.
It sounds to me like you think it's okay for survivors to bully killers, to ruin their experience, and just wave it off as a part of the game, as a valid tactic. But God forbid a killer suggests using a ######### tactic in retaliation...
I don't even know if you're responding to me or not, but damn, 0-100 real quick.
Do whatever tactic you want, but try to word it so it doesn't sound like you're just doing it out of spite.
-
@mad_hatter said:
In that situation, I would've slugged. Just camp the downed survivor until they bleed out. If people are going to play like that (I won't call it toxic, but... you know...), just tunnel them out.
Bleeding someone out for making sure their teammate gets out?
-
People don't take chances with Spirit.

There's no reason not to change the BP bonus requirement over to something a little easier to get without encouraging downright harmful play.
Other than just "More grind".

Do bones.
You know how the curse goes.
When the killer has hexes, no one has totem perks and they're all hidden perfectly.
When the killer doesn't, everyone brings their totem assassin builds.
But only when you're survivor.

I'm glad Lord Tony's finally got competition for the title of Most Miserable Killer.

If Spirit has no Counter play why is her Killrate so Low that's its not even 10% better than your average Killer? (5% at best)
I have no problem with Spirits, I use Stealth against her, ask yourself. How do the best playing Survivors do vs. Spirits?

Here is an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ou8eqghyNik
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ou8eqghyNik
These players do a lot of things that Trick the Spirit, and ofc they play well themselves.
Could be that Spirit is just really good at capitalizing on poor teammates instead.
If nUrSe IS sO strOnG WHy iS HeR KiLLraTe tHe LOwesT

Because.. because BHVR, man. I don't know how better to explain it.
Billy gets destroyed but Spirit doesn't get touched.
This timeline's pretty goddamn dim.
-
Tbaggers in general are trash gremlins, but there's no way for them to know you're console and having these issues until the game's over.
-
How does that even happen by accident?
Unless i'm horribly mistaken, you can only shoot through those tiny cracks. That's a pretty damn precise hitbox to be giving it by complete accident instead of just making it a flat barrier like it apparently should be.
-
On a non-licensed character, you should get a crown cosmetic for that character's head if you escape with the crown sparkles/just get it as Killer.
I have heard of the glitch where you don't get the crown, though.

I can hit Greats all the time until I get a challenge like this.
Then i'm suddenly just a pixel off every time.

The last event, I would make sure to never kill anyone as Killer. I'd beat 'em around a bit, hook them a few times, but when they were down to their death hook i'd make it known I was friendly and leave them be from there.
Looks to be the same this event.
-
If they clicky click and butt dance then fair play, but like.
If my teammate unhooks me and they're going to die if I don't BT body block, i'm going to BT body block.
Priority #1 is getting my teammates out of the game alive.
-
Bill gets his own Rift but not a hovering piece of circle floating over his head?
Guess I don't have to worry about this event either, damn.

Because the current system is downright obsolete, probably.

With how downright insane the chat filter is, I don't see why they don't just remove chat entirely and replace it with a GG button.
Wouldn't be too far removed.

I wouldn't know, I usually spend my time playing the game.
